Work Text:
She never expected to be more than a side character when she woke up in this world but apparently not relying on your quirk was a big red flag in this world.
Well, that's not her problem and even if she did focus on her quirk, it's technically illegal to even use it without a license.
She does have a license but that's not the point, the point is that people got really offended if she doesn't try.
And that's what got her stuck in this situation.
"In order to break the symbol of peace, we can always break him through you..." The crusty faced hand for a mask bratty millennial had the audacity to threaten her with his fingers of doom.
The other burnt victim standing to the side seems to be confused as hell as to why my collage ass was even connected to All Might in the first place.
After all wasn't the symbol of peace teaching a bunch of teens in highschool? Guess someone leaked something to handsy man since he looks happy with capturing me and the mini bomb polmerian.
I digress, if I were genuinely not tired to the point of looking like a zombie then said kidnapping would not even take place.
"How the hell is this chick the key to All Might's downfall?"
Ah, yes- enlighten the class handsy man and with diagrams. Never forget the diagram.
I looked at the kid in literal chains beside me and mentally calculated whether my sleepy underfed ass could take these guys on and escape to the hospital and get a drip because dehydration is a bitch and a half to go through when you had it.
However, dear old dad will not be pleased with me leaving his student behind to fend for himself. So, I have to save the kid as well- Aizawa owes me big time for this shit show.
"Well, well- The symbol of peace has forgotten to mention to the masses about his quirkless vulrenable daughter..."
Handsy man laughs maniacally like the whole thing wasn't just a stupid misunderstanding on his part because,
One, I wasn't quirkless, I do not care either way but villains actually thinking that it's true? Bold of you to assume, crusty.
Two, sure Toshinori Yagi is my father but that was common knowledge at this point- idiots could tell from a single glance at my surname.
Lastly but not the least, vulrenable? I'm pretty sure that was the last thing gramps Sorahiko would ever call me.
"Seriously...you kidnapped me because of my dad? Like, no cap." She asked, using her apparently not-quirk to scope the area and give the kid a look.
He looked like he was in the verge of hyperventilating on the spot. Well the crusty bitch called me quirkless so it feels like he would be on his own on this kind of thing, if your mind processed this way.
However, I was the adult in this situation so it fell on me to actually stress us outta the joint.
The villains looked confused by my lack of fear and obviously suicidal tendencies- I never said I was a perfect kid this time around either, plus Toshi was actually a great dad- a grade one idiot but a great dad.
(Sorry for not being a good kid...)
"Wait- All Might's your dad!!" The burnt victim yelled in shock, like it was such a big reveal.
The polmerian as well as the other convicts all looked to me in shock or was it confusion-
"I mean of all reasons to kidnap me, like it was because of my dad- ." The crusty bitch was apparently the leader so I was going to address him.
"Yes-
"You do realise that he won't be allowed to save me now since it's personal, right?" I knew this fact since I was small.
It was the first lesson I learnt as a kid and one I continued to keep in mind.
(This is not the first time that the familiar bitterness could be tasted at the tip of my tongue. And I died in the Before because I thought someone would save me but they left me-)
"What are you talking about?" Oooouuuu, Crusty's mad. Mad Af.
"Read my lips crusty, my dad won't save me..." I grinned.
"And why is that?" He seethed.
I leaned back, watching his eyes widened as he witnessed what aunty Nemuri would call a supernova cat eye, leading to an explosion far grander and more controlled firework show.
They couldn't escape and plus the kid was in my bubble, safe but yuck. Adolescence.
(All Might watched the news as a building in Kamino exploded with a very familiar power; The police all gathered around the paralyzed villains and a wide eyed Bakugo.)

Dabi woke up without feeling the familiar pull of his stapled flesh and knew something was wrong.
He looks up to see a fairly neat, white painted room with shelves of mismatched books and a familiar number one hero posing with a dark haired girl with a surgical mask on her face and an ackward grin as they held her diploma for high school in a picture frames above it.
And All Might's strange as hell daughter.
"So, you're awake and guessing by the non-existant damage, you're calm. Tea? Coffee? Another skin graft- I'm out of those at the moment, ask me later-
"Where the hell am I and where are the others?"
"Crusty is in prison alongside AFO, Toga-chan is with my uncle on I-island for therapy as well as Twice, the others are probably dead-
"Probably- You psycho bitch!!" He lunges for her but with a wave of her hand, he is forced to his bed.
"Listen here, burn victim. I missed out my thesis presentation because of you fuckwits and I am the only reason you aren't in jail. So shut the fuck up and listen because even my dad doesn't know you're here."
Dabi blinks in shock. She...what-
"All Might doesn't know you're keeping me here. A villain."
"Pops and I have an understanding about privacy- plus, he owes me big time for letting me loose in a society that worships the ground he casts his shadows on; understandable but it's weird as hell."
"Wha-
"And I need friends. You hate my old man's guts, so you don't look up to him, meaning you aren't biased. Toga also told me all about you, the sweetie pie." She sat on her chair and looked at him, impressed.
"You look good. Guess my hard work paid off. Here-" she waves off her quirks effects and gave him a hand held mirror. He stares, because-
"Oh, btw that skin is for life. Reverse engineering your genetics to give your body fire immunity was a pain but guess you're safe to stroll the streets as an ordinary citizen."
She hands him a brown bag of clothes and a toothbrush.
He looks to it then to her.
What the hell was she playing at-
"I kinda need a personal assistant to run my business whilst I investigate something, the pay is good and you get to stay at this house, whatcha say?" She says so blandly.
It surprised him but yes, she was far too normal to be All Might's kid. She didn't talk about America even once.
Well, it's not like he could do anything to his own bastard of a father at the moment, so why not?
"Sure, how much are we talking about?"
She smiles.
(Dabi doesn't know that if her own father say that smile he would jump away from the scene. Plausible deniability at it's finest.)
