Work Text:
Why, Jeon Jungkook. Why did my heart have to belong to him.
It all started on a lovely spring day, in lockdown, when I hung out with my friend Jungkook. He was so lovely, so handsome, so perfect.
And I fell head over heels for him.
The next few days, I tried to hide how I felt. I tried to conceal. To ignore. To squash the little happy feeling I felt around him. We giggled . We danced. We enjoyed. We smiled brighter than the sun, and I felt happier than any other of my friends could ever make me feel.
Until, one day, his older brother asked me who I liked. I told him.
I spoke the words into exsistence. I liked Jeon Jungkook.
For the next two months I forgot what I said. The fun was getting funner, and me and Jungkook were getting closer. But he didn't know how I felt about him.
So one day, when the rain came, and the temperature came down, I told him how I felt.
"I'll think about it, Taehyung."
And my heart soared.
The next two weeks were heaven on earth. He knew I liked him, and sometimes he flirted with me. Everything seemed like it was a dream.
Till my heart came down with a crash.
"Sorry to break your heart Tae, but I don't like you back."
I played it off in the moment. "Its fine." I said, giggling. But the next morning, it hit me.
The hardest.
We still were friends. We still hung out together. We still laughed and danced, but it wasn't the same.
"Hey, did you know, Jin-hyung, that Tae likes Jungkook?"
And Hoseok just made it worse.
"Oh yeah. They look so cute together."
"I ship it."
"Why are you always hanging around him?"
"You still like him. I mean, you're always helping him."
"Tae still has a crush."
Why did he have to say no.
"Shut up, bunny head. Everybody knows I'm better at football than you."
"Tea leaf, don't chat."
And that frustration turned to light insults.
I wrecked a beautiful friendship.
Still friends.
But never the same

Hi guys. Thank you for reading. Personally I'm just writing about what happened to me with the members of BTS, because its easier to channel my thoughts by writing. Let me know what you think in the comments!
