Mirabel did chores in between of doing as the townspeople, her legs and arms ached, as did her back. She hoped that abuela would let up on her birthday, and allow her to celebrate all day instead of a few hours, but noo, the townspeople needed her to round up the donkeys, all because they wouldn't fix their fucking fence.
God she was so tired, she just wanted to go home and enjoy what was supposed to be her day off. She was starting to crack under the pressure, abuela wouldn't listen to her, just telling her, "Its for the sake of the town Mirabel. For our Encanto"
Fuck the Encanto, her Mami always said to make time for yourself, but Mirabel couldn't do that, she didn't want ro let everyone down.
But then again, some nights she would return home so sore that not even her Mami's cooking could make her feel better. She never told her Mami that though. Mirabel's shoulders were very tense that morning, her older sister, Luisa, had been pestering her all morning about what she had seen the night of her primo's, Antonio, Gift ceremony. "NOTHINGS WRONG!" Mirabel seemed to roar out, although Luisa was taller than her by alot, Mirabel could easily pick her up and place her to the side, "ah... sorry, sorry, Mirabel's fine, the magics fine, I'm totally not nervous" Mirabel rambled on, her eye twitched.
But... was she fine?
