Summary
He wasn't sick or anything. Demons don't get sick, and if they did, they wouldn't pathetically cry about it in secret because their throat stung and no one would ever be there for them to make it better. That would be ridiculous.
-
Or, Beetlejuice gets the flu and is being so brave about it (by pretending he's fine). The Maitlands take matters into their own hands.

Summary
The ship was almost fixed, it was only a matter of hours. Maybe minutes.
Terry was sitting at the dinner table, his head resting loosely on his hand as he stared outside the window, right into the garden.
The sky was clear, yet the wind still appeared to be blowing, shaking the leaves around.
He sighed and stretched in his seat, taking in the green of the grass that gently waved. His back cracking.
It was too good to last, he knew it. -

Summary
He wanted more than anything for Mac to stop looking at him for what to do. Dennis shook his head, running a hand on his face.
He didn't know what to do, no matter how much he would've liked it to be otherwise, to be in control. Deep down he felt paralyzed, despite all his feelings, now growing heavy within his chest and making it even harder to breathe. If Mac didn't have his back for any decision, how could Dennis be wise enough to know what would result in disaster? What would end up destroying him? He felt alone. Lost. Small.
He had to look after himself, or no one else would.
Marinating this thought in his head, he threw himself on the bed, not expecting to fall asleep any time soon. -

Summary
Dennis is sitting at the counter.
People are talking around him, chitchatting, but he can barely hear what they're saying, he tunes them out.
It's not like people ever have anything interesting to talk about, he learned that a long time ago, so why not just focus on himself?
Except he can't even do that either, not really.
