Summary
There’s a long-standing curse over the F1 grid, one that everyone knows of and which could happen to anyone. Not anything that would stop a race - but things that would be an inconvenience.
Or: Max is cursed with cat ears and a tail and tries (not very hard) to not make it everyone’s business. Mostly, he is just very embarrassed by the tail which seems to have its own mind.

An email couldn't singlehandedly change one's life, right? Except that this one had just turned Max's life upside down. On the other side of Monaco, in their separate apartments, Lewis and Nico were both looking at their respective screens with great interest.

Or: Lewis and Nico both select Max as their mentee in the newly implemented Mentor-Mentee system without knowing about the other's decision before it's too late. Now, Max is stuck with both of them, very much against his will.

Summary
In 2015, when Max first joined F1 as a fresh-faced rookie, the pack shut him out because of the wrongness and temperament that existed on him like a second skin. In 2025, Max has mellowed out and the pack, specifically the rookies, begin coming to him. Whether they are tired, angry, hurting, or unsure, Max never says no. He doesn’t weigh the risks of involving himself with a pack that doesn't claim him; he only registers that someone needs something, and that he knows how to give.
Layered on that, Max has a secret that the pack doesn’t know nor understand but they begin to circle it. It lives in the way he goes still when certain voices drop, in how his eyes glaze when someone gets too close, in how he never asks for anything and how every so often he'll disappear and return as a ghost.
OR: The 2025 rookies get attached to Max very quickly, pulling him into grid pack dynamics. Unfortunately, Max was cut from the pack in 2015 by Lewis and he still doesn't accept him. Now that Max is getting closer again, the grid is starting to notice something is very wrong with him.

Summary
If the GPDA notes were to be believed, only champions had ever received wings after the final race of the season, exclusively in the manageable size described in Seb's notes, like Lando's, in FIA-sanctioned colours. There was no recorded incident of any kind of deviation, but then. Things were not always recorded for a reason, and George had gradually learned that the absence of a thing in the official record keeping held a very different kind of weight.
Still, moments trickled back to George from the second half of the season. Horner's sacking, Red Bull's almost miraculous comeback, Max hunting other cars down for pole positions and podiums. Red Bull gives you wings. The team had, in horrible irony, seemed to have somehow manifested their tagline. Max had embodied that team in a way that had been awesome and terrible to see.

Summary
George hadn’t seen the bullet itself, only the reaction it had caused. Max’s shocked, pained gasp, the jolt that had wracked through his body as the strength of the impact had forced him backwards, the blood that had instantly started seeping at his chest, barely visible through the dark fabric of his race suit yet so jarring as it marred the gold of the trophy he held in dark splatters.
Max had disappeared behind the podium, his body collapsing, tearing through the backdrop. One moment he’d been there, solid, beaming, and the next, he was gone, the only traces of him the blood he’d left behind.
Distantly, George could remember the moment as the last time he’d seen the man in person. There was nothing more to it: after the fateful blow, Max Verstappen had vanished off the face of the earth.
Or: three years, three championship wins after Max Verstappen’s unfortunate passing, George Russell learns things might not be as he’d thought they were, as Max might be well and alive out there. He embarks on a quest for truth, and purpose, chasing something -someone- he isn’t sure he’ll find.
