Summary
Gale, once the esteemed Archmage of Waterdeep and now the self-appointed Grand Collector of Magical Misalignments, finds himself stranded in an unfamiliar land with a ragtag group of liars, cutthroats, and aliens. While he manages to rekindle his long-neglected skills in building friendships with most of them, it's painfully apparent that the vampire harbours a profound dislike for him. Given his recent streak of misfortune, it's no surprise that fate dictates learning more about the volatile orb lodged in Gale's chest requires Astarion's begrudging cooperation.
Astarion, for his part, is simply trying to survive.
Thus begins a journey marked by personal evolution, confronting inner and not-so-inner demons and embracing self-compassion—not necessarily in that order.
Oh yes, and they also need to save the world.

Summary
If anyone happened to ask, Crowley could tell them that he coped perfectly well with Aziraphale’s return to Heaven. Annoying, but Crowley’d dealt with worse.
Certain intensely irritating shopkeepers - who are not his friends - might get a rise out of a lesser demon, but not Crowley. He wasn’t going to be pushed around by them, or his old boss, and certainly not his own fucking car.
As for Aziraphale’s return? Totally not a problem. Crowley can handle the angel. He knows exactly what he wants to say to Aziraphale and nothing is to make a dent in his composure.
Of course he would say that. Demons lie.

Like, actually. He very nearly loses balance for no reason at all and tumbles to the sidewalk next to his car. He’s been playing Aziraphale’s voice in his head for weeks, he’s been trying very hard to drown out the sound of it, in fact, and now suddenly, abruptly—
“What are you doing here,” is all he can think to say. He whirls around, and there he is. On Crowley’s right, standing there like he’d never left. Where he belongs, Crowley’s mind helpfully supplies. He wishes he could punch himself in the brain, knock the thoughts right on out of there.
