Vanilla Lattes and Pumpkin Cakes

Summary:

Purple, a young Omega, has found himself falling head over heels for another Omega. How was he to go about this, those kind of things were frowned upon; an Omega is meant to be with an Alpha, not with another of the same secondary gender! Not to mention, he was to wipe out the ship he stood his feet on. His fellow imposter tells him to keep his head in the game, while his mind stays fixated on the loveable crewmate who'd helped him out that night. What was he to do?

Notes:

This is my first fanfic I've written since like, five years ago. I hope it's alright ;3

Chapter 1: Orange, my beloved

Chapter Text

Her stomach tightened. Vanilla cakes and chocolate cookies scented the air, blankets formed a nest in the middle of the communications floor; there was nothing else this could have been. Purple wasn't dead; he wasn't injured and missing at all! Why hadn't any of us taken this into consideration?

The smaller, sorrowful figure lay shaking and whimpering in his nest. It must have been so uncomfortable, sitting on the commons floor like this; there were books making up most of the nest walls. There was a visible slimy substance on the floor, visibly soaking through the suit Purple was in. The slick coated between the Omega's legs, soaking the material of the suit inside and out. There was no way the purple astronaut actually found any comfort in this!

Why hadn't Purple gone to the Omega-quarters? Was he scared of any of the other crewmates finding out about his secondary gender? It made sense, though. Orange was an Omega herself; the orange innocent could understand why Purple wanted to hide this secret. After all -- they were the only Omegas aboard the dropship. There were six Alphas and three Betas, most of which were unmated.

These thoughts didn't matter though! What really mattered was making sure her ally was safe and comfortable during his heat, especially with the threat of the imposters running around the large crew ship. Taking a careful step forward, Orange knelt down beside the nest Purple had created. She gave a sympathetic look; Purple was whimpering, shaking! What would have happened if an Alpha had found this vulnerable Omega?

"Purple," Orange's voice was soft, her natural scent of pumpkin latte and custards wafting weakly through the air with the scent from the other Omega's heat. "I' am going to take you out of here, but you have to work with me here!" Her voice was gentle, the hand of the worried Omega resting on her counterpart. Purple let out a groan of protest, tears welling up in his eyes.

-----The door clicked shut, Orange stepping back to comfort her male counterpart. Purple had quickly took to making a nest, clearly favoring the more pillowed out blankets in the nesting area. He didn't seem to mind the slick coating his suit, laying immediately with the dirtied space suit still on. The Omega-Quarters ended up being way closer than the crewmate initially thought, which was very convenient for them!

The innocent couldn't help but feel sorry for her purple ally. Imagine going into heat in the middle of space, surrounded by Alphas you didn't even know! Not to mention, there was also the threat of the imposters lurking around the crewship; knowing this did little to calm the worried Orange.

Orange was forced into repose, hearing Purple's whines increase in volume. Just as she was about to leave the nesting grounds, the other Omega let out a small word. His voice was weak, the crewmate in purple was clinging to the nest floor; the word he uttered out, frantic and hopeful. "St-stay.."

How could she say no to that? How could Orange say no when her comrade was shivering, whimpering, wordlessly begging for her to stay in his presence? Besides, an Omega alone in heat under these circumstances just couldn't be safe. No, not with the threat of the imposters still lingering in the air!

Her tasks, the threat of murder, suspicions on her; if anything, helping Purple through this monstrous heat would prove to be a big inconvenience. Though, Orange didn't mind. The astronaut just wanted him to feel comfortable! The other Omega could imagine being in purple's condition. Maybe she was inconveniencing herself for this person, simply because it's something she empathized with, something she related to; something she'd have to go through later regardless. She was still young, she had many heats ahead of her!

The scent of baked chocolate-filled dough and vanilla pastries filled the room, though it wasn't as strong as it was in communications. The dim, yellow lighting of the room gave a warm, welcome atmosphere; almost as if welcoming the Omegas residing inside. It was nice; it was peaceful there.

I guess that's sort of the point of Omega-quarters. Orange took a step closer to her ally, sitting in front of the nest. To keep us feeling safe, feeling comfortable during our heat. The pumpkin scented Omega glanced down at Purple, smiling underneath her helmet. She knew he wouldn't be able to see it, but that was fine. Orange was going to be there for him, keeping him safe and helping through this painful heat!

-----At least, that's what Orange thought. Of course it wouldn't be as easy as she was expecting! How naive of the innocent. A noise sounded throughout the ship,, the lights flashing red. Orange's eyes widened, Purple clutched his head; Oh, oh no.
