Chapter 2
King stands in front of the magic mirror with a mask staring right back at him.
It hums before announcing, “ You hold magic in your soul, yet it is completely different to anything I’ve ever seen”
‘So my magic is a different kind of magic after all’ King settled.
“The nature of your soul belongs in… Scarabia'' The mirror calls out to have one of the seven sections start cheering and clapping for King.
King flys over to meet a short boy with short white hair, tan skin, and vivid red eyes. He lets out a bright smile that can rival the sun itself, and he holds up a red and gold arm band, and a pen with a big jem for King to take.
“Nice to meet you! I’m Kalim Al-Asim, the Housewarden of Scarabia.” Kalim introduces, “I’m throwing a party at the dorm, and we’re going to have so much fun. Do you like parades? I’m going to have a big one at the party!”
“Um, I don’t mind parties.” King responds in confusion.
King moves to the back of the crowd, and he turns around to meet Yuu in the eyes. Yuu nods at him, and so he follows Kalim to Scarabia, leaving Yuu alone to deal with Crowley. Yuu will probably be sent back home since he is magicless, so King will just get expelled quickly and get sent back to the Boar Hat. As much as King wants to get Crowley to send him home, he had a good feeling that Crowley would interrupt and shove him to his dormitory instead.
“Alright everyone, this mirror will be the one to lead you to your new dorm!” Kamil announces to all the freshmen just before walking though.
“WHATT!” King exclaims, gaining most of the students' attention. ‘Oops.’
A shiver went up his spine the split second King was in the mirror for. Now King was in a desert with a giant red carpet leading towards an even bigger castle. The castle was incredibly fancy with lights, food, and people at the lounge just pass a fountain the size of King and Ban’s shared bedroom at the Boar Hat. Next to the fountain is a crowd of dancers wowing new and current students, and elephants carrying a group of students around the dormitory.
“Oh my goodness” King muttered at the sight of the party.
“Welcome to Scarabia,” A boy with a tan and half of his dark brown hair braided into a low ponytail greets, “My name is Jamil Viper, and I am the Vice-Housewarden of Scarabia, the dorm based on the mindful and resourceful traits of the great Sorcerer of the Sands.”
‘...His kind greeting is nowhere near matching his feeling’ King noted due to his ability Heart Reading. ‘I’ll keep an eye on him’
The freshmen split up to go to the different attractions that the party offered. King ended up flying over to the lounge where all the food was set up. Every single dish held a strong and delicious aroma, so King just picked a random dish to eat. Most of the seats were taken, and King didn’t want to sit with random people, so he sat on top of his pillow high in the air. In the middle of his second meal, King spots Kalim waving him down.
“Hi ...” “Harlequin”
“Ah yes! I was telling Jamil how cool you were at the ceremony. Did you know the first fireball was going to hit me? I would’ve been running with my butt on the line!” Kalim grins.
“Oh, then I’m glad you didn’t get hit,” King responded.
“I have to thank you for protecting Kalim while I was gone” Jamil bows, “It would have been terrible for Kalim to get hurt.”
“But I didn’t so it’s alright,” Kalim says before referring to King, “How do you like the party? I would have gotten more stuff, but Jamil stopped me.”
“The party is cool. This food is amazing.” King answered.
“Jamil made all the food, he’s a really good cook, that curry is one of Jamil’s specialties, he also makes reall-'' Jamil interrupts Kalim.
“Please don’t. I’m sure Harlequin already understands your point.”
“By the way, Harlequin, should you really be flying so much?” Kalim asked, concerned, “You collect a lot of blot if you keep it up.”
“Blot,” King questioned, “What’s that?”
Both Kalim and Jamil gasp in shock, and King gets even more confused by this reaction.
“You don’t know what blot is???” Kalim exclaims, “Everyone should know what blot is. You build it up whenever you use magic, and you could get really hurt if you don’t get rid of your blot.”
“Really? I’ve never had that in my world.”
“World?” Jamil and Kalim.
“Well, I’ve never heard of a Twisted Wonderland before. I’ve also never heard of any impacts of using magic.” King explains.
“That makes sense!” Kalim says fully convinced, “Your magic pillow and flying is quite weird. How will you get home though?”
“Same way the magicless student will.”
Kalim and King continue talking to each other while Jamil silently stands next to Kalim. King eats a bit more before he lets Kalim know he was going to turn in for the night.
“I’ll take you to your room!” Kalim calls before leading King to a room twice the size of his old room. “This is the room almost everyone gets in this dormitory. Jamil and I gets a bigger room since we’re Housewardens.”
“Goodnight.” “ ‘Night!”
As soon as the door closes King flys to the window quickly to open it up. Scanning the area briefly, King leaves his dorm room through the window to fly towards the mirror to leave the desert. Completely unaware of a pair of gray eyes following his figure.
