Chapter Text
He stared at the city before him, eyes wide with tears flowing from them. The world was cruel, he knew that.. But his heart still ached at how much cruelty was there..
Earlier, his childhood friend (not anymore..) Told him to jump off the roof and hope for a quirk in his next life .. Not only that, his his idol just squashed his dreams, all because he was quirkless…
A sob broke free, his hand going up to his face as his bright green eyes closed tightly. It shouldn't have hurt this bad… and yet it did . It was like knives stabbing his soul, ripping him apart as if he were paper..
He fell to his knees, his hands going up to grip his hair as more sobs raked his body. He felt like such an idiot, thinking he could be a hero without a quirk..
His sobs left his breathing unstable, tears rolling down his face in streams. His form was shaking, the pent up pain being let out as he curled up. His legs were pressed against his chest, his hands tugging at his hair.
He stayed like that for a while, crying out his sorrows…
Soon, he felt faint arms wrap around him gently, him freezing as a stuttered gasp left him. His eyes widened in shock as he heard a soft voice whisper next to his ear," It'll be ok, kitty.. Everything will be ok…" … Their voice was faint, as if they were a ghost. Their voice held an echo, it like wisps in the wind.. His breathing was shaky at best, him glancing down with tear blurred eyes.
Wrapped around him was transparent arms, them slim with a spandex-like covering on them… Red and black were prominent colors, the black being spots while the red was the background. He vaguely recognized them, although he didn't know where.. What the voice called him was familiar too, it holding a comforting presence to it.. And longing. Longing for the origin and not knowing why..
" I'll always be right beside you.. I'll find you, kitty… I promise.. Just.. Hold on a little longer.. Ok?", their voice was sad, full of something he didn't know. His heart tugged as he choked on another sob, unable to reply as he felt anguish at their sadness.. They shouldn't be sad.. Something in him didn't like seeing them this way, only wanting them to be happy instead..
What did they mean by that? 'Find him'..? Was he lost? No, he couldn't be..
The feeling of the arms stayed for a while, him lowering his hands to grab them. His hands went through their arms, as if they weren't even there.. And yet he could tell they were.. His hands instead gripped his jacket, wishing to hold onto whoever this was… He shouldn't trust this person, he didn't even know them.. And yet, he felt he did. He felt safe near them, a feeling he only had around his mother.. Why… why did he want to hug them and never let go..?
"D-don't go..", He managed to sob out, his grip tightening on his jacket. He felt someone set their head on his, his green curls falling in front of his eyes as it did. It felt comforting, why did it feel this way?
" Don't worry, kitty. I won't be gone for long.. We'll reunite again eventually. Hopefully sooner than later… Once I find you, I won't leave. I'll make sure you won't be alone ever again..", their words weren't a promise.. It was a statement. They meant every word.. His voice stuck in his throat, no sound leaving as the words sank in. Who.. Who would.. Care this much…? He didn't know them and yet… they knew him. Like an old friend..
He felt a phantom of a kiss to his head, a faint ,' see ya later, kitty' following before the feeling of the other left. He scrabled to turn around, panic feeling him as he yelped," wait-!"
He saw no one behind him.. It was as if they weren't there at all.. Was that his imagination..? Who.. Who was that? Why did they seem.. Familiar?
A faint word came to mind, it feeling him with confusion. M'lady… was that who the person was? Was that their name?.. No , the word seemed to hold much deeper meaning than that. But what…
He took a shaky breath, wiping the tears from his eyes. He needs… He needs to walk.. To sort his thoughts..
If that was a real person.. He needs to find out more.. He needs the find them. Get answers…
He paused when he spotted several pedestrians running in a direction, screaming in fear as they did. What the..
He shakily stood, his movement stiff. How long had he been on the ground for?.. Didn't matter, he needed to go check what was going on.
With that, he moved in the direction others ran from, steeling himself to be prepared for what he would see…
