FANDOM: Lucifer (TV)
LENGTH: 35-40,000 words
PAIRING: no relationships so far
RATING: Teens and up so far but the story/series gets darker, with angst so probably later on M or E (see themes)
THEMES: the fic starts with Lucifer and Chloe tying up a case of sexual child abuse, but I haven’t mentioned any details so far. If so, I will rate those chapters accordingly. Other: emotional distress of the main characters, whump, substance abuse/unhealthy coping mechanisms, scars, wings, H/C, aftermath of trauma, etc. (smut?)
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR: it’s my first story so there is some work for the betas out there. I’m not a native English speaker, though I'd say my language skills aren’t too bad. I have troubles with the correct prepositions; also proper punctuation, especially direct speech, is something you should be able to point out. Using adverbs/adjectives for an easy read should be looked after as well. I try to stay in character but this is tricky. I’m not sure if the way I write Lucifer is actually as sophisticated as I think, or too much/OOC. The same goes for Ella’s way of talking and pretty much everyone else (ooops); switching between American and British style is also hard for me.
I value honesty and although it might hurt to be pointed out a lot of mistakes it’s the only way to improve. I’d rather have my beta(s) have my work blown into little bits than my readers. However I would appreciate if you could explain why certain things should be worded differently or erased or a bit more detailed, and also I like to learn about my grammar mistakes and get some explanation on them as well! (e.g., I just learned recently that “very” sometimes can't be used right in front of certain verbs but should be substituted with “much” – oh and I do have the feeling that I just randomly use present perfect and past perfect and progressive forms without really knowing why)
