Chapter Text

Felix grimaced as he trudged through thick foliage using his hand to maneuver branches and leaves out of his way as he pushed forward. Felix may have grown up in the city but he was no city boy and had a healthy appreciation for nature but this was pushing his boundaries. He wasn’t much for dirt and scratchy branches.

He sighed as he mumbled “ Oh Felix I have a big important assignment for you. Eager as always huh, Felix. Took the assignment thinking the boss had finally seen your potential that you are actually good at your job. “ Felix jumped at the end of his inner tirade.

Being a rare unpresented individual in the world was hard. You were either mocked as evolutionary unsuitable or seen as lesser than everyone and only a grunt to do menial tasks. Felix hated it. He hated where his genetics had placed him in life.

He was born a healthy boy to an alpha-omega couple so why hasn’t his secondary gender presented yet. Felix feels his face twist into a frustrated mask as he trudged further into the brush in search of werewolves.

As ridiculous and rare an unpresented individual was werewolves were even rarer and regulated to folk tales only. Individuals so in touch with their inner wolf that they could maintain the form of one at will could only exist in mythology Felix thinks. When Felix heard his big assignment was chasing werewolf sightings in the jungle he had all but visibly deflated knowing his company would never respect him and would rather send him on a fool’s errand in the middle of nowhere than recognize his talent.

Felix is stuck in his head when he hears the crashing of foliage and snapping of branches. He freezes trying to pinpoint the location of the ruckus. Felix slowly makes his way towards the sounds as slowly and sneakily as he can be. He slaps his hand over his mouth to cover a gasp as he sees a large grey wolf with brown paws wrestling with a deer.

Felix must not have been quick enough with covering his mouth for the wolf raises his gaze from the kill his jaws are currently wrapped around the throat of and makes eye contact with the intruder. The grey wolf eyes lock onto Felixs and he’s paralyzed wondering what the wolf thinks. Is Felix so intimidating to be considered a threat? He doubted it as being unpresented left him with no scent.

Felix could not tear his eyes from the wolf who was using his jaws to suffocate his prey. The wolf’s eyes and thoughts were not on the kill but the intruder staring at him. The wolf inhaled but could only smell the blood of the kill.

Once the deer was dead he released the animal from his jaws and stared harder at the intruder. After several moments of staring, he releases a snarl and leaps towards the scentless intruder.

The wolf thought the intruder half rabbit with how fast he ran. The wolf was faster and as he closed in he rapidly shifted to human to tackle the intruder to the ground.  He snarled as he stares down at the boy underneath him and wrenches him up to slam his back against a nearby tree.

The wolf(human?) then shoves his nose against Felix’s jawline and into the juncture of his neck and shoulder. Felix stand paralyzed by the confusing behavior. He know rural tribes have different customs and are not always kind to outsiders. He assesses that it is better to remain still than to upset the man currently pinning him to a tree. He was still unsure of what he saw as he was certain that it was a wolf chasing him but the person currently pinning him to a tree was very clearly human.

A frustrated growl is released into his neck as the stranger removes his head to gaze into Felix’s eyes. A louder more frustrated snarl is released from the man and Felix feels like he’s been asked a question. Felix is unable to concentrate on the supposed question as he feels his body instantly become hotter under the gaze.

He can’t possibly believe that his ridiculous display of dominance is attractive but Felix feels his cheeks flush and he’s suddenly panting from the heat and under the gaze of the stranger he can only think how attractive he is with his sharp chin and strong buff arms that can hold him. Felix inhales deeply at the sight of the attractive man in front of him, his body compelled him to complete the action regardless of any self- preservation.

As soon as the scent of campfire reaches his nose Felix feels the heat in his body intensify. The flush upon his cheeks feels like a sunburn and his skin tingles and aches with the need to be touched. The bark of the tree against his back is agonizingly sharp with how sensitive his skin has gotten. He craves the feeling of soft hands caressing him. Felix releases a soft whimper and watches the man pinning him to a tree pupils blow wide as his nostrils flare and suddenly is burying his face into his neck again.

The man is inhaling and Felix lets out a soft moan at the noise and feel of the man in his neck. Felix brain only saying “Yes, yes, yes.” Yes to what, Felix didn’t know beyond the fact he liked the man’s face buried in his neck. He angles his head and chin up and away from the man and is rewarded with a satisfied grunt as his nose is shoved impossibly deeper into Felix’s neck. Felix was about to reach his hand to touch the stranger’s hair when they hear rustling in the bushes and both males freeze. A feral growl emanates from the other’s chest and Felix’s brain floods with confusion before he hears voices.

The growl is still rumbling in the stranger’s chest as an Australian accent cuts through the air. “Changbin I smelled blood. Did you catch a big kill? The blood was so strong until it was cut off by something.”

The voice stops as it nears the pair. The new arrival assesses the scene in front of him. His pack member has an intruder pinned to a tree but a sweet warm chocolate smell is emanating from the newcomer. Strong enough to suffocate the whole clearing and drown out his own pack member’s scent as well as the nearby kill. Chan struggles to assess the scene as more than what he sees.

He isn’t given the chance to fully assess what is in front of him and his nose when an excited voice enters the clearing babbling about the smell of blood kills and how the pack will eat well tonight thanks to their best hunter.

The words die in the excited one’s voice as he enters the clearing and a sharp inhale is heard. The feral growling resumes as the stranger once pinning Felix to the tree releases him only to turn on the newest addition to the clearing and his face contorts into a snarl.

Another inhale is heard and the excited voice starts to speak but is cut off by a threading advance from the growling member. Even though the smaller alpha standing a few yards away is already mated to an omega in the pack, Changbin can’t stop the feral growls from coming up through his chest. The alpha raises his hands and ducks his head submissively as he takes small steps backward.

“Enough!” A clear voice rings out and everyone turns towards the owner of the voice. “Changbin, that is uncalled for. The rules of the pack clearly state no infighting for any reason.”

Changbin hears his pack alpha and shakes his head to clearly process the statement but his head is only filled with the intoxicating warm chocolate scent that is emanating from the once scentless stranger.

Feeling distressed Changbin instantly shifts into a wolf hearing a gasp from the chocolate-scented intruder. He nudges him to his knees and uses his muzzle to gently guide him to Chan’s feet. When Felix is standing in front of Chan, panic clear in his eyes as he gazes upon the alpha, Changbin bumps into him so he stumbles to the ground. Once on the ground, he feels a heavy paw resting on his back not allowing him to rise from his kneeling position.

Once satisfied that the stranger knows to stay in his position, Changbin whimpers and rolls over onto his back to the pack alpha. The alpha stares at his fellow alpha wolf almost baffled at the behavior. He leans his head down to smell the stranger and his eyes grow wide in shock. Why he smells is a warm melted chocolate scent that has him hard in his pants. Underneath the scent is “ First heat.” Chan utters out loud.

The once loud newcomer in the field gasps and says, “ That is not possible. His age he should have been through three heats already.” Felix stiffens in his knelt position. Thinking there’s no way these strangers are correct. He has never presented and never will given his age. The forest is just hot making him sweat and the trek made him ache all over.

At the words, the wolf laying on his back next to him flips over again snarling. The action releases an exasperated sigh from the man Felix is currently kneeling in front of.  “ Changbin that’s enough. One more threat towards your packmate will leave you on guard duty for a full moon.” The words are twinged with alpha voice. It doesn’t work on other alphas but the wolf next to Felix must respect him as he’s whimpering and rolling on his back again submissively.

Felix himself shudders feeling something he doesn’t understand at the tone of voice. He hears the man sigh. “Ok, the pack can always use another omega. He will come with us.”  The wolf next to him flips over and hips happily nuzzling the kneeling form next to him. “Changbin I’m serious though. This is his first heat. You may NOT touch him. No one else will either.”

Changbin’s ears twitch toward the back of his head but he nods and nuzzles the pack alphas hand. Chan allows the submissive action and pets the wolf’s ears. He turns over to the other alpha in the clearing. “ Jisung looks like we have a new member. Let’s go inform the rest of the pack.”
