I first encountered fanfiction well over a decade ago as a teenager. I read a lot, and wrote some bad parodies which I can't bring myself to read back (and some painfully earnest character studies which we won't discuss). I stopped writing when real life got too busy, but I've periodically lurked since then in a few different fandoms- mostly The Lord of the Rings, but also Harry Potter.
I started a pandemic Discworld marathon in 2020, beginning with The Colour of Magic and working my way through the whole series in as close to publication order as possible. The plan was to mop up the books I'd never got around to and revisit ones I hadn't read since I was at school, but it's become a big part of the last year and a half for me (not to mention an affordable form of therapy). I only stumbled across Discworld fanfic at the end of 2021, but already it's become a proper fandom obsession, and I've started to have ideas and inspiration for the first time in ages. So this is a shiny new account to celebrate that. I haven't written fiction properly for well over a decade, so I'm a bit rusty. Any feedback, comments, concrit or typo notifications would be hugely appreciated.
In real life I'm an ecologist based in the UK. I own a concerning number of houseplants, but the copyright to absolutely no fictional works or characters.
