Chapter Text
My bones throbbed as I laid perfectly still, waiting mutely for my sister to spit on me, indicating she was finished with me for now. Eventually, the saliva landed on my cheek and forehead, coating them in a revolting layer of liquids. "Stay away from U.A. Deku. Or I swear to All Might I will kill you." She spat. She began to walk away before pausing at the mouth of the alley. "Even our parents want you dead." She sighed. She appeared disappointed, as though I had done something to justify the treatment. She stepped out of the alley and vanished from sight. I clambered into a standing position and clutched my bag tightly in my hand, bolting past people to get to the lake. Once I was there I pulled a smaller kit from my rucksack and prepared it. I used a plastic bag to store my dirty clothes in before grabbing a heavy-duty brush and scrubbing my skin clean.
Once my skin was once again spotless, I grabbed my clean clothing and a towel considering I moved into the water moments ago. I stepped out onto a neat plastic sheet and dried myself, delicately dressing so I would stay fresh. I placed a face mask and gloves on along with my shirt, jeans, and shoes. I gathered everything up neatly in my backpack and walked to my favorite cafe. It happened to be near U.A and remained open at all times so I loved to rest and analyze the heroes that came in. I noticed that Kamuri Woods -a newer hero that works during the day mostly- worked from 4 am to 6 pm and 9 pm to 7 am on Fridays, while Eraserhead -an underground hero I admire- works from 7 pm to 3 am. I write my data in journals using a code I created. The code has 130 letters and 10 numbers in symbols that look almost identical. Nobody can determine the difference unless they can identify what they're searching for.
"Excuse me." I heard. Upon looking up I saw Midnight -another hero I like- standing with Eraserhead -my all-time favorite hero- with Nezu -the Principal of my dream school- on his shoulder. "Do you mind if we sit with you?" She asked again. I gestured to the empty seats before continuing my analysis on The Hero Killer: Stain, a video playing on loop across my phone screen. "Hi! Welcome to The Heroes Cafe, what can I get you?" A waitress asked as they got seated. They were talking among themselves so I decided I'd order for them. "One plain black coffee, mango boba, oolong tea, honeydew boba, and an earl gray tea." I told her as the conversation beside me screeched to a halt. "Okay. Will that be all?" She asked. "Yes, thank you." I responded. I then finished the analysis on Stain and removed my mask. "How did you know our orders before we even decided?" Midnight asked baffled. "You always take 5 minutes of deciding before lading on the same thing every time and Mango is the only thing Mic gets here." I explained as it was placed on the table. "But he's not here." She countered. "But he will be. Instead of sitting in the other empty chair, you brought one over meaning you expect someone to show up. The only person in your friend group that gets off at 5 is Mic." I explained again.
"You know our schedules?" She asked again. "Yes. I analyze everybody who walks through that door and take note of the times. For instance, Kamui Woods has work during the day Monday through Thursday, like everyone knows, but nobody knows that he takes extra shifts in the red light district from 9 pm to 7 am every Friday. His morals don't line up to mine but he's on the right track." I finished, analyzing All Might. "I hope you don't mind me asking. What's your quirk?" Nezu asked as I finished the analysis. "I don't mind. I'm quirkless, the only reason I can't be a hero it seems." I muttered the last bit to myself but... Good hearing. "Why can't you?" Eraser asked as Mic started walking over to us. "Even U.A has rules that shove our noses in the dirt, sir. Eventually, you get tired of tasting the iron." I explained, grabbing my stuff and leaving. When I got home everybody was eating diner so I just went to my room. I opened the window and climbed onto the roof, ignoring the liquid running at me. I felt the liquid go up my pantleg and dissolve into my skin, 6 voices entered my head at the same time and gave me a migraine. I quickly made my way to my room and promptly passed out.
When I opened my eyes, my head started pounding and the voices started yelling at me.
