Rin squints at Isagi, like one might at a very large bug in a very inconvenient place. "I don't get you."
Isagi shakes his head. "Seriously? Right back at you."
Rin scoffs and turns on heel, just- walking off. Shit. He really did that. Isagi watches him take several steps away, completely dumbfounded, before Rin glances back over his shoulder.
"Are you coming, or did you just take the train here because you felt like it?"
The sun catches the sea glass sheen of his eyes for just a moment before his bangs fall back into his face, but that's all it takes to issue the challenge, loud and clear: did you think I’d make this easy on you?
"Yeah, yeah. Lead the way."

Concerned with how things were left after U-20, Isagi goes to visit Rin before the end of break. They address it. Sort of.

"This was your plan all along, wasn't it? Fucking distracting me with this love bullshit, your pathetic sob stories, and-" Blood explodes inside Rin's mouth like a warning siren. But rage wins. Rin grips Isagi's waist where a silent battleground hides. Fingertips threaten to burn through the fabric, and color over damaged skin with indigo bruises. "Making me feel sorry for you, because of your disgusting scars."
No matter the challenges and defeats Isagi faces on the field, the brilliant, brave fire in his eyes never goes out.
But for the first time, Rin sees that light extinguish.
