Notes:

This is my first work on this fandom. I hope that you would like it. Also English is not my first language, So if you found some grammar mistakes don't come to me like bulls to point out my mistakes. If you do, not in the negative way.

Chapter Text

He had really thought that nothing bad is going to happen as long as the four of them worked together, something that worked really well. Arisu had forgotten about the whole betrayal thing. Not that he would really call it that. Everything is permitted in Borderland if its means survival. And Chishiya wanted to survive, he didn't have anything with Arisu. So yeah. Arisu had put that in the past. But Usagi didn't. She was still bitter about the whole thing. But he decided to ignore her. Like he was doing now. The woman was looking at him, as he was stitched her side, expecting for him to stab her with the needle or something.

The four of them were forced to play in the games because their visa was expiring. Unfortunately, they had been separated into two groups, two games. Chishiya would have wanted to be with Kuina. Hell, even Arisu was a better partner. But unfortunately, he had been stuck with Usagi and Arisu was with Kuina. The game hadn't been hard. But the other players they had been stuck with, were difficult. They had to walk, on a small catwalk, balanced, solving riddles at the same time. If you had it wrong, the walls were getting closer to you. There had been 20 riddles with 30 seconds of solving per each. Everything had gone well until some of them were either twisted or wrong. They had managed to get to the exit, in time but they still got nicked by the walls. And not any kind of wall. But one full of spears. They managed to not get impaled. But Usagi had got a cut on her side. One that was stitching now. He himself had gotten cut in a few parts, but he didn't say anything and covered it up. He hates to be vulnerable in Kuina's presence. Like hell, he would be in Usagi or Arisu's presence. After he would finish with her, he would treat his own injury, in the privacy of the bathroom.

The four of them, before going to the games, decided to stay in two rooms at one of the abandoned hotels, in case of injury. It was better to treat themselves in a room than in the wild.

After he had finished with the last stitch, he had bandaged the wound as tightly as possible, to protect the stitches, before he grabbed a syringe from the bedside table and injected it in the woman's arm. "Antibiotics", he said when he saw her look. He had given her pills before he started the procedure.  This was to prevent an infection. He knew that he had cleaned the wound. But you can't be too sure.

"Where did you get all this?"

"I raided a pharmacy before I went in the subway with Kuina". That's all he told her. He also refused to say where he knew what is what, how he knew how to use them and how come his stitches job is so clean and perfect.

After he had been finished with Usagi, Chishiya was about to go in the bathroom, to treat his own injuries when the door, to the room, he was sharing with Arisu opened, and Kuina stumbled inside, supporting Arisu.

"Arisu!" Usagi immediately jumped to help them. She was still wary of Chishiya, but she likes Kuina. Chishiya sighed and he walked to help. He removed Arisu from her and he laid him in the bed, Usagi doing the same with Kuina.

Chishiya frowned at the amount of blood he could see and he lifted Arisu's shirt, to see a bullet wound on his side that was still bleeding. Looking at him, he saw that he was unconscious already. Then looking at his best friend, he could see that she had passed out as well. He moved to her and he could see a similar wound on her leg. How she managed to walk from the arena till here, carrying Arisu too, was a wonder.

Fuck it, he wasn't prepared for this. And his wounds were starting to pain him pretty badly.

"Go in the kitchen and boil some water and in it two smaller knives and scissors."He told Usagi as he inspected the wounds.

Normally Usagi would have asked for what. But looking at the situation, she stood up and left the room. Chishiya rubbed his face before he cleaned both wounds as best as he could. And after he inspected them both, he realized that the bullets were inside the wounds.

He grabbed some painkillers and dissolved them before he injected them in both Arisu and Kuina. He doesn't have any anesthetic. So this would have to do. Looking at his hands, he realized that they were shaking and he urged them to stop. He didn't know if its from the pain or from nervousness. He had never done this before. Neither as a med student, in the normal word, and neither when he got here. The worst thing that he had done, had been stitches and resetting bones.

Pressing on Arisu's side around the wound, he was glad that the bullet hadn't touched anything vital, and hadn't touched his ribs either. Then moving to Kuina he was glad again to see that the bullet hadn't shattered her bones from her leg.

Minutes later Usagi returned with a steaming pot, where he knew that the instruments were there.

"Do you know what are you doing?"She asked when she saw him pulling the knives and scissors, out on a towel and wiping them dry.

"I hope"

"Well that's reassuring", she said as she looked worriedly at Arisu.

Chishiya ignored her and he handed her one of the knives and scissors. "What?"

"I'm taking care of Arisu because his wound is more badly. And you are going to take care of Kuina."

"What?"She asked shocked and Chishiya could see that her hands were starting to shake. He rolled his eyes and he snatched the items back annoyed. "Fine. Then I will do it alone. You can't do anything if your hands are shaking.

"No, wait. I will do it. But I don't know how." She knows how to treat an infection or stitch a wound. Though not as good as Chishiya. Not that she would admit that.

Chishiya sighed. "Fine. Then I will guide as much as I could"

Usagi nodded and she grabbed the instruments before she walked to Kuina's side and she clenched her hands to make them stop shaking.

Chishiya took a deep breath before he started to work on work on Arisu and at the same time guided Usagi too. It was difficult and at some point he stopped talking, to focus more on Arisu, hoping that she would manage alone from there. The procedure was difficult because he didn't have the necessary instruments and he had to do with the bare minimum. He stopped a couple of times to check on Arisu's pulse, urging Usagi to do the same with Kuina, even though her procedure wasn't very life-threatening. But better safe than sorry.

After two hours he took a deep breath when he managed to find the bullet. Earlier he had ripped a sheet, that he had used to wipe the blood away, and on the floor, there were many bloody parts of the sheet. After he had stitched the wound and bandaged it, he went to inspect Usagi's work.

"Good job", he said tiredly. And surprisingly the woman looked at him and she smiled. "I couldn't have done it without your instructions. Thank you". Chishiya nodded and dissolved more painkillers and injected them into Arisu and Kuina, followed by the antibiotic that had given Usagi too...

" How did you know what to do?"Usagi asked as she helped Chishiya clean the floor of the bloody rags.

"I didn't. Like I said. I hope I knew what I was doing?"

Usagi rolled her eyes. "To me, it looked like you knew what you were doing"

"Not your business", he snapped. Usagi was taken aback. From the time she had met him, he had never heard him snap. He was always calm and smiling. Always indifferent.

"I'm going to take a shower. Don't disturb me if it's not s life or death situation", he said as he stood up and walked in the bathroom, adjoined to the bedroom, slamming the door close.

"He was a med student"Usagi jumped when she heard Kuina's voice and she turned to see her awake.

"You are awake?"

"Hard to sleep when it's too much noise", she said as she stood up in a sitting position with a grimace. Usagi walked to help her and leaned her against the headboard.

"Sorry. How are you feeling?"

"I will live. How's Arisu?"She asked as she turned her attention to the boy on her other side.

"He would be fine. Thank God. I was worried. Thank you for bringing him back"

Kuina shrugged. "We are a team. It would be stupid to leave each other behind. And considering that you are still here, Chishiya must think the same"

"To my surprise, I think that you are right"

Kuina sighed. "I know that you are still mad about what happened on the Beach. But I assure you that if you will got to know him better, you would realize that Chishiya is not a bad guy."

"Let's not talk about this now. You said that he used to be a med student? How do you know this?"

"He told me. A while ago. And I know that after he told me that, he must have regretted it. "

"Why?"

"Prepare yourself. It's not a happy story."
