Lestat crawls on his knees on the carpeted floor, in movements that Armand can sense as feline, sensuous. High as fuck. Daniel looks down – no, not at him, just at Lestat – smug and comfortable, sprawled on the side of the bed, legs obscenely apart, arms stretched behind him, bearing his weight.
“Come, baby, show me if you’re all talk, then,” Daniel says, and Armand knows he’s not talking to him, but a part of his stupid, treacherous mind seems to disagree. There’s a degree of humiliation to all of this. It’s good, Armand thinks, it’s all he deserves, after all.
OR: Lestat and Daniel hook up – Armand watches, telepathically.

Summary
“And you are–,” Armand pauses, as though searching for words. Finally settles on… “Safe.”
The implications in that one word. Daniel’s near certain the kid doesn’t mean safe as in a safe bet, a sure thing. He means that he feels safe. And the fact that the kid is finding safety here of all places– in an old journalist’s arms, in his own professor’s bed, without any defined relationship. Is he speaking about emotional safety? Or is he speaking about physical safety?
Daniel’s afraid it’s the latter.
