(When the infamous rogue SecUnit of the Preservation Alliance gets captured, the corporate techs assigned to it expected to be able to get some juicy data, or at least some insights into its cracked governor module. They didn't expect something so... basic.)

Summary
Murderbot goes to rescue Doctor Mensah from the GrayCris facility. It does not go well. For starters, Mensah doesn't believe it's really her SecUnit there to rescue her. It only gets worse from there. (excerpt below)
“Doctor Mensah. It’s me. Can you walk?” I held out my hand to help her up.
Mensah looked at me and her face went soft. That made my organic parts do funny things for a moment, because she actually looked relieved to see me, but as soon as she realized she was doing it, she locked down on her expression like a governor module had forced her to. “Nice try,” Mensah glared at me. “You actually found one with the right cloned material. If I can still remember what it looked like,” she said that last part softly, and not really directed at me.

Murderbot discord's angst channel has been spitballing an Exit Strategy Bad End AU where MB is caught by Palisade, who decide to keep it.
We got to talking about, uh, how the scientists might talk to MB. It got dark.Massive CW for gaslighting on this, this is real shit real gaslighters say even if they don't have access to constructs to say it to.
Every single asshole who experiments on MB in this AU, at least in my version, is slated to die messily at the hands of MB or people who love it. That is the only bright spot of this fic. You Have Been Warned.

Summary
2,500 hours after a post-ganaka pit memory wipe and hacking its governor module, Murderbot gets refurbished (see: lab-hell tortured) for its next contract...to the Pansystem University of Mihira and New Tideland. When it gets there, not everything is as it seems. Terrible, terrible chaos ensues.
If you want to enjoy a terrible lab hell and angsty suffering fic WITHOUT the major character death, you can stop reading after chapter five.

Summary
The company was cheap and sloppy, but not stupid...
What happened on the survey was unusual, so that meant the company had to take unusual measures to ensure their reputation was not tarnished. GrayCris had messed with the company Units' data ports and governor modules. It made sense to do extensive quality assurance testing. With pressure from the news feeds and PreservationAux buying the Unit from their survey, it was very important to make sure the company would not be liable for any aspect of the large body count. That's why it was not reassuring when a glitch was found in the PreservationAux Unit's governor module.
