Alter, altar (alter = to change) (altar = a place of worship) (They had to alter the altar.)
Ruins, runes (ruins = fallen architecture) (runes = ancient writing styles) (They translated the runes at the ruins.)
Weary, wary (weary = tired) (wary = suspicious) (They were wary, but the place seemed abandoned, and they were weary.)
Peek, pique, peak (peek = look) (pique = grumpy) (peak = the top) (They peek at the peak in a fit of pique.)
Manner, manor (manner = a behaviour) (manor = a large home) (Use your manners at the manor.)
Principle, principal (principle = a code of conduct) (principal = head of a school) (That principal has principles.)
