I write Harry Potter fanfiction while rejecting Jkr as a public figure and the politics she actively promotes. She is a bigot, and I oppose transphobia, racism, xenophobia, and billionaire power in all forms.

I do not consume, celebrate, or financially support the franchise. I use its fictional world as a familiar narrative framework for non-commercial, transformative work, often to reinterpret, subvert, or discard the values embedded in canon.

This is not endorsement, nostalgia, or brand loyalty. It is reuse. If that distinction does not work for you, this is probably not the space for you. And it is totally okay and valid
