Chapter 1: In My Head
Chapter Text
George stared out the window. The sun glistening through, giving his room some light. His monitors screen glowed against his face. He didn’t know what had come over him. He was confused, he felt as if his mind was playing a trick on him. He-
“George, are you there?” Dream asked.
The concern in Dreams voice made George’s face turn to a light shade of pink. It was important for him to keep composure on camera. He didn’t want the chat going wild.
“I’m here. Sorry I got a little distracted” He responded.
“Someone who donated asked if you could go one place where would you go?” Sapnap told him.
He had nearly forgotten he had been streaming.
“Hmm im not sure” he answered.
“What about a plane ticket to Florida” Dream flirted with him jokingly. All three of them broke out into laughter. Would you ever date dream? Another donation said.
“Haha as if, I would never date him” he said sarcastically.
“Oh come on really?” Dream said breaking out into more laughter this time. It sounded as if he could barely breathe. No, not really George thought to himself. Sapnap fell quiet, then dream.
“What did you say?” Dream asked.
Georges stomach dropped. His brain started swirling. Had he said that aloud.? Not only did his friends hear him but thousands, or even millions have heard him say that. He felt as if he could vomit. He couldn’t speak no matter how much he wanted to. He was drowning in his own embarrassment. He finally brought himself to say something.
“I— I didn’t say anything” George said after a long moment of silence.
“Oh..ok then” dream responded.
He hadn’t heard. A heavy weight was lifted from his shoulders. He took a deep breath in and decided it was time to end the stream. He ands friends answered a few last questions from the chat before ending. His hands were shaking from what had just happened. He exited the call between them. He leaned back in his chair. He could feel his body heat escalating. Droplets of sweat dripped down his face. When had I developed these feelings? He thought. The way he talks, his laugh, the way he jokingly flirted with him made him have butteries. He bit his lower lip. His phone made a ding and glew on his bed. He got up from the chair slowly. He looked at his phone which said new snap from sapnap.
Hey the snap read.
Hey George responded.
I heard what you said to dream
He froze in terror.
How had nobody heard but sapnap? He closed snapchat and entered Spotify. Now playing SAD! By xxtentation. He laid on his bed and gazed at the ceiling. Why was dream the only thing on his mind. A tear trickled down his face.
Hey a snap from dream said
He sat upwards. He was always happy to receive messages from dream. But in this particular situation he felt like dying. He HAD to get over whatever he was feeling. The thought of losing him was worse than the feeling of not being able to have him.
Hey
Are you okay? The next snap read.
Wdym? George replied.
No, he wasn’t okay he thought.
Youve been acting different lately plus your recent Spotify activity says you’ve been listening to SAD
My god he thought. He loved the thought that dream cared but he couldn’t bring himself to say anything else. He sunk into his own thoughts. He felt trapped like he had nowhere to turn. He didn’t mean to ignore his friends but he just couldn’t face them. Buzz buzz. His phone started to ring. It was dream.
“h-hello?” He said as he picked up the phone nervously.
“What is up with you?” Dream asked him.
There was a long silence
“I’m not sure” George confessed. He was a mess.
“Do you want to talk about?” Dream asked him again.
No matter what he wanted, he couldn’t talk about it with him.
“No- but can we just stay like this” he asked dream.
“Of course” dream said softly. He had never felt such comfort in dreams voice. He sounded so soft and caring. The call was silent. It wasn’t an awkward silence, but a comforting silence. They could just sit there on call, without having to talk, and it wouldn’t feel strange. He hadn’t noticed that the beautiful blue sky had been flooded with dark grey clouds. It started to rain outside.
“Is it raining there?” Dream asked him softly.
“Yeah, it’s nice” George said as he slid open his patio door. He stood in the rain. He let it soak him. For the first time in a long time he felt happy. The rain reminds me of you he thought to himself.
“How come?” He heard dreams voice over the phone. What the fuck is my problem he said to himself. He couldn’t believe he had just said something aloud...again. Now he had to come up with an answer because this time he actually heard.
“Because—“ he stuttered “because the rain makes me happy...it makes me smile...like you do” he said.
Dream giggled. A light pink crept across is face. He wasn’t use to George being so gentle with his words. He was half expecting a feisty reply.
“Are you going soft on me George?” Dream said still laughing a bit.
He giggled. “I would never” George responded. The call fell silent again. His clothes were soaked. He walked back in and heard the water sloshing around in his shoes. He lead a trail of water inside. ding. Both him and Dream got a notification at the same time. you have been invited to a Minecraft YouTuber event on November 24th. This event will take place in Florida. George froze. He must’ve read the notification as well right? He thought. The call had suddenly become intense and awkward.
Chapter 2: His face
Summary:
Soon the date of the mcyt event closes in. George spends his first day with some of his friends. Tension rises as Dream arrives to the party, revealing his face to George for the first time.
Chapter Text
“So…” George said. Their call was getting more awkward by the second.
“You got the notification too?” Dream whispered into the phone.
“Yeah” he responded. It seemed as if dream were just as nervous as him. He wanted to go, this was an opportunity to see dream, face to face. But what if he did go, and destroyed their friendship by telling him how he felt. He was stuck at a crossroad.
“Are you going?” Dream asked with curiosity in his voice.
“I’m— I’m not sure”
“hypothetically, let’s say you did go” Dream continued “you could come a week early…so we could visit each other. I could even invite sapnap and bad…ya know?”
George froze. He wanted him to go..he actually wanted him to come. This made him reconsider his decisions.
“Im not trying to push you or anything” Dream spoke again.
George giggled. “I-I’d love too”.
“Really?” Dream asked.
“Really! and you know...” George continued to speak “this means I’ll get to see your face” he giggled.
“I didn’t even think of that!” Dream gasped over the phone. “I’ll make sure to look extra handsome for you” he wheezed.
George blushed. “Ugh stop saying stuff like that idiot.”
For the next month he got together with all his friends on a discord call everyday planning things. They planned what they were going to do, where they were going to stay, and plane tickets for when the time was right. The day finally came for George to fly out. He packed his clothes, although it was hard for him to figure out the colors due to his colorblindness, and some other essentials. The airport was crowded and since he was smaller he got pushed around a lot. he went through airport security then grabbed some coffee for his trip, it was 6 In the morning after all. He boarded the plane and put is AirPods in. He opened Spotify. What should I listen too? He asked himself. Lemon boy by cavetown? Hmm no. Sweater weather by the neighborhood? Good song but no. Heatwaves..? Yes. Now playing Heatwaves by glass animal’s his phone read. After a couple of hours he landed. “Hey I just landed! Who’s picking me up?” He messaged Dream. “Bad is picking you up. Can’t wait to see you :)”
Dream responded. George’s cheeks turned a rosy pink. He tried to compose himself.
“BOO!” skeepy yelled from behind him.
“SKEPPY” George yelled. They laughed.
“What the fuck is up?”
“HEY LANGUAGE MUFFIN” bad lectured skeppy.
“I didn’t know you’d be here Skeppy!” George said.
“It was a last minute decision” he told him.
George waited for his luggage. When they got it, bad and skeppy helped him carry it out to the car. He sat in the backseat. He was overwhelmed that he would finally get to see Dream. The wait was eating him alive. The car came to a stop. They were at Dreams house. He got out of the car and looked at it in awe. He was so nervous. He dragged his luggage inside. He walked in to see sapnap.
“George, hey!” Sapnap called out.
“Hello” George replied kindly. Sapnap came over to him and whispered something in his ear. “We should talk soon” he whispered. George nervously smiled and looked down. He knew that he was talking about the time he had accidentally mumbled about wanting to date Dream on stream but luckily only sapnap knew. George changed the subject.
“If this is dreams house, where is he?” George said with curiosity in his voice.
“He went out to get something for the Minecraft event next week” sapnap told him.
“So you all have already seen him?”
“Yep”
The front door suddenly bursted open.
“Hey how does this mask look? I think it covers my face pretty well so no one can see me right?” It was Dream. His face was covered with a white circular mask with a smiley face on it. He wore sweatpants and a green hoodie, that looked more like yellow to him, that was covering his hair. Even though he couldn’t see him, he knew his attention was drawn to him. George walked towards him.
“So everyone gets to see your face but me?” He said jokingly.
“The wait must be killing you huh Georgie?”. George got flustered. Everyone started to laugh. Dream pulled down his hoodie. He had silky blonde hair.
“I’ll let you do the honors” Dream said as he bent down a little for George to pull up the mask. He slowly lifted it up. His heart felt like it was about to burst. He admired the blondes features. He had rosy cheeks, and beautiful eyes, they looked yellow to him but he knew they were green. His lips were a pinkish color. Dream avoided eye contact. It was as if he were embarrassed. He gazed up at him because of their large height difference. “Woah— you look...” George paused as Dream made eye contact with him. “Hot?” Skeppy finished his sentence for him. They laughed, George blushed furiously.
“Ugh whatever”. George gave a slight laugh
“You’re Laughing, but not denying” Dream said with another giggle.
“Someone just tell me where my room is” George pouted frustratingly. Then suddenly the door bursted open once again.
“Sorry for the late arrival” Karl said “but you all need to pack your stuff again, I got us a sweet air bnb”. Everyone was still shocked that Karl was here. “Karl!” Sapnap finally said as he ran over to him and practically leaped into his arms for a hug. “Okay lovebirds let’s get packing” they both blushed then looked away from each other. They split up into two cars. Sapnap, Dream and George in one car and Skeppy, bad, and Karl in another. Dream couldn’t leave patches, his cat, alone by herself so he brought patches with them. George sat in the back while Dream drove and Sapnap had called front seat. George was snuggling with Patches. “Awe you’re such a cutie, isn’t that right Patches?” He said in a cute little voice. Dream giggled.
“What?” George asked.
“Nothing I just think it’s cute how Patches loves you so much.”
George giggled and they pulled up to the air bnb. All of them stood in awe, the air bnb was huge. George slowly picked up Patches while sapnap and dream took the luggage in. Karl. Bad, and Skeppy, were waiting inside. Bad and Skeppy had called rooms right next to each other, and had a shared bathroom. George had claimed a room already while the rest were still setting up. Karl and Sapnap were sharing a room that had two separate beds. This left dream who claimed the room next to George, they were also going to be sharing a bathroom.
Dream got to the bathroom first. He put heatwaves on repeat while showering. After a couple of minutes George started banging on the door.
“DREAM” he yelled.
George knew he couldn’t hear him over the loud music. He heard dream pause it.
“Dream” he said again.
“What?”
“I left my hairbrush in the bathroom, can I come in?” George mumbled. Dream threw on a towel before saying “come in”.
“Thank—“ he cut himself off when he saw dream, who was only wearing a towel around his waste. Pink crept across his face. He couldn’t help but stare.
“Like what you see?” Dream teased with a devilish smirk. George got angry.
“Ugh as if” George grabbed his hairbrush and dramatically exited the bathroom. Dream rolled his eyes and giggled.
——————————————
George was the last one downstairs for dinner. Instead of cooking they ordered McDonald’s, it had been a long day, they didn’t have the energy to cook. George grabbed some chicken nuggets and some chocolate milk. He sat done with the rest of them on the kitchen island. “Well what are we going to do tonight” bad asked. “Ooo let’s watch a scary movie” sapnap said. Bad and George gave a look to each other. They both hated scary movies. The couch was big so all of them had enough room to sit. George plopped himself down next to dream. They all agreed on watching IT 2. A small girl in the movie had walked under the bleachers, the clown popped out. George flinched and hugged Dream for comfort. He heard Karl and Sapnap laughing about the scene. Psychopaths he thought.
“Georgie” Dream jokingly said. He let his grip go of dream and saw everyone giggling. He sat up and gave a small hmph. The next scary scene George practically jumped into Dreams arms. He was shivering out of fear. “I hate scary movies” he mumbled. Dream didn’t do anything but tighten his grip around George. He felt safe as Dream held him. He buried his head into dream chest and dozed off into a deep sleep.

Chapter Text
George woke up. It took him a moment to figure out where he was. He had fallen asleep with dream on the couch. He and Dream were tangled up with each other, He was clinging to dreams hoodie and his face was still buried into his chest. He looked up and saw Sapnap and bad watching them while giggling. George gave them a death glare. He had to make is way over dream to get up. As he was climbing directly above him dream woke up.
“Good morning sunshine~” he said tiredly smirking. Sapnap and Bad bursted out with laughter.
“Oh my god” George said. His face started to burn. He climbed over Dream and stood up.
“That was not what it looked like”
“Oh, then what was it?” Dream flirting joked.
“I was just trying to get up!” George replied angrily.
Sapnap started dying of laughter. George glared angrily at Sapnap. He strutted over to him and grabbed his ear, dragging him to the front door. “We’ll be right back” George said slamming the door behind them. Skeppy and Karl popped their heads out of the kitchen. “Well this can’t be good” Karl said to all of them.
“SAPNAP” George said as he dramatically started walking down the sidewalk.
“Ow my ear hurts” Sapnap replied.
“YOU CANNOT JUST LAUGH AT ME LIKE THAT”
“Why? does it make you frustrated?” Sapnap said laughing
“NO IT MAKES ME ANGRY BECAUSE I LIKE HIM” George realized what he had just said. He immediately cupped his hands over his mouth.
“Woah” they said in sync.
“If you want to feel any better, this week is the perfect opportunity to tell him how you feel” Sapnap said genuinely.
“I can’t…I’ll mess everything up, he’s my best friend. But…”
“But?”
“But I love him. Sapnap what do I do..”
Sapnap gave a small laugh. “You shouldn’t be worried. If anything he probably feels the same way you do. I see the way you look at each other”. George blushed. The walk back home was a nice silence. They arrived and opened the door to see everyone eating breakfast. They sat down.
“Are you guys okay?” Skeppy asked politely
“Yeah we’re fine” George replied.
“What happened?” Dream asked.
George and Sapnap looked at each other then looked away before saying “nothing” at the same time. Breakfast was very awkward for all of them. George finally broke the silence.
“What do we have planned for today?”
“We’re just gonna have a fun day out in the pool” replied Karl.
George gulped. Although this did sound fun, George had never learned how to swim. As they finished up breakfast George walked up to his room. He had put on some swim trunks and a plain white tee. He took a towel down and was wearing sunglasses that looked similar to his Minecraft character’s. He made his way down to the pool. He sat beside the pool with his feet dangling in the water. “Cannonball!!” Dream shouted as he jumped and and got George wet.
“DREAM” George shouted angrily.
“What, you were eventually gonna get wet” he laughed.
“Actually I wasn’t planning on getting in” George said as he admired dream who was shirtless.
“What! Why not, come swim with me” Dream tugged on his arm.
“Dream—“ George was dragged in, he held the wall so he wouldn’t sink.
“Dream” he said again while his arm was being tugged at. Obviously dream wasn’t going to listen.
“Clay” he said this time. Dream knew he only called him his real name if he was being serious.
“I—“ he stuttered for a moment “I can’t swim” he said quietly. Dream looked surprised.
“Jeez I’m so sorry George, that could’ve ended badly” Dream said with a slight frown on his face.
“Its okay” he replied kindly.
George was in the water so he threw off his shirt, which was now soaked. Dream reached his hand out for George, signaling him to grab it. He took his hand as Dream pulled him in closer. He forgot dream was tall enough that he could stand in this side of the pool. Dream lifted him up a little so that his head was poking out of the water. George’s legs wrapped around his waist and his arms around his neck. “SKEPPY” they heard bad yell, they turned around to see what was going on. Skeppy had pushed bad into the pool. They giggled.
Dream carried George to the shallow end of the pool and George placed his feet down on the ground where he could stand. They laughed as bad lectured Skeppy, like usual. They played and splashed around in the pool, Dream and Skeppy were trying to see who had the biggest cannonball. Bad and George were playing with a beach ball in the shallow end, while Karl and Sapnap were grilling some food. When they heard the food was ready, they all leaped out of the pool except for George, who was slowly making his way to the edge because he couldn’t swim. “Hurry up George!” They called. George was going as fast he could, it was hard to walk in water. Dream came over and offered George his hand. George grabbed his hand and Dream pulled him out of the water. They all ate lunch . George laid out in the sun, there was a small breeze which made him shiver a bit. Dream came over and laid down next to him.
“Hey” Dream said
“Hi” George replied. He shivered again as another breeze came by.
“Are you cold?”
“A little”
“Ill grab you one of your hoodies” Dream said as he stood up. George grabbed his hand.
“Nono! Its okay, its really not necessary”
“I don’t mind, I’ll be right back”
Dream gave him a smile. He returned a couple minutes later and handed George a hoodie. The other four, who were in the pool, silently watched them.
“Dream is such a simp” Karl whispered. They tried hard to contain their laughter.
“I bet they end up together or at least kissing by the end of this trip” Sapnap whispered to the group.
“Well I bet that they almost end up kissing but they don’t” Skeppy whispered back.
“Are you guys really going to bet on their relationship?” Bad said in his lecturing tone.
“Yes” they said in sync.
“How much are we betting?” Skeppy asked.
“50 dollars”
“Lets make this interesting…” Skeppy continued “100 dollars”. Sapnap thought for a moment before answering.
“Deal”

Summary:
It’s Dream and George’s turn to make breakfast, but they have a small moment in the rain instead. When Breakfast approaches, George checks Twitter for the first time in days, only to find a surprise.
Notes:
Blood warning ⚠️
Chapter Text
George was at his house, In a small room. Dream stood before him, stickers scattered all over his mask. George giggled at the sight of it. There was an unknown tension between them, as if their relationship was as fragile as a bubble. The bubble was bound to pop. Dream came over to him and placed a kiss on his cheek. He had stepped over un-named boundaries by doing this. Dream placed his hand against his cheek. “George” he said. His name repeated over and over in mind till dream faded from his reach.
“GEORGE”
George woke up from his dream only to see Karl hovering above him, yelling. He groaned as he sat up.
“What” he uttered tiredly.
“You and Dream are making breakfast today” Karl said as he exited the room.
George dramatically flopped onto the bed. He lied on the bed listening to the pitter patter of the rain outside. Patches sat on the end of his bed. It was silent in the house. There was something so relaxing about the rain. He listened to the world around him as he laid still. George sat up once again. He slowly got up as he changed into some sweats and a tee. He picked up patches and walked through the bathroom, which lead to dreams room. Dream was awake, staring at the ceiling as he lied on his bed. He plopped Patches down on the floor. “There you go honey” he whispered. Dream chucked. He sat upwards on his bed. George came over and sat beside him.
“You like the sound of the rain too?” George asked him.
“Yeah, it calms me down when I’m overwhelmed, it always has” Dream confessed.
George made eye contact with the blonde. He had bags under his eyes as if he hadn’t slept. He admired him for a moment.
“I-I was about to go outside in the rain...if you’d like to join me” George said genuinely.
“Sure”
They both walked down the stairs. They passed by the living room to see Skeppy and Bad cuddled up together. George couldn’t help but let out a small giggle. They walked out onto the porch. George stepped out into the rain and let it soak him. Eventually dream came out and stood beside him. They stood in silence for a moment. Georges eye caught a glimpse of something. He walked over to a flower that was glistening in the rain. His eyes shimmered as he admired its beauty.
“Dance with me?”
George turned around to see Dream holding his hand out towards him. He stared in shock as a light pink crept across both of their faces. George looked away trying to hide his face as he grabbed dreams hand. Dream pulled him up, George had to look up to see his face due to the height difference. Dream twirled George around and pulled him back in making George chuckle. They spun around some more and Dream dipped George. George stared into Dreams eyes.
“You’re a good dancer” George muttered as his cheeks glowed a bright red.
“You’re not so bad yourself” Dream responded as he smiled.
Everyone else had already awoken from their slumber. Sapnap groaned in annoyance.
“I’m starvinggg” he said, exaggerating the ends of his words.
“Where are those two, I thought I told them to make breakfast” Karl uttered. They heard Bad gasp from in the living room. They made their way over from the kitchen to see bad and Skeppy staring outside. “What’s going on—“ Sapnap cut himself off as they watched Dream and George outside.
Dream held George. One hand was on his lower back while the other held his hand. He kept staring at the brunette, his chestnut eyes stared back at him. They didn’t move, both were admiring the other. Karl bursted through the patio door.
“could you guys stop flirting for two seconds and cook breakfast”
Everyone had been watching them. George stood up and hid behind Dream from embarrassment. Both their faces were bright red. Dream grabbed George’s hand as he pulled him inside. They both walked upstairs, leaving wet footsteps behind them. They changed into dry clothes and headed back towards the kitchen.
“What should we make?” Dream asked.
“I’m not sure, I can’t cook to save my life” George responded.
“Let’s makes some muffins” Dream said. George nodded in agreement. They decided to make blueberry muffins. Dream cleaned the berries and put them into a bowl with the muffin batter. George tried to stir it all together but was having a difficult time. Dream chuckled. He stood behind George.
“Here, let me help you” he muttered. Dream put both his hands over George’s, their fingers intertwined. He guided George’s hands over the spoon and stirred the batter together. Dreams body was pressed against George’s. George could feel the warmth of Dreams body. He bit his lower lip. As they finished stirring, Dream poured the batter into the pan while George cut some fruit. George couldn’t help but wonder if he and Dream could actually be together. What if it wasn’t meant to be or what if they were moving to fast. He escaped the overwhelming thoughts when he felt the blade of the knife cut through the palm of his hand. He yelped in pain as blood trickled down his arm. The sting of the cut made tears form In his eyes. He put his opposite hand over his mouth, trying not to cry as he bit down on his tongue. Dream looked over at George to see blood dripping down onto the floor.
“George!” He said with worry in his voice. He ran over towards him and George turned around to face him. There was a deep cut on his hand with non-stop blood pouring from the cut. Tears fell down the brunette’s face.
“Oh George” Dream said as he placed his hand on his cheek, wiping away the tears with his thumb.
“You’ll be okay, let me grab the first aid kit”
Dream rushed upstairs and rummaged around in their bathroom until he found the first aid kit. George followed Dream upstairs and sat on the bathroom counter. Dream used a dry towel and held it on the cut to try and stop the blood. Once he managed to stop it, he took out hydrogen peroxide to clean the wound. George pulled his hand away.
“I don’t want you to use that” he muttered quietly.
“It’ll only sting for a second...you can hold my hand if it helps” Dream responded.
With his opposite hand, George held dreams free hand. He squeezed it as Dream poured the hydrogen peroxide on the open wound. He flinched at the sting. Dream bandaged up his hand.
“See? All better gogy”
George opened his eyes to see that his other hand was all bandaged up. He got flustered by the fact that Dream called him by his nickname. He still held dreams hand.
“Thank you Clay” he said shyly as he tried to hide his blushing face. Dreams face also grew a light shade of pink. He let go of his hand and made their way back down the stairs. Dream finished up breakfast. Everyone came in and ate.
“These muffins are great!” Bad told the duo. Dream smiled as a form of a “thank you” instead of responding verbally. George poked at his muffin. The events that happened this morning had caused him to lose his appetite. He drew his attention to Sapnap, who was on his phone. Spending time with his friends had made him forgotten all about social media. He heard a vibration come from his phone.
“You might want to check Twitter” a snap from Sapnap read. He looked up from his phone to see the worry in his eyes as they made eye contact. He opened Twitter and his eyes grew in fear as he saw what was the #1 trending.
Chapter 5: Unsteady
Summary:
George has discovered that the clip of where Sapnap figured out his feeling for Dream, was now trending all over Twitter. During his final days in Florida, he has an emotional breakdown and Dream is there to comfort him.
Chapter Text
George stared down at his phone, his eyes full of fear. He held back his tears and gulped. He clicked the trending hashtag.
“I-I’m going to step outside” he said, his voice was shaking. He slowly made his way out to the front, he could feel all his friends eyes on him as he left. He played the clip from Twitter. The audio was edited and boosted so you could clearly hear what he had said. It was the audio from a few months ago when Sapnap had learned George’s true feelings about Dream on stream. “no not really” you could hear him say when Dream asked if he really wouldn’t date him. he played the clip over and over. His heart sank knowing that this was the way Dream would find out about his feelings. It was horrible, it wasn’t supposed to be like this he thought. Tears poured down his cheeks. His hand trembled as he grabbed the doorknob. He walked inside with his head hanging low. He tried to hide his face.
“George?” Dream said as he watched the brunette pass by them. George gulped. He said nothing and stood very still. He turned his head slowly and looked at the group. His eyes were red and puffy from the tears. Dreams face grew in worry as they made eye contact. George said nothing and started making his way upstairs.
“George!” Dream said as he pulled George back to face him. He placed one hand on his shoulder and the other held his face.
“Please tell me what’s wrong” Dream pleaded. George only looked away.
“Please..” More tears started to flood George’s eyes. George pushed him away.
“You’ll—you’ll only make it worse!” George told him as he sprinted up the stairs. Dream closely followed behind him. George slammed the bathroom door in Dreams face and locked him out from both sides. Dream banged on the bathroom door.
“George please unlock the door” he yelled as he banged again.
“Leave me alone Clay”
“I’m not leaving...I care about you”. The words made George blush. The feeling soon disappeared when his stomach felt as if it were twisted in a knot. the gut wrenching feeling made him vomit.
Dream, who was desperately trying to get in, made an attempt to kick down the door. George knew what he had tried to do .
“Stop it clay you’re gonna hurt yourself!” George yelled.
“I don’t care as long as YOU don’t hurt yourself”.
“I won’t”
“I’ll be here to talk when you’re ready” Dream muttered through the door. There was nothing but an awkward silence. George finally spoke up.
“It was Twitter” George mumbled.
“Why? What’s happening on there?” Dream whipped out his phone as he spoke. George could hear him outside the door, fiddling with the coins in his pockets and grabbing his phone.
“NO WAIT” George yelped. Dream paused what he was doing.
“Don’t check Twitter”
“Why—“ Dream was cut off.
“Please” George sniffled. “I need to tell you for myself but...I’m not ready”
Dream agreed not to look. George slid his back down against the door. He hugged his knees to his chest and fell asleep.
George awoke on the cold, bathroom tile floor. He blinked his eyes open slowly, and crawled to where his phone laid. George squinted his eyes from his bright phone screen. He checked the time. 4am his phone read. He turned on the bathroom lights. He brushed his teeth and washed his face to feel somewhat refreshed. He looked in the mirror to see his eyes were still red and puffy from all the crying from earlier. George stared at the door. Some of him wished that Dream would be there, waiting for him at the door. He walked towards it and bent down on his knees. He touched the door with one of his hands.
“Dream?” He whispered. He waited quietly, desperately hoping for a response. He was greeted with silence. He slumped down sadly against the door.
“Yes?” He heard a whisper back. Dream was still there. He slowly got up and unlocked the door. He stepped back as he watched the doorknob jiggle. Dream walked in. His eyes were also red and puffy. They had bags under them as well. He ran up to Dream and hugged him tightly.
“I’m so sorry for making you worried” he said as he buried his face into Dreams chest. When there was no response from Dream, George looked up at the blonde. Both of them were crying.
“Don’t ever scare me like that again” Dream said as he hugged him tighter. They stayed like that for a while.
“You should get some sleep” George said softly.
“I’d rather stay with you” Dream answered back.
“I mean...we could share a bed tonight? If that’s okay with you” George said as he looked up to Dream. He hid his blushing face in Dreams chest. Dream gave him a small chuckle. Dream lifted George up. Making sure not to fall, George immediately clung his legs around Dreams waist and wrapped his arms around his neck. Dream held George’s lower back in order to keep him up. George looked up at Dream who smiled at him. George’s face had become a bright pink from embarrassment. George looked away from Dream.
“You’re Ridiculous” he muttered before resting his head on Dreams shoulder. Dream carried George to his room and waited for George to change before plopping down on Dreams bed. They both agreed they weren’t tired so George wiped out his phone to play Netflix. He rested his arm on Dreams chest while he held his phone. Dream occasionally looked over and stared at George. George caught him staring and all Dream did was chuckle.
“What?” George asked yawning.
“Nothing you’re just really cute when you’re tired” Dream admitted. Pink crept across George’s face.
“You’re such a dork” George giggled. He shut off his phone and placed it on the nightstand. He laid facing Dream and rested his head on Dreams arm.
“Go to sleep Dream” George told him. Dream patted George’s head.
“Goodnight gogy”
The next day George woke up to find that the warm body that had laid beside him last night had disappeared. He shivered from coldness and quickly grabbed a hoodie. He slipped it on, although it was rather large. He grabbed his phone and headed downstairs. He walked into the kitchen to see everyone.
“Good morning” he said as he entered. Everyone greeted him.
“Are you feeling any better?” Bad asked him. He had completely forgotten he had a mental breakdown yesterday, in front of everyone. He sat down on a kitchen stool.
“I’m alright, thanks for asking” he smiled. Sapnap handed him a plate of food, he slowly started to eat. George broke the awkward silence.
“Sooo where’s Clay?” He asked curiously.
“Aww missing your boyfriend Georgie?” Sapnap teased.
“He’s not my boyfriend”
“Then who’s hoodie are you wearing?”. George looked down. He noticed that the hoodie had a smiley face on it. He was wearing Dreams hoodie. He now realized why it was so large. He blushed.
“I-I wasn’t paying attention when I grabbed it! It was cold in Dreams room and—“ he was cut off by Sapnap.
“So you spent the night in Dreams room?”. Hearing the words come out of Sapnaps mouth nearly caused him to choke on his food. He took an empty water bottle and threw it at Sapnap.
“Hey what was that for?” He giggled. All George did was turn away from him. He gave a small “hmph”.
“Okok I’ll stop, I promise.” Sapnap had a more serious tone of voice. George smiled at him. Before they knew it, they heard the front door open.
“Hey I got coffee and— wait is that my hoodie?” Dream gave a small laugh. He stared at George.
“Sorry I was cold” George looked away from him.
“No worries, it looks better on you anyways”. A light pink crept across George’s face. Dream sat down next to George. George looked over towards Dream. He still had bags under his eyes.
“I thought I told you to get some sleep?” He said sternly.
“I...wasn’t tired” Dream muttered.
“Really?” George sighed.
“I just wanted to make sure you were okay” Dream whispered to him. George’s eyes widened at the words. They stared at each other for a brief moment before they got flustered, and looked away. George turned his head to listen to the conversation the others were having.
“We should probably start getting prepared” Skeppy told them.
“for?” George asked.
“The event is tomorrow”. George couldn’t believe that his time in Florida was coming to an end. The words repeated over and over in his head. Tomorrow. He had to tell Dream how he felt, and soon. He wouldn’t have another opportunity like this. It was now or never.
Chapter 6: I lose my cool
Summary:
The crew decides to play a childish game of “7 minutes in heaven”. When George and Dream are locked in a closet together, the truth comes out.
Chapter Text
George twiddled his thumbs together from anticipation. The bright sun had now set and the moon now glistened outside. All his friends sat on the living room rug together.
“What game should we play?” Karl asked. They all were silent, figuring out who would be the first to suggest a game.
“What about 7 minutes in heaven?” Skeppy suggested.
“Absolutely not, thats childish” Bad said as he tried to convince Skeppy.
“I’m down” Dream chimed in. After much back and fourth disagreements about if they should play the game or not, they finally came to an agreement. Bad was up first. He took the bottle and spun it. George watched the movement of the bottle as it continued to rotate in the repeated circular motion. The bottle came to a stop as the tip of it pointed towards George. He gave a small nervous cough as he looked towards Bad, and then at Dream. Sapnap directed them towards a small closet in the hallway and locked them in. Bad gave a small chuckle.
“You weren’t exactly who I was hoping for” Bad told him.
“Oh? Who were you…” George cut himself off not knowing if he should’ve asked him that straight forward.
“I’m sorry”
“No it’s alright” Bad said. He continued to speak, “I was actually hoping for Skeppy” Bad said as a light pink crept across his face. A small grin formed across Georges face. He was glad to see that his friend was Happy with someone.
“You were hoping for Dream weren’t you?” Bad questioned him. George blushed from embarrassment.
“Is it really that obvious?” They both shared a laugh.
“I was thinking about telling Dream how I felt tonight..”
“Woah that’s brave…I’m proud of you George”
“Thanks Bad”. They both stood in a comfortable silence till their 7 minutes were up. They plopped back down on the carpet. As he watched everyone take their turns, the bottle was passed to Dream. He spun the bottle. George watched as the tip of the bottle landed on him. He watched as Dream got up and offered George his hand. They were guided back to the small, cramped closet.
“Well hey” Dream said nervously.
“Hi” George softly greeted him. Dream hovered over George and placed his hand on the wall next to him.
“You look cute when you’re flustered” Dream teased. George looked away and gave a small giggle.
“Stop” he said jokingly. Dream giggled.
“You look good in that hoodie too”. George titled his head to look at Dream.
“Really?” He asked. This time, he wasn’t joking. Dream could tell he was asking a genuine question. Dream took his hand off the wall. He hunched over due to the closet not being tall enough for him to stand in. He gave a small, nervous chuckle.
“Yeah”.
They both stood in an Awkward silence before George started to talk again.
“I can’t tell if you’re joking”
“What?” Dream looked at him in confusion. He must admit that he did tease him a lot, but he wanted George to know that he meant it. George looked away, he was still unsure. Dream got frustrated.
“You are the most Gorgeous person I’ve ever seen” he blurted out. George drew his attention back to Dream, his eyes widened.
“You’re smart, hilarious”
“I—“
“Not to mention you are the most incredible person I’ve ever met”. George stood still in shock. They both could feel the tension growing between them. The silence grew louder every moment.
“I saw what was trending on twitter” Dream said breaking the Awkward silence.
“What?”
“I saw what you said”. The words bounced back in forth in Georges mind. His eyes widened as they grew in fear. Tears flooded from his eyes.
“You told me you wouldn’t look!” He yelled furiously.
“It’s not that big of a deal”
“Well it’s a big deal to me”. His voice was shaky.
“Why?” Dream muttered. George nearly lost it.
“Do I really have to say it? Do I really have to tell you that I’m hopelessly in love with you? And that every time I’m with you I feel like I’m floating. You’re mesmerizing and breathtaking, and all I want to do is sink into your arms. I’ve been falling for you so fast. I completely lose my cool around you..”
…
“You lose your cool when you’re with me?”
“I melt when I’m with you”
Both males faces glowed a bright red. They both were sweating from the conversation. George felt relief by telling this to Dream, like a heavy weight had been lifted from his Shoulders. He made eye contact with Dream. He studied his features like he first did when they met. He lost himself in Dream’s green gaze. He looked at the faded freckles across his cheeks. He took his hand and placed it on Dreams face, which was unexpected from Dreams end. He ran his hand gently down Dreams jaw. Dream didn’t dare move. George ran his fingers by Dreams slightly chapped lips. They were soft, and a light pink color.
Oh, how kissable they looked.
George’s hand made his way to the blondes silky hair. It was smooth and soft. He ran his fingers through it. He could feel sweat drip down his face. He felt safe as he kept playing with Dream’s hair. He focused his attention back to him as Dream quietly whispered the words,
“I’ll always be here for you”
“I know”
Dream cupped his hands around George’s face. George stared back into his loving green eyes as Dream leaned closer in and placed a kiss on his forehead. More tears started to form in the Brunettes eyes. It was a bittersweet moment as he melted into Dream’s arms. The the door suddenly swung open and they were greeted by a bright light. They squinted from it due to being in a closet for so long.
“Your 7 minutes is—“ Sapnap grew in worry as he saw Tears pouring from George’s eyes as Dream held him.
“Are you guys okay?”
“Don’t worry Sapnap they’re happy tears” George gave a small smile. He wiped the salty tears away. They all had decided to stop playing the game, and perhaps watch a movie instead. Bad and George made a pillow fort together. As they cuddled up in the pile of blankets, George thought to himself. He knew that going on this trip would forever change their relationship. He couldn’t help but wonder if he was making a huge mistake, if they were moving too fast. Dream’s friendship was the best thing he had at the moment, and he would hate himself if he managed to ruin it.
“George, are you okay?” Bad asked him as George left his thoughts.
“Oh yeah, just thinking…”
“Did you tell him?” Bad whispered.
“Yeah”
“How’d it go?”. George paused for a moment before answering this question.
“I’m not sure, I don’t think he really told me how he felt” He whispered to bad.
“Now that I mention it..I think I was so caught up in my own feelings that I didn’t give him chance to tell me his” Guilt flooded over George as the words rolled off his tongue. He looked down in disappointment.
“Awe George, I’m sure his feelings are probably mutual” Bad said in comforting tone. Karl poked his head inside the fort.
“Who wants popcorn!” He said as he tumbled in and placed the popcorn down. The others all came hurdling into the fort as well. They all cuddled up in the blankets, huddled close together while they shared each others company. They put on a movie as well. None of them were really paying attention to the movie and were instead, on their phones or perhaps talking to each other. He and Dream yawned at the same time. Seconds later he received a snap from Dream.
You know when you yawn at the same time as someone, it means that you love them ;)
George looked over at Dream to see him smirking. George started typing in snapchat.
You’re such a dork
Rude :(
George looked over at Dream and stuck out his tongue to taunt him. They both gave a small giggle then yawned at the same time once again. George desperately tried to stay awake before he eventually gave up and rested his head on Dreams shoulder.

Chapter Text
George woke up to find Dream’s hand scooped under him. They had all fallen asleep in the pillow fort. There were blankets scattered all across the floor, making it difficult for George to find his phone amongst the sleeping bodies. He desperately tried not to wake up Dream before sighing and giving up on the search for his phone.
“Having a difficult time finding something?” Dream muttered. George sat up to look at his face, then threw a pillow at him.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were up!” He said furiously. Dream giggled. George now realized that his phone had been under the pillow he had thrown at Dream. He picked it up and his eyes widened as he looked at the time.
“Get up, get up!!!” He shouted at everyone. As they all got up, they were confused as to why George was screaming.
“What’s going on?” Skeppy asked.
“We have an hour till the event, we have to get ready quickly, or we’ll be late”
They all rushed up to get ready. Earlier in the trip they all decided they would dress up as their Minecraft characters. They split up in two cars as they had done before. George plopped in the backseat since Sapnap had called shotgun. Dream turned on the car and they stared at the front of the screen to see the clock say 11:30.
“oh fuck” Dream and Sapnap said in sync.
“We’re gonna be late” George face palmed.
“They should just be glad we’re deciding to show up” Sapnap said with a light hint of amusement in his voice. George rolled his eyes. They pulled up to the back of the building where the event was being held. Dream put the car in park and put his cosplay mask on to cover his face.
“I like you better without the mask” George stared up at him in amusement.
“Oh really?” Dream said, going along with the jokingly tone they had.
“Yes Dream”
A small giggle left Dreams mouth, “hmm okay George” he responded back.
Sapnap rolled his eyes in annoyance, “You guys are just making us even later then we were before” he said with a smile. They followed Sapnap into the crowd of people. There were thousands of people In this building, swarming in a crowd. George lost sight of Dream and Sapnap as he was being swallowed by the heard of people.
“Dream?” He called out.
He heard a shout in the distance, “George?”.
He followed the voice until he saw Dreams tall appearance in the distance. “Dream!” He called out again. He made a small hand movement so Dream could see him. Once Dream made his way over, he took Georges hand and guided him towards the backstage entrance.
“Thanks” George mumbled. Dream patted George’s head in response. He must admit, he loved looking at Dream face, but with the mask he couldn’t tell Dream’s facial expression. He could see Dream clutching his fists. He was just as nervous as George was. George tugged at Dreams arm as he watched Dream tilt his head down towards him.
“You don’t have to be Nervous, I’ll be right by your side” George told him.
“I-I…t-thanks” Dream whispered. They went out to sit at their booths, They greeted fans, took and signed pictures for them as well. Sooner than they knew it, it was over. After they had finished, they went to visit other booths and shops. George purchased stickers and placed them all over Dreams mask. George couldn’t help but burst out in laughter.
“Oh you like that hm?” He asked in a jokingly manner.
“You look—“ George cut himself off as he laughed and gasped for air “You look ridiculous”.
“Yeah, we’ll see about that” Dream started to tickle George as they laughed together.
“No stop!” George said giggling as Dream chased him around. Dream caught George and put stickers all over his face. George crossed his arm and turned away jokingly in his defeat to being caught.
Dream wheezed, “Frustrated?” He asked.
“Whatever” he pouted. Dream hit his shoulder playfully.
“There’s an after party for the content creators of the event, we should get home to change” Dream told George. He followed Dream out to the car and sat in the front seat next to him.
“Where’s Sapnap?” George asked.
“He left with the others because apparently we were taking to long”
“Typical”
Dream took off his mask so he could see better while driving. George couldn’t help but glance over at times. He stared over once and made eye contact with Dream. Dream smiled at him before quickly turning back to he road. They arrived at the house only to find no one there. They jumped out of the car to change and got back into the car shortly. They arrived at a two story house, there were warm lights beaming from the windows and George could hear people shouting from inside. They walked in and regrouped with their friends, they all had a couple of drinks. George decided to separate from the rest to go make friendly conversation with new people.
Dream stared at George and all the sweaty bodies surrounding him. George was too oblivious to see they were clearly flirting with him. Dreams frustration grew as he gave a tch , and took a sip of his beer. Sapnap followed the blondes gaze to figure out the cause of his frustration.
“Ohhh, I see” Sapnap tilted his head to look at Dream, “Jealous?” He asked.
“Whatever” Dream mumbled as he shifted his attention back to George. The open patio door swept a cold breeze through out the house, and he watched as George shivered. He gazed as these people made little flirting attempts, trying to pull off their hoodies to give to him.
“Your just gonna let some random people give George a hoodie?” Sapnap muttered to him with a smile. Dream rolled his eyes as he set down his third beer. Dream pushed his way past the drunk, sweaty bodies and pulled off his hoodie. He tossed it onto Georges head. George took the piece of clothing that was blocking his vision and spun around in confusion. He looked up to fine Dream’s green gaze staring at him lovingly.
“Thank you” George said. Dream blushed from embarrassment. George tugged at Dreams arm and asked, “Help me put it on?”.
Dream slipped the hoodie onto to George as he watched his head pop lazily out. The oversized hoodie hung almost all the way down to his knees. Dream stared at George not realizing his hand was on his waist. George wrapped his hands around Dreams neck, finding newfound confidence from all the drinks. Dream flushed not knowing what to do next. They stared into each others eyes, lost in their own world. They both drew their attention to the song that played suddenly in the background.
Playing cool makes me lose my mind
I can't be someone I don't recognize
I'm not the type to have to say it twice
Or wait for you 'til the end of the night
The words from the song hit George like a bullet. He returned his gaze to Dream, and shook away how relatable the song lyrics were to the situation he was put in when he arrived to Florida.
“You’re very oblivious to those guys flirting attempts” Dream told him.
“Maybe I was just pretending that I didn’t notice” George said with bravery.
I've been falling fast and you don't seem to move
But is it worse for me
If I tell the truth?
“Hmm, and why would that be?” Dream said with an eyebrow raised and a devilish smirk.
“Maybe I’m waiting for someone else. Someone who’ll take care of me, and love me”
And are you just a poison that I shouldn't use?
Wish I could say to you
What I can't say to you
“What if you didn’t have to wait?”
George got flustered at the words. He looked up at Dream, finding it harder than ever to look at him. He tightened his grip around Dream, as Dream held his waist with both hands. Dream leaned down and parted his lips. George leaned in, the gap between them started closing, little by little. Before their lips could do anything more than barely brush, they heard a cough from the background. Both of them tilted their heads to see that they had an audience. Dream gave a deathly glare at the people staring, which scared them off. They both backed away from each other.
“I’m gonna..” George muttered, his cheeks were a bright red.
“Okay..” Dream said as he looked away. George exited the room.
Skeppy glared at Sapnap. “Looks like I won the bet” he whispered.
“Yeah yeah, whatever”
“Pay up”
Sapnap handed him the money.
“Well were gonna leave you to deal with Dream” Skeppy scoffed as he, bad, and Karl left the room. Sapnap rolled his eyes. Dream walked over to the bar where he drank before. He was fuming with rage at the people who unkindly ruined their moment.
“You should go after him” Sapnap told him softly. Dream raised an eyebrow at him.
“Its now or never Dream”
He knew Sapnap was right. He slightly nodded his head and went outside to look for George. The cold, night breeze swept over Dream. He looked around to see George laying the the grass. He walked over and plopped down right beside him.
“What are you doing?” Dream asked him softly.
“Just thinking” George responded as he sat up. “The moon looks really pretty, doesn’t it?” George told him.
“Yeah”
They sat in silence for a bit. Dream admired George as the moonlight lit up his face. Dream couldn’t help but stare and get a bit flustered. He thought George was the most beautiful person in his life after all.
“You know, this is my last day here” George said breaking the silence.
“I know”
“What about us?” George asked.
“I-I don’t know…what are we?” Dream questioned.
“I’m not sure”. George sat in silence before speaking again.
“ Maybe..we should take it slower ”
The words stung both of them, knowing that they loved each other dearly. But, maybe it was the best option for them in this current situation.
“So…you’re saying—“ George cut Dream off, knowing what he was about to say.
“No, I’m not. I’m saying…when we’re ready”

Chapter Text
George watched as the sun slowly rises. The bright light beamed into his window, which lit up the room. George had been up all night, deep into his own thoughts. He was leaving today, and only in a couple of hours. He wanted to be up so that he could spend more time with his friends before leaving. To spend more time with Dream. He got out of bed, before doing anything, he decided to pack. He folded his clothes and put his accessories into his suitcase. The room where he stayed had become empty, like when they first arrived. George double checked to make sure he had gotten everything from the room. He spun around as he heard the door to his room crack open.
“George?” Dream whispered.
“Come in” George said awkwardly They both locked eyes with each other. Pink crept across Georges face and he coughed nervously.
“I know things last night made things…awkward, but can we just go back to normal…before I leave at least” George asked timidly. Dream giggled at his shyness.
“I’d like that”
They both stared at each other lovingly. Dream admired George for a moment. He noticed the dark bags under Georges eyes.
“Did you sleep?”
“I got enough sleep” he lied. It had been awhile since he had ever stayed up that long, and only got one or two hours of sleep, which was less than enough. He yawned tiredly. Dream looked at him with concern.
“Okay no- you need sleep”. George pouted as he insisted that he would be fine. Dream sighed knowing George was too stubborn to admit he was in fact, exhausted. The current time was 6:00 AM, George’s flight left at 9:15 AM. They only had about three hours before George would have to leave.
“Lets go get some breakfast?” Dream asked George. George nodded in agreement. They both rushed downstairs and Dream quickly grabbed the keys off the kitchen counter. They both hopped in the car as Dream’s gps guided them to a cafe. On the way there, they discussed rules for what would happen when George returned home. They agreed to very little flirtatious jokes during streams, no flirting off stream, it was best they avoided late night or deep conversations, no flirting on social media, and the only exception for a late call is if it was urgent. They could hear the pain in each others voices as they spoke. Dream watched George’s frown fade as his eyes beamed with excitement when they pulled up to the cafe. They both got out of the car as the cool morning breeze swept by. George shivered.
“You never bring a jacket anywhere do you?” Dream gave a light-hearted chuckle.
“Well I didn’t expect it to be chilly seeing that this is Florida”
Dream took off his hoodie and handed it to George. It was the blue one that he sold as his merch. George slipped it on. They entered the cafe to order. There was nobody in line and only saw two girls, sitting and working on paper’s together. He drew his attention to the girl behind the counter who made little flirting attempts while talking to Dream. George dug his nails into his arms, holding back the jealousy he was feeling.
“So what can I get y’all?” The girl asked all smiley.
“Just a plain black coffee and a chocolate muffin please” Dream said. Then he signaled for George to order.
“Um, a Carmel iced coffee please”. The girl gave a small grin and put the total together. She printed out the receipt and handed it to Dream. They thanked her and picked a spot outside to sit. George gave a small laugh as they sat down.
“What?” Dream asked him with a raised eyebrow.
“That girl was totally flirting with you”. George watched Dreams face, as he wasn’t expecting that answer.
“She was not! She was making friendly conversation”
George rolled his eyes, “your sooo oblivious” he exaggerated the ends of his words. Dream gave a small smirk.
“Would you say that you’re jealous?” He joked.
George’s eyes widened, “no” he said blankly.
“Oh come on now, you can admit it”
“In your dreams, pretty boy” George gave a devilish smirk. Dream was taken aback when George flirted back, but nonetheless he gave a small grin.
“Here’s your drinks and your muffin!” The girl said with cheer. They thanked her as she walked away. Before Dream could grab his coffee, George grabbed it first. He turned it to the side and saw her number written on the side of the cardboard that was around the cup.
“Ha!” George laughed in glee because he was right all along. He slid the coffee back to Dream who looked at it for a moment before sliding off the cardboard and throwing it in the trash. George’s eye widened in surprise.
“Bet you weren’t expecting that”, he patted George on the head “I’ll be back, I need to use the restroom”. George watched as he stepped inside the cafe. His muffin, of all things, caught George’s attention. He watched as the gooey chocolate seeped through the muffin top. It looked good. He knew that he was just trying to distract himself. He was trying to distract himself from Dream. He knew that even the thought of him was enough to make him blush, and he would fall for him all over again. His eyes, his smile, his laugh was enough for him to fall head over heels. His thoughts were interrupted as the door to the cafe made a ding. Dream walked out and sat down. He watched as George looked up, then back down, sipped his coffee, eyeing his muffin. He took the muffin and broke it in two.
“You can have half, I wasn’t very hungry anyways”.
George shyly reached his hand out and took the half of the muffin. He muttered a quick thank you before taking it. He poked at it for a bit before taking a bite.
“How is it?” Dream asked.
“It’s good” He replied with a yawn.
Dream could tell his eyes were getting heavy, and insisted they went home. They got in the car, there was a silence that washed over them. Dream looked over at George who had fallen asleep. A small grin crept onto his face. When they arrived him he parked the car. Without thinking twice, Dream picked him up, wedding style. As they made their way to the front door, George blinked his eyes open. He was half awake. He wrapped his arms around Dreams neck.
“Dream?” He said in a groggy voice. “You can put me down”
“No, you’re tired, if I put you down I reckon you’ll fall over”
George didn’t react. All he did was blink and rested his head on Dreams shoulder. Dream walked through the door where everyone was sitting at the kitchen table. He prepared for the backlash he was about to get, seeing that he did just walk in with George in his arms.
“Uh Dream?” Sapnap asked with a confused expression. The others turned to see what was happening.
“Aww how cute” Karl spoke with a goofy grin. Dream rolled his eyes.
“He was tired”. George gave a small hum in agreement. He didn’t move his head, he just kept it resting on Dreams shoulder. Dream turned away and brought George upstairs to his bedroom. He sat up on the bed, rubbing his eyes. Dream checked his phone, 7:49AM it read. They had to leave in 10 minutes.
“Do you have everything packed?” He asked George. George silently nodded, refusing to make eye contact with Dream. He fiddled with the oversized sleeves of Dreams hoodie. Dream sat down beside him. He raised an eyebrow while he stared at George. George laid his head on Dreams shoulder, which caught Dream off guard.
“I’m gonna miss this” George mumbled. Dream could see his eyes tearing up.
“hey, no tears yet” he gave a small smile and rested his chin on George’s head.
—
George said goodbye to bad, Skeppy, and Karl since he had the earliest flight. Dream and Sapnap were dropping him off at the airport. George called shotgun this time. They all hopped in. Sapnap plugged his phone into the USB plug, insisting that they listened to his playlist. They shuffled back and forth between Sapnap’s and Dream’s playlist while they bickered. George laughed at their stupidity. Then a familiar song played.
“Playing cool makes me lose my mind, I can’t be someone I don’t recognize—“
Dream immediately skipped the song.
“dude.” Sapnap was confused on why he skipped the song.
“Not that song” Dream replied blankly. George said nothing, his expression was blank. Sapnap shrugged and continued playing his music. Dream drove with one hand while his other hand crept towards George’s. He held it and George squeezed it tight. They parked in a parking garage. Dream took George’s luggage out of the car. They slowly walked to the gate where George had to go. Sapnap came over and squeezed George goodbye. Next up, it was Dream’s turn to say goodbye. George frowned.
“I-“ before George could say anything more, Dream pulled him into a hug. George stood on his toes and rested his head on Dream’s shoulder. Dream wrapped his arms around George’s waist. They stood for a moment before they both backed their heads up enough to see each other’s faces. George hadn’t realized that he had been crying. Dreams eyes started to water.
“It was fun” George sniffed, “I’m really going to miss you”
“Till we see each other again Georgie” Dream smiled softly as a tear rolled down his cheek. It was a bittersweet moment. George pulled him back into a hug. He played with Dream’s hair for a moment before he had to let go.
“Bye Clay” he said softly.
“Goodbye”. Dream let go of George’s hands as he walked away. He watched him go through the security. George quickly turned around and waved to both of them, tears pouring from his eyes. Then, he was gone.
Notes:
Hey- thank you for sticking around this long into the story! You’re probably wondering why I would just end it so suddenly lmao but here’s the thing. It’s not over. I’ll be making a new work that has to do with the same story, so like a series. It’ll mostly take place with Dreams 3rd person pov instead of George’s. It’ll be called rubberband bc I want it to revolve around a different song by the same person. I have SO many ideas for this book chcjdjjs. I’m still trying to get better at writing bc I’m not very good at it so yeah. It’ll be out soon I promise. I hope this all make sense ha- thank you for the support, I’ll be trying to improve my writing in the mean time :)
