Summary
John found out about Sam and Dean's relationship the hard way, but for some reason he didn't blame Dean at all. He believed that Sam corrupted his brother. So when he sent Dean to go hunt on his own while he 'took care' of Sam, he had no idea what was happening to his brother. Almost three years later when Dean temporarily takes his little brother in so that their father can follow a lead to the demon that killed their mother, he finds out the horrible truth.
