Work Text:
Drop held a bit of a grudge against Icy. She had escaped from Drop once before, and now she was interfering.
There was not an ounce of regret when she had swung the shears at Icy’s head. She didn’t know it was Icy when she did that but it didn’t matter, she was going to die for seeing her.
The fact it was Icy? That was simply a bonus.
Icy was always going to die by Drop’s hands, her brave actions to try and hinder Youko’s death has only pushed her forward on the hit list.
Maybe Youko would live another day.
But in exchange, Icy wouldn't.
The woman had been thrown off her feet by the hit, it didn’t stop her for long.
Drop found herself bewildered when Icy proceeded to jump on her back, her taller form left her struggling to balance or throw her off. Icy’s hold was desperate.
Was she stupid for not running?
Adjusting her grip on the shears, unwilling to drop them. Drop threw her body weight backward, letting gravity pull them down.
“Fuck!”
Icy shrieked, a groan of pain followed. Her voice was hoarse.
Drop rolled off of her, the older woman’s grip had gone weak from the impact.
Both of them were breathing hard, adrenaline rushing through them. A more desperate intensity in Icy’s, she knew that a single wrong move would have her dead, call it instinct, she believes it.
“I’m going to kill you.”
Her voice was low and filled with promise. Perhap it was anger that had her speaking out despite everything in her telling her not to, Drop couldn’t care less at this moment.
“Drop-?!”
So Icy remembered her, even after over a year.
The wind was cold and chilling. Goosebumps ran along her exposed arm.
Exposed?
Shit. Icy had managed to rip some of her sleeve off.
Clearly she’d underestimated her.
Drop wouldn’t make that mistake again.
Running at Icy, she noticed the way the other automatically slid into a more secure position. Ready to fight. Clicking her tongue, Drop knew this would be tougher than the other times.
A straight kick aimed at her stomach? Drop expected more. Did Icy not know more than the basics?
Sliding to the side, Drop aimed her own kick at Icy. While balancing was harder with the shears, she knew she’d be able to do it. Easily manifesting the perfect landing worked as Icy was hit hard against her neck. It sent her tumbling onto the street.
Icy was up again in seconds. Well damn, she was resilient.
How annoying. Has Drop gotten weak?
Her next kick connected with Drop’s arm, it threw her slightly sideways.
Perhaps Icy was simply stronger.
Infuriating.
Jabbing the shears towards Icy, she crowded her to a more secluded area. Icy followed along, wary of the shears. As soon as she saw an opening she went to kick them out of Drop’s hold, only Drop knew she’d do that and had been watching for any twitch, any move she made, Drop expected it.
Swinging the shear in an arc towards Icy had her tumbling hastily to avoid it. She hit the single street lamp that provided the only light.
Icy’s eyes dilated as the street lamp died and bathed them in darkness. It was the last clear view Drop had.
As they clashed again, it was far more uncoordinated, neither certain of the other's position. The fight was more brutal, both aiming to kill. Icy had apparently got with the program, only one of them would survive.
Drop knew it’d be her.
Icy was just number 4 on the kill list, her objective wouldn’t end here.
Finally a good whack to the woman’s head with the shears had her down. Drop wasn’t without injuries, but she won, just like she knew she would. Crouching, and using caution, Drop checked on Icy’s status. When everything pointed to her being dead, relief was her first emotion.
She wouldn't let everything stop here by not paying attention and being an idiot. She was careful to pick up and check any signs for anything that would identify her. Thankfully Icy had short nails which hadn’t picked up any of her skin or blood. Surprisingly from all the injuries she had, not a single one was open wounded. She’d be bruised like a peach for the next few days though.
Icy put up a good fight.
