Chapter Text
“Jenny, shut the fuck up.” Bethany laughed as her friend continued to make sexual jokes towards her and her boyfriend.
“Leave her be, Jenny.” (Y/n) followed suit, a smile still on her lips while she looked at the fields passing by.
“You two are just boring. Timmy, stop right here, or I’ll jump.” the girl continued to joke around, being as dramatic as she could.
Jenny pushed the front seat with her legs, making Timmy shake in the driver seat. The guy laughed it off, looking over his shoulder to show his tongue to the girl. She had a playful smile on, but soon her face became one of horror, she pointed to the road, a silent scream moving her mouth open. And finally, she managed to say something.
“Timmy! Look out!” she screamed.
When he looked at the road again, he only saw a flash of green as he turned the wheel to the side, driving straight into the pit beside the highway. The car capsized three times before stopping upright and disappearing into the foliage in the grain field, leaving only the skid marks on the pavement.
Timmy had crashed his head on the wheel, his nose pushed in and one eye popped out of the socket, tangling itself in the handle of the steering wheel. Bethany had flown out of the front left window of the car, leaving half her body inside the vehicle and half outside hanging from the front door, her waist almost ripped to shreds. Jenny was by far the worst of them all, she had no seatbelt on, so her body slammed around the car, breaking one of her arms, her neck snapped open and her jaw ripped off, the latter was pulled away when she flung around with her mouth open into the door handle. (Y/n) was the only survivor given that she was one of the only ones using a seatbelt, having only broken a leg when Jenny dropped on it, and a head injury when her friend’s body crashed onto her.
The green thing Timmy saw in the middle of the road was a man, he had a green shirt and some khaki pants, his slick hair kept falling into his eyes and a birthmark was apparent on top of one of his cheeks. He stopped for a few seconds, watching the accident unfold with a smile getting bigger on his face. As he stopped hearing the car’s engine, he hurried there to see what he could find and what he could bring back home. He would probably need help to carry the bodies home, but taking a look first wouldn’t hurt, that way Drayton wouldn’t get the good stuff before him.
He couldn’t see much from where he was, the car was too messed up for him to open the doors normally, so he only took photos of the corpses and ran back home, hopping that Bubba wasn’t busy, which he probably was, but he would help anyway with a few punches and slaps.
<->
After the torturous hot walk to his house, he finally arrived home. He kicked the door open, grabbing the attention of the hulking man inside the kitchen.
“Bubba! Hurry your fat ass up! I found some corpses for hanging!” Nubbins screamed as he saw his brother run around the kitchen like a headless chicken looking for his ‘work’ clothes.
The giant man babbled some things, going bare handed since he understood that all of them were dead. They walked back to the car, Nubbins almost skipping his step, eager to take more photos. When they got there, it was all still in the same place, proving that all of them were dead. So, the back and forth to the house began, first with Bethany’s body, which was the easier to get out, and dragged her back, since she was divided in two. Then, next was Timmy who was dragged along with Jenny, both easier to take out of the car because the part they were in wasn’t too messed up. The last one was (Y/n) who they left for last and only Bubba came back for, Nubbins was too tired and too into the new mangled bodies they had brought home. The man managed to crank the door open, taking the girl’s seatbelt off before hooking his arms under her and holding her close to his body, planning to make this the last trip he did to the car. The sky was dark at this point, making it a little bit difficult to see.
However, he felt the girl shift a little, so he stopped midway, waiting for another movement or sound. Which came quite fast as she scrunched her face and moaned in pain. The man jumped on his feet, surprised that she was still alive, he almost dropped her with the little scare she gave him. She opened her eyes just a little bit, her vision blurry, the dark of the night not making it better, and her body full of pain.
“Save us… Please…” she managed to mumble before passing out again.
Bubba was paralyzed for a few seconds, but hurried home right after getting out of the trance. He was thinking about what to do, she seemed nice and her dress was really pretty. Her hair was the brightest (h/c) he had ever seen, even in the dark it shone bright. Her facial features were soft and cute, she had make-up on and he questioned whether she could teach him how to apply it on his masks. He smiled behind his mask, excited to have a new playmate and to show her to his mom. Would she like her? Would she approve of it? He hoped so, he didn’t want to kill this one, she seemed special in his eyes.
When he got home, Nubbins was picking at his teeth with his knife, and as soon as the man caught sight of the butcher holding the girl, he got up from the couch and hurried to grab his camera. However, Bubba didn’t let him photograph her, turning his body away everytime the man moved to get a better angle.
“What the fuck, you fat pig?! Let me see ‘er!” he punched the man’s arm, making him recoil and hold the girl closer to his chest.
He hadn’t noticed it before, but she was so small he could hide her with his body. While Nubbins continued to punch and kick him, the man made his way upstairs to his bedroom, locking the door behind him before his brother could get in.
“Let me in, you fucker!” he shouted, banging at the door “You’ll see when Drayton gets home! He’ll punch your face right in!”
He laid the girl on his bed, looking at her lovingly while taking a strand of hair from her delicate face. It would be all right, even if Drayton didn’t like the idea, if his mother wasn’t against it, he could do nothing at all. The man smiled and clapped his hands together, happy to have a friend or at least someone to keep him company.
Sometime later, he heard his mother on the door. Banging and asking if everything was okay. Drayton and Nubbins were there too, screaming at each other and cursing at Bubba.
“Bubba, open the door, honey.” his mother asked.
He thought for a moment, afraid that she would make him get rid of the girl, but he knew in his heart that his mother would understand and support him. So, he opened the door a little, looking down at the two brothers looking angrily at him and his mom looking lovingly and understanding.
“What’s going on?” the woman asked as she entered the room and closed the door behind her, ignoring the screams from her sons.
The bulky man stepped aside, showing the girl on the bed. She was sweating profusely and had a scowl on her face, pain stamped on her features and blood staining her beautiful sunny dress. The woman smiled softly and hurried to the girl, taking a look at her injured head and broken leg.
“She’s lost a lot of blood, you know?” she said to him, trying to make him understand that it might be pointless to help the girl.
The man started to walk around the room, seemingly thinking about what to do. Finally, he sat on the floor beside the bed, shaking his head furiously and patting the bed with his hands. He moaned some more, showing his wish to help the girl no matter what.
“All right, all right!” the woman sat on the bed, turning the girl’s head to her and raising her dress a little bit to look better at her leg “Get me some bandages, a needle, some line, a bucket of water and a plank of wood.” his mother never saw him running faster than he did that day.
Chapter Text
When (Y/n) finally woke up, the first thing she felt was pain, pure pain raining down on her leg and head, even though her whole body felt sore, those were the places that hurt the most. She felt tears come to her eyes, the pain being so unbearable that she began to let out pained groans, getting louder with each passing second.
Suddenly the door flew open, taking her attention from her body to the sound, but didn’t take the pain away. A woman walked fast to her side, she had a cup of water and some pills on her hand, which she helped the girl put on her mouth. She gulped down the water like it was the last time she was going to drink anything. The girl gasped when she finished, breathing fast as she felt the pain continue to shoot down her leg. She was holding the bed sheets tightly inside her little hands, her knuckles white and her face scrunched up from the headache.
“You’ll be just fine, honey.” the woman said, patting her arm softly and smiling.
“Whe-where am I?” the girl asked, looking around the room and noticing that it wasn’t a fancy house, but it wasn’t dirty either.
“My Bubba saved you when your car crashed.” she explained, her smile faltering.
“Where are the others?” (Y/n) continued her questioning, trying to sit up on the bed, but stopping when she felt the massive pain from her leg “W-what happened to my l-leg?” she stuttered, afraid to ask and receive a not so pleasant answer.
“You broke your leg, but I patched you right up!” the woman smiled again “It’ll take some time for it to heal, but you’ll be walking in no time at all.” she took a piece of hair from the girl’s face.
“What happened to my friends?” she managed to say, her eyes filling with more tears, despair taking the reigns of her heart.
“Oh, dear. You were the only survivor.” she told the girl, her smile turning into a slight frown, faking sadness as best as she could.
“Th-they… They’re dead?” (Y/n) said, still not believing it, at one moment they were all joking together, and now they’re gone.
“I’m sorry, honey.” she said, placing her hand on the girl’s thigh.
The girl couldn’t place the feeling, she felt alone, distraught, maybe a little anxious. But she composed herself, cleaning her eyes from the tears, having the decency to ask the woman’s name. She could mourn later, she needed to thank the people that saved her and think about what she would do now.
“I’m-I’m sorry, ma’am. I don’t think I got your name.” she politely said, almost able to say it with no stutter.
“I’m Luda Mae Sawyer, but you can call me Ma.” she smiled sweetly.
“I’m (Y/n) (L/n). Nice to meet you.” the girl extended her hand and shook the woman’s slightly “Who took me out of the car? I remember someone carrying me, I wanted to thank them for helping.” she managed to sit up, making sure to not put pressure on her injured leg.
“Oh, it was my boy! Bubba.” Luda said proudly, her smile getting bigger at the mention of her son “He’s a little bit shy, but he’ll come around sooner or later.” she waved her hand around, dismissing the topic “Right now I gotta put some food in you. You need some meat in your bones, dear!” she laughed it off, getting up from her chair and walking to the door “I’ll go get something for you, just you wait.” then, she hurried out into the corridor, vanishing past the door frame.
And that was the moment that she felt truly alone, her eyes filled again with water, but this time she finally let it out. Even though her head was hurting, she couldn’t help the shakes and sniffs that got out of her. She wanted her friends there, they were so happy, their trip was going so well, why them? Just the thought of never seeing them again made her cry a little louder, but she covered her mouth pretty quickly when she heard a sound coming from the hallway.
“He-hello?” she asked softly, her eyes still blurry from the tears “Luda Mae?”
Her breathing almost stopped when the biggest man she had ever seen passed walking fast by the corridor, her heart seemed to stop working, because she felt it beat harder than ever before when she heard the man run down the stairs, or at least that was what she thought she heard. The sudden scare made her head hurt more than it already was, a hard pounding with each second, subsiding slowly. After a few minutes of her adjusting herself on the bed and massaging her forehead, she saw Luda Mae enter the room with a tray of food.
“I’m sorry, honey. But we ain’t no fancy diner. I brought you some bread and milk. We weren’t expecting guests.” she laughed, placing the tray on the girl’s lap.
“It’s alright.” she responded softly, taking a gulp of the cold milk.
She thought about asking who was that that passed by the hallway, but decided against it.
“We brought one of the bags to the house.” she pointed to the travel bag on the floor in the corner “Bubba thought it was yours since it was the prettiest one of the bunch.” the woman commented.
“He guessed right, mine was the only one with sun-sunflowers on it.” she couldn’t help the little cry she let out, choking on her tears.
“Oh dear. Everything will be just fine, don’t worry.” the woman reassured her, her hands brushing her hair from her eyes.
“I-I’m sorry, ma’am.” she mumbled “I don’t want to be a burden.”
“You’re not, dear! And I told you to call me Ma.” the woman smiled at the end “My son is really happy that you’re here.”
“I hope that he’ll warm up to me, I’d love to meet him.” she smiled warmly, taking a bite of the bread, her cheeks still wet.
“You’ll get to meet them all later.”
They stayed in silence for a few moments, but the girl felt that she needed to thank the woman.
“Thank you, for everything. I don’t know what would’ve happened to me if you people hadn’t helped me.” (Y/n) grabbed the woman’s hand, squeezing it gently.
“There’s no need to thank me, dear.” Luda Mae said softly, holding the girl’s hand back.
What they didn’t know was that the giant man was right by the door, hearing everything they were saying and smiling behind his mask.
Chapter Text
The night went by with some difficulty, she had been in the biggest pain she ever felt in her life. The only time she managed to sleep was when she was too tired to cry and groan quietly, which happened when it was almost dawn. She knew she probably had a fever, she kept on sweating profusely, the hot weather didn’t help at all. The day was just as hard. By lunch time, she knew she was losing her mind, the fever never stopping and her leg bleeding on the bed.
Luda Mae had brought her breakfast and they talked for a few minutes, the woman gave her a few painkillers and placed a cold towel on her forehead, trying to subside the stubborn fever. She heard her saying something about not being there, but her foggy mind couldn’t quite comprehend what was being said. The only thing she understood was that if she needed anything, she should call for Bubba.
Which she did, feeling her bladder full and her face flush just to think about asking what she was going to ask. She had some trouble calling out for him, her throat dry and her lungs weak, but she managed. It took some time for her to hear heavy footsteps coming upstairs, her heart pounding with each loud sound. She was finally going to meet her savior, the man that helped her and the one that seemed to like her very much, despite not knowing her or talking to her.
His mother warned her about him, saying that he was really shy and that he used a mask to cover his face. She only knew that, but it made her nervous nonetheless. So, when he entered the room it wasn’t a big surprise to see the ‘mask’ on his face. However, she was surprised by the sheer size of the man. He was huge, the kind of tall that has to crouch down a little bit to enter a room, the kind of tall that engulfs you whole with a hug, the kind of tall that made (Y/n)’s heart skip a beat. Her mind woke up pretty fast and her eyes got bigger when her heart began beating faster.
Now she took a good look at him, she noticed that the mask was quite strange, it seemed like some kind of leather, it was pretty ugly, but nothing too abnormal. His curly brown hair stuck behind the mask, it looked a little disheveled, but nothing out of the ordinary. He had an apron on, a worn out pink one. Sure, it looked weird, but who was she to question someone’s choices of clothing? He could have only borrowed it from his mother, right? He was huffing from the little effort he made to hurry up the stairs just as he heard her.
“I-I-” she began, but couldn’t manage to say anything, her throat too dry for her taste.
She coughed up a bit, her hand covering her mouth and the other flying to her head, feeling the pressure of a new headache approaching. The man had the most unexpected and cute reaction the girl could ever imagine. He stumbled with himself, looking around the room for something. When he found it, he brought it cautiously to the bed, standing beside her like a kid trying to impress their mother.
The girl took the glass of water from his hands, two or three fingers brushing up against his, which seemed to make the man shutter a bit. She drank the now warm water, her eyes never leaving his face, or mask for that matter. (Y/n) handed him the water back, which he placed back on the drawer. He stood still for a moment, not really knowing what to do next, so he began to leave the room, satisfied to have helped her. However, she grabbed his apron with one hand, bringing his attention to her again.
“I- Uh… I need to go to the bathroom, please.” she said, her voice now smoother by the water she drank.
The man seemed to think for a little bit, fumbling with himself when he understood what she meant by that. His hands got entangled with themselves, his palms sweating more than normal. She heard him grunt a bit when he crouched down to grab her to help her to the toilet. She let out a small yelp, her arms sticking out to hold his neck. The girl noticed how thick his neck was, was he some kind of bodybuilder? He didn’t smell exactly good, but it wasn’t bad either, more like a musky scent.
He was holding her bridal style, trying not to move too much to not make her leg hurt or get worse. Bubba walked her out of the room and into the bathroom, having some difficulty to pass the door frame, since he was pretty big and doing it while holding the girl wasn’t any better. He placed her on the open toilet as gently as he could, standing up again and looking at her for a few seconds. The girl couldn’t help the blush that rose to the cheeks. Was he just a creep or was he worried that she might hurt herself when he turned around?
“U-uh… Bubba, could you please turn around?” she made a little round motion with her index finger.
The man’s mind seemed to click, making him fumble with his hands again, turning around quite fast. One of his hands flung up to his head, hitting his temple harshly a few times. (Y/n), who got jumpscared by the sudden noise, grabbed his other hand that was by the man’s side.
“H-hey! Stop it, it’s alright.” she said, reassuring him.
Bubba stopped suddenly, breathing heavily before freeing his hand from hers, uniting both hands on his chest. The girl couldn’t help the way her heart beated faster, he looked so cute that way! It was like a kid ashamed of doing something wrong. She wasn’t quite sure if he was truly shy or if he was just acting up, but she liked it nonetheless.
She managed to get her panties to her knees and gather her dress by her waist, covering most of her privates if the man turned around for some reason. Sure, it was weird to have someone next to you while you pee, but there was nothing she could do about it. She just accepted the fact that she would be disabled for a month or so, maybe less since she had quite a fast recovery when she broke bones as a kid.
She looked around the bathroom, it wasn’t exactly clean, but it wasn’t dirty either. A good scrub should have done it. She noticed too that, thank God, there was toilet paper. When she was finished she extended her hand again and pulled on his shirt a little, making the man turn around and stare at her.
“I’m done here.” (Y/n) said, trying to not sound nervous “Could you help me back?” she asked sweetly.
The man nodded eagerly and took her in his embrace again, carrying her to the corridor, but stopping halfway to the bedroom when he saw Drayton in the hallway. The man gulped, fearing what he would say or how he would act.
“Looks like I won the jackpot.” he smiled creepily “Winner winner, chicken dinner.”
Chapter Text
“He-hello.” the girl began, not really understanding why the man had stopped “I’m (Y/n) (L/n), nice to meet you.” she said, bowing her head a little, since shaking his hand would be a little awkward in the position she was in.
“Drayton Sawyer.” he said, looking her up and down “How about you have dinner with us, huh?” he asked, a large smile appearing on his face, something that the girl became aware that wasn’t innocent at all.
Bubba shook his head profusely, remembering the last time they brought someone to eat dinner with them. Drayton had a big mouth, so Leatherface was afraid that he would spill something about her friend's death or how they used them for food. The girl noticed the man’s uneasiness and decided to agree with him, not really wanting to spend some time with people she didn’t know yet and seemed quite aggressive.
“I’m sorry, sir. But Bubba is right, I don't think I should be sitting up just yet.” she managed to say without stuttering.
The girl passed her hand slowly and gently at the man’s back, reassuring him that it was all right. The big man seemed to relax, holding her a little tighter to his body.
Drayton had a baffled face, he didn’t think she would agree with Bubba, much less reject him.
“Well, at least we have someone polite in this house.” he joked, not really finding a reason to dislike the girl “But I expect you downstairs when you’re better, young lady.” he said with a nasty smile, which the girl couldn’t place as being polite or being creepy.
The man entered his bedroom, placing (Y/n) on the bed again gently and closing the door quickly. He began walking around the room, hitting his head with his hands and stomping hard on the wooden floor. The girl didn’t know what to do, she didn’t know what was happening inside his head, but she sure wouldn’t like to know.
“Bubba!” she shouted his name, her head pounding with her voice “It’s alright!” she continued, trying to sit up on the bed.
Leatherface got out of his trance, looking at her quite sad before sitting beside the bed heavily. He placed his big hands on his thighs, sitting on his knees like a little kid waiting for a beating. The girl could see that his eyes were brimming with tears, his mouth, that appeared just slightly, quivering a bit. She thought that maybe he had some kind of mental disorder, since this wasn’t the reaction a normal person, man or woman, would have. She would be lying if she said that the scene wasn’t cute. Sure, he was a grown ass man on his knees holding his tears like a small kid, but his lonely eyes kept bringing something to her chest, a desire to protect and care.
“Hey, it’s alright.” she said again, now a little lower, hoping to calm the man down “I’m not going anywhere.” she reassured him, placing her hand on the man’s head, carefully threading through his dark curly locks.
He flinched a little, afraid that she would hit him, like most of his familiars did, but relaxed when he felt her soft hand on the edge of his mask, slowly playing with his hair. He didn’t know why, but he felt like he couldn’t treat her like the meat they killed. He wanted her approval, her friendship, her gentle touch.
As she was going to take her hand away, he grabbed her wrist while groaning loudly and pressed against his head again, surprising the girl slightly.
“You can’t talk, can you?” she asked him, a soft smile on her face.
The man looked up at her, a sad expression on his face, not really knowing if she was judging him or if she was just curious. He groaned nonetheless, he shook his head, sniffing a little bit.
“Can you write?” she continued to ask, wanting to have some type of way to communicate with him.
Again, he shook his head, but this time a little harder. Bubba got up from the ground, becoming more embarrassed by the second, he hurried to the door, but (Y/n)’s voice caught his attention.
“I didn’t mean to offend!” she shouted for him, she had managed to sit on the bed and was holding herself up with her arms behind her back “I could teach you to write.” she offered, her face growing hot.
The man turned back to her, his breathing a little shallow. He power walked back to her, his hands closed into fists. Then, he grabbed her by the arms and got closer to her. She didn’t have the time to react, he was already nodding with his head furiously, groaning loudly while doing so.
“W-we could start when I’m a little better.” she told him, a smile playing on her lips.
They heard the door being opened, turning their heads to look at who it was. It happened to be Luda Mae, smiling softly at their interaction.
“Sorry to interrupt.” she said, earning a little groan from Bubba, which she turned to look at him “Bubba, help grandpa downstairs, please.” she told him, entering the room completely now.
The man grumbled a little, walking out of the bedroom like a kid throwing a small tantrum.
“There’s no need to be this jealous!” his mother teased him, laughing a bit when the man covered his masked face and ran to his grandfather’s room “I’ll bring your supper when it’s ready, sweetheart.”
The girl only nodded, a small smile grazing her features while the woman headed to the kitchen. She got comfortable on the bed again, waiting for her dinner patiently. She could almost hear when everything was ready, the ruckus downstairs was pretty loud, but not enough for her to understand any words. Suddenly, the door popped open again, revealing Luda Mae holding a tray with plenty of food on top of it.
(Y/n) sat on the bed with some difficulty, trying to not be such a burden for the woman that saved her. Ma placed the tray on top of her thighs, trying not to hurt or touch her leg too much. The plate had some sausages, some beans and bread, and beside it there was a glass of juice, probably orange.
“Thank you, Ma.” she struggled a little to say the woman’s nickname, but did it nonetheless.
“It’s nothing, dear.” the woman grabbed a chair and sat beside the bed.
“You’re not going to eat?” the girl asked.
“I already did. I get as full as a tick quite fast.” Mae joked, patting the girl’s arm gently “I have some questions for you, dear.”
“Oh, alright. Go ahead.” she almost stopped eating, but she was too hungry to be bothered.
“Did your friends have family?” the woman went straight to the point.
"We came from an orphanage." she swallowed a piece of sausage.
"Oh dear, I'm sorry."
"It's alright." the girl smiled sadly "The meat is sweet, where did you buy it? It's really good."
"Thank you, honey. We make our own meat. Secret recipe." she held a finger up to her mouth, making a silent signal "Knowing this, I have a proposal to make you." Luda Mae sat up straighter on the chair, clearing her throat like she was going to say something really important "How would you like to live with us?"
“W-what?” the girl almost choked on her food.
“I assume you have nowhere to go, so you could stay with us.” the woman smiled, gesturing to the house.
“I-I don’t know what to say, ma’am.” the girl felt her eyes water.
“Oh, stop it!” Ma laughed, waving her hand around “I can give you some time to think about it, since you’re going nowhere with that leg of yours.” she pointed to her injured limb.
“Yes!” she said it quite fast “I mean, yes, I’ll take up that offer.” she smiled while blushing, her white teeth showing clearly.
“Oh, dear! I’m so happy!” the woman fanned her face with her hand, her smile showing through her eyes too “I’ll leave you to enjoy your dinner.” she patted the girl’s hand and left the room.
Luda Mae found her energetic son outside of the room, eavesdropping on her talk with (Y/n). She pulled his ear back to the living room, hearing him groan in pain until he dropped still on the sofa.
“What was that for, Ma!?” the man asked, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
“If she heard you, she might’ve said no.” she scolded him.
“And what’s the matter with that? We wouldn’t let her go anyway.”
“That’s true, but I wanted it to be nice for Bubba.” she sat on her own chair “You boys always have your playthings and he’s always focused on work.”
“Ah, so that’s why we aren’t allowed to mess with her.” Drayton appeared on the door, leaning his weight on the wall.
“If Bubba wants her to be a part of the family, then she’ll be part of it!” Luda Mae banged her hand on the chair’s armrest.
“If you want grandkids so bad, give her to me.” Drayton began, not hearing Leatherface coming close behind him “They’ll be born retarded just like him.”
Bubba groans loudly, covering his face and banging his feet on the ground, hurrying upstairs.
“See what you did?” Ma said, cleaning some sweat on her forehead.
Chapter Text
Suddenly, a giant came into the girl’s room, his groaning loud and his tears pouring heavily. She sat up on the bed, not expecting at all to have to deal with a grown man crying buckets while she had a broken leg and a massive headache.
“W-what happened?” she asked, patting the mattress beside her for him to sit there.
Bubba almost threw himself at her, kneeling on the floor and hugging her waist like a koala on a tree. He rubbed his dirty mask against her chest, making her blush a bit with the proximity. He cried and groaned non-stop, as if he was explaining what happened while crying, like a girl ranting about her friends to her mother.
“I-it’s alright, Bubba.” she said softly, patting his head slowly and uncomfortably “What made you so upset?”
The man looked up at her and grunted, probably saying the name in the way he knew how to.
“W-was it Ma?” she asked, trying not to upset him even more.
He shook his head furiously, it obviously wasn’t her.
“Your brother?” she continued, receiving a nod back “Was it the one with the dark mark on his cheek?” he shook his head “Was it Drayton?” another nod, this one angry and bringing more tears to the man’s eyes “Did he say something?”
Bubba nodded, extending his hand towards the girl he pointed to her chest, signaling that the conversation was about her. But then, he pointed to himself, making her believe that the man was mocking both of them.
“He was… Well…” she tried to find the words, but Ma saved her the trouble.
“He meant nothing with what he said.” the woman crossed her arms on her chest, walking slowly to the two on the bed “I gave him the dishes to clean as punishment.” she smiled softly, receiving another smile from the girl.
“What did he say?” (Y/n) asked, continuing to comb through Bubba’s hair, who now was looking at his mother while laying his head on the girl’s lap.
“He was just jealous that Bubba has a new friend.”
“I could… Could be his friend too.” the girl shrugged, not understanding what they meant.
Bubba hugged her tighter and looked at her wearily. He shook his head, rubbing his mask on her stomach and breasts, making her blush profusely and his mother sigh with a smile.
“I-I’m not gonna stop being your friend, Bubba.” she tried to calm him down, but it wasn’t working, he continued to shake his head “Alright! Alright! I’m not gonna be his friend, okay?” she couldn’t help the smile that appeared on her face when he looked at her with tears in his eyes and a hopeful expression on his masked face.
They continued to talk about trivial stuff while Bubba listened to their banter. He was happy that she would be only his, he wasn’t too fond of sharing his belongings, which he had a very small amount. He couldn’t help but feel giddy when her fingers stroked really close to his neck, almost at the top of his spine. He was in paradise, however, this moment of bliss was slightly cut off when the girl asked one specific question.
“Who does this room belong to?”
“Ah, it’s Bubba’s room.” Luda Mae told her, sitting on the bed too and patting her son’s back.
“Oh no!” the girl exclaimed, a shocked expression changing her previously happy face “Where’s he sleeping?”
“He’s downstairs on the couch, but don’t worry he-” the woman got interrupted.
“I’m sorry, Ma. But I can’t take his room!” the girl stopped petting the man’s head, making him look up at her “I should be the one on the couch, he’s, well, too t-tall for the couch, I suppose.” the girl couldn’t help the blush that spread around her face when she remembered the fact that he was almost 6’5.
“He is quite tall, isn’t he, dear?” Ma noticed how she reacted to him and decided to mess with her a bit, smiling when she tried to get her mind out of the gutter.
“Y-y-yes, h-he sure is.” the girl placed her hands on her lap, holding them together while pinching one of her fingers. Her face was cherry red and she hoped they couldn’t hear how fast and loud her heart was beating.
Bubba seemed to catch onto what they were saying, so he stood up and proudly showed his height, standing as straight as possible. The girl giggled and looked at him in awe, kind of joking with the man and really impressed at the same time. Luda Mae took advantage of that again and continued with the mocking.
“He’s really strong too, show her, baby.” Ma laughed while looking at the two interacting together.
The man flung his arms up, flexing both and making a superhero stance. The not-so-white shirt underneath the apron rose up on his arms, showing his hairy forearms. The girl kept swooning over him, clearly loving all the attention. Sure, she would prefer much more if he wasn’t using the mask, but that only added to his character. She blushed all over again, making his mother let out a funny laugh, alerting them both.
“I seriously can’t take his room.” the girl smiled again, taking her eyes off of the giant.
“How about we decide where you’ll be staying when you’re a little better sweetheart?” the woman said.
“A-alright.” the girl nodded, a faint blush still on her face.
Luda Mae seemed to remember something at that moment.
“Oh, dear! You should take a bath right away.” the woman got up, hurrying to the bathroom to fill the tub up.
“Th-there’s no need! I’ll be fine.” the girl said when she came back.
(Y/n) smiled embarrassed, Bubba’s presence making it worse.
“I insist, please.” Ma sat down on the bed again “Honey, could you please take (Y/n) to the bathroom?”
The man nodded eagerly, happy to help and to hold the cute girl in his arms again. The woman laughed a bit, having to place her hand on her mouth, when her son suddenly took the girl into his arms, holding her like a princess. (Y/n) let out a squeak, afraid of the sudden height and completely embarrassed by the fact that his mother was there just watching and having fun with the situation. She hugged his neck, feeling the muscles move and the sheer size of it. If it wasn’t for her broken leg, she would’ve enjoyed it a lot more.
Looking closely now, she could see that he wasn’t exactly a handsome man. He had uneven teeth, the skin under the mask seemed to be irregular too and the mask was so much uglier up close. However, that didn’t make him less interesting to her, she had always been into the ugly ones, being made fun of by Jenny, who always got the pretty boys. Oh, how she missed her snarky remarks and sour humor.
She was brought out of her thoughts when the man placed her on the side of the tub, seated on its edge. The girl could feel her leg throb, the blood going straight down to her foot and making it hurt more. She ignored it though, she would ask Luda Mae for a pain killer later.
Ma came into the bathroom soon after her son, seeing him stay on the corner while she got closer to the girl, hoping to help her out of her clothes.
“Bubba, what are you still doing here?” the woman asked Bubba.
He grew hot under the mask, he shook his arms around like crazy, which his mother seemed to understand somehow.
“I know you want to help, but right now you should be nowhere near this bathroom. Move along to the kitchen now, young man.” Luda Mae laughed when the man almost ran out of the bathroom and slammed the door shut “I’m sorry, sweetheart.” the woman turned back to her, hoping to help her out of her dress.
“I-it’s alright.” she stopped for a second, her blushed face having a soft smile “He’s cute.” she mumbled, not really planning to say that out loud.
“Oh, really?” Ma said, finding it all too funny and wholesome.
“No! I-Yes! I mean…” the girl hid her face in her hands, she could feel her hot face get even hotter.
Could this ‘vacation’ become even more embarrassing?
Chapter Text
She discovered that, yes, it could become more embarrassing.
The apex of awkwardness was when she finally got a little better and Ma asked her to join them for dinner. Not exactly her asking, but when Bubba brought her downstairs in his arms. The look his brothers and mother were giving them, made the two blush like crazy. His grandpa was there too, but the old man didn't even seem to be paying attention or even seemed to be alive at all.
The girl covered her face with her hands, too flustered to even acknowledge Bubba placing her on a chair. She only came to herself when a cackle filled the air, so she looked up at the table. The brother with a birthmark on his face was laughing loudly and waving a pocket knife around.
“Bubba’s got a girlfriend!” he kept repeating it over and over, making the giant’s face hot and receiving a slap to his neck by Drayton.
“Behave, Nubbins!” Luda Mae said, bringing a serving dish full of sausages with her and placing it on the table “Well, dig in!”
And so, they did. Well, everyone but (Y/n). She couldn’t reach any of the goods that were served, and Drayton noticed it. The man slapped Bubba’s neck and shoved him off his chair, making him stand up awkwardly.
“Help her up, dumbass!” the man shouted, earning another cackle from Nubbins.
The big man fumbled with his hands a little, clearly nervous to mess anything up, but soon did what he’s told. He placed two sausages on her plate and a bit of mashed potatoes. She thanked him gently, smiling at him. Bubba rubbed his hands together, flustered by the attention his crush was giving him.
The lunch went well, with the occasional shout from Drayton and laughs from Nubbins. The girl was more interested in the man sitting on the head of the table. She was pretty sure he was dead, but when Bubba got up to feed the old man some type of red liquid, she noticed that he sprang to life.
She continued to watch all of them interact while she ate, taking notes of what to say or act when they asked her something or she decided to comment on the topic at hand. Suddenly, she was completely caught off guard by Ma calling out to her.
“Y-yes, Ma?” she stuttered, feeling a little overwhelmed.
“How’s the food, honey?”
“It’s really good!” she said, placing another spoonful of mashed potatoes in her mouth.
“Girl, what were you doing passing by our property?” Drayton suddenly asked, curious and trying to cause a little mischief, see if she had any secrets or if he could make her uncomfortable “How did a bunch of orphans get a car to roam around like dying flies?”
“Drayton!” Luda Mae shouted, outraged by the man’s lack of empathy.
“If she’s gonna live with us, we gotta know her better, ain’t we?” the man said, crossing his arms and leaning on the chair he was seated on.
“I- Okay. I guess I should say something about myself.” the girl said, shrinking on herself “Me and my friends met in the orphanage, we grew up there. So, we got pretty close.” she shrugged, smiling over the memories that passed through her head “As we grew, we wanted to see the world, get out of that place. We got old enough to work and earn money, we bought a car and planned to travel someplace to find a house and jobs for all of us. But then, the crash happened.” she finished, looking into the infinite, lost inside her own mind.
The room was silent for a bit, but Drayton broke it with a smile and a fist punching the table not too hard.
“Good to know that you’re a worker!” he said, pointing at Bubba right after “You’ll be helping him with the animals and the kitchen.”
“Drayton, she’s in no condition to do anything yet. Poor thing can’t even stand on her own.” Ma said, smiling sympathetically at the girl.
“It’s all right, Ma.” she smiled too “I can help with anything after I’m healed. I don’t plan to stay still, sir.” she argued, showing that she could be a helping hand and not just another mouth to feed.
“Ha! You don’t know what you’re getting into, girly!” Nubbins laughed, eating his food quite fast and messy.
Drayton kicked his brother underneath the table, making him jump from surprise and start laughing harder.
“Now back to work, you dumbasses.” Drayton got up and grabbed Nubbins by the scruff of his neck, throwing him out of the room.
“Bubba, would you help me wash the dishes?” his mother asked him, already carrying some plates to the kitchen.
The big man only nodded, and grabbed the rest of the tableware and brought it to his mother. The girl was feeling kind of bad for doing nothing all day and being helped every time she had to do something specific. So she shouted for Bubba.
“I could help!” she said, looking between the giant man and his mother “I can dry the dishes.”
“All right, all right. I think you’ll be as handy as shirt pockets, dear.” Luda Mae said, placing the plates inside the sink “So, I’ll leave you two to it.” she took her apron off and gave it to Bubba, who happily put the pink clothing on “I’ll be at the store. Don’t break anything, young man!” she pointed at her son, squinting her eyes a bit, then, she turned to the girl still on the table “Keep an eye on him, sweetheart.” she joked, heading out of the kitchen.
“Yes, Ma!” (Y/n) shouted to her, a playful smile on her face.
Bubba seemed to be stuck on the same spot. He wasn’t sure what to do and was too shy to either ask (which he would do with a few grunts) or make a decision on his own. He was actually happy when the girl took the initiative to say something.
“Put a chair in the kitchen, that way it’ll be easier.”
The girl started to get up, completely forgetting about her broken leg. She could only stand up, but the immense pain she felt brought her to the ground. She couldn’t even put her arms forward to slow her fall with how intense the pain was. She curled in herself and held her leg to her chest, tears building up in her eyes and a groan coming out of her lips.
Bubba shook his arms around for two seconds, surprised by her action and afraid with her cry of pain. He hurried to her side, kneeling down on the ground and hovering his hands over her body, not knowing what to do. He usually just killed the ones that made noises, he didn’t know how to make them stop without a hammer or a chainsaw.
Since (Y/n) heard the man’s heavy footsteps, she opened her tightly closed eyes and searched for his face. She smiled awkwardly at him, like she only stubbed her toe on the side of the table.
“I-it’s all right, Bubba.” she said, letting go of her leg and leaning on her arm to stay seated “I just fell over.” she put her hand on the chair she was seated on and tried to get up again, planning to sit back on the chair.
But the man had other plans, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her away from the chair. She looked at him confused, he only shook his head, grunting softly.
“I’m fine, Bubba. Let’s clean those plates up.” she smiled again, dismissing his rough demeanor and confusing it with worry.
The man again shook his head, this time faster and grunting a little louder. He grabbed her, lifting her off the floor, surprisingly being gentle with her. She had a confused face while being dragged upstairs. She could sense something dangerous from the man, and an eerie feeling.
For the first time living with this family, she was afraid.
Chapter Text
He placed her on the bed again, walking around the room as she tried to calm him down. She didn’t know what happened to him. One second he was all cute and the next he looked like those serial killers from famous movies. She was afraid, sure, but deep inside she knew that he wouldn’t do anything to harm her.
Again, he did the same motion he had done various times already, walking around the room hitting himself and grunting loudly. However, this time, the girl couldn’t calm him down, she could only watch as he harmed himself and started to sob and cry. After some minutes, the man stopped his pitiful show and looked at (Y/n), who was worried while watching his frantic behavior.
“Bubba…” she began, but soon changed into a term of endearment “Honey, come here, please.” she said as softly as she could, patting her thighs to pass her message in an easier way.
The man stopped breathing for a second, he felt his heart beat faster and his face become hot. She was the first person to call him honey besides his mom. That made him tear up slightly, crouching down right away on the side of the bed and throwing his arms around her middle and hugging her close.
She blushed furiously and held him softly by his shoulders. She began patting his hair and back, trying to calm him down. The girl buried her face on the top of his head, sniffing his masculine scent, her heart beating a thousand miles per hour.
“I’m fine, honey.” she whispered in his hair, smiling as the man shook his head on her stomach “Let’s head back to the kitchen and finish the dishes.” she grabbed the sides of his face to look at her.
He only shook his head again, this time groaning loudly. He got away from her embrace, getting up from the ground and walking angrily at the door, stopping to look at her for a few seconds.
“Bubba, don’t leave me here, please.” she begged, she wanted nothing more than to distract herself, get out of this small room.
However, the man only closed the door fast and forcefully, a loud banging echoing around the house.
More sleep it is then…
<->
A sudden scream took her out of her dream. The scream was gory and visceral, though, she only heard it for a second before waking up. She wanted to get up, to check if everything was fine, but that was impossible. So, she decided to shout for the family.
“Ma?” she tried to call Luda Mae first.
There were some sounds coming from downstairs, but no voice or scream was heard again. She continued to pay attention, noticing how the sounds stopped completely after some time. She tried again to call someone again, this time Bubba.
“Bubba?” she waited for more noise, but this time, there was none “Is everything alright?”
After some seconds of silence, when she was almost giving up she heard footsteps coming upstairs, they were fast and heavy. The noise stopped at her door, as if waiting for another shout from her. But soon, it was opened, revealing Ma and Bubba covered in blood.
Her heart dropped and her face paled. Luda Mae had a hard expression on her face, as if she had just dealt with an annoyance. Bubba, well, he still had the mask on, but his stance was stiff. She could only think that someone was hurt, maybe Drayton or Nubbins. However, she could still feel something inside her gut telling her that it wasn’t that.
“Oh, my God! I-is everybody alright!?” she asked, getting slightly uncomfortable at their staring.
“Oh, nothing, dear.” the woman soon turned back to her old self, smiling kindly at the girl and walking inside the room, right next to her bed “Nothing to worry about.”
“B-but, I heard screaming and all this b-blood.” (Y/n) pointed out.
“This? It was just a pig that Bubba brought. It was still alive so he had to kill it.” Luda Mae began explaining “The scream was mine, I took a tumble in the blood on the ground and started hollering from the scare.” she laughed it off, now seeing how dirty she was.
“You’re not hurt, are you?” the asked, concerned for the woman’s health.
“Oh, I’m fine, dear.” Ma made a gesture with her hand, like the accident she had was nothing “Well, I’ll take a bath now. Bubba, honey, take care of that pig, will you?” the woman gave a dark look to her son.
The man nodded, waiting for his mother to enter the bathroom to head downstairs.
“Careful with the blood, Bubba.” the girl shouted at him, making him look at her and nod awkwardly, giving a small wave in her direction, which was received with a warm blush and a wave back.
Chapter Text
A few weeks passed and the family started up a routine. They would wake up in the morning, have breakfast together, Luda Mae and Drayton would go out to work, Nubbins would disappear to someplace and (Y/n) and Bubba would stay home. Bubba would make the meat in the basement and the girl would look after his grandpa (who usually didn’t do much except breathe).
She was finally able to walk small distances and lean on furniture and the walls, but it was better than staying in that room forever. Bubba still hadn’t moved to his own room, leaving her to keep sleeping there and him to be on the couch. And because of the routine she was now quite accustomed too that she asked for a change, something else to help with.
“Don’t get me wrong, Ma.” she tried to argue “Grandpa seems nice from what he can answer, but I wanted to help a little more.” she explained to her.
“All right, dear.” the woman sighed “I guess you can help Bubba with the small animals we have.” she smiled, seeing how happy the girl was just from getting out of the house.
“Thank you, Ma!” the girl hugged her all of a sudden, surprising her, but she didn’t let it show by hugging her back.
“Oh, it’s nothing, honey.” as she saw the girl hurry to the porch, she remembered something “Wait a minute! Let me fetch grandpa’s old cane.” the woman turned to the corridor, ready to go up the stairs.
“There’s no need, Ma. I’ll be careful.” she said, trying to not be a burden.
“Nonsense.” Luda Mae waved her hand, already climbing the stairs.
(Y/n) sighed, smiling softly while looking outside. It was a hot day, but not the ones that make you feel uncomfortable all the time, it was enjoyable, but still could make you sweat. She looked out of the porch, but only saw the tall dry grass and the path to the house. Where were the animals?
“Here, dear.” the woman scared her, shoving the cane into her hands “Be careful out there. Me and Drayton will be leaving soon, so any help you need ask for Bubba.” she stuck her head out of the front door “Bubba!” she shouted, hearing heavy footsteps on the grass approaching. When he appeared on the side of the house she continued, “Show her the animals.”
The man nodded slightly and shyly waited for the girl to follow him.
“Go, dear.” Ma pushed her a bit, making her start walking with the cane “We’ll be back by lunch.”
“Thank you again, Ma.” she smiled, walking slowly with the cane, getting accustomed to it.
“You don’t have to thank me, honey.”
The girl waved at the woman as she got almost out of view, rounding the porch and walking away from the house, following Bubba to the back where there was some type of barn, beside it a chicken coop (she assumed, since there were some chickens running in front of it).
The man was quite happy with the help he would receive, from his sweetheart nonetheless. He was almost jumping on his feet to the barn. The girl too seemed eager, walking as fast as she could with the cane.
She heard a car in the distance, looking behind her, she saw Ma and Drayton in a car, driving away. Every single day, when they would leave, she would become flustered and anxious. Being alone with Bubba in the house meant that she could only talk to him, which always made her extremely happy and nervous. Happy to spend some time with the sweet man and nervous on how to act around him.
She stopped to look around, it all seemed like a fever dream. The warmth of the sun, the slight pain in her leg, the dry grass beneath her feet. Everything made her almost sigh dreamily. It wasn’t an easy life nor the richest, but it seemed worth it.
She got out of her trance when Bubba shouted for her. Well, not shouted, groaned more likely. She hurried again after him, finally catching up in front of the barn.
“So, what will I be doing?” she asked, waiting for his instructions.
The man made some noises and opened the barn’s door, then, he grabbed a bucket and a stool, bringing them closer to her. He pointed at one of the cows, telling her that she would be milking the animal.
“Oh…” she became flustered, remembering that she didn’t know how to do even half of the farm work “I don’t know how to do it.”
Bubba pointed at his chest, inflating his lungs proudly, telling her that he would teach her.
“I hope I don’t mess it up.” she mumbled to herself, following the man once again.
He placed the stool next to the cow, her hind hooves were already bound to a nearby wood pole, preventing her from bucking when getting the milk. The bucket was already under the cow when he helped her down on the stool. His big heavy hands held her as gently as they could, her tiny ones dwarfed in comparison to his. She kept her injured leg stretched, not wanting to put too much pressure on it while it still healed.
She eagerly tried to hold the cow’s udder, but when she pulled it a bit, nothing came out. A frown came to her face. She looked down at the ground, hands now on her lap and her face flushed. The girl felt the man behind her shift, getting a bit closer, his body leaning over hers.
"W-what am I supposed to do?" she stuttered, feeling Bubba's torso rub against her back.
The man groaned and reached around her, almost in a hug. He had grabbed the udder with one hand and the girl’s hand with the other, putting them on the cow’s tit, holding her palm in place, with his still on top of hers. He applied some pressure to her hand, then he pulled it slightly, finally taking some milk out of the cow.
“W-wow!” she managed to say, actually surprised at how easy this was, but still aware of the huge man behind her “T-thank you, Bubba.” she said softly when he took his hand away.
That was when she noticed that his other hand was on her thigh, simply resting there. Her breathing became shallow and she could feel his own breathing on her neck.
A few seconds passed and she felt him sniff her hair, quite close to her ear, which made her squeal slightly. Which, in return, made him gasp roughly. He got up quickly and hurried out of the barn, almost knocking her out of the stool.
She wanted to shout for him, but decided it was best to let him cool off, since she too needed some time alone with her naughty thoughts and the cow in front of her.
Chapter Text
The girl had been at it for a few minutes, feeling that the cow’s udder was finally empty, or at least empty enough to let her calf drink. When she was finished, she waited for Bubba to come get the milk. However, she wasn’t even hearing the man. Maybe he had entered the house again?
She tried shouting for him, which seemed to not have a great effect. More minutes passed and her leg was starting to hurt because of the position. She groaned and took a breath in, thinking on how to get the milk to the house without injuring her leg more.
She got up from the stool using the cane that Ma gave her, then, she let go of it, hoping to get a better grip on the bucket. She crouched down and grabbed the handle, feeling that it would be more difficult than she had thought. But, with extreme difficulty, she managed to drag it to the entrance of the barn.
The girl looked behind her, wondering if the man entered by the back door, but still he was nowhere to be seen. However, when she turned back around, Bubba was right in front of her. She took quite a scare, and she would’ve dropped the bucket if the man hadn’t grabbed it fast enough.
With how close he was and the bucket fumbling from her hands to Bubba’s, she lost her balance, falling butt first on the muddy ground. She saw white when she felt her leg being forced, hitting the ground with quite a blow. (Y/n) gasped, not able to let out a sound with how much pain she was feeling.
The giant of a man didn’t know what to do, he was too stunned to even help her when she started falling. But when she gasped, he instantly dropped the bucket, luckily it landed straight on the ground, only having some of the milk spill out. Bubba crouched in front of her, his hands hovering over her legs and body like he didn’t know where to touch.
She finally got able to move, the pain diminishing just a little bit for her to place both her hands on top of her leg, holding the limb always made people think that it would stop hurting faster. Call it instinct. It only made it worse, her leg was still sore and sensitive, so it gave her a sharp pain on top of the skin. Now she was able to finally cry and whine all she wanted. Her hands left her leg to find her face, wiping the raging tears that were falling from her eyes. Through her watery eyes, she could see the milk on the ground and the man watching over her.
“T-the milk…” she managed to say, some hiccups coming out of her mouth “I’m s-sorry.” and the waterworks came back with full force.
Bubba did the only thing he could think of, he slowly placed his hand on top of her head, rubbing it tenderly, just like she and his mother did to him. He felt her tense for a bit, but soon her body relaxed, her tears seemed to begin to stop little by little. At some point, she even began to smile, showing her sad face from crying but with a toothy grin pointed at the man.
“I’m okay now, Bubba.” she said, patting her dress and positioning her hands on the ground to help her get up.
The man shook his head, his hands moving to her shoulders, preventing her from moving. He took them off her shoulders and motioned her to stay in place. She was about to argue, but decided to let him do his thing. Bubba moved to the bucket, hurriedly grabbing it and awkwardly running back to the house. The girl just hoped that he wouldn’t leave her alone.
She thanked God when she saw him run back to her, panting and clearly tired. He was a big man after all, all this exercise must be really tiring on him. When he finally got to her, he moved behind her body. She thought that he would help her up, but she felt the ground shake when he sat down right at her back.
“Bubba, don’t! You’ll get all muddy.” she said, and there went the idea of entering the house again, if they did, Ma would be pissed for sure.
The man placed both his legs around her body, his chest almost touching her back, she could feel the heat coming from him. She blushed and her body tensed. What was he trying to do?
When she felt his hairy arms wrap around her, she started feeling dizzy. Now, he was completely stuck to her, his chest right on her back and his arms wrapped around her waist. She tried breathing calmly, but the sniff he gave to the top of her head took her by surprise. She understood that he might be thinking that she was hurting, maybe saying that she was fine, not really telling the truth.
“O-oh, Bubba.” she said, placing her hands on top of his arms on her waist “I can assure you, I’m fine.” she looked up, regretting right away, as her face got quite close to his “W-we… We should…”
Bubba groaned, shaking his head from side to side, holding her a little bit tighter. Well, it seemed that she would be stuck with him until someone arrived.
<->
When she finally heard the family’s car arrive, she almost jumped, but the man kept holding her down. She didn’t know where to put her face. How would Ma and Drayton react? She placed her hands on top of her eyes, not wanting to see their expressions.
“What in the world happened?” Ma said, her hands on his hips while looking at the two kids on the ground.
The woman felt that Drayton would make a snarky remark, so she shut him up quickly.
“Go start supper.” she simply said, still looking at the two.
“M-Ma… I can explain.” (Y/n) mumbled, afraid that the woman would think that she was taking advantage of him.
“Well, start yapping, ‘cause I ain’t you two inside the house in that state.” she crossed her arms.
“I helped Bubba with the milk, but when I was taking it outside, I fell.” she rubbed her hands on one another “I-I think he was too worried about me to let me get up.”
“Oh, dear.” the woman sighed, but smiled “You shouldn't have lifted in on your own. Well, at least you're okay, it seems. Bubba!” Ma said a little louder, the man turned to her, his expression showed that he was a little afraid “Help her up. I’ll get the hose to clean you both.”
“Ho-hose?” the girl asked, not even noticing the man almost throwing her up in the air.
“You’ll dirty the whole house before getting to the bathroom. Easier to do it outside.” she unrolled the old hose that was by the side of the house “Now, Bubba, take your clothes off.”
“What?!”
Chapter Text
(Y/n) turned her back as quick as she could when Bubba instinctively took his apron off. However, when he did, he remembered that the girl was present, immediately shaking his head at his mother. Luda Mae sighed and stomped her feet on the ground.
“She ain’t looking at you, honey.” Ma told him, turning the hose on “I’ll do it fast so you can grab a towel for her.”
The man reluctantly nodded, taking off his shirt, pants and shoes quite quickly. Now, he stood in only his underwear, but he still felt like he was being watched. He looked at the girl, who had her back to him, she seemed to be fumbling with her hands and he could see that her ears were red.
He was suddenly shot with a jet of water hitting his back, a groan leaving his mouth, it was warm from the heat. Though, his focus wasn’t on cleaning himself, it was on the girl that had turned to see what happened because of the sound he made.
The girl was about to ask him if he was okay, but when she turned she was met with his naked body. She quickly placed a hand on her mouth, preventing her from gasping too loudly. (Y/n) couldn’t help but to look him up and down. He still had his mask on, but his hairy chest was full on display, dark curls covering the tanned skin. Moving her eyes quickly down, she was able to see the hairs entering the underwear, leading to… She turned away again when he covered himself with his hands. She saw how his undies were becoming transparent and…
What was she thinking?! His mother was right behind him! She probably saw it and now she thinks that the girl is one of those sleazy types.
“And… Done!” Luda Mae shouted when her boy didn’t move when she turned the water off.
He jumped and hurried inside the house, not even hearing his mother reminding him to bring a towel for her.
The young woman hesitantly took her dress off, leaning on her good leg to prevent the other from hurting too badly. Ma placed her clothes on top of Bubba’s, ready for a long wash. She noticed how uncomfortable the girl was, smiling softly as she covered her breasts and crouched a bit.
“You’re fine, honey.” she started, turning the water on again “I’ll do it as fast as I can.”
The water didn’t really bother her, it was still warm, but the fact that she was almost naked made her shiver on her feet.
She didn’t know that there was someone watching her from the top floor window. Bubba climbed up the stairs, all wet and blushed, when he saw Drayton looking out of the window. The man turned his head to the side, seeing his brother doing some type of motion with his hand.
The older man got scared when he saw Bubba with the corner of his eye, laughing it off while fixing his pants. He actually wasn’t doing anything wrong, just that the girl was a sight for sore eyes, it did make him hard, but he wasn’t Nubbins to be doing that type of thing. Drayton patted Bubba’s shoulder strongly, bringing him close to himself. He forced the man to look through the window, making him see what the older man was seeing before.
Bubba stopped on his tracks, feeling his muscles tighten bizarrely. He looked at Drayton laughing and biting his lips grossly while watching (Y/n) get sprayed with water on the back of the house.
“She’s a cutie, isn’t she?” the older brother asked, laughing at himself while still watching the girl.
The giant of a man growled and grabbed his brother by the scruff of his neck, yanking him back and away from the window.
“Hey! What the fuck, you retard?” Drayton shouted, trying to turn and hurt his brother.
The kid-like man had never done something like this, he was always submissive. That girl was fucking up his mind for sure. Drayton shook himself off of the man, giving Bubba’s neck a hard slap, making him cower again, like he usually did.
“Bubba!” they heard Ma call from outside.
“Got saved by the bell.” Drayton groaned, heading down to the kitchen again.
The giant headed hurriedly to grab a towel, after he did, he came back to the back of the house, where the girl was being covered by his mother in a hug. He almost couldn’t look up, seeing patches of her naked body when they moved. The girl too looked at him, he was still only wearing his underwear, now being completely transparent. She thankfully didn’t keep her eye on him, turning her head flustered to the side.
He gave his mother the towel and hurried inside, hearing Ma shout a ‘thanks’ for him. He soon changed his clothing and went back outside when the girl and his mother were already inside, Luda Mae helping her to take a bath.
Bubba felt his pants tight and his groin hurt for the rest of the day.
Chapter Text
A few more days passed and she was able to walk on her own, not needing the cane anymore. She had been helping feed the chickens and milk the cow, nothing too hard or that needed strength. And she was finally able to give Bubba his room back. It was a bit of a struggle. He didn’t want it at all, pointing to her injured leg and the sofa, as if saying that it wouldn’t be comfortable for her at all.
Luda Mae too tried to convince her to keep sleeping upstairs, but she was set on letting Bubba keep his room to himself. He needed some privacy didn’t he? Mother and son reluctantly agreed, with the condition that she would call for them if anything happened or if anyone knocked on the door. Which was a weird request since she didn’t see any houses around when she was outside.
That day she had helped Bubba, laughing as she or he did something wrong or clumsily. They were a silly pair. They were cute to look at and even cuter to hear. She always talked about her tastes in music, in movies and clothes, and he always listened. The man would hum and nod as if agreeing to what she was saying. They had wonderful days together as they laughed and worked. The past few days sure became like a dream to her.
That evening was quite lovely. She had introduced him to the alphabet, slowly drawing the letters and making their sounds as she wrote them. The man only stuck to three letters, the first of the alphabet. And that was fine, he had his own time.
She stayed up until a little late with him, only pronouncing those letters and writing them. Every time he drew them slightly better she’d praise him with claps and smiles, and sometimes with a pat to his leg or a squeeze to his arm. It all seemed to make him giddy and shy, but he liked it nonetheless.
Ma soon left the kitchen, having readied the sausages for the next day, and told Bubba to hurry upstairs to sleep, it was quite late anyway. She helped the girl with a pillow and a bed sheet. (Y/n) said goodnight to everyone, waving at a shy Bubba as he walked upstairs.
She changed her clothes quickly, in case anyone entered the living room while she did it. She cozied herself up on the sofa, which was quite big for her, maybe small for Bubba. She wondered how he slept on it for weeks. It must have been uncomfortable.
She took some time to fall asleep, but she managed to do it.
(Y/n) had closed her eyes for what she felt was only two seconds before she got woken up. A noise coming from the stairs made her shake and open her eyes wide, trying to see something in the darkness. She saw the silhouette of a person, outlined in the dark, the soft light from the moon illuminating sufficiently to be able to distinguish it from the black background.
She continued to look at it, it was standing still. It started to frighten her a bit. She didn’t know who it was. Maybe someone was a sleepwalker. She rubbed her eyes to make sure that it was there and not a figment of her imagination.
Drayton had been staring at her for quite some time. However, the crusty house made a cracking noise when he changed his footing. He cursed in his mind and hoped that the girl wouldn’t wake up, which happened anyway. He could see her face in the dark, she was clearly a bit afraid. He wanted to get closer, but she would scream. His better alternative was to wait for her to fall asleep again to finally attack.
Bubba had heard the door next to his room open. He had been sleeping like a baby, her soft smell still on the sheets. He had hugged and cuddled the linens for minutes on end before falling asleep with a smile on his face. And Drayton disturbed it all. He left his room quietly as always, careful to not let anyone hear. Even though he was a big man, he knew all the cracks the house could make, so he could walk and even run silently. He saw his brother looking at his sweetheart. And he could feel that his intentions weren’t good at all.
As the girl rubbed her eyes, Bubba pushed Drayton to the side, making him fall with a gasp. (Y/n) opened her eyes again, the noise scaring her. The new silhouette standing was taller and wider. She knew right away who it was.
“Bubba?” she called out, whispering.
She searched for the light switch, turning the lights on with a blinding sensation. The scene wasn’t quite like she was expecting it to be.
Drayton was on the ground, rubbing his side, and Bubba was standing right beside him, huffing and puffing.
“I-I was only going to grab some water!” the man on the ground said, slowly getting up.
“Is everything alright?” the girl asked.
“I fell when the retard bumped me.” Drayton angrily said.
He had seen Bubba push him, but he wasn’t going to pass as the nasty one. Fuck that girl, he could keep her all he wanted.
She didn’t like when Drayton would call him names. But she wasn’t close enough to the family yet to reprimand him. So she decided to stay quiet for now.
“Go back to sleep, you two.” Drayton walked to the kitchen and grabbed some water, taking it to his room with a huge pain running up his spine.
“Goodnight, Bubba.” the girl said, turning the lights out again.
The giant of a man walked to the sofa and sat right in front of it, like a dog guarding his owner.
“What is it, Bubba?” the girl asked, moving the messy hairs from her face to look at the man.
She noticed that he wasn’t wearing his mask, but she couldn’t see his face at all, he was turned to the other side. Only his unruly hair was shining in the moonlight.
He shook his head violently. She didn’t want him to become distressed in the middle of the night, so she said in a soft voice:
“You can stay here until you’re sleepy again, honey.” she smiled, placing her hand on top of his head.
He smiled too, and would soon fall asleep to her soft and caring touch.
Chapter Text
When she woke up Bubba wasn’t by her side anymore and it looked like the others were awake already. She could hear sound coming from the kitchen and a car moving away from the house. (Y/n) decided that it was best for her to get up, it could be late already.
She got up in her nightwear and walked to the kitchen with her cane. Luda Mae heard her coming and turned from the sink to her.
“Good morning, sweetheart.” she greeted the girl.
“Morning, Ma.” she smiled, stopping at the entrance of the kitchen “Need help?”
“I’m working on breakfast, don’t worry. But I’m pretty sure Bubba is needing help with the eggs.” she laughed alone.
“And why is that?”
“He’s known to crush the eggs when getting them. Make sure that he doesn’t break them today, dear.”
“Sure thing, Ma!” she made a military pose, with her hand on her head like a soldier and turned again to change clothes and head to the chicken coop, which was beside the barn.
After confirming that all of the men were out of the house with Luda Mae, she changed from her gown and found a cute dress to put on. She felt like a housewife with this dress on. It was flowy and flowery. She just wished that she could wear her pretty shoes too, but the mug would get in the way. She also wished that Bubba would like her dress.
She walked with her cane to the chicken coop, seeing the big man from afar trying to get the eggs while the chickens ran around him and the bucket that had food in it. He had his arms inside the coop trying to carefully scoop the eggs with his hands, but when he brought them back, they were broken. When he was about to hit himself on the head, he saw the girl, looking at him worried, so he stopped right away. He knew that she didn’t like when he hit himself.
“Need help, honey?” she said softly, and that was when he noticed how cute she looked, her dress didn’t show much, but his eyes couldn’t help but wander over her body.
She had to cough a bit to make him get out of his trance. The man blushed and fumbled on his steps, holding the crushed eggs on both his hands.
“Morning, Bubba.” she smiled, holding her hands together in front of her “Ma told me to help you with the eggs.”
The man seemed to pout and opened his hands, showing the shells on his hands and the egg whites and yolks running through his fingers. She couldn’t help but laugh a bit, and opposite to what she thought he would do (hit himself), it seemed to calm him. He was waiting for a beating and received a cute laugh instead. This girl was truly sent from heaven to him.
She extended one of her hands to touch his, looking at his eyes for permission. He didn’t move a muscle. She grabbed his wrist and brought him by it to the hose outside of the house. She opened the water and sprayed it on his hands, passing her hand a few times over his to clean it better.
The man was feeling extremely giddy and excited. She was touching him so gently and kindly, he wanted to feel more of her touch, he wanted to know the texture of her hair, be able to count her eyelashes and even touch her. However, he knew that the moment he tried anything that would be the last. She would hate him and call him names like his brothers did. So quiet he stayed, even though he could feel blood rushing to areas that it shouldn’t.
“There.” she said, grabbing the cloth on his waist and drying his and her hands “Now let's gather more eggs.”
She started walking back to the coop with him on her trail, like a dog waiting for a command.
“I’ll grab them and give them to you. No need to close your hands.” she explained, making a bowl out of her own hands “You can do it like this.”
He imitated her, nodding eagerly. She grabbed four eggs, two on each hand and placed them on his opened hands. She noticed that he could fit at least five eggs on each hand, she couldn’t even hold two without having to be more careful. Oh, those hands. She had imagined many things with those hands.
He was looking intensely at her, now he had all the time to watch her. Her soft hair falling on her face and she fixing it before grabbing another egg, her delicate hands brushing against his and her eyes blinking softly at him. They were in silence for a few seconds, but when she was done placing them on his hand, she stopped. Only one egg was still on her hand.
She had stopped right as she saw the look he was giving her. She could see his eyes shine for her, he was completely paralyzed. And soon she became too. She couldn’t even blink when she started to approach his face slowly, hoping that the magic wouldn’t fade suddenly. She looked at his mouth, which was slightly opened while he looked at her curiously. He seemed to gulp, closing his mouth for a brief moment.
Surprisingly, he was the one that closed the gap in between them. Her eyes became the size of plates, she wasn’t expecting him to take the lead. But soon she closed her eyes, enjoying the soft sensation of his lips and ignoring the rough texture of the mask around it. She could feel her heart almost exploding and she could tell that his heart was also beating out of his chest, his cupped hands had come closer to his chest. He had to crouch a bit to kiss her, she was sure that he looked cute that way.
Bubba was floating, he couldn’t believe how he had the courage to do something so bold. He was kissing his sweetheart! He had never even touched a girl before and he was being kissed. Or was he kissing her? He didn’t know, but he wanted to boast it to his family and show his brothers that he was capable of having a girlfriend.
He felt (Y/n) stopping the kiss, but he wanted more, so he stayed crouched and puckering his lips until he heard a small gasp. Was she grossed out by him, was she suddenly wanting to run from the house? However, when he opened his eyes he saw her smiling at him while opening her hand to him. She had crushed the last egg. So that was why she stopped the kiss.
“So much for being careful.” she laughed a bit.
She suddenly felt shy, thinking about what she did and what Ma would think or if she saw it.
“L-let’s bring the eggs inside.” she blushed and walked with her cane past him.
He turned to follow her and hurried to be in front of her, still cupping the eggs with his hands. He stopped right on her face and crouched again, puckering his lips. She blushed furiously, afraid that more in the open more people would be able to see. If Drayton and Nubbins came home they would have a perfect view of the kiss. So she did it quickly.
“O-okay. Just one more.” she touched her lips against his one more time.
He almost had a skip on his step while walking to the house while she was starting to sweat from the pressure.
