Barty's eyes flickered like a dimming flame, confusion and weariness swirling within their depths, the debilitating potion clouding his thoughts. “Regulus? What’s happening?” he murmured, his voice a fragile whisper that barely pierced the heavy silence. Straining against his restraints, he lifted a shaky hand, yearning to stroke Regulus’s face, but the binds held him fast. His features twisted in disorientation as he sought the warmth of Regulus’s embrace. “Regulus... I don’t understand...”
Regulus shook his head vehemently, struggling to swallow the painful lump lodged in his throat. He grasped Barty’s hands, pressing them fervently against his chest, as sobs wracked his body, each shudder a response to the agonizing sight before him. Barty, once vibrant and alive, now appeared fragile and distant, and the weight of this transformation crushed Regulus’s spirit. It felt as if his heart were being wrenched from his chest, piece by piece, with every fleeting second.
“I’m here, Barty,” Regulus declared, his voice thick with emotion, barely escaping his lips. “I’m here. You’re not alone. Please… just hold on for me.”

“Is that a new cologne,” he called out casually, his voice loud enough to echo through the air, “or have you just stopped showering, Black?” Without a moment's pause, Regulus shot back, his voice smooth and unyielding, “No, I stopped by your house. Thought I’d try whatever your stupid mother was wearing.”
