“What did you guys say before Yuelou jumped in the river?” Zhan Junbai asked, the officer wasn't supposed to escape after being shot like that.
“A life for a life is even”
“And?”
“Executive Zhan, do you not trust me or want to kill me?”
Zhan Junbai looked at Chen Yuzhi’s with a slight smirk “Kill you? The terms of our agreement were different, weren’t them?”
The doctor’s face paled, hoping to have misunderstood the implication in the executive’s words “What do you mean? Jiang Yuelou is dead, you shot him! There’s no way he can survive this”
“Oh, is there really no way? We both know he is very hard to kill, so I will not believe it until I see his dead body in front of me.” He showed his back to the doctor’s, continuing to speak “Men, seize him.”
In a moment Chen Yuzhi’s movements were blocked and he was dropped to his knees “What are you doing?! This wasn’t what we agreed upon!” he shouted, with anger and fear in his voice.
“Yes, it isn’t what we agreed upon. But you were the first not to held your side of the pact, weren't you? Now, you have to pay for it.
Jing Ming, bring Keying here.”
“She’s on her way, executive Zhan.”
Chen Yuzhi was shivering with fear, desperate to stop was going to happen “Please, don’t! She’s just a child! Kill me, do whatever you want with me but let her go! Don’t kill her! I will do whatever you want, please…”
Zhan Junbai lowered himself to look directly into the doctor’s eyes “Our agreement was that your sister would be safe if you shot Jiang Yuelou. I wanted to see his face when he realised you had betrayed him and were going to kill him; but you didn’t. You told him of our pact and were ready to kill yourself for him. I expected a betrayal show and instead I had to see your sweet love show about self-sacrifice. As you can imagine, I am utterly pissed right now.”
“Please, then kill me, hurt me, do anything to me. Let her go, let my sister go…”
“You brought this onto yourself, doctor; you should have tought about what the right choice was earlier.”
Slowly the noise of an approaching car became louder and Zhan Junbai got up, leisurely readying his gun.
As the car stopped a little distance from the two men, Chen Yuzhi tried to free himself from the hands that held him in place, but he couldn’t do anything against the strength of the men.
“Keying, Keying no! Please!”
The door of the car opened and his sister’s smiling face came into view.
“Brother! Brother!” His sister shouted happily while running towards him.
Zhan Junbai slowly aimed his gun at the girl’s head.
“Keying, don’t come, run away!” Chen Yuzhi tried one last time to make her go away, while squirming.
“Br….” his sister could’t finish the phrase, her warm blood splattering the doctor’s face from the gunshot in her head.
Zhan Junbai gave his gun to Jing Ming for cleaning “Let him go, he can held her one last time”
The hands that were helding him in place suddenly let go and Chen Yuzhi desperately crawled his sister’s body in his arms “K… Keying, Keying…. Please no…”
His desperation hit his lowest point and turned into anger, letting his sister’s body go the doctor’s threw himself towards the executive. He couldn’t even land and hit before he was once again restrained and held onto the ground. “Zhan Junbai! I’ll kill you, I swear I’ll kill you for this!”
“Oh, so the doctor would be willing to break his oath for me? I must say I fell honoured.” the executive mocked the other man. “We’re finished here, bring him to the mansion with us.”
“What do you still want from me? Let me go, or kill me!”
“Let you go? How unwise would it be, seeing as you have just threatened to kill me? As for killing you right now, it wouldn’t be worth it; I still need a pawn in case Jiang Yuelou is still alive. So, for now, you are still valuable alive for me.
Jing Ming, let’s go.”
A hit on his neck and the doctor’s world went black.
