Chapter Text
“Jill, what’s the rush? I still need to run by the bookstore.” Claire Redfield complained as she struggled to catch up with her friend, Jill Valentine.
“Oh, your new motorcycle book can wait, Claire.” Jill replied as she hurriedly made her way to the shopping mall’s underground car park where her car was.
Claire rolled her eyes as Jill opened the passenger’s side of the door open and pushed her in.
“Will you at least tell me what’s going on?” Claire asked.
After getting into the driver’s seat, Jill started the car and said mysteriously. “You’ll see.”
Claire stared at her friend in confusion and an unsettling feeling started to surface within her. “Is something wrong? Did something happen?”
Slightly alarmed at Claire’s shaky voice, Jill turned to the redhead and shot her a reassuring smile, “No, don’t worry. Everything’s fine. I just need you to come somewhere with me, okay?”
As Jill’s car drove out into the street, the evening sunlight spilled into the car, further highlighting Claire’s fiery locks.
“Jill, where are we going?” Claire asked again.
“Somewhere.” Jill smiled. “You’ll know when we get there.”
Quirking an eyebrow at her friend, Claire eventually let out a sigh of defeat as she sunk back into her seat and watched the buildings whizz past her. She was really looking forward to getting her hands on the new limited edition Viper motorcycle handbook. The new Viper motorcycle would be coming out in three months and while Claire obviously wouldn’t be able to afford it, she was contented with just owning the handbook and reading all about it.
When she informed her brother, Chris, about her plans on getting the handbook today, he had laughed at her over the phone and asked if she really was serious about spending her birthday like this.
Well, spending her birthday in bed with the book didn’t sound like a bad idea to Claire at all. It wasn’t the most exciting but she really didn’t mind. After all, she had been waiting for the release of this book for a year.
Chris was always the one who celebrated her birthdays with her and since he was still in Europe, there really was no reason to have any sort of celebration. Claire was never one to make a big deal out of her birthdays so the plan of snuggling in bed with her book sounded pretty awesome in her opinion.
After hanging up with Chris, Claire received a call from Jill twenty minutes later where Jill had insisted on treating Claire to a birthday lunch. Chris must have blabbed to his girlfriend about Claire’s plans because Jill wouldn’t take no for an answer, saying that it wouldn’t be right for Claire to spend her birthday alone.
So after a long lunch of sushi which turned out to be pretty great, Claire was all ready to head to the bookstore when Jill seemed to have realised that it was getting pretty late and started to drag Claire to leave.
Seriously, Jill had been acting strange all afternoon and Claire wondered if she was okay. When Claire had asked if Jill had plans to visit Chris in Europe, Jill had gotten all fidgety and shrugged and quickly changed to a new topic.
It didn’t seem like something was wrong between them. Claire knew that her brother and Jill were incredibly happy together. What could have gotten Jill so nervous at the mention of Chris though?
When the car finally pulled to a stop, Claire looked out to see her apartment building in front of her.
“You brought me home?” Claire raised her eyebrows as Jill switched the engine off.
“Yep.” Jill grinned and got off the car.
Puzzled, Claire followed Jill into the building and asked, “And you’re coming up with me?”
“I could really use a drink, Claire.” Jill said in amusement as she stepped into the elevator.
More confused than ever, Claire replied, “You’re welcome for a drink anytime. But what’s the rush to send me home? Jill, you’re freaking me out. What’s going on?”
When the doors of the elevator opened, Jill made no reply and simply strode towards Claire’s apartment at the end of the hall.
Feeling a little cautious, Claire slowly reached into her bag for her keys.
Jill laughed, “Just open the door, Claire. I’m going to die of thirst at this rate.”
Pushing the key into the keyhole and turned, Claire pushed open her front door to be greeted by a loud pop and shouts.
“Happy birthday!!!”
Dazed, Claire stared at the scene in front of her. Her living room had streamers all over and a large Happy Birthday banner hung above her TV. And in the middle of the room were all her friends.
Sherry Birkin, Jake Muller, Moira Burton and her other co-workers from TerraSave.
“Happy birthday, Claire!” Sherry ran forward to envelope Claire into a hug.
“W-What are you guys doing here?” Claire stuttered, still trying to get over the shock.
Sherry laughed as she pulled back from her. “To celebrate your birthday, of course!”
Jill who was laughing behind Claire, quipped, “This is why I was in such a hurry to leave the mall.”
Claire let out a laugh as she looked around the room at the faces smiling at her. One by one, her friends came over to wish her a happy birthday.
Her small dining table had trays of food and there was a small stack of presents on her coffee table.
Turning to Jill, Claire asked, “Did you plan all this?”
Jill grinned, “Not really. I mean, I did help with planning but I’m not the one who came up with this whole surprise party thing.”
“Oh? Who did?” Claire asked.
“Me.”
Claire turned at the familiar deep voice and her eyes brightened immediately at the large man who just stepped out of the kitchen.
“Chris!” Claire called out in surprise as she hurried over to give her brother a hug. “How? I mean, when were you back? You planned all this?”
“I arrived a few hours ago. Couldn’t have done it without the help of Jill and everyone else.” Chris smiled.
Letting go of her brother, Claire shot him a warm smile. “I’m really glad you’re back.”
“Me too.” The older Redfield grinned. “Happy birthday. I hope you like your surprise party.”
“I do.” Claire replied honestly. “I just didn’t expect you to plan all this…”
“Well, I couldn’t possibly let my baby sister spend her birthday alone.” Chris said.
“Thanks but I really was fine with reading my book. Besides, I have a phone call with-
“Claire, happy birthday.”
Thankfully, Claire was interrupted by Piers Nivans who just stepped out from the kitchen.
“Hey, you’re here!” Claire smiled. “Thanks for coming.”
As Piers stepped around the siblings to talk to Jake, Chris turned his attention back to Claire.
“You said you have a phone call?”
“O-Oh, yeah…” Claire mumbled and then said, “Hey! There’s pizza from that famous pizzeria in town. I’ve been dying to try it. Let me go grab some!”
Before Chris could say anything else, Claire scuttled away from him as she weaved through her guests, making her way to the trays of food.
Turning back to where Chris was, Claire heaved a sigh of relief to see him already talking to Jill. Thank goodness Chris had been in Europe for months and must have missed Jill for him to get easily distracted like this. Finally feeling safe, Claire grabbed a paper plate and grabbed a slice of pepperoni pizza. She was about to take the first bite when someone spoke behind her.
“You avoiding Chris?”
Claire turned to see Piers laughing softly behind her as he stared at her.
“Is it that obvious?” Claire grimaced as she put her pizza back onto her plate.
“Kind of. You’ve been standing here for the past three minutes monitoring him before you finally take a slice of pizza.” Piers replied, amused.
“Yeah, well… Just wanted to avoid an awkward conversation with him.” Claire admitted.
Piers nodded in understanding as he grabbed a slice of pizza as well.
“Oh, thanks for taking care of my brother while the both of you were in Europe.” Claire said gratefully as she looked up at Piers.
Letting out a soft laugh, Piers said, “Don’t let Chris hear you say that. He was the one who took care of us.”
“I heard from Jill that you really got Chris’ back especially in times when he was in trouble. So really, thank you for looking out for my brother.” Claire said sincerely.
Piers swallowed in embarrassment as he mumbled, “It’s really not a problem. We work as a team and I really respect your brother a lot.”
“He really respects you too. I’ve heard him sing praises about you.” Claire smiled.
“Seriously?” Piers cocked an eyebrow.
Nodding, Claire laughed, “Yeah, I know he likes to go all hard-ass on his team, especially you. But I can see that he expects a lot from you. We all do.”
“You do?” Piers breathed out.
“Yeah, of course. Jill, Chris and I talk about it sometimes. Chris said that you’re one of the best he has ever seen. So of course Jill and I are expecting a lot from you.” Claire replied as she started on her pizza.
Claire’s eyes wandered to the spot where her brother and Jill was but was surprised to see a now anxious looking Jill who was whispering to Sherry and Chris. Jill kept looking at her watch as Sherry took out her phone and started calling someone. Chris who was beside them looked pretty unbothered but Claire could see that something was off.
Making her way to the suspicious trio, Claire asked, “What’s going on?”
Jill gave a jump at Claire’s voice behind her. “Jesus, Claire, you scared me!”
Claire raised an eyebrow and repeated, “Is everything okay?”
Laughing nervously, Jill replied, “Yeah, of course. Everything’s fine.”
Sherry who had her back on them, pulled her phone off her ear and muttered, “Damn it, Leon’s not picking up.”
“Leon?” Claire echoed.
Chris let out a sigh, “Yeah, Leon’s coming. It seems like he’s running a little late. Jill’s panicking because Leon is supposed to buy the cake.”
“L-Leon’s coming?” Claire squeaked in surprise. “But I thought he’s out of the country…”
“He said he wouldn’t miss your birthday.” Sherry beamed.
“He said he wanted it to be a surprise.” Jill piped in.
Happiness bloomed within Claire as she tried to smother the smile that was threatening to appear. Leon’s coming? Damn, this Leon could really keep a secret. They have been talking on the phone almost every night and Leon made no peep about her secret party at all.
Last night before hanging up, she had said, “Same time tomorrow, Leon?”
He had smoothly replied, “Of course. See you.”
Leon had made no mention about her birthday or any party and their conversations had gone on as usual.
“So, Leon’s really coming back from Russia?” Claire asked.
“Yeah,” Chris confirmed. “His assignment’s completed. I bet you haven’t talked to Leon in ages. You two must have so much to catch up on.”
“Y-Yeah…” Claire muttered feebly as she carefully avoided Chris’ gaze.
“I’m so excited to see Leon again!” Sherry said excitedly. “Aren’t you excited too, Claire?”
“Of course I am.” Claire smiled.
She really was.
It all started three months ago when Claire woke up to herself crying from the same dream that had haunted her for several days. A little girl who was found badly infected was sent in and Claire and her team had spent days trying to find out the virus within the girl. It was a new virus and they didn’t have the right cure for it yet.
While their team was still trying to come up with the cure, Claire visited the little girl in her isolated room nightly to comfort her. The little girl was an orphan and it had struck a chord within Claire. She didn’t have her parents while growing up but at least she had Chris. This little girl had no one.
Unfortunately, before they could even come up with a cure, the little girl started to turn. And her last words to Claire as a human was ‘Please save me, Claire! I’m scared.’
Claire and her team weren’t able to and eventually, the little girl had to be put down by her co-workers. The first night since the little girl’s death, Claire kept having dreams of the girl and how she had pleaded for Claire to save her.
It was the third night that she had woken up in tears by the same dream when she received a call from Leon. It was currently 2 am and she wondered what could be the emergency. She and Leon would call and talk once every month or two for a quick catch up session, usually about work and it surprised her to see him calling at such a strange hour.
Shakily, she answered the call to hear Leon’s voice over the line.
“Hey Claire,” Leon’s warm voice flooded her ear.
“Hi, is everything okay?” Claire answered as she tried to keep her voice stable.
“Yeah, everything’s fine. Just wanted to tell you that I’ve received the sample of the virus that you sent me. They’re being checked out by the Australian team over here. I hope they’ll come up with something useful.” Leon said.
Right. The sample she had mailed to Leon a week ago hoping that he’ll be able to get the help of the Australian government. The virus sample was from the little girl and Claire had hoped that she would be in time to save her.
“T-Thanks, Leon.” Claire choked out as she tried to swallow her tears.
“Claire? Is everything okay?” Leon asked carefully over the line.
Letting out a shaky breath, Claire replied, “The little girl didn’t make it, Leon. She… We had to put her down three days ago.”
“Oh shit…” Leon mumbled. “I’m so sorry, Claire.”
A tear slipped down Claire’s cheek as she struggled to maintain her composure.
“Claire,” Leon said softly. “You’ve tried your best. There isn’t anything else you could do.”
“She begged me to save her and I couldn’t.”
“It’s not your fault. The virus was spreading too fast. There’s nothing anyone could do.” Leon reasoned.
Another tear slipped down her cheek and Claire was suddenly crying her eyes out.
“I just… feel so guilty. I can’t stop dreaming about her every night, Leon. The way she looked at me when she begged me to save her. I failed her.” Claire sobbed.
Leon ended up comforting Claire for three hours and eventually, Claire did feel slightly better and when she declared that she really needed to catch that one hour of sleep before getting ready for work, Leon was surprised when he finally realised that he had messed up the time difference between where they both were.
“Shit, I didn’t realise I called you at two in the morning. Sorry.” Leon apologised.
“It’s okay. I was awake from the dream anyway. Thanks, Leon. Your call tonight really helped.” Claire replied.
“Call me anytime if you need someone to talk to, Claire. I mean it.” Leon said. “Even if it’s in the middle of the night, I’ll answer your calls.”
“Thanks.” Claire whispered gratefully.
She didn’t call Leon the following nights but he did, right on time at 11 pm, just to check in on her. Even after assuring him that she really was feeling a lot better, Leon continued to call at the same time every night. It really was a big help to her as she was back to her old self in no time.
Leon was busy in Australia with an assignment but he still made it a point to call her almost every night. It seemed to have become a habit for both of them. Sometimes they would talk about their days, sometimes they would recount the Raccoon City incident and sometimes they would just talk about the most random things like some new food Leon has tried.
Each of their phone calls would last at least an hour or two and Claire found herself looking forward to her late night talks with him.
“I’m sure Leon’s arriving soon.” Sherry’s voice broke Claire out of her thoughts.
“But it’s getting awfully late,” Jill said worriedly. “He should have arrived 45 minutes ago. Plus, he’s not answering his phone.”
“Knowing Leon, he’s probably held up in traffic and had his phone on silent.” Chris said. “Let’s not worry too much about him. Why don’t I go get the cake and we’ll start without him?”
Piers, who had wandered over and heard the conversation, offered immediately, “I can go. Captain, you should just stay here and catch up with you sister.”
“Guys, it’s fine, I really don’t need a cake.” Claire said. “The food is more than enough anyway.”
“It’s not a birthday party without a cake, Claire.” Sherry said.
Piers smiled at Claire, “She’s right. Don’t worry, I’ll come back with a cake really soon.”
Piers did really come back with a cake in just twenty minutes and the party resumed in full swing. Everyone seemed like they were having a good time but Claire couldn’t help but wonder where Leon was. He told Jill and Sherry he’s coming so where is he?
When the candles were lit and everyone sang Happy Birthday, Claire continued to wonder if Leon was okay. Did something urgent came up?
Claire blew out the candles and as everyone ate the cake and mingled, Jill came up to Claire and asked, “Everything okay?”
“Yeah,” Claire forced a smile. “Cake is great. I need to ask Piers where he got this from.”
“I’m not asking about the cake.” Jill said. “I’m asking about you.”
“Me?” Claire asked as she swallowed the last bite of her cake.
“Yes, you keep looking at your phone and you seem really distracted.” Jill pointed out. “Is this about Leon?”
“Yeah,” Claire admitted. “Honestly, I’m a little worried. You said he was supposed to arrive two hours ago. I even dropped him a text and there was no reply.”
Jill patted Claire on the back. “You know Leon. It’s probably work. An emergency must have come up. I’m sure he’s alright.”
Claire nodded slowly in silence, both relieved and a little upset at Jill’s words. Jill’s right. Leon probably had to deal with work but a part of Claire was disappointed as she really thought she would be able to see Leon tonight.
“Hey,” Jill called out softly. “Is there something going on between you and Leon?”
“H-Huh?” Claire blinked in surprise at the sudden question.
“When I called Leon last week to talk to him about that new virus, I mentioned to him about the surprise party we were going to throw you. We talked a bit about you and it seemed like he’s really caught up with all your updates. You two talk often?” Jill asked.
“Yes, almost every night, actually.” Claire confessed. “It’s not a big deal though. It’s purely platonic.”
“Not a big deal?” Jill laughed softly. “You know, before Chris and I started dating, we would talk almost every night as well. It’s what people who are in love do, Claire.”
Heat immediately rushed up to Claire’s cheek. “What? Don’t be ridiculous.”
“Seriously.” Jill smiled.
“It’s not like that between Leon and me.” Claire said hurriedly.
“Are you sure? This is Leon we’re talking about.”
“Precisely, this is Leon we’re talking about.” Claire emphasized. “Leon and I are just old friends.”
“What I mean is, when has anyone heard of Leon Kennedy talking on the phone to a girl almost every night?” Jill grinned.
“What are you talking about?”
“I’m saying that there’s something between you and Leon.” Jill replied knowledgably. “Maybe the both of you haven’t realised it yet but trust me, there is something there. Leon’s not the kind of guy to talk to a girl almost every night over the phone.”
Claire’s heart thudded against her chest as she considered Jill’s words. Was what Jill said true? That maybe, just maybe, Leon has some feelings for her?
It had been pretty clear to Claire that she was feeling things for Leon over all these late night phone calls. But she had never once considered that Leon might have feelings for her. I mean, he’s Leon, the guy who has girls throwing themselves at him constantly despite him declaring that he doesn’t do the whole girlfriend thing.
When the party finally came to a close, it was almost 11 pm. Thankfully, everyone had helped to clean up before leaving and after Claire shut the front door, she immediately retrieved her phone from her pocket to find that Leon hadn’t replied her text from an hour ago.
It was almost time for their call. Will Leon even pick up? Ignoring the pile of unopened presents from her friends, she headed straight to her bedroom and called Leon.
Claire waited impatiently as the ringing continued. It finally disconnected and went to voicemail in which Claire just hung up. She really was starting to get worried about him.
Forcing herself to remember that Leon is a highly skilled government agent, Claire took a shower, texted all her guests a thank you message as she patiently tried to wait for Leon’s call or reply.
It was almost midnight when Claire was really starting to worry. Government agent or not, it wasn’t like Leon to miss their late night calls.
She remembered that there were a few times when Leon was running late but would still find the find time to text her, telling her he would call her when he’s done for the day. Sometimes if he ended after midnight, he would drop her a text, asking if she was already asleep. Sometimes she was, but hearing the buzz from her phone would make her pull herself up just so she could hear his voice.
Leon was an hour late for their phone call and he hasn’t been replying her texts. Did something happen to him? Pacing around her living room anxiously, Claire finally decided to call Jill.
Jill picked up on the second ring and asked, “Claire, is everything okay?”
“I think something might have happened to Leon,” Claire replied worriedly. “This isn’t like him. He’s not picking up or replying to my texts. When was the last time he contacted any of you?”
“He spoke to me last, telling me he was on his way to the airport, catching a flight back here. He told me he would call us again when he has landed but we haven’t heard anything from him. I thought he might be in a rush to pick up the cake so I didn’t think much of it.” Jill said.
Letting out a shaky breath, Claire said, “I’m sure something must have happened, Jill. It’s not like Leon to just disappear like this.”
Claire heard some shuffling through the phone and her brother’s voice.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s Claire. She thinks something’s happened to Leon.”
“Claire,” Jill returned to the phone immediately. “Don’t worry too much, alright? Chris and I will check on Leon right now. We’ll give you a call back as soon as we get something.”
“Okay… Thanks.” Claire said softly and hung up.
Claire sunk down onto her couch and closed her eyes tiredly wondering what on earth had happened to Leon. She prayed that he was safe and he probably just got tied up at work and he wasn’t able to access his phone.
She wasn’t even disappointed anymore that he didn’t come to her birthday. All she wanted was for Leon to be safe.
“God damn it, Leon.” She muttered in frustration as she shot him another text, asking him if he’s alright.
And just like the three other texts she had sent, it was delivered but un-read.
It was about an hour later when Claire was still huddled on her couch, on the brink of tears as her mind ran through all the possible scenarios which Leon could be in, in which all the scenarios ending up with Leon badly hurt or even dead somewhere.
It was one in the morning. She was tired, worried and her imagination was running wild with the lack of updates about Leon.
Finally when her phone rang beside her, Claire leapt up, hopeful but when the name Chris flashed on her screen, her heart plummeted.
“Hey Chris,” Claire answered. “What did you find?”
A deep sigh left Chris’ lips. Shit. This must be bad. Claire’s heart thudded violently against her chest as she felt her throat go dry.
“Claire, Leon didn’t board the plane.” Chris said. “We were not able to track his phone, you know, him being an agent but we did manage to find out that he’s definitely still in Russia. The hotel database shows that he hasn’t checked out either.”
“He hasn’t checked out…” Claire muttered. “Which means that he probably had emergency work to do there… right?”
“Could be.”
Claire continued, “But it could also mean that something has happened to him and he didn’t make it to the reception to check himself out.”
Reluctantly, Chris replied, “This is also a possibility.”
Claire swallowed thickly and Chris continued softly over the line, “He will be okay. He’s Leon Kennedy. He’s a top government agent. I’ll be more worried about the person who tries to get in his way.”
Claire knew Chris was not entirely wrong but Leon was just a human after all. A human who had close brushes with death more than a few times but was lucky enough to survive it. What if his luck had ran out?
“We’ll continue to check on Leon,” Chris assured. “We’ll give Leon a few more hours to get back to us. If there’s still no word from him tomorrow morning, Jill knows someone in Russia who is able to help.”
“Okay.” Claire said softly.
“Try to get some sleep. Don’t worry about Kennedy. He’ll be fine.” Chris said.
After hanging up with Chris, Claire trudged into her bedroom, her phone clutched in her hand. As she sat on the edge of her bed, she texted Leon again.
Leon, we’re all worried about you. Call or text me when you can. We just need to know you’re okay.
There was no reply of course. And all Claire could do was curl up in bed as she stared at her phone miserably.
Minutes bled into hours when Claire’s phone started ringing on her palm. Her eyes snapped open immediately having just worried herself to exhaustion until she finally dozed off about thirty minutes ago.
Leon’s name flashed brightly on the screen and with trembling hands, Claire quickly answered the call.
“Leon!” She called out in relief. “Where have you been? Are you okay?”
Her voice came out all thick and she quickly cleared her throat.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Leon answered, his voice heavy. “Sorry about the scare. I’ve texted Chris, Jill and Sherry to let them know I’m fine.”
“You’re okay?” Claire breathed out. “You’re really okay? You’re not injured or anything, are you?”
A soft chuckle over the line and Leon replied, “No, I’m okay, really.”
“Thank god.” Claire sighed as she closed her eyes tiredly.
“I’m sorry I missed your birthday.” Leon said softly.
Claire let out a soft laugh. “It’s alright. I’m just glad you’re safe.”
“So, the party went okay, I hope?” Leon asked.
“Yeah, it was fine. Piers went to get a cake in the end. Don’t worry about it.” Claire smiled.
“That’s good.” Leon replied. “Glad it wasn’t ruined because of me. Sorry about the cake.”
Claire did have an awful night worrying about Leon’s safety instead of her party but she definitely wasn’t going to tell him about that. After all, what was the point of making him feel guilty when he was probably held up by work and had already apologised? Besides, Leon’s safe and sound. That is all that mattered.
“It’s okay. Nothing’s ruined. I’m sure you had a last minute assignment to attend to, right?” Claire replied as she got out of bed and drew her curtains, letting the first ray of sunlight pour into her room.
There was a brief silence on Leon’s end when he finally spoke, “It wasn’t an assignment.”
“Oh?” Claire blinked in surprise as she walked to her closet, already mentally picking out the outfit she would wear to work in a few hours.
Leon cleared his throat over the line and then in a gruff voice, said, “It was Ada.”
As soon as the name Ada spilled out of Leon’s lips, Claire felt as though someone had punched her in the gut.
“A-Ada? Ada Wong?” Claire echoed as she froze.
“Yeah, I was about to leave my hotel room after my call with Jill when Ada showed up at the door. She was badly injured and needed my help.” Leon replied.
Claire felt her throat go dry. So Leon had missed the plane because of Ada.
Leon continued over the line. “She was bleeding really badly when I saw her. I couldn’t not help her.”
“I u-understand… of course…” Claire forced herself to choke out.
No. She honestly couldn’t understand any of this at all. Had Leon and Ada been still in contact after all these time? It must be, if not why the hell would Ada knew which hotel Leon was in? Leon never mentioned a thing about Ada the past few months and Claire had gladly let herself believe that there was nothing going on between them anymore. What a joke.
“Leon, can you help get me a drink?”
Claire’s eyes widened when she heard the feminine, sultry voice of Ada Wong from Leon’s background.
“I got to go, Claire.” Leon said hurriedly. “Ada’s awake. I’ll call you again, okay?”
Before Claire could reply, the line went dead. Claire sank to the ground as she realised what had just happened.
Because of Ada Wong, Leon had missed his flight, broke his promise to his friends and her, ignored his phone the entire time as he took care of Ada… Letting Ada stay over in his hotel room as he waited on her hand and foot as she had stupidly worried about him all night. Leon was obviously still in love with Ada Wong.
Those late night phone calls apparently had meant nothing to Leon. She was the only one who thought that there was something special between them. She was the one who thought that maybe Leon had feelings for her. Those phone calls were probably just a way for Leon to pass time. Now that Ada’s back in his arms, she shouldn’t be expecting any of his calls anymore.
Claire hugged her knees tightly as she let a tear slip down. It was time to let her feelings for Leon go, she realised. The woman for Leon Kennedy will only ever be Ada Wong.
