Summary:

UPDATED!!

This is the 4th installment of my OC character series. I thank everyone who has stayed with me this long. This will be based during Goblet of Fire. And there will be spoilers to it.

4th year has started. Ariana Dumbledore has to not only deal with her raging hormones, but her "break up" with the Potions Master causes her to find love with someone else. That leads to constant fighting between her and Snape. And to top it all of something happens that shatters her world completely. Can her and Snape repair the damage that has been done or will their love for each other cease to exist?

Disclaimer: I do have another fic written up and done. It will be based after this one, but before the events of The Order of the Phoenix.

Notes:

This Chapter is based after the Quidditch World Cup. Basically when they got back to the Weasleys. There will also be scenes of them setting up the Great Hall with the Ministry before school starts.

Chapter 1: Chapter One

Chapter Text

Chapter 1

Back at the Weasley’s Ariana sat on the couch with Leo the Lion. “Thank you Molly.” She said as Molly Weasley handed her a cup of tea.

Molly gave her a soft smile. “You’re welcome, dear.”

“I can’t believe that happened.” Hermione said.

“I am just glad we were able to get out safely. Others weren’t so lucky.” Ariana said, sadly as she placed the cup of tea on the coffee table.

"Oh Merlin! Ariana!” McGonagall said, relieved.

“Mum!” Ariana exclaimed, running into her mother’s arms.

McGonagall pulled Arianna back gently to check her over for any cuts or scrapes. Her face was a little dirty, but that was it. She then pulled her back to her, holding onto her tightly.

“I know I shouldn’t have let you go.” McGonagall said as tears fell down her cheeks.

“I wanted to go, mum. You can’t keep me locked up in the school forever.” Ariana said.

“I can sure try.” McGonagall said.

“Severus?” Arthur Weasley seemed confused to see the Potions Master.

Ariana turned to see Snape walk in. They locked eyes. She could see the relief in his eyes.

“Severus!” Ariana ran and jumped into Snape’s arms.

“I’m so glad you are alright.” Snape said.

“He came with me. Albus had an important meeting at the Ministry so he couldn’t come.” McGonagall explained.

“We probably need to head back. He’ll want to know she’s alright.” Snape said, still holding onto Ariana who was now crying into his shoulder.

“I guess you’re right, Severus.” McGonagall said.

“Her bag was destroyed. All she has is the stuffed Lion.” Molly said.

“Leo?” Snape asked, placing Ariana down on her feet.

Ariana showed him Leo the Lion. Leo was dirty from the soot from the fires being sent by the Death Eaters. His mane was covered in sticks from where she tumbled down the hill from when they used the portkey. Snape smiled as he used his wand to clean the stuffed Lion off. Leo looked brand new as the day she got him. Ariana smiled as she wrapped her arms around Snape again.

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome, my dear.”

“Her wand is at the school. We take it away till school starts so she won’t be compelled to do magic during the Summer.” McGonagall said. “And we can always replace what she brought with her.”

“Not another new school bag.” Snape groaned.

“Don’t worry, Severus. You won’t have to take her school shopping this year. Albus had her books and supplies ordered. He even had her uniform ordered." McGonagall said.

"Do you hate school shopping with me or something?" Ariana asked, teasingly as she followed Snape and McGonagall out.

Snape stayed silent. He apparated both McGonagall and Ariana just outside a couple of buildings in London. Muggles passing by ignored them. They weren't too far from the Ministry of Magic entrance.

"Ariana!" Dumbledore came running up to them. He had to hold up his robes so he wouldn't trip.

"Daddy!" Ariana's arms went around the Headmaster. Dumbledore held his daughter as tears fell down his cheeks.

McGonagall watched her husband with their daughter with tears in her eyes. They were so worried that they lost her. She was just glad their family was back together.

Ariana walked into the Great Hall a week later. She had her uniform on. Well, all except for her outer robe. Dumbledore had to order a new one for her since her chest size grew slightly from last year.

“Hello Ariana.” Fudge said when Ariana walked into the Great Hall.

“Hello Fudge.” Ariana said.

“Where’s the rest of your uniform?” Fudge asked.

“Minerva went to Diagon Alley to get it. We had to order a new one.” Dumbledore said.

Fudge looked at Ariana who shrugged. He shook his head.

Ariana noticed the other set of tables up where the teachers usually sit. She even noticed the extended charm on the tables where the houses sit.

“What’s going on, dad?” Ariana asked.

“Hogwarts has been chosen for the Triwizard Tournament, honey.” Dumbledore said, smiling.

Ariana’s eyes went wide as she smiled. She usually listened to the Tournament on the radio. Dumbledore smiled bigger at his daughter’s excited expression.

"By the way, Ariana, did you clean your room like I asked you to?" Snape asked. His onyx eyes narrowed.

Dumbledore looked at Potions Master and then at his daughter.

Ariana folded her arms across her chest. "It isn't that bad."

"Would you like to be grounded before school even starts?" Dumbledore asked, narrowing his blues at Ariana.

"No sir." Ariana said.

"Then do as Severus said and go clean your room. Now young lady." Dumbledore said.

"Yes sir." Ariana sighed. She then turned on her heels and walked out of the Great Hall.

"You know she gets this attitude from you, Severus." Dumbledore teased.

"It's not my fault she's usually around the Slytherins and I." Snape said.

"I remember you telling me that Snape was the only one who could get Ariana to sleep when she was a baby." Fudge said.

Dumbledore turned to Fudge. "She would only go to Minerva when she was hungry, because I struggled to make her bottles. Even with magic. And when we couldn't get her to sleep, Severus would have her."

"I remember the travel cot I used to keep in my classroom for her. I still have it in my office along with her blanket." Snape said.

"It's why we asked you to be her Godfather, Severus, you were the only besides me who she was comfortable being around." McGonagall said.

"Hello my sweet." Dumbledore said, pecking McGonagall on the lips.

"Hello my love." McGonagall said, pecking Dumbledore back. "Where's Ariana? I have some things I need to try on. I got two outer robes and some more sweaters. I also went ahead and grabbed her a new jumper too."

"How much did you spend?" Dumbledore asked, raising an eyebrow. Not like it mattered. They had more money then they could do with.

McGonagall's cheeks turned pink as she smiled. She enjoyed spoiling Ariana. She may have gotten more than she told her husband. "Not as much as I normally do."

Dumbledore sighed. "She was sent to clean her room, my sweet."

McGonagall rolled her eyes. "She never keeps her room clean."

"And that's why we stopped using magic to clean it. We want to teach her responsibility."

"I better head up there and make sure she is doing what she was asked to."

"Alright." Dumbledore placed a kiss on McGonagall's lips before she went on her way with the shopping bag in her hand. His wife definitely got more than she said she would.

Chapter 2

Ariana stood next to father when Filch came jogging in. Dumbledore had Ariana stand with him to greet the other schools since she was his daughter.

When the Beauxbatons Academy ladies did their entrance, Fleur delicately bowed to Ariana. Ariana did the same in return. She also bowed her head to the Headmistress who bowed her head back. And when the Durmstrang boys made their entrance, Ariana couldn’t help, but notice how handsome they were. Victor Krum took Ariana’s hand and kissed it. She couldn’t help the flush that started to form her cheeks. She narrowed her green eyes at Igor as he passed. She heard the stories about Igor being a Death Eater.

Ariana had to not only lead the school in singing the Hogwarts School Song. She also had to say a few words.

“As the Headmaster’s daughter, I welcome you to our school. You will be treated with the same respect you give us.” Ariana said.

“Thank you Ariana. You may go sit down now.” Dumbledore said, nodding his head to her.

“Yes Headmaster.” Ariana nodded her head back. She then took a seat in between Neville and Hermione.

“You hated every bit of that. Didn’t you?” Harry whispered.

“Oh yeah I did, Harry. Although that snog on the hand from Krum was nice.” Ariana smiled.

Hermione and Ginny chuckled quietly. Ariana smiled at the girls.

A teacher came by Ariana to tell her that Snape wanted to see her. It was either about her room or the way she kept staring Igor down.

"Hey, you wanted to see me?" She asked, crouching beside him.

"You're going to be in Potions with your peers. You barely passed last year with Exceeds Expectations. If the work seems too easy then let me know and I can see what I can do." Snape said.

"Yes sir." Ariana said.

"You're still teaching Potions?" Igor asked, smugly.

"Leave him alone, Igor." Ariana said, narrowing her green eyes.

Snape patted Ariana's hand. "It's alright, my dear. You may finish eating. And make sure to eat some protein and not just sweets."

"Yes sir." Ariana groaned as she straightened.

"She's very protective of him, Igor." Dumbledore said with a smile.

"She headbutted a Gryffindor right in the dick when she was three, because he spoke ill about me." Snape smirked.

Igor didn't say anything as his eyes went wide. Ariana was the type to be protective of the ones she loves. Especially her family. Snape was part of her family.

"It's Mad Eye Moody." Ron said as a creepy man with a limp walked in. He looked like he was walking in the storm outside.

"Alastor Moody?" Ariana asked. She looked to see Moody hug her father.

"He's supposed to be mad as hell these days." Ron explained to Harry.

"That's an understatement, Ron." Ariana said.

"What's that he's drinking you suppose?" Seamus asked.

"I don't know, but I don't think it's pumpkin juice." Harry said.

Just then the room erupted in boos and anger as Bartley Crouch explained that no student under the age of 17 could compete in the Tournament.

"SILENCE!" The power of Dumbledore's voice caused the Great Hall to quiet down.

That night Ariana stayed up a little later than usual, because she talked with Viktor and Fleur about Hogwarts. It was mostly about her living in the school. She did not mind though. She wanted to make them feel welcome. Ariana turned to walk up the stairs so she could ready for bed when Snape’s words stopped her dead in her tracks.

“Mister Malfoy it’s late, you’re supposed to be in the common room.”

Ariana turned. That was when green eyes met gray ones. “Draco?”

“Ariana.” Draco picked up Ariana when she hugged her. He spun around lightly.

“Draco what the hell?”

“You were there. At the Quidditch World Cup.” Draco said, placing Ariana down on her feet. He even took her hands in his.

“Yes. You were there too. You saw me.” Ariana said. “Draco what’s going on?”

“We didn’t stay though. You did.” Draco said, his voice sounded pained.

“Hey. Hey. I am alright.” Ariana stood on her tippy toes to wrap her arms around Draco’s neck. “Arthur kept us safe.”

“I know I should’ve asked Father to have you join us.” Draco said, quietly.

Ariana pulled back. “Do you really think Lucius will let me sit with you two?”

Draco chuckled. “He will if I ask him to.”

Ariana laughed.

“As you can see Mister Malfoy, Ariana is safe. Go ahead and head back to the Slytherin Dormitory.” Dumbledore said.

Draco’s expression changed to anger and hatred. There was even venom in his voice when he said, “Yes Professor Dumbledore.”

Ariana turned to look at her father. “Can I walk him back? Please dad.”

“Headmaster, it’s late I don’t think……” Snape trailed off when Dumbledore held up a hand.

“I still have some work to finish up so I will still be up. You head back here. You understand me?” Dumbledore said.

“Yes sir.” Ariana said, nodding her head.

Dumbledore nodded his head. Draco took Ariana by her hand and they left Dumbledore’s office. Ariana looked at Snape before the door shut.

“It’s such a beautiful night.” Ariana said as they walked across the quad to the dungeons.

Draco took Ariana’s hand, interlacing their fingers. “Yes it is.” He said, as he kissed her hand.

Ariana smiled. “You need to be careful, Draco. People will start to suspect something.”

“Is that so wrong?” Draco asked.

Ariana stayed silent for the rest of the walk to the Slytherin Dormitory. Her heart belonged to the Potions Master. However, they haven’t talked much over the Summer. She tried to snog him when they were alone earlier, but he pushed her away. She took it as him being busy. He’s a teacher so it made sense.

“Ariana, listen.” Draco pulled Ariana out of her thoughts. She held his hands as she looked up into his eyes. “I care a lot about you. And I know you feel the same way about me. I don’t want to force you into a relationship if you don’t want to. I am enjoying admiring you from afar.”

Ariana smiled. She then placed a kiss on Draco’s cheek. “Just give me time to figure some things out.” She said, looking into his eyes.

“Take as long as you need.” Draco said.

They hugged one last time before Draco said the password and entered the Common Room.

That night instead of dreaming about Snape like she normally did. Ariana dreamed about Draco.

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Summary:

Severus and Ariana fight which causes Dumbledore to step in.

Notes:

A lot is happening in this chapter so bare with me.

The beginning will be during the first class with Moody. Draco cares a lot for Ariana.

There will be a scene with Draco that will lead into the fight between Ariana and Severus.

I tried my best to not make the chapters too long, but I also didn't want to make them too short either. So I had to add a lot of different things together. I tried to tie everything together as best as I could.

Chapter 3

Ariana almost wet herself as Moody demonstrated the 3 Unforgivable Curses. She crossed her legs and raised her hand.

"Yes Miss Dumbledore?" Moody asked.

"May I be excused to go to the lavatory, sir?" Ariana asked.

"Did you not go before class started?" Moody asked, his voice angered.

"Sir?" Ariana's voice squeaked.

"Did you not use the bathroom before class?" Moody repeated.

Ariana sank in her chair. She couldn't look him in the eye. "Yes sir." she said, quietly.

"You can wait till after class." Moody said. He then went to the front of the classroom to finish teaching.

When Moody's back was turned, Draco passed Ariana a note. She quietly opened it and read it.

Are you okay, babygirl?

Ariana turned to look at Draco. She shook her head. Tears began to form in the back of her eyes. She really needed to use the lavatory.

After class, Ariana went to the lavatory. She used it and washed her hands. Then she splashed some cold water on her face to calm her breathing. When she walked out, Draco pulled her into a hug. The delicate scent of his cologne filled her nostrils. It was the same one that Snape used.

"Shh….It's okay, babygirl. I have you." Draco said, stroking Ariana's black hair.

"Babygirl?" Ariana asked, looking up at Draco.

Draco shrugged. "Is that okay?

"Sure, but only you can call me that." Ariana said, hiding her face in Draco's chest.

Draco couldn't himself. He placed a kiss on Ariana's head.

While it poured rain outside, Ariana sat in the Entrance Hall with the other students. Her and Hermione were going over their Potions Homework. Snape was the only teacher that gave Homework on the first day of school. They were uninterested in the students who were putting their names in the Goblet. They came, because Harry and Ron were here. Fred and George came running in with their age potion. Ariana just rolled her eyes.

"It's not going to work." Hermione said.

"Oh yeah?" Fred said.

"Why's that Granger?" George said.

"This is an age line. My father drew it himself. He could have possibly not thought of something as dimwitted as an aging Potion." Ariana explained.

However, the Weasley twins did not listen. They drank the aging potion and placed their names into the Goblet. Just then the whole place went blue and the twins were thrown back. They had nice white beards.

"You two should have listened to my daughter. She knows what she's saying." Dumbledore said.

"Yes sir." Fred and George said in unison.

"Now I suggest you two head to the Hospital. Madam Pomfrey is already on alert with the antidote. You two are not the only ones who tried an aging potion.” Dumbledore said.

Fred and George then headed to the Hospital. Dumbledore smiled and waved at Ariana who smiled and waved back before he went on his way.

Viktor Krum was the next one to put his name in the Goblet. He gave Hermione a look as he did though.

"He likes you." Ariana whispered to Hermione as Viktor walked out of the Entrance Hall.

"Who?" Hermione whispered back.

"Viktor Krum."

There was no warning. Hermione yanked Ariana out of the Entrance Hall and into the corridor.

"What did he say?" Hermione asked.

"He just wanted to know who you were. I just told him that you were my best friend. And that you and I love to study together." Ariana said.

"He is rather easy on the eyes." Hermione said.

"Most of the Durmstrang boys are." Ariana said, locking eyes with a Durmstrang boy.

"There you are, babygirl." Draco said, wrapping an arm across Ariana's shoulder.

"What is it, Draco?" Ariana asked, a little annoyed.

"I was just wondering if you could get me Viktor Krum's autograph." Draco said.

"Ariana may be the Headmaster's daughter, but that doesn't mean she will do favors." Hermione said.

Draco kept his focus on Ariana. "No one asked your opinion, you filthy mudblood."

Ariana pushed Draco away from her. "Do not use that language around me you Cockroach!" She then took Hermione by the wrist. "Come on Hermione."

"Ariana!" Draco called to her. She just ignored him as she led Hermione to the common room.

Ariana walked into the Teachers' corridor. This was where the Teachers rooms and lavatories were. Some of the people from the Ministry were staying here too. Usually students weren't allowed here, but Ariana was okay to be here. After the incident with Draco, she needed to see a certain Professor.

“Hello Ariana!” Professor Flitwick smiled.

“Hello uncle Filius.” Ariana smiled back.

"You’re allowed down here?” Bartley Crouch asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Remember her little feet puttering through the corridor, Filius.” Charity Burbage said.

Ariana’s cheeks went a lovely shade of pink.

“Or when she used to skip through the corridors as she got older.” Flitwick beamed.

“Ariana.”

Snape walked up. He wore black trousers and a black shirt with a couple of buttons undone. Ariana tried not to swoon at the Potions Master stare.

“You only come down here when there’s an issue with a Slytherin. A certain Slytherin I may presume.”

“Yes sir.” Ariana said.

Snape closed the door behind him, but did not lock it like he normally did. “What happened?”

“He keeps asking me to get him Krum’s autograph.” Ariana said.

“Is that all?” Snape asked, raising an eyebrow.

Ariana shook her head as tears formed behind her eyes. Snape grabbed onto Ariana’s chin so she could look at him. The look in her eyes meant Draco caused harm to one of her friends.

“I can’t fix it if you don’t tell me what happened.” Snape said.

“He called Hermione a mudblood .” Ariana said.

Snape raised an eyebrow again. His girl was upset because her best friend was called a foul name. She’s just too damned sensitive.

“Miss Granger can be insufferable at times so it doesn’t surprise me.” Snape said. He tried to lean in to kiss Ariana, but she pushed him back lightly.

“You Troll!” Ariana exclaimed.

“You need to stop being so damned sensitive about these things, Ariana.” Snape blurted before he could stop himself.

“What the hell, Severus!? You know how much my friends mean to me! They are practically my family!”

“I can’t give detention to every Slytherin that calls your friends mudblood!”

“I’m not asking you to! I came to you because I was upset. You know how to make me feel better.

Snape sighed as he sat down at the edge of his bed.

“We really need to work on your emotions, my dear.” Snape took Ariana by the hand. He tried to pull her to stand in between his legs.

Ariana yanked her hand away. Snape had never acted like this before. He usually would hold her when she cried.

“I am trying to give you what you want, Ariana.” Snape said.

“I don’t want you to if you are going to act like this!” Ariana said before she stormed out. Snape tried to call after her, but she ignored him.

“Hello Ariana.” Dumbledore said with a smile.

“Hi.” Ariana said, not looking at her father.

“Are you…..” Dumbledore didn’t get a chance to finish.

“I’m fine!” Ariana yelled as she bolted up the stairs to her bedroom.

Dumbledore got up from his desk and headed up the stairs. Something was wrong with his daughter. The parenting books he constantly read told him that it was best to give her the space she needs, but the Headmaster in him caused him to see what was going on.

“Ariana?” Dumbledore said, knocking on Ariana’s door. It was shut. It wouldn't surprise him either if she locked it.

I’m fine! ” Ariana yelled.

“No you’re not. What happened?”

Draco is just as insufferable as Severus is !”

“If you let me come in, we can talk about it, honey.” Dumbledore said. Usually boy talk was for his wife, but Snape was involved so this needed the Headmaster’s expertise.

Dumbledore heard a click. She definitely locked the door. Ariana stood there in the doorway with tears streaming down her cheeks clutching her stuffed Lion. The tiny amount of makeup she put on that morning was smeared. Dumbledore held open his arms. Ariana walked into her father’s embrace.

“It’s alright, honey. Daddy’s here.” Dumbledore said.

“Draco called Hermione a mudblood and Severus agreed with him.” Ariana said, holding her father tightly. Not tight enough to hurt him though.

“Their Slytherins, Ariana. They aren’t too keen on muggle-borns or half-bloods.” Dumbledore said.

Ariana pulled back to look into her father’s blue eyes with blurred vision. “Severus is half-blood though. He should know how I feel.”

Dumbledore took Ariana by the hand and led her to the bathroom where he grabbed a box of tissues from the cabinet. It looked like he needed to order some more. Raising a teenage girl will require several boxes. At least that was what the parenting books told him.

Ariana muttered her thanks as she took the tissue from him. She wiped her eyes with it and blew her nose. Dumbledore took a seat on the toilet while Ariana sat on the edge of the bathtub with the box of tissues beside her. She had Leo in her lap.

“Why are boys so difficult?” Ariana groaned, clutching a tissue in her hand.

“I don’t know, honey. We just think differently than you do.” Dumbledore said, smiling a little.

“I just wish Severus would stop being so insufferable!” Ariana exclaimed. “He should know that I am a hormonal teenager.”

"I think it's time you two should spend some time apart.” Dumbledore said.

Ariana lifted her head to look at her father. Dumbledore just spoke softly, “You and Severus spend a lot of time together. Maybe it’s time you hang out with the other Gryffindors or maybe someone from the other houses. Not so much the Slytherins.”

“I love him though.” Ariana blurted before she could stop herself. Dumbledore didn't seem to mind though. Snape was her Godfather.

“I know you do, honey. Some time apart may do the two of you good.”

“Separation does make the heart grow fonder, Ariana.” McGonagall said, leaning against the doorway.

“Hello my sweet.” Dumbledore smiling up at McGonagall.

“Hello my love. Charity told me Ariana ran past her in the teacher’s corridor crying. I've been trying to get my lesson plans done for Monday. I know I shouldn't have procrastinated." McGonagall said, rubbing her forehead.

“It’s alright, mum. Dad helped me.” Ariana said, using the tissue to wipe her face.

“See, those parenting books aren’t just hogwash.” Dumbledore said.

McGonagall just rolled her eyes. “You still got a lot to understand about teenage girls, Albus.”

“You were a teenager once too, Minerva.”

“Every teenager is different though.”

Ariana just rolled her eyes. She then got up to wash her face to clean the remnants of smeared makeup still left. Just then a voice called to them from the office.

“Is anyone up there!?” Igor Karkaroff yelled.

Dumbledore got up and headed down to his office. McGonagall stayed back to make sure Ariana was okay. Dumbledore came back with Igor and Durmstrang boy close in tow.

The boy was gorgeous! His dark hair was cut short just like the other Durmstrang boys had, but his eyes were a beautiful shade of brown. “He’s cute.” McGonagall whispered in Ariana’s ear.

“Yes he is.” Ariana whispered back, smiling.

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Summary:

Ariana has had enough of Severus's teasing. She tries to find love with someone else. It causes a BIG fight and break up between Ariana and Snape.

Notes:

If you read my last story. This won't be like that break up. This may cause triggers so I apologize now. I am not going to lie. I cried while I wrote this chapter. I had to stop writing for a bit to give my emotions some time.

With that said, there will be a moment of a teacher/student relationship in the corridor. It will be the cause of why the OC find love with someone else.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter 4

Ariana came down the stairs clutching Leo tightly. She heard her parents argue about Harry being in the Triwizard Tournament.

“Are you alright, dear?” McGonagall asked, lightly touching Ariana’s black hair.

“I can’t sleep, mum.” Ariana said. “I know I am supposed to be brave, but I am scared.”

“You had the courage to tell me that you were scared, Ariana. That doesn’t make you less brave.” McGonagall explained.

“The brave man is the one that does not feel afraid, but conquers that fear.” Dumbledore said.

“I am scared about what could happen to Harry. He’s my friend. I don’t want to see him hurt.” Ariana said as tears began to fall down her cheeks.

“We all are, Ariana. Including me.” Snape said.

“I will make sure he stays safe, Ariana.” Moody said.

“Thank you Professor.” Ariana said, nodding to Moody.

“Now, head off to bed.” Dumbledore said.

“Can Severus tuck me in, daddy?” Ariana asked.

Snape seemed a little startled by this. The last time he and Ariana were alone. They fought.

“Severus, do you mind?” Dumbledore asked.

“No Headmaster, I do not.” Snape said he then took Ariana by the hand and led her up to bed.

Ariana tried to get a goodnight kiss from Snape, but he pulled away from her. “Not tonight, Ariana. It’s late.”

Please Severus.” Ariana pleaded. She even gave him a pouty face.

Snape just stood. “Bed.” He said. He then walked out of her room, closing the door behind him.

The day in Potions Class Ariana tried to focus on the potion in front of her, but a certain Potions Master was not making it easy. His fingers lightly touched her lower back as he passed. It caused her to add more Newt Spleens than needed.

He then gave her a smile from the other side of the room when she looked up for an instant. She closed her eyes and sighed. She needed to focus on this potion. Just then Igor came into the classroom. He rolled up his sleeve to show Snape something on his forearm.

“We need to talk about this.” Igor whispered.

“Get out of my classroom Igor.” Snape said, his dark eyes hardened.

“You do not fool me, Severus. You are just afraid.” Igor said out loud, rolling his sleeve back down.

“Why don’t you leave him alone, Igor?” Ariana asked with venom in her voice.

“This does not concern you, Miss Dumbledore.” Snape said.

“You better listen to him.” Igor said, smiling menacingly.

“You evil Cockroach!” Ariana exclaimed, taking a couple steps closer to Igor. “You are the one who is scared. Not Severus!”

“Ariana.” Snape warned, taking a step forward.

“You have no right to talk to me like that, child.” Igor said, stepping closer to Ariana.

“And you have no right to come in here acting like you know what’s best for him!” Ariana shouted back.

“Ariana Minerva Dumbledore! You will wait for me in the corridor. NOW!” Snape said, pointing to the door.

Ariana groaned as she walked out into the corridor. She leaned against the stone as she waited for Snape. Igor walked out of the classroom a few moments later. He laughed as he walked away. Snape came out sometime later.

“I was able to stop him from telling your father about your outburst. However, you need to not get so hostile around Igor, my dear.” Snape said, placing a hand on the stone above Ariana.

Ariana looked down. Tears were starting to form in her eyes. Being a hormonal teenager sucked! “He thinks you’re still a Death Eater, my love. You gave up that life, because of Lilly.”

Snape took Ariana's chin in his hand so she could look at him. One day he will tell her the truth but not right now. He placed a kiss on her forehead. Ariana kept her eyes focused on Snape’s as she grabbed his hand. She then placed a kiss on his wrist. Snape licked his lips. They were in the corridor so they could get caught if someone were to walk by.

“You want more .” Ariana said.

Her warm breath against Snape’s wrist made him shudder. Not trusting his voice, he nodded his head. Ariana kissed his wrist again. This time her tongue moved lightly across it. Snape couldn’t hold back the moan that escaped his lips.

Ariana .”

“You want me?” She asked quietly.

Yessssss .” Snape hissed as Ariana licked his wrist again.

With Snape’s eyes closed Ariana used this advantage to move her free hand to his side. Her fingers then slowly moved down. Snape hummed quietly. These touches seemed insignificant to some, however, to him they were everything . He didn’t want her to stop. He wanted her touches to go lower and lower till…..

Snape snapped his eyes open as he grabbed onto her hand. He lifted it above her head. “You are NOT to touch me there. Do you understand?”

“Severus please!” Ariana pleaded a little too loudly.

“No Ariana!” Snape let go of her. He took a minute to situate himself before he headed back into the classroom.

Ariana groaned. Her hormones were raging. She so desperately wanted him! He wouldn’t though. He wanted her to wait till she was 17.

She took several deep breaths and then she headed into the classroom. She failed in making the potion because it simmered for too long. She had to attempt to make the potion again tonight in detention. Lovely.

After classes, Ariana went to the library to study. She had two tests tomorrow. One in Transfigurations, the other in Herbology. They were just to go over the section they just learned. Hermione walked in with Krum and a boy that Ariana recognized. It was the same boy that came to her father’s office the other day. His name was Dimitri.

“Hello again.” Ariana said, smiling.

“Hello Ariana.” Dimitri said.

“Are you and Professor Snape okay? You two seemed pretty upset after he talked to you in the corridor during class.” Hermione said, pulling out her school books.

“We’ve been fighting since the start of term. I’ve been trying to talk to him about it, but he keeps pushing me away." Ariana said, sighing.

"I'm sorry." Hermione said.

Just then Draco passed them in the library.

"Oh Draco, I have something for you." Ariana said.

"Oh?" Draco walked up to the group. He watched Ariana closely as she reached into her bag and pulled out a gift for him. It was Krum's autograph.

"Thank you so much Ariana!" Draco said, picking up Ariana and swinging her around.

"That's not the place for that, Mister Malfoy!" Madam Pince exclaimed.

Draco sighed and rolled his eyes. "He understands ma'am. I apologize as well." Ariana said.

Madam Pince nodded her head. She went back to her work.

Draco leaned down. "Thank you babygirl." He whispered before placing a kiss on Ariana's cheek.

"What's going on between you two?" Hermione asked, a little annoyed.

"Nothing. We're just friends." Ariana said.

"That didn't look like friendship to me." Hermione said, narrowing her eyes.

"Alright. Draco told me he had feelings for me. I may like him back, but we aren't dating. My parents and Snape wouldn't allow it."

"So no boyfriend?" Dimitri asked.

Ariana smiled and shook her head. "No, I have no boyfriend. I am the Headmaster's daughter. Who would want to be with me?"

Krum and Dimitri began talking in their native tongue. Ariana looked at Hermione who just shrugged.

Ariana doesn’t know how she found herself in this position. Dimitri offered to walk her detention with Snape, but she was up against the brick outside the Library. He captured her mouth with his. And she would be lying if she didn’t say that she enjoyed this.

Snape was glad that classes were over for the day. He still had papers to grade. He just wanted to see his girl before then. They really need to talk about their relationship. She was 14 now so she noticed boys more. And she wanted an actual relationship with snogging and dates. He allowed himself to snog her. Their dates were even quite nice. He even had an idea for the next one.

Snape rolled his eyes when he saw a Gryffindor snogging a Durmstrang boy outside the library. He was ready to stop them. He paused though. There was something different about this Gryffindor though.

“Ariana.” Snape said a little too loudly.

Dimitri pulled away from Ariana. They turned to see Snape frozen in place. If he was hurt he was hiding it by his confused look.

“Severus.” Ariana said.

"What the hell, Ariana?" Snape asked.

After he caught her with a Durmstrang boy, Snape took her back to his classroom. She had detention with him anyway. He made sure to shut and lock the door. He even placed a silencing charm on the room so they could talk without someone hearing.

“Nothing’s going on Severus. You need to stop being so jealous.” Ariana said, preparing the things she needed to make the Potion.

Snape leaned against his desk. "I caught you snogging a Durmstrang boy outside the library. How can you tell me nothing's going on?"

Ariana just ignored him as she began making the Potion. Snape was getting annoyed with how relaxed Ariana seemed about the whole thing.

"I am 14 years old, Sev. I have certain needs." Ariana said, adding the right amount of Newt Spleens this time.

"I told you, if there were certain things you wanted, all you had to do was tell me, my dear." Snape said.

He came over to check on her work. She was always talented at Potions. This made him quite proud to see her following in his footsteps. Maybe she'll expand her knowledge and go to a Wizarding College. He'd needed to talk to her about it. However, they needed to talk about their relationship.

"This isn't about sex." Ariana said, defensively.

"Isn't it?" Snape asked, standing in front of the 4th year. "You've been wanting intimacy since we started this whole thing!"

Ariana glared at the Potions Master. "I want a boyfriend! And eventually a husband. Maybe a kid or two!"

"You know why I can't do that! I could get sent to Azkaban. Is that what you want?"

Ariana stayed silent as she looked away.

"I asked you a question, Miss Dumbledore." Snape said, folding his arms across his chest.

"No I don't." Ariana said, quietly.

Snape sighed. Ariana's being insufferable! Usually she was satisfied with how things were between them. However, she was a teenager now. A hormonal teenager at that. She had certain needs that he could not give her.

"Look, if it's a boyfriend you want. Maybe it's time we end it." Snape blurted before he could stop himself.

The look she gave him made his heart shatter. She looked like she could cry any minute. This was the last thing he wanted, but they couldn't be boyfriend and girlfriend like they wanted. A teacher-student relationship was not permitted. In both worlds. Plus with him being her Godfather it caused a whole nother poison to the mix. The antidote was to end what they had.

Snape turned his back to her. He couldn't look at her much longer. Tears began to roll down her cheeks as she finished making the Potion. He waited till he heard her say she was done before he turned to face her. Snape handed her a box of tissues as he checked her Potion. It was perfect.

"Next time, focus on your work instead of what's going on around you, Miss Dumbledore." Snape said with no emotion.

"Yes sir." Ariana said quietly as she sniffled.

Snape pressed his lips together as he looked away from her. He wanted to take his words back. He wanted to wipe the tears from her eyes with his kisses. He resisted the urge. Instead he said, "You may go now."

Ariana hesitated from leaving. She just stared at the man before her. Dressed in all black. His usual attire. What was she waiting on though?

"I told you to go." Snape said.

Ariana threw the tissue box to the side along with the necklace he gave her when she turned 10. She then grabbed her bag and textbook. The slamming of his classroom door made him jump.

He needed to find her. He needed to punish her for slamming the classroom door. Instead, after he released the silence spell, he went straight to his office where he broke down. He clenched the necklace in his hand so hard that he could feel the wetness pool in his hand.

Notes:

I do apologize once again for tugging on your heart strings. And I apologize for the triggers if it caused any. I know it did with me. This is why I write. It helps me let go of my past.

Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Summary:

It's time to start preparing for the Yule Ball. McGonagall teaches her students how to dance.

Notes:

The Celtic song I chose was Tír na nÓg. I know the Celtic Women version came out in 2015. Like I said, this story is AU so I felt the song may have been out longer.

And I know I can't be the only one who can see Snape dancing Tango. Or want to see him dancing Tango.

Chapter 5

Ariana was in the Great Hall with the trio. Harry seemed a little worse for wear. Thank Merlin he was okay though.

"Oh mum sent me something." Ron said excitedly. He quickly opened the package.

He seemed embarrassed and confused at the same time.

"Mum sent me a dress." Ron said, holding the item up.

"Well it does match your eyes." Harry teased.

"Is there a bonnet as well?" Ariana teased, looking through the package.

"Shove off you two!"

Ron thought they were for Ginny. However they weren't though. They were for him.

"They're dress robes!" Hermione and Ariana said in unison laughing with the rest of the Gryffindors.

Ariana leaned against the table that held the giant music player. Filch was trying to get the damned thing to work. Mrs. Norris kept rubbing her head against Ariana's arm to get her to scratch her. Besides Filch, Mrs. Norris usually went to Ariana or McGonagall for scratches, because she was used to them. There were times Mrs. Norris was found at the foot of Ariana's bed.

Snape was there too. He stood next to Ariana. Sometime after the first task, Ariana and Snape talked over what happened. They decided to end whatever they were. For now. That didn't mean he would stop being her Godfather or they would stop being friends. They were still as close as ever.

"Any idea why I am here?" Snape whispered.

Ariana shook her head as she scratched Mrs. Norris.

"The Yule Ball has been a tradition for the Triwizard Tournament. It's an opportunity for us to socialize with our foriegn guests. And to put our best foot forward. And I mean this literally when I say it….." McGonagall trailed off as she looked at each one of her Gryffindors.

"Are you saying the Yule Ball is a dance, Professor?" Ariana asked.

McGonagall turned to her daughter. "That is exactly what I am saying, Ariana."

The boys weren't up for it. However, the girls were excited. Including Ariana. She looked at Snape with a smile. Her excitement caused Snape to smile a little.

"So that is why I am here." Snape said, rolling his eyes.

"Yes Severus. You and Ariana both know how to dance already. So I thought a demonstration would be in order."

"You dance Professor Snape?" A Gryffindor asked, curiously.

Ariana tried her best to keep her temper at bay. She still had this jealous protectiveness over the Potions Master.

"I can dance the Tango." Snape said, nodding his head.

"You mean we can dance the Tango, Sev." Ariana said, smirking.

"Why don't the two of you show us?" McGonagall asked.

Ariana and Snape looked at one another. As Filch got the music going, Snape took Ariana's hand. Their dance was awe-inspiring. Usually they had some erotic to it. This time they chose to keep it slow. They kept their eyes on each other versus their feet. It felt like they were falling in love all over again.

When the music ended the whole of Gryffindor House cheered. McGonagall was even pleased.

"Now you won't be doing anything like that at the Yule Ball. I will now show you what you will be doing. Mr. Weasley, will you join me?" McGonagall said.

"What?" Ron asked, shocked.

Ariana hid her chuckling in Snape's arm as she held his hand. Snape even controlled the urge to laugh.

“Place your hands on my waist.” McGonagall said with no issues.

“Where?” Ron asked, stunned.

“My waist.” McGonagall said, narrowing her green eyes.

“It should look like this, Mister Weasley.” Snape said, his hand was on Ariana’s waist while he held her other hand.

“Exactly.” McGonagall nodded her head. “Thank you for the demonstration, Severus.”

Snape nodded his head back. "You are welcome, Minerva."

Whistling could be heard on the boys side as the girls kept giggling at McGonagall teaching the poor Weasley boy to dance with her. Ariana felt relaxed with Snape. It was short lived when Dumbledore walked in. He stepped in for Snape, spinning Ariana lightly.

“Teaching the Gryffindors to dance, I see, Minnie.” Dumbledore said.

Snape took over for Ron. McGonagall had Ron dance with Hermione.

“I’m trying to, Albus.” McGonagall said as Snape let her take the lead.

“I’m glad I already know how to dance.” Ariana said, smiling.

“That’s because we taught you. There’s a lot of free time during the Summer here.” McGonagall said.

Snape and Dumbledore switched partners. Snape had Arianna while Dumbledore had McGonagall. Ariana and McGonagall began singing a Celtic song that played through the speakers. When the sounds of drums intensified, Snape and Arianna danced Tango. The Gryffindors watched with smiles at the four dancing before them.

“Well now if you excuse me, I must gather my Slytherins to prepare them.” Snape turned to Ariana, he took her hand and placed a kiss on it. “Thank you for this dance, my dear.”

Ariana curtsied as she smiled. “You are welcome, sir.”

Snape nodded his head before he turned on his heels and left.

“You know, you won’t be able to go with him to the ball, right?” Dumbledore said.

“Yes I understand, dad. We are actually following your advice and spending time apart.” Ariana said sadly. Her neck felt bare without the promise necklace.

“I am sorry, dear.” McGonagall placed a hand on Ariana’s shoulder. “If I knew that I wouldn’t have asked him to dance with you.”

Ariana shrugged. “It’s alright, mum. We are still friends.”

“Good. I am glad to hear that.” Dumbledore turned his attention to the Scottish witch in front of him. He placed a hand on McGonagall’s cheek.

McGonagall’s green eyes met the blue ones of her husband’s. “I have a question to ask you, my sweet Minerva McGonagall-Dumbledore.”

“Oh? And what question is that, my love?” McGonagall asked.

Dumbledore moved back a bit to bow. He conjured up a single red rose. “Would you like to go to the ball with me?”’

McGonagall smiled and rolled her eyes. Not only did he call her by her full name, he asked her to ball. Although she was going with him even if he didn’t ask her. She took the rose from his hand.

“Yes, I would love to go to the ball with you, my love.” McGonagall said.

Dumbledore smiled as he kissed his wife. Cheers could be heard by the Gryffindors. Ariana smiled at Filch who rolled his eyes in annoyance.

“Let this be a lesson to you boys. You will be the one to ask your date to the ball.” Dumbledore said, looking at each one of the boys.

The boys groaned. McGonagall silenced them by saying, “The house of Godric Gryffindor has commended the respect of the Wizarding World for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you smudging that respect by acting like a bumbling babbling band of baboons.”

“Yes Professor.” The students said in unison.

A week or so later, Ariana walked into McGonagall’s classroom. She was busy with grading the section exam they had yesterday.

“Mummy.” Ariana whined, walking up to McGonagall’s desk. Pepper, McGonagall’s hornbill pecked at Ariana’s strings on her jumper. It was like he could tell they were uneven.

McGonagall groaned. She gently petted the bird as Ariana held up the uneven strings on her jumper. “Let me guess, your father did the washing.”

“He messed up my strings.” Ariana groaned.

McGonagall cleared off her desk to make room for Ariana’s jumper. She had Ariana take it off so she could fix the strings. The perks of having long nails made it easy for her to feed the strings through to make them even.

“Are you tattling on me now?” Dumbledore teased as he walked into McGonagall’s classroom.

“You messed up my strings!” Ariana said, annoyed.

“I told you I could fix it.” Dumbledore said.

“Enough! Both of you.” McGonagall said, narrowing her green eyes at her husband and daughter.

“Sorry.” Dumbledore and Ariana said in unison.

“There.” McGonagall handed Ariana her jumper back. Ariana put it on.

“Thank you mum.” Ariana said, hugging her mother. She even placed a kiss on her cheek.

“Come on Ariana.” Hermione said, handing Ariana her Muggle Studies textbook.

“Doing some studying I see?” McGonagall seemed proud of her students for spending their Saturday studying.

“We had a couple questions to ask Professor Burbage.” Hermione said.

“I think Charity is in her classroom preparing for Monday's exam.” Dumbledore said.

Ariana turned to Hermione. “That’s right. We still have to compare and contrast Muggle electricity versus a Magical Environment.”

“Maybe we could find some things in the library.” Hermione said as her and Ariana walked out of the classroom.

“No one’s asked Ariana to the ball yet.” McGonagall confessed to her husband once they were alone.

“Give it time, my sweet. The ball is still several weeks away.” Dumbledore reassured his wife.

“That isn’t what I am worried about, Albus.” McGonagall said, sitting back down in her chair.

“You’re worried that no one will ask her, because she’s our daughter.” Dumbledore said.

McGonagall nodded her head. “I hear her conversing with the other Gryffindor girls. She wants a boyfriend.”

“She’s only 14, Minerva. She has plenty of time to find someone.”

McGonagall raised an eyebrow “You don’t want her to have a boyfriend?”

Dumbledore sighed as he leaned against McGonagall's desk. He looked down at his wife sitting in her chair. She may not be the young spring chicken he fell in love with all of those years ago. Although, he was still captivated by her beauty.

"The more I think about it, my sweet, I don’t know what I want. I know she’s growing up and I am proud of the young lady she is becoming. However, I don’t want her to grow up too fast by dating so soon.”

"I understand." McGonagall smiled. "Just don't be surprised if she asks you if she can have a boyfriend."

“Hello Professor Snape.” Hermione said.

“Miss Granger.” Snape nodded his head.

“Are you alright there, Sev?” Ariana asked, placing a hand on Snape’s arm.

Snape held up a single red rose. “I thought about asking Charity to the Yule Ball. I have no idea why I am so nervous though.”

“Look at you go, stud.” Ariana said.

Snape gave her a smile.

“It might be easier to not think about it, Professor. Just go for it.” Hermione said.

Ariana turned to Hermione. “Not bad advice, Hermione.” She then took Snape’s hand. It felt warm in hers. She ignored her desire to kiss his wrist like she’s done loads of times. “Come on, Severus. I will help you.”

“I don’t think…”

Snape didn’t get a chance to say anything before Ariana was practically dragging him into Professor Burbage’s classroom.

“Aunt Charity.”

“Yes Ari.” Professor Burbage looked up from her work.

When Ariana was little she would call herself “Ari” instead of “Ariana”. Professor Burbage still called her by the nickname.

“Oh hello Severus.” Professor Burbage said. “What can I do for you?”

“Uncle Severus has a question to ask you, Aunt Charity.” Ariana said.

“Oh?”

Snape glared at Ariana for a moment. He then straightened his robes as he sighed. He bowed lightly, holding up the single red rose. “Charity Burbage, would you like to go to the ball with me?”

Professor Burbage looked at the rose, then at Snape, and last at Ariana.

"Are you sure you won't be jealous if he goes with me?" Professor Burbage asked Ariana.

It was more of a joke. Both Snape and Ariana were very protective of each other. Ariana would get “jealous” if she saw some girl try to flirt with Snape. Snape was known to get jealous no matter what.

Ariana smiled. "It's alright. I understand that he can't take me to the Yule Ball. I will be happy with whomever he goes with. Besides….." Ariana leaned in closer as she spoke quietly. "He has a major crush on you."

This caused Snape to glare at Ariana. He would get her back for that later. Professor Burbage turned her attention to the Potions Master.

"I will be happy to go to the ball with you, Severus." Professor Burbage said smiling as she took the rose from Snape.

"Well, you two love birds have fun. I have studying to do." Ariana said, walking away.

"You have a crush on me?" Professor Burbage asked Snape as she continued to smile. Snape just shrugged.

Chapter 6

Snape pinned Charity to the wall outside his room. She groaned at the closeness. Snape smirked as he captured her mouth with his. It was Saturday, Dumbledore allowed them to leave the grounds for a date. They went to London for dinner and a movie. Then when they came back to the school, Snape's urges couldn't hold back anymore. He wanted to hold someone in his arms. To love someone.

Charity pulled back to rest her head against the stone so she could breath. Snape smirked again as he placed kisses on her neck. Ariana was right, he did have a crush on the Muggle Studies teacher, but his heart belonged to the Headmaster's Daughter so he wasn't going to act on his feelings. However, thanks to her big mouth, he was in a relationship with Charity.

" Severus." Charity shuddered.

Snape continued to kiss Charity outside his rooms. They wouldn't be seen. No students were allowed down here. Well except one, but he told her to stay away from him today since he would be busy. He just hoped that she would listen.

Ariana skipped happily down the teachers corridor. She got word that he was back. He went to London with Professor Burbage. He wouldn't tell her why though. He just told her that he would be busy so he didn't want to be bothered. Ariana didn't care. She wanted to see him.

When she made it to the corridor where his room was, she froze. He was definitely back. However, she did not expect to see him snogging the Muggle Studies teacher outside his room.

"Troll!" Ariana yelled.

Snape and Charity separated. They saw Ariana standing there with tears in her eyes. Her hands were knuckles at her sides.

"Ari, honey, you do know that you can't actually be with Severus. He is a teacher and you are a student."

"Shut up!" Ariana yelled.

Snape held up a finger. "You stop this attitude Ariana. Now!"

Ariana flipped off Snape before she turned into her animagus form and ran down the corridor. Snape looked over at Charity.

"I apologize for that, love." Snape said.

Charity smiled. "Don't worry about it. I can always talk to Minerva."

Ariana sat in the back of Muggle Studies. She kept glaring at Professor Burbage as she taught. Ariana knew she needed to take notes or focus on her work, but her anger was too strong. She wanted nothing more than to sneak a poison in the teacher's coffee sitting on her desk.

Just then, Dumbledore walked in. Ariana immediately acted like she was working on her work. Although she knew nothing of the lesson. (She could always ask Hermione later.) Dumbledore came over to her desk. He had her gather up her stuff and follow him out into the corridor.

Ariana folded her arms across her chest as Dumbledore scolded her.

"I want to make something very clear, Ariana. Severus is a teacher . He is also your Godfather so you can not have a romantic relationship with him." Dumbledore said.

Ariana groaned. Dumbledore gave her a stern look.

"I already know that, daddy."

"Then stop glaring at Charity during classes, honey. She didn't do anything wrong."

"Besides kiss Severus." Ariana blurted.

Dumbledore sighed. He knew of his daughter's feelings. Most of the teachers did. That was why it was a running joke about them dating.

"It's clear to see that nothing will get through to you, honey."

"You can't force someone to stop feeling, dad!" Ariana yelled.

Dumbledore pointed his wand at Ariana. "You know how I feel about using magic on you, but I will if I have to."

Ariana sighed. Dumbledore was a powerful Wizard. Only a fool would be stupid as to not recognize it. There were times where he or McGonagall would threaten to use magic on her. It was mostly transfiguration they would threaten. By the time it would happen though, Ariana would start listening.

She glared at the Headmaster. "Fine. I will stop."

"And you very well will to stop this attitude towards Charity or I will ground you till you learn! Do you understand me?"

Dumbledore narrowed his blue eyes. Ariana looked away. Dumbledore raised a white eyebrow.

"Yes sir." Ariana said through gritted teeth.

Dumbledore then sent Ariana on her way. She apologized to Charity for her attitude before walking down the corridor. She saw Snape at the end of the corridor, but she turned on her heels and walked down the other way.

Hermione was confused by this. This wasn't normal Ariana behavior. Normally she would smile at Snape. She took Ariana by the hand and led her to the quad to where they could talk alone. Away from the boys.

"What's going on with you Snape?" Hermione asked.

Ariana folded her arms across her chest. "What do you mean?"

"You two seem to be avoiding one another. Even in classes you two aren't acting like your normal selves." Hermione said.

Ariana sighed. “I just wish I could turn into my animagus form and hide from everyone.”

Hermione stayed silent. Ariana sighed again before she explained everything. Without the details of the “break up.”

“He got “jealous” at seeing me with Dimitri so we got into a fight about that. I tried to go talk to him once we calmed down, but I saw him with Professor Burbage so I guess I got “jealous” too. That caused yet another fight. So now we are avoiding one another completely till he can man up.”

“I am so sorry!” Hermione said. She pulled her best friend into a hug.

“It’s alright. I am okay at the moment.” Ariana lied.

Snape had his hands in his pockets as he watched Ariana with Hermione. He swore he saw Ariana wiping tears from her eyes. Tears that he caused. He ran a finger over the necklace he kept in his pocket. The red gem was shattered from when Ariana threw it. There was a hole where it was supposed to be.

He never told her, but the red gem was supposed to be his heart. Ariana was his heart. His everything. He would not only die for her, but he would kill for her.

“Are you alright, Severus?” Aiden Hawthorn, the Alchemy Professor, asked.

Snape looked over Aiden. He was shorter than him. Only going up to his shoulder. He was also similar in age to him, but Aiden had short brown hair and brown eyes.

“Ariana and I are fighting, Aiden.” Snape admitted.

Aiden and him were in Slytherin together. He was just a year younger than him. Aiden started teaching Alchemy after the other Professor decided to retire.

“I noticed you two are avoiding each other.”

“I wish we weren’t.” Snape sighed as he looked at Ariana.

Their eyes met only briefly before she looked away. In that instant though he saw the pain and sadness he caused. It only made his heart even shatter more. He found himself gripping the necklace in his hand. The sharp edges were digging into his skin.

Aiden patted Snape on the shoulder. “It will get better in time, my friend. Breakups are the worst.”

Snape rolled his eyes. He nodded to Aiden before heading out into the quad. He had to pass Ariana and the trio on his way to the dungeons. He moved closer to her so some students could pass him. Their fingers brushed. It sent electricity between them.

The love for one another was still there. They just needed a way to rekindle it.

Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Summary:

Ariana and Snape talk over things.

Chapter 7

Ariana was packing up her stuff. She just finished up her last class. She had plans to meet up with Hermione at the library. However, she had other plans.

For the last few weeks she's been running through the motions. She hasn't been getting much sleep either. She asked her father for more make up so she could cover up the bags under her eyes. Ariana wasn't going to lie, she missed him.

“Ariana. Aren’t you supposed to be in class?” Snape asked.

“My classes are done for the day.” Ariana said.

“Oh that’s right.” Snape said. He then gave her a wicked smile. “You want to assist me?”

Ariana smiled. She placed her bag down next to his desk along with her outer robe.

“For our next potion we are going to create the Forgetfulness Potion? Miss Dumbledore.” Snape began.

“Yes Professor.” Ariana gave him a starry eyed look that made his throat go dry.

“What does a Forgetfulness Potion cause and what are its three key ingredients?” Snape asked.

Ariana answered the question without thinking. “The Forgetfulness Potion causes memory loss within the drinker. Its key ingredients are Lethe River Water, Mistletoe Berries, and Valerian Springs.”

“Correct. 5 points to Gryffindor.” Snape said.

There were some smiles from the first year Gryffindors.

“Would you like to show these first years how to make it, my dear?” Snape asked.

“Can I?” Ariana asked excitedly.

Snape nodded his head. He then moved so he was standing next to her. He couldn’t keep his focus off of her as she made the potion with ease. Even pausing to answer the questions.

“I am so proud of you.” He said, placing a kiss on her temple.

“Thank you, sir.” Ariana said, smiling back at him.

"Was there anything you needed?" He asked her.

"I just needed someone to talk to."

He reached into his pocket to take out a key for his office. He handed it to her. “Let me finish up with my class. I will meet you in my office when I am done.”

“Yes sir.”

Ariana used wandless magic to grab her bag. She then headed out of the classroom to Snape’s office.

Snape walked in sometime later. He had her robe in his arms. "You forgot your robe." He said, throwing it at her.

Ariana giggled as she threw it back at him. It landed at his feet. He raised an eyebrow at her. Ariana's eyes went wide as Snape stalked towards her. She held up her hands in surrender. However, it did not help. Snape had her under him, tickling her. It was adorable as to how ticklish she was.

"Sev, ah, stop!" Ariana giggled.

Snape stopped. He helped Ariana to sit up next to him.

"What did you want to talk about?" Snape asked.

Ariana picked at her fingernails. Snape took her hands in his to keep her from picking at her nails.

"I wanted to talk about us. I keep getting asked about what happened between you and I." Ariana said.

"I would be lying if I told you that I wasn't being asked the same thing." Snape said.

"I guess I was wondering if we are okay."

Snape raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean, my dear?"

Ariana sighed. "Are we still family?"

Snape let go of one of Ariana's hands so he could place his hand on her cheek. "Ariana, baby, no matter what happens between us, we are still family. I still care deeply about you."

Ariana wrapped her arms around her Godfather. Snape hugged her back. Just then there was a knock on the door. Snape left it open, because he knew they weren't going to try anything. Their relationship was over.

"Severus?"

"Right here, Charity."

He let go of Ariana as Professor Burbage walked in. Ariana hid her jealousy behind a fake smile.

"Hello Aunt Charity."

"Hello Ari." Professor Burbage smiled.

Snape got up from the couch to place a kiss on his girlfriend's cheek. Ariana looked away. She then stood.

"I better get going, I have a lot of studying to do."

Ariana used wandless magic to bring her robe to her. And without another word, she was out the door.

Chapter 8

Ariana left study hall with Dumbledore, because she needed to try on her dress for the Yule Ball. He also needed to know if there was anything else she would need. Mainly makeup or accessories. She smiled kindly at Draco and his friends as she passed them. They were becoming her friends too. Especially since she helped Pansy with a girl emergency a couple days ago.

“Hello my sweet.” Dumbledore said as McGonagall joined them. She laced her fingers with her husband’s.

“Hello my love.” McGonagall said.

Igor’s voice stopped them from going up the stairs. Dimitri was with him. Ariana blushed slightly when Dimitri took her hand and kissed it.

“Would you like to go to the ball with me?” Dimitri asked, smiling.

Ariana turned to her father. Dumbledore smiled and nodded his head. She turned back to Dimitri. She smiled as she said, “Yes.”

Dimitri kissed her hand again before he walked away with Igor. Pansy came over to Ariana. She held her wrist gently.

“Did a Durmstrang boy just ask you to the ball?” Pansy asked with a smile.

“Yes.” Ariana said, smiling back.

The girls squealed. Both Dumbledore and McGonagall had to wince from the noise.

“Draco‘s taking me to the ball.” Pansy said.

“Nice job Draco. I didn’t know you had it in you.” Ariana said.

“Well, the one I wanted to bring, my father wouldn’t allow.” Draco said.

“So he asked me. I don’t mind us going as friends.” Pansy said, smiling at Draco. Draco smiled back.

“Lucius would much rather you go with a pure-blood anyway.” Ariana said. Draco agreed.

"That means you and I can get ready together. I can help you with your hair and make up." Pansy said.

"I could help too." McGonagall said with a smile.

Ariana looked at her mother. "No offense mum, but…"

McGonagall held up a hand. "It's alright. I understand."

“Hey Ariana!” Ron said, waving his hand to her.

Ariana sighed. Ron walked up to her. He ignored the glares he got from Draco and his friends. Especially Pansy who took a protective stance beside the Headmaster’s daughter.

“Ariana, you’re a girl.” Ron stated matter-of-factly.

Ariana folded her arms across her chest. “Last I checked I was.”

“Or does the skirt and chest confuse that pee brain of yours, Weasley?” Pansy asked. Ariana tried her best not to burst out laughing.

“We both know that since you are Dumbledore’s daughter, it will be hard for a boy to ask you to the ball, much less date you.” Ron said.

Ariana’s eyes went wide.

“Mister Weasley.” McGonagall said, shocked.

“I guess I will be the one to take you to the ball.” Ron said, attempting to take Ariana’s hand and kiss it.

Pansy stepped in front of Ariana. “She won’t be going with you. Believe it or not Weasley, someone already asked her. Come on Ariana.” Taking Ariana’s hand, Pansy led her away from Ron.

Draco followed behind them. They could hear McGonagall laying it into Ron as they walked away. Pansy led her all the way to the dungeons. Just outside the Slytherin common room. Pansy hugged Arianna as she cried into her shoulder.

“Miss Parkinson?” Snape asked, confused. “Wha…Ariana?”

Ariana pulled away from Pansy. She walked into the arms of the Potions Master. He was a little startled at first. Especially since they fought quite recently. Ariana caught him snogging Professor Burbage outside his room in the teacher's corridor. However, he relaxed and held Ariana as she cried.

“Ron Weasley said that since she was the Headmaster’s daughter, no one would want to be with her, Professor.” Pansy said.

Ariana could feel Snape tense at that comment. She just held onto him even tighter.

“It’s okay. I’ve got you.” Snape said, placing a kiss on her head.

Snape told the group to go into the common room. Taking Ariana by the hand, he led her to his office. The door was still open. He didn’t mind though. They weren’t going to try anything. He leaned against his desk with his arms folded.

“I never did like the Weasley boy.” Snape said.

“You don’t like anybody, Severus.” Ariana said, a hint of a faint smile.

“Not true. I like you.” Snape said, smirking as he rested his hands on the desk on either side of him.

Ariana folded her arms across her chest. “You mean you tolerate me.”

“Is that what I am doing? I am tolerating you?” Snape chuckled.

Ariana threw her head back laughing.

“There’s that laugh.” Snape said, smiling.

Ariana’s laughing faded as she looked at Snape. Her thoughts came into words when she said, “I’ve missed you.”

Snape looked away. “I missed you too, my dear.”

Ariana took a step to Snape. She placed her hand on his cheek. They looked into each other’s eyes.

“I am sorry.” Ariana said quietly.

“It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have let my jealousy get between us, Ariana.”

“It’s my fault too. I should’ve communicated with you about how I was feeling. And not get upset with you for being with Charity.”

Snape couldn’t stop himself. He pulled Ariana to him as she snogged her. Ariana found herself wrapping her arms around his neck.

“That was nice.” Ariana said, resting her forehead against his.

Snape swallowed a lump in his throat. He wanted to try their relationship again. However, he knew they needed a break. Besides, he was happy with Charity. Maybe one day they could make this work. Hopefully.

Ariana hugged Snape. She whispered, “I know me too.”

“Did you just read my mind?” Snape asked, holding tightly onto her.

Ariana stayed silent. Just then McGonagall walked into Snape’s office. She placed a hand on Ariana’s shoulder which caused the young witch to let go of the Potions Master. That was when Ariana saw him. Dimitri. He was standing behind McGonagall. Dimitri held his arms out to her.

Ariana looked at Snape. There was still pain in his dark eyes. Although the smile on his face wouldn’t show it.

“It’s alright, Ariana.” Snape said.

Ariana hugged Snape one last time. “I will always love you, my love.” she whispered.

“I love you too, Ariana.” Snape said out loud.

Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Summary:

It's time for the Yule Ball. Ariana does sings a song for the teachers and her parents.

Notes:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/400242159/medieval-dress-for-historical

That is what her dress looks like in case you are wondering. I thought of Disney's Brave when I thought about how I wanted the dress to look. So I spent a good hour or two looking through Google trying to figure out the dress *smiles* (I had to find another dress that works since the other link isn't working. You'll have to copy and paste the links, because AO3 isn't letting me post links)

The song I chose for Ariana to sing was You Raise Me Up. The version by The Celtic Women.

Since I went through my notes on Google Docs, I went ahead and reworked the ending to this chapter. I hope you all like it.

Chapter 9

"Ouch Pansy!"

Ariana placed a hand over her eye. Pansy accidentally poked it with the eye liner pencil.

"Well if you stop moving, I wouldn't have poked you." Pansy said.

Pansy groaned as Ariana's make up began to smear. She cleaned her up and tried again. This time she was a little more gentle.

McGonagall knocked on Ariana's bedroom door. She was already in her dress robes. Her graying hair was up in it's tight usual bun.

"Is everything alright in here, girls?"

Pansy sighed. She wanted McGonagall and Dumbledore to wait till she was finished with Ariana's makeup before they intruded. "Yes Professor. I am almost done."

"It's alright, mum. I'll be out shortly." Ariana said.

"Very well. We will be waiting for you in the office." McGongall said, closing the door and walking away.

"Finally." Pansy whispered.

"I am sorry, Pansy. My parents can be….." Ariana trailed off.

"Insufferable."

Ariana giggled a little as Pansy smiled.

"Let me introduce to you, Miss Ariana Dumbledore." Pansy said, motioning at the top of the stairs.

Ariana stood at the top with her hand on the railing. She wore a long sleeve green vintage medieval dress. The sleeves were tightened by string. There was lace detailing at the neck, wrists, and hem of the dress. Ariana wore a necklace with the same design as the broach her mother wore. She had to hold up the dress as she walked down the steps.

There were tears in Dumbledore's eyes as she walked up to him. He placed a hand on her shoulder. "You are so beautiful, my dear Ariana. You've grown up into a lovely young lady who's kind and compassionate. I am proud to call you my daughter."

Ariana held back the tears as she wrapped her arms around Dumbledore. "Thank you daddy." she said, quietly.

"Now let's go before your makeup smears and I have to restart all over again." Pansy said.

Ariana let go of her father. She let Pansy lead her to outside the Great Hall where their boys were waiting for them. Snape was there as well with Professor Burbage. He had a hard time keeping the tears at bay as he saw Ariana standing there. She no longer looked like the little girl he helped raise. She was a bright lovely young lady.

"I have something for you, Ariana." Snape said. He reached into the pocket of his overcoat. He handed her a gray box. It was from her favorite jeweler, Kali Stone.

Ariana opened the box. It was a pair of green stud earrings with snake eyes.

"Oh Severus, they're beautiful!" Ariana exclaimed. She immediately took out her plain studs and replaced them with the ones Severus got her.

"You are welcome, my dear." Snape said, a small smile forming across his lips.

Snape used a charm on the box that held Ariana's other studs. He shrunk it so it wouldn't stand out in his pocket. Ariana looked up into his Onyx eyes. She found herself standing on her tippy toes to place a kiss on Snape's cheek. Snape smiled as he watched Ariana walk away with Dimitri.

"Now before our other performance comes out, one of our Hogwarts students wanted to put on a special performance for the Headmaster and the teachers." Professor Flitwick said.

Everyone was a little confused. Ariana walked out onto the stage. She held a microphone in her hand. She then used her wand to cast a slideshow of pictures as she sang. The pictures were of her as an infant in her father's arms till the beginning of her fourth year. There were some of when she was with Snape either as a toddler in his classroom or a young kid learning the basics of Potion making. And as the song intensified with the Hogwarts choir behind her, there were pictures of her with each one of the teachers who'd known her as a little girl.

When the song ended Ariana said a few words. "This was my Christmas present to all of you. I wouldn't be who I am today without you. And I thank each and every one of you for that."

Ariana stepped off the stage as Flitwick introduced the actual performers. She was still surprised that her father was able to get her favorite band to play. She met her parents and some of the teachers out in the corridor where it was quieter.

"I wasn't expecting to cry, Ari." Professor Burbage said, wiping the tears from her eyes.

"Sorry Aunt Charity." Ariana said.

"I am so proud of you." McGonagall said, hugging Ariana.

"As am I." Snape said, walking up to them.

Ariana looked at Snape. "You taught me everything I know about Potions and so much more, Uncle Severus. Yes all of the other teachers helped raise me, but you are my Godfather. You were the one who took me to get my teeth fixed. You homeschooled me. You even let me hang out in your classroom while you taught your students."

Snape pressed his lips together to keep himself from crying. Ariana was right. Because of her parents' positions there were times where Snape was asked to take care of Ariana. On a few occasions she was either in his room here at the school or in her room at his house in London. She would even spend the holidays with him when she wanted or needed to.

It was getting late Ariana needed to head back to her room or the Gryffindor common room. She shouldn’t be swaying against Dimitri. Letting the boy place several kisses against her throat.

Dimitri .” Ariana shuddered.

He continued to place kisses against her throat while he gripped waist. Ariana wasn’t thinking straight. Snape would’ve never given her this much attention. He would be too worried about someone catching them.

Ariana turned to Dimitri to kiss him passionately. His hands gripped her waist.

“Merlin!” Ariana said as she threw her head back. Dimitri attacked her throat again.

“50 points from Gryffindor!”

The voice seemed to break the hormonal teens apart.

“Sev…..” Ariana tried to plead with Snape.

“It’s late Ariana. It’s time for bed.” Snape said.

“I’m not a little girl anymore, Severus!” Ariana shouted. The power of her voice made the Great Hall go quiet. “Besides, dad said I can stay up as late as I wanted.”

“How would he feel if he saw his daughter dancing provocatively?” Snape asked. “Do you think he would be proud or disappointed?”

Ariana went silent as she looked down at the ground.

"I asked you a question, Ariana." Snape said.

“He would be disappointed.” Ariana said, quietly.

“As am I. Now I suggest you head up to your room before I ground you.” Snape said, pointing to the door.

Without a second glance at Dimitri, she bolted out of the Great Hall and up the stairs. She could hear Snape laying into Hagrid for not keeping an eye on the kids.

The next morning, Ariana woke up to marks all over the upper part of her chest and neck. There were even some on her waist. Dimitri did a number on her. She didn’t care though. Thankfully it was a colder day. So she wore a maroon turtleneck sweater dress with gold tights and maroon combat boots. When she walked down the steps, her father was sitting in his chair reading The Daily Prophet. All she had to do was sneak quietly away.

"Ariana, stay a moment, my dear." Dumbledore said. His voice was calm, but stern.

Ariana sighed. She turned so she was facing the desk. Her hands were at her sides.

"Yes daddy." Ariana said, nervously.

Dumbledore placed the paper down on his desk. His blue eyes said a lot. They were disappointed. She could even see a hint of anger. Ariana looked down. That was when she saw where Dumbledore's hand was resting on. It was an article about her dancing provocatively with Dimitri.

"What is it that muggles say? A picture is worth a thousand words?" Dumbledore asked.

Ariana looked back up at her father. "Yes sir."

"You want to explain to me about what you were doing last night?" Dumbledore asked.

Ariana swallowed the lump in her throat. She didn’t know what to say.

Dumbledore stood up from his chair. He walked to stand in front of the young witch. "I understand that you are dealing with hormones, but as my daughter, that was unacceptable.

"Daddy…" Ariana started as tears formed behind her eyes.

"Silence!" Ariana shut up instantly. "You are not only representing this school but me as well. How can I get others to respect me if my daughter acts like that?"

Ariana looked down at the ground. Tears were falling down her cheeks. Her father was right. She shouldn't have danced that way with Dimitri nor should she have attempted to pick a fight with Snape last night.

"What do you have to say for yourself, Ariana?" Dumbledore asked.

Ariana looked at her father. "I am sorry, sir.”

"You will not only be grounded, but you will have extra chores. Go ahead and head to the kitchens. Mr. Filch is waiting for you." Dumbledore said.

"Yes sir." Ariana wiped her eyes with the cuff of her sleeve. She then left Dumbledore's office.

Ariana walked into her mother’s office later that night. She was exhausted from doing extra chores all day. However, she was able to take a short break to join Dimitri for lunch.

“Hi mum. You wanted to see me.”

McGonagall looked up from the papers she was grading. She motioned Ariana over to the couch where a cup of tea was being poured. Magically of course.

“I guess this is about Dimitri and I.” Ariana said, sitting down.

“Yes. Your father is still a little upset. And I can say that I am not happy as well, but I understand.” McGonagall said.

Ariana rubbed the back of her neck. “Honestly mum. I don't know what came over me. I wasn't thinking clearly."

McGonagall smiled as she placed a hand on her daughter's hand. "Like I was saying, dear. I understand. You are getting older so you are getting more interested in boys."

Ariana smiled. "So you two are okay with me dating Dimitri?"

Before McGonagall could answer, Dumbledore walked in with Snape. Ariana noticed that Snape had a pill bottle in his hand.

“Ariana, honey, I am deciding to put you on birth control.” Dumbledore said.

“Do you think I am going to bang every boy here or something!?” Ariana exclaimed.

McGonagall tried to diffuse the situation. “It’s just a precaution, dear.”

Ariana narrowed her eyes at Snape. “My guess this is your idea, Severus.”

“You’re only 14!” Snape raised his vice.

“That doesn’t mean I want to start whoring myself out! Seriously, Professor, you need to stop being so possessive.”

Severus was about to say something, but Dumbledore stopped him.

“Look, we just care about you. I am still trying to get used to the idea of my little girl liking boys. So I want to put you on birth control.” Dumbledore said.

Ariana folded her arms across her chest. “And what if I say no?”

“As long as you live under my roof you will listen to me!” Dumbledore said, raising his voice.

Ariana stood. “This isn’t your roof. You don’t own the school!”

McGonagall pointed a finger at Ariana. She didn’t blame her for being upset, but that didn’t give her a right to be this hostile towards them.

“You listen here young lady. You will respect us or you will be grounded till the end of term.” McGonagall said.

Ariana groaned. She sat down on the couch. She hid her face in her hands.

“You have a choice. Poppy can give you a prescription or I can make you a potion that you would take daily.” Severus said.

“Or we can try other options. We can take you to the Muggle doctors and see what they say.” Dumbledore said.

Madam Pomfrey was Ariana’s primary care doctor, but there were times where they had to see a Muggle doctor who worked with the Wizarding World. He saw many kids of Wizarding parents. Some of the kids were witches and wizards themselves.

“I’ll take the pills.” Ariana said.

Snape handed her the pill bottle for Ariana to examine. He could see how upset she was. He also did not blame her for being this angry. He just did not want her pregnant with someone’s else’s baby.

Chapter 10

Ariana was in Dumbledore's office when Neville walked in.

"Ah, Mister Longbottom! Do you need something?" Dumbledore asked.

"May I talk to Ariana, sir?" Neville asked, nervously.

Ariana looked at her father who just smiled and nodded his head.

"We can talk in my room." Ariana said, leading Neville up the stairs.

"Do you have Gillyweed?" Neville asked once they were in her room.

Ariana nodded her head. She then looked through her supplies. "What do you need it for?" Not that she cared. She just didn't want to get in trouble for giving it to him.

"For Harry. For the second task." Neville said.

Ariana handed him a small jar with the Gillyweed. "Just make sure to keep it hidden. I don't want to get into trouble for letting him use it. Although, I don't think Snape will mind. He was the one who gave it to me."

"I understand." Neville said.

"Ariana, your father is asking for you. It's time to head to the lake for the second task. He wanted me to tell you to put on your warmest jumper and probably your knit cap as well." The portrait said.

Ariana sighed. She went into her closet to grab her jumper. Then she went into the top drawer of her dresser to grab her Hogwarts knit cap. The one her mother bought when getting her outer robes.

"The perks of your father being the Headmaster." Ariana said, smiling and rolling her eyes.

Neville chuckled some. He hid the Gillyweed in his pocket as he followed Ariana out.

"Did you give it to him?" Ariana whispered.

Neville nodded his head. "He seems tense."

"I just hope he will be okay." Ariana said.

Dimitri came over to wrap an arm around her shoulders. She leaned into him.

When Fleur had to retire, Ariana placed her hands in her pockets. Why didn't she put on her gloves? She wished Dimitri stayed beside her instead of going to the other Durmstrang boys.

"Come on Harry." Ariana said, blowing into her hands to keep them warm.

"Here, let me." Snape said, taking Ariana's hands in his.

Things may be officially over between them, but he was still her Godfather. He cared a lot about her. That was why he kept a pair of gloves for her in his coat. He used a spell to warm them up before he placed them on her hands.

"Thanks." Ariana said.

Snape smiled a bit. He then took off his black scarf and wrapped it around the young witch. Ariana smiled as she looked into Snape's eyes. Snape smiled back at her.

“He hasn’t come back up yet.” Neville said.

Ariana turned to look at Neville. “There’s still time, Neville. Just relax.”

Neville took several deep breaths. He then went over to stand with Seamus and Dean. Ariana closed her eyes and sighed. She didn’t know she was leaning against Snape until his arms went around her. His expensive delicate cologne filled her nostrils.

“Maybe you should listen to your own advice, Ariana.” Snape said.

Ariana moved away from the Potions Master. “I’m fine, Professor.” She then walked away so she could stand with the boys. Dimitri pulled her away from her fellow Gryffindors over to him. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close.

Snape wanted nothing more than to yank Dimitri by the collar. He didn’t want him anywhere near his Ariana. He clenched his fists at his sides as he stared down the back of Dimitri’s head. He hoped the boy would turn around.

His thoughts were brought back to the lake when the Diggory boy and Krum came out of the water. Ariana was glad to see Hermione. However she started to panic. Time was about to be up. They had 5 minutes left. Harry still hadn’t made it above the water yet. Hermione looked at Ariana. She knew she was non verbally asking about Harry. Ariana just shook her head.

Dumbledore came down from the higher level with Bartley Crouch. He looked at Ariana who gave him a concerned look. He wrapped an arm around her to pull her close to him.

"Harry's got this." Dumbledore whispered, placing a kiss on top of her head.

"I know. I am just so worried about him." Ariana said.

Once time ended, Ron came up with Fleur's younger sister. Harry still hadn't been seen. Tears began to form in her eyes as she held up her hands to her mouth. She bit a finger to control herself. She tensed when she felt someone place their hands on her shoulder. It was Snape. Her hands went to his.

"Severus, we need……" Dumbledore didn't have a chance to finish before Harry came crashing down.

"Harry!" Ariana exclaimed as tears fell down her cheeks, smearing her makeup. She went to Harry's side. She helped Hermione in getting Harry warmed up.

Back at the dock, Snape helped Ariana off the boat. "Thank you, Professor." she said.

"You are welcome, my dear." Snape said, letting her pet name slip.

Ariana smiled. She took off the scarf that he let her use. "Thank you for letting me use it."

Snape nodded his head. Dimitri came up beside her. He offered to walk her back to the school. Ariana declined.

"I am going to visit Hagrid with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I can meet up with you later if you want." Ariana said.

Dimitri narrowed his eyes at Ariana for an instant before giving her a sweet smile. He placed a kiss on her cheek before joining his friends.

"Ariana, come on!" Harry called to her.

Ariana turned to Snape. He nodded his head. "Go ahead. Just don't stay out too late."

Ariana nodded her head. She then jogged to catch up to Harry. "Hello Moral Fiber." she teased. Harry just lightly shoved her.

Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Summary:

Snape confronts Ariana about stealing from his stores.

Notes:

ImMyOwnDefender gave me a wonderful idea. So I played with it. I didn't want to make things seem forced. So I apologize if it feels that way.

Also I do place a warning on this Chapter. I couldn't find the right tag to add the warning so I apologize. There will be a part of physical abuse by a boyfriend. I apologize about that now. But with that said, Draco and Harry care a lot for Ariana. Especially Draco.

Chapter 11

A few weeks later, Ariana was in her bedroom listening to some music as she worked on her homework. There was a soft knock on the door.

“Come in.” Ariana said, lifting her head. She saw Dumbledore walk in with Snape.

“I’m sorry, Ariana. Some things are missing from Severus’ personal stores. Do you mind if we look through your ingredients?” Dumbledore said.

Ariana didn’t seem bothered by this. She hadn’t been anywhere in Snape’s stores. She motioned over to her desk where she stored her potion supplies.

“Go right ahead.” Ariana said. She hummed softly to the music as wrote down her answers.

Snape went over to look through her stuff. He even checked the small bag that Ariana kept in her school bag. She didn’t have what he was missing. However, it looked like she was missing a few things herself.

“I thought I gave you Lacewing Flies last year as a birthday gift.” Snape said.

Ariana looked up at the Potions Master. “You did. Was it not there?”

Snape shook his head. “Neither was Fluxweed or Knotgrass.”

Ariana was confused. She got up from the floor where she was studying to check on her shelf above her desk where she kept her own ingredients. Snape was right. She was missing a few things herself. Even some of her Potions supplies were missing.

“Who all knows that you have your own ingredients?” Dumbledore asked.

“The whole school.” Ariana said.

“Who knows you have the ingredients used to make Polyjuice Potion? Snape asked.

Ariana leaned against her desk. “Not many. Draco does. Maybe Ron, Harry, and Hermione as well."

“If I might, Headmaster. I think Potter and his friends are brewing Polyjuice Potion." Snape said.

“What makes you think we're behind this?” Ariana asked, defensively.

“Should we go back to second year?” Snape asked.

“Just because we brewed Polyjuice Potion then doesn’t mean we are brewing it now, you Troll.”

“Don’t lie to me, Ariana. You know the consequences for lying.”

“You are able to read minds, Professor. You should know that I am not lying. Or are you really that thick?”

“Alright enough!” Dumbledore’s voice echoed off the walls of Ariana’s bedroom.

“If we are done here, then please leave. I have homework to do.” Ariana said. She pushed past Snape back to the coffee table where she was studying.

"Scooch." Ariana said.

Harry moved a tiny bit on the bench. There wasn't much room left for Ariana. Harry wrapped an arm around her waist to keep her falling.

"So do you three want to explain to me about why Snape came to look through my potion ingredients?" Ariana asked.

"I thought after second year we wouldn't brew it ever again." Ron said.

"We did." Hermione said.

Harry looked over at Ariana. This was the first time he ever saw the beauty of Ariana. He found himself pulling her closer to him.

"Snape thinks it's us brewing Polyjuice Potion." Harry said.

"I am actually missing a few things myself too. I had Lacewing Flies, Knotgrass, and Fluxweed. They are gone. I am even missing a few of my supplies. Like viles and my extra cauldron." Ariana explained.

"That doesn't make sense. Everyone knows to ask you before they take anything." Hermione said.

"I know. And it isn't like they can get in my room without approval. My father is usually at his desk. He doesn't let anyone just go up there if I am not in my room." Ariana said.

"Has anyone been in your room this year?" Harry asked.

"No one that usually isn't in my room. Snape, my parents, me. I did allow Neville in, but that was because he needed Gillyweed for the second task." Ariana explained.

"Did Snape or your parents seem out of place?" Ron asked.

Ariana thought about it for a moment. She then shook her head.

"Is Dumbledore doing anything about it?" Harry asked.

"I don't think so, Moral Fiber." Ariana teased.

"You know what." Harry said, lightly shoving Ariana off the bench.

Harry wasn't expecting Ariana to drag him with her. He found himself on top of the Headmaster's daughter.

"Hi Harry." Ariana giggled.

"Hi Ariana." Harry said, smiling.

Just then Harry was shoved.

"Dimitri, what the hell!?" Ariana asked as she stood. She took a protective stance in front of Harry.

"She's mine!" Dimitri yelled. He then grabbed Ariana by the hand, leading her away from the trio.

"Dimitri. Stop. Please." Ariana pleaded.

Dimitri slammed Ariana into the stone. She will definitely have a bruise there tomorrow.

"You're mine!" Dimitri yelled.

"I'm not a piece of property you can own, you twit." Ariana said, narrowing her eyes.

Ariana's cheek began to burn. Her hand went to her cheek. He hit her!

Harry shoved Dimitri back as he took a protective stance in front of Ariana. Hermione comforted Ariana as best she could. Draco came up with his friends a few moments later. He pointed his wand at Dimitri.

"Potter, I suggest you get Ari out of here." Draco said.

Harry took Ariana by the hand. He led her away. He took her all the way to the Gryffindor Common Room.

"I can't believe he would do something like that!" Ariana exclaimed as tears ran down her face.

"What happened?" Ginny asked.

"Dimitri slapped her across the face." Ron said.

"Do you want me to get Professor Dumbledore or Professor McGonagall?" A Gryffindor girl asked.

Ariana shook her head. "They don't need to be involved in something like this. Karkaroff and my father are good friends."

Ariana sat down on the couch next to Harry. She found herself laying her head against his shoulder. She cried softly as Harry held her hand.

Chapter 12

Ariana walked with the trio as they headed towards Herbology. Draco and his friends were in front of them. Draco kept looking back at her.

Ariana wasn’t looking the best. Her hair was unkempt, bags were under her green eyes, and her skin was pale. She spent all night crying. And this morning she had to rush to get ready because she was going to be late for classes.

“Ariana!”

Ariana paused at her name being called. She turned to see Dimitri walking up to her. Harry took a protective stance in front of her.

“She doesn’t want to talk to you.” Harry said.

“Let me apologize. Please.” Dimitri said.

“No.” Draco stood next to Harry. “You were already told to back off.”

Hermione took Ariana by the hand so they could enter the classroom. She took her place beside the muggleborn witch while Pansy stood across from her.

Professor Sprout had Ariana come over to her.

“Is everything alright, dear?” Professor Sprout asked.

Ariana just nodded her head. “Dimitri and I broke up. I am alright though.”

“I am so sorry, Ariana. Would you like to talk to Minerva? She has a free period this morning.”

Ariana shook her head. “I’m fine, Aunt Pomona. I just want to focus on my classes today.”

Professor Sprout could tell Ariana was not indeed alright. Ariana wasn’t the type to keep secrets. She usually told what was bothering her. Sprout decided to not push. She would just have to talk to McGonagall later.

Finally the last class of the day. It was Potions, but at least she was hidden in the dungeons. Snape cocked his head to one side when he saw Ariana walking into class. He put a hand on her shoulder to stop her from entering.

“What happened?” Snape asked.

“Nothing. It’s just been a long day. I’m tired.” Ariana said, plastering a fake smile on her face.

“You know I know you better than that, little one.” Snape said, letting her other pet name slip.

Ariana shoved Snape gently. “I’m fine, Severus.”

She headed into class, taking a seat next to Harry who placed an arm on her shoulder to whisper in her ear. Snape narrowed his eyes. A flash of a memory of when James used to do that with Lilly while walking through the halls.

“Potter, you can flirt with Miss Dumbledore at another time. Not during my class.” Snape said, sternly.

Harry quickly removed his arm. A few Gryffindors snickered.

“We weren’t flirting, sir. Harry was just asking me a question.” Ariana said.

Snape raised an eyebrow. Out of the corner of his eye he thought he saw Harry place a hand on Ariana’s thigh. Ariana smiled and gently removed it.

They were quickly working on some book work when McGonagall walked in. She walked up to Snape to whisper in his ear.

“I will only be out a few minutes. Continue to work on your bookwork quietly.” Snape said before the door shut.

Ariana leaned to whisper in Harry’s ear. “ Did you say anything ?”

Harry shook his head no. Ariana looked over at Draco. He also shook his head no.

“It may not be about you.” Ron asked.

“Usually when she’s secretive like that. It has to be about me.” Ariana said.

“Miss Dumbledore.” Snape said, poking his head in the classroom.

Ariana turned to Snape. “Sir?”

“Come here for a moment.” Snape said.

Ariana sighed. She got up from the desk. When Snape shut the door, McGonagall wasted no time in figuring out what’s wrong.

“Pomona said you and Dimitri broke up. She also said that Mister Potter and Mister Draco were trying to keep Dimitri from you. Now I understand you want to keep this to yourself, Ariana, but if something happened then we need to know.”

“Nothing happened, mum. We just had an argument.” Ariana said.

“Did he say anything or do anything during the argument?” Snape asked.

Ariana looked at the Potions Master. He was leaning against the classroom door with his hand on the doorknob. Probably to keep her from going back in.

She shook her head. “No sir.”

Snape raised an eyebrow. He looked at McGonagall who gave him a saddening expression. They both knew Ariana was lying.

As Ariana went back into the classroom. One by one they brought out Harry, Ron, Hermione. Even Draco and Pansy. And one by one they said the same thing. Ariana and Dimitri had an argument.

“Why can’t you just let me deal with this on my own!?” Ariana exclaimed as Pansy came walking in.

“Because if he did something to hurt you then we need to know.” McGonagall explained narrowing her eyes.

Ariana narrowed her eyes back at her mother. “Nothing happened! We had an argument.”

The bell rang meaning class was over. Ariana was going to leave with the rest of the class, but Snape had her stay back. Harry whispered in her ear saying that he would wait for her. Snape sent McGonagall on her way.

Snape walked right up to Ariana once he shut the door. He took her hand in his. He kissed her wrist. It got Arianna to smile.

“Still as beautiful as the moon in the night sky.” Snape said, kissing her wrist again.

“Sev, please. Don’t get my hopes up.” Ariana said, sadly.

“I’m not. I am trying to get you to smile.” Snape said.

Ariana pulled her hand back. It tingles from where he kissed it.

“I am alright. I just need time. Not everyone can move on so easily.” Ariana said.

“You were the one who told Charity that I had a crush on her.” Snape said, narrowing her eyes.

“I was trying to make things easier!”

Snape walked closer to Ariana. It caused her to back up against the desk.

“Well it worked. Now I am with Charity.” Snape said.

“I am happy for you.” Ariana lied.

Her heart was not only shattered by Dimitri, but she couldn’t bear to see Snape with Charity.

“Are you sure about that, little one?” Snape asked. Towering over Ariana.

“Yes. Now will you let me go. I have a lot of studying to do.” Ariana said, shoving Snape lightly.

Snape sighed. He just went to the door to open it. Ariana walked into the awaiting arms of Harry. Harry glared at Snape as he hugged Ariana. Snape just went back into the classroom.

“Come on. Let’s go find Hermione and Ron.” Harry said, taking Ariana’s hand.

Ariana smiled as Harry held her hand through the dungeons and through the corridors of the school. They passed McGonagall and Dumbledore who stood outside the Great Hall. Hermione and Ron were in the Great Hall.

Dumbledore gave his wife a shocked look.

“She broke up with Dimitri.” McGonagall said.

“She moves on fast.” Dumbledore said.

Snape came up to the pair. He was hand in hand with Professor Burbage.

“She isn’t with Mister Potter, Headmaster.” Snape said.

“Did you figure out what was going on, Severus?” McGonagall asked.

Snape shook his head. “No. I am starting to think it was an argument.”

“It must’ve been a big argument for Harry and Draco to feel that protective of her.” Dumbledore said, watching Draco hug his daughter.

Chapter 13

The next day, Snape had Ariana come by his office. They really needed to talk. Her grades were slipping in Potions. She got an Acceptable on the last written exam they had. Her lowest grade yet.

“You wanted to see me, Professor?” Ariana asked, walking into Snape’s office. She held onto the strap of her bag.

Snape used his wand to shut and lock the door. He also put a silencing charm on the room for safe measure.

"You are not in trouble, my dear. I just want to talk. We hadn't really talked." Snape said.

"I wonder why." Ariana blurted quietly.

Snape pressed his lips together to keep himself from reprimanding her. He didn’t have her come to his office so they could fight.

"How are you doing?" Snape asked, leaning against his desk.

"I am fine, Professor." Ariana said.

“Ariana, it's just us now. You don’t have to call me Professor.” Snape said.

Ariana shook her head. Her dark curls lightly bounced against her face. Snape was reminded when he assisted in curling Ariana’s hair when she was younger. The poor girl kept burning herself.

“I would rather not, sir.” Ariana said.

"Alright." Snape sighed. "How are your classes going? I noticed your grades in Potions are dropping slightly. Is there anything I can help you with, Miss Dumbledore?"

Ariana shook her head. She was definitely still pretty upset about her break up with Dimitri. Snape wanted to wring the boy's neck for hurting his girl's feelings.

"Are you sure? I am your teacher. If you have a problem with the material then I would like to help." Snape said.

Ariana sighed. "It's alright, sir. I am just having a hard time focusing right now. I will do better."

“This wouldn’t have to do anything about us? Would it?” Snape blurted, looking away.

It would be a lie if Snape wasn't distracted himself. He continually thought of Ariana. It even thought of the young witch when he was with Charity. He had to end his relationship with the Muggle Studies teacher.

“I'd rather not say, sir.” Ariana said, looking down at her shoes.

Snape sighed. He walked up to Ariana. He grabbed her chin to have her look at him. His heart broke as he looked into her green eyes. She was holding back tears.

"I broke it off with Charity, because I couldn't stop thinking about you, little one." Snape confessed.

" Severus please ." Ariana pleaded quietly. Moving away from him.

"Ariana, please. Let me in. I promise that I won't tell your parents." Snape said.

"How can I believe that!? You tell my father everything!"

"Not true! I kept our relationship a secret."

Ariana took a step forward. "You also never made us official."

"I know! I feel like shit everyday knowing that I broke your heart, my dear." Snape said, sadly.

"Well you should've thought about that before…." Ariana trailed off as she turned away.

Silence overtook them. Snape wanted nothing more than to pull Ariana into a hug. He wished he could get a hold of a time turner so he could go back in time to fix everything. However, he also knew how dangerous that would be.

"I never had a chance to apologize to Lilly. I lost her before I had a chance to. I don't want to make the same mistake with you, Ariana. I am sorry for the pain I have caused you." Snape said sadly.

Ariana looked at Snape. She stayed silent. Snape rarely brought up Lilly. It was old wounds that he didn't want to reopen.

"Severus." Ariana said.

Snape's black eyes met the green eyes of Ariana. Ariana didn't say anything. She just walked into his arms. Snape was a little taken aback, but he held her tightly.

"I never stopped thinking about you, my love." Ariana said, looking up at Snape.

"I know you may not want to try again. I just want to let you know that I will always love you." Snape said.

Ariana buried her face in Snape's chest. She breathed in his expansive delicate cologne. He was right. Ariana didn't have strength to have another try at their relationship. She wanted to give herself time to heal. That didn't mean she didn't want Snape. Merlin did she ever want him.

There was a knock on the door. It caused them to back away from one another. Snape used his wand to unlock the door and release the silencing charm.

“Ariana, are you ready to go yet?” Hermione asked, standing in the doorway.

“Where are you going?” Snape asked.

“The Black Lake.” Ariana said, a little nervous.

“With?”

“Hermione and I, Professor.” Ginny said.

Snape nodded his head. "You may go. Just don't stay out too late."

"Yes sir." Ariana said. She gave Snape one last look before she left his office.

Ariana shouldn't be here. She told Hermione and Ginny to head back to the castle. She wasn't expecting to be up against a tree, snogging Dimitri. Yet here she was.

Dimitri broke the kiss to look at Ariana. "I am sorry. I lost my temper."

"It's alright." Ariana shrugged. "Harry and Draco care a lot about me."

"I was more afraid of Malfoy than Potter." Dimitri said.

"Draco and I grew up together. He's always had this protectiveness over me." Ariana explained.

Dimitri raised an eyebrow in confusion. Ariana continued.

"Because of my parents' positions, Snape took care of me. He is best friends with Lucius Malfoy so growing up I spent a lot of time with the Malfoys. They became like my second family."

"What about Potter?" Dimitri asked, a little annoyed.

"Harry and I are just friends. He is like a brother to me. My mum wanted to take him in after Voldemort killed his parents. Dad was against it though." Ariana said.

Dimitri wanted to tell her something, but chose against it. He just chose to lead her to the picnic he had planned for the two of them.

Chapter Text

Chapter 14

Ariana ran through the corridor. She needed to find a teacher. Mainly her mother. Her bag with all of her school books and wand were at the Black Lake, but it didn’t matter to her. She just wanted to get away. She needed to get away.

The one teacher she didn’t want to run into, but did anyway. Was Professor Snape. He noticed Ariana was half dressed. All that was left of her uniform was the skirt. Her tights and shoes were gone too. Her black bra was the only thing that covered her top. He couldn’t tell if she had any underwear on.

Snape went into action. Using his cloak to cover Ariana, he picked her up to carry her to the hospital. Ariana clutched onto Snape like he was a lifeline. Tears fell down her cheeks as she constantly apologized.

“Shh.. I got you.” Snape said, calmly.

“Is Ariana alright, Professor?” Hermione asked as Snape placed Ariana on the bed.

Ariana still clutched onto Snape as he asked Hermione and Ginny to go to the Black Lake to see if they could find her things. He told them that he would keep them updated as best he could.

“What happened?” Dumbledore asked as he entered the Hospital followed by Fudge and McGongonall.

The last task was tomorrow so Fudge was here to help get things ready.

“I’m sorry Severus. I’m so sorry.” Ariana said.

Severus kissed Arianna on the head. His fingers gently combed through her black hair. Attempting to get the tangles out.

“I don’t know. I found her running through the halls with barely anything on.” Snape said.

McGonagall looked at Dumbledore with a concerned look. She then placed a hand on Arianna’s shoulder. “Ariana, honey, it’s mummy.”

“Where’s daddy?” Ariana asked. Her vision was blurred by tears.

During their date, Dimitri confessed that he only got close to her so he could harm her father. Ariana tried to stop him. He wouldn’t let her though. He ended up using his wand to keep her held down so he could take advantage of her. Even with her being powerful, she couldn't break through. She just laid as silent tears fell down her cheeks.

“I’m here, Ariana.” Dumbledore said, lightly moving McGonagall out of the way.

Ariana moved from Snape to hug her father close. She cried into his shoulder. Dumbledore just held her as she cried.

“What happened, Ariana?” Dumbledore asked.

“Dimitri hurt me.” Ariana finally said, pulling back to look into the Headmaster’s blue eyes.

“How?”

“He took advantage of me, daddy.”

“He won’t harm you anymore, sweet pea. I will make sure of it!”

“We found her things, Professor.” Hermione said, walking in with the rest of Ariana’s uniform. Ginny had her bag.

With Snape's cloak tightly around her, Ariana climbed off the bed she stood on to hug the Headmaster. She took her uniform from Hermione so she could put her black tank and black panties on. She tried to give Snape back his cloak, but he wrapped it over her for comfort. This caused a small smile to form across her lips. Ariana then went through her bag to find the tube of chapstick her mother gave her. She put some on her lips which were scarred from her biting them.

Dimitri came in a little later with Igor. McGonagall was so upset that she went up and slapped Dimitri right in the face. Igor tried to step in, but Dumbledore pulled back his wife by her waist. He pulled the Head of Gryffindor house behind him. NO ONE messes with Dumbledore's girls!

Ginny and Hermione were shocked at McGonagall. They secretly enjoyed seeing their head of house act this way.

“You leave my daughter alone, Cockroach!” McGonagall yelled.

“Easy Minerva.” Dumbledore said, turning to his wife. He placed his hands on her shoulders. ,

“Did you harm Ariana Dumbledore, son?” Fudge asked Dimitri.

“Dimitri did no such thing to Ariana.” Igor said.

“I was just giving her what she wanted.” Dimitri said.

“How do you know what she wanted!?” Ginny asked, stepping in Dimitri’s space.

Igor moved in between Dimitri and Ginny. McGonagall moved away from her Husband to stand in front of her Gryffindors. Her wand was pointed at Igor. A mother’s love was the strongest power of all. McGonagall would do whatever it took to protect her daughter. She used that same love to protect her students.

“Miss Weasley, Miss Granger. Why don’t you go? We’ll take care of it.” Dumbledore said, trying to get McGonagall to put her wand away.

“Stop protecting him Kakaroff!” Ariana yelled.

Igor moved to get up in Ariana’s face, but Snape placed himself between him and his Goddaughter.

“Step aside, Severus.” Igor said with venom in his voice.

“You will not harm her.” Snape said, glaring at Igor.

“I suggest you two leave so we can get this sorted out.” Fudge said.

Igor led Dimitri away. McGonagall ran to her daughter. Ariana hugged her mother tightly.

“I can run some tests to see if anything was left.” Madam Pomfrey, who was quiet the whole time, spoke up.

“Albus, I want to stay. I need to know.” McGonagall said as tears stung her eyes.

“Come on, Severus. Let's see if we can’t get this sorted out.” Dumbledore said.

Snape gave one more look at Ariana still clutching to her mother. It was time he became a man and stepped up. He lost Lilly. He wasn’t going to lose Ariana too.

Ariana sat in Moody’s office with a book. Moody suggested she stayed in his office while the last task was going on. Just to keep her away from Dimitri. Of course he denied everything. And there was no proof found on Ariana either. He finished himself on the ground beside her.

She was unable to read her book so she decided to walk around. In other words, snoop. There was nothing out of the ordinary. Well besides the big chest in the middle of the room that no one could get in to. Every once in a while it sounded like someone was screaming.

She went over to a cabinet to find the flask that Moody usually drinks out of. Or one of them at least. There wasn’t anything left. Maybe one or two drops left. Not enough to do anything. She popped the top and took a whiff. Maybe she could win the bet as to what the drink was.

That smell though. It wasn’t alcohol. It was……

“Polyjuice Potion.” Ariana said, confused.

Just then Moody brought Harry in. Harry was clutching Moody's arm.

Hiding the flask, she went to Harry’s side. He kept talking about how Voldemort was back. And Cedric was dead.

“Cedric.” Ariana said as tears filled her eyes.

“I’m sorry, Ariana, I tried.” Harry said.

Ariana wrapped her arms around her friend. “It’s alright Harry. I am just glad you're safe.”

It turned out Moody was behind it all. Harry won the Triwizard Tournament because of him.

“Are you looking for this?” Ariana said as she held up the flask. She took a protective stance in front of Harry. She gripped her wand.

“The Dark Lord will be proud of me for silencing not only the great Harry Potter but Dumbledore’s pride and joy as well.” Moody said, getting ready to attack.

" Expelliarmus ." Ariana said as she disarmed Moody.

However it was her father who busted down the door. McGonagall and Snape followed behind. Snape used a vile of some sort of potion. Ariana could smell the potion from where she was.

Veritaserum .” Ariana whispered to Harry. Harry looked at Ariana. He remembered that Snape had it.

“Do you know who I am!?” Dumbledore exclaimed angrily as he pointed his wand at Moody.

“Albus Dumbledore.” Moody said.

“Are you Alastair Moody!?”

“No.”

“Is he in this room!?”

“Moody” didn’t say anything. He just looked over at the chest that Harry and Ariana were standing behind.

“Harry, Ariana, away from there.” Dumbledore said his anger was still flaring.

It had been a long time since Ariana saw her father this angry. Ariana took Harry by the hand and led him behind the teachers and Headmaster. They stayed clear as Snape used his wand to open the chest. They slowly approached it. The real Moody was sitting at the bottom of it.

“Are you alright, Alastair?” Dumbledore asked.

“I’m sorry, Albus.” The real Moody said.

“If that’s Moody then who’s…” Harry trailed off as he looked at the imposter.

Ariana handed the flask to Snape. “It’s Polyjuice Potion.”

Snape took a whiff of the flask as well. The smell filled his nostrils. “She’s right.” Snape said, looking at Dumbledore.

“Well, we know who’s stealing from your stores, Severus.” Dumbledore said.

As the imposter transformed back into his actual form. Harry's curiosity got the best of him.

“Bartley Crouch Jr.” Dumbledore said, holding Harry back.

Junior turned his attention to the young witch who stood behind her mother. “Hello pretty lady.” He said, smiling.

It was like a light bulb went off in her head. “It was you at the Black Lake! Not Dimitri!”

“Very nice, Ariana. You should be proud of your daughter Dumbledore. She’s so submissive.” Junior said, laughing menacingly.

“You asshole..…” Snape was ready to attack, but Dumbledore stopped him.

“Minerva, send an owl to Azkaban. I think they will find they are missing a Prisoner.” Dumbledore said. McGonagall nodded her head, she scurried out of the office.

“I will be welcome back as a hero.” Junior said.

“Is that so? Frankly, I don't have time for heroes.” Dumbledore said as he led Ariana and Harry out.

Snape pressed his wand into the cheek of Junior as his blood boiled. This man harmed his girl.

"Cedric Diggory was murdered. By Lord Voldemort!"

At those words, Ariana gripped Harry's hand. Harry squeezed hers back for comfort. She ended up resting her forehead against his shoulder as she cried softly. Harry used his other hand to stroke her hair.

"I'm sorry Ariana." Harry whispered.

"It's alright, Harry." Ariana whispered back, placing a kiss to Harry's cheek.

Once his speech was over, Dumbledore dismissed everyone. McGonagall went up to hug her husband. She taught Cedric for 7 years. He was not only a model student, but a talented wizard.

"There there Minnie. Shh…." Dumbledore said, quietly.

"Mummy." Ariana said, sadly.

McGonagall pulled back from her husband. Just enough so Ariana could hug both of her parents.

Snape startled the young witch as he hugged her from behind. He placed a kiss on her cheek. Ariana placed her hands on Snape’s arm as they watched the schools head back.

“You two seemed to have made up.” Dumbledore teased. He had his arm wrapped around McGonagall as he leaned against the side of school.

"I think the distance did us good." Ariana smiled. She turned to place a kiss on the Potions Master's cheek.

Snape let go of Ariana so she could go be with the other Gryffindors.

“By the way, Severus. I am sorry about your break up with Charity.” McGonagall said.

“It’s fine. We just realized we are just too different people.” Snape said.

“I hope it doesn’t bother either of you still being at the same school.” Dumbledore said.

“No it’s alright. We’re still friends.” Snape said.

“Charity didn’t seem too upset by it either.” McGonagall said.

“For once Draco, can it hurt you to actually be nice?” Ariana asked, getting ready to head back up the stairs.

“Why would I be nice to a bunch of Gryffindors?” Draco asked, glaring at Ariana.

“You’re nice to Ariana.” Ron stated matter of factly.

“She’s different, Weasley.” Draco said.

“How am I different?” Ariana asked.

“I grew up with you.” Draco said.

Arianna raised an eyebrow as she looked at Snape who just shrugged. She turned her attention back to Draco, but before she could say anything, Hermione answered for her.

“This wouldn’t have to do with you liking Ariana. Does it, Malfoy?”

“Hermione!” Ariana exclaimed. Her cheeks turned a little red.

Snape tensed at this. He bit his tongue to keep his temper down. No matter how badly he wanted to harm the poor boy.

“Come on, let's head back to the common room. I need to finish packing.” Ron confessed. He headed up the stairs with Harry.

“How are you not packed yet? We leave tomorrow!” Hermione said, groaning.

“He’s a procrastinator, Hermione. He waits till the last minute.” Ariana said as she followed her friends.

Ariana turned her head to look back at the three most important people in her life who were smiling back at her. She then hurried down the hall to catch up with her friends.

Notes:

I apologize that Harry wasn't in the hospital when Snape brought her in. In my mind he was preparing for the last task or he didn't notice Snape bringing in Ariana. Harry is definitely a good friend though.
