Never had Haru imagined that after solving a case that happened many years ago before he was ever a police officer. He would help solve alongside Kambe Daisuke.
Along the way we dig deep into the Kambe family. We learn the truths and darkness surrounding the Kambe name.
Nonetheless Haru stayed with Daisuke helping through thick and thin. He couldn't leave him not after discovering that his father was still alive.
So much happened, just to reveal the truth. Both Haru and Daisuke ended up on a ship were Shigemaru Kambe was. Haru earned the courage to shoot again. Daisuke protected him, as Haru did him. Just as thing were getting more complicated and difficult, Haru got shot in the arm. Still he continued to fight until Shigemaru actually killed himself.
Daisuke had an blank expression when he found his father shot in the head, and the gun next to his lifeless body. Haru watched him from the corner of his eye, holding his arm.
The First Division showed up to clean up the mess, and Daisuke called the ambulance for Haru. He didn't say a single word to anyone, he kept to himself.
Many months past since that day, and a lot has changed in the time.
Daisuke left Japan, back to Landon. He didn't even say goodbye and that really broke Haru's heart. He joined the First Division again, to keep his mind busy. He still hung around with his friends when he had the chance.
One day Daisuke came back, but engaged. When news reached Haru, he broke down in his house. The tears wouldn't stop coming. It was a waterfall of pain and sorrow.
One day on Haru's off day, he decided to stock up on groceries while he can. In-front of his door was a beautiful royal blue envelope with gold letter on it. Haru picked it up out of curiosity. On the envelope had his address, and his name written by someone with a beautiful handwriting.
Haru opened the envelope. He slowly opened the letter, after reading the first line he began to cry. He continued to read the letter, and turns out he's hosting a party for to reconnect with his old friends.
Haru was reluctant to go, but he wanted to see Kambe. He wanted to see the luck lady he managed to get, and who managed to snatch him.
Now here he is, inside the Kambe manor. Suzue asked Haru to come over and visit her, but he refused going like it was the plague. He wanted to abandon his feelings for Daisuke. The memories of him, just as Daisuke did when he ran away.
Haru walked into the beautifully decorated ballroom. People dancing a small bar station, a lounging area, and so much to make. Haru had half a mind to turn around and leave. "Such a beautiful party..." Haru thought seeing his friends all dancing happily and cheering.
"Inspector Haru I'm glad to see you came." Daisuke smiles walking up to his former teammate.
Haru felt his heart clench when he saw Kambe's fiance hooked on his arm. And my god she is a sight for sore eyes. Everything about her is beautiful, her gorgeous emerald eyes. Her chestnut brown hair, half swooped to the side. Her small hourglass build.
Haru plastered a big smile on his face,"Well Daisuke its been awhile."
"That it has." He nodded his head in agreement. "This is my fiance, Koyuki." He gestured towards the lovely girl next to him.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you." She bows politely, "Daisuke has told me many things about you." She smiled closing her eyes.
"So Daisuke was still thinking about me..." He thought blushing lightly.
Haru stared at the lovely couple. He tried to imagine himself holding Daisuke's arm, but it wasn't right. He narrowed his eyebrows at the sudden thought.
Haru chuckled lightly, "I see you ran away, and got yourself engaged."
"Hm, I needed some time to think after the whole ordeal." He replied with a small smile on his face.
"In England I was trying to figure out, what my purpose was for living. And Koyuki helped me find that." He added with a big smile on his face.
Never not even once while the both of them been together for months, has Kambe ever smiled like that around him. He just wanted to brake down and cry so badly. "I'm happy to see that you finally found that special person." Haru replied, "Even if that person wasn't me..." He thought turning around to go hang out with Kamei.
After the whole ordeal with the celebration for Daisuke, and Koyuki. Haru laid on his bed thinking, everything he tried so badly to suppressed came back to bite him in the ass.
Haru wasn't even jealous of Koyuki, in fact he enjoyed watching the couple laugh and greet everyone who showed up. The picture seem right, he felt that if it was him in that position it wouldn't be right.
Haru laughed as all the tears flowed out of his sad golden eyes. "Damn bastard." He mumbled clutching his pillow tightly.
"The way you throw money away. How you don't show emotions like a normal person. Your punch-able, yet handsome face. Your slick back black hair. Damn it all..." Haru cried out.
"I hope you have a happy marriage, you asshole." He mumbled, his bright smile still on his face.
