Kaylin shook her head groggily. She could feel something tapping gently at her nose, and reached out to wrap her fingers around the small dragon’s nose. In retaliation, it bit her finger, though gently. Shakily, Kaylin managed to lever herself to her feet. She remembered….. she remembered…. She shook her head, trying to grasp memory. She couldn’t recall where she was. Or why. This room didn’t look familiar, and she couldn’t remember the last thing she had been doing. She looked around, confused. There was a floor, made of stone. Walls, and a door, also made of stone. She headed to the door, but before she could reach it, it swung open.
Standing in the door was a young woman. She was dressed in clothes similar to Kaylin’s. She looked almost like she was wearing a Sword’s uniform, although this was offset by the fact that Kaylin was absolutely certain that no Sword’s had an extra eye in the middle of their forehead. She looked at Kaylin and smiled softly.
“Hello Chosen. Kaylin. I’m glad you are awake.” Kaylin frowned at her, the voice sounded slightly familiar. “K-Kataya?” Kataya beamed. “You remember me! I wasn’t sure you would have. Gilbert bet that you wouldn’t. Now come, we must get you back home soon.”
She turned on her heel and beckoned, gesturing Kaylin out of the room.
“Where am I?” Kaylin asked, looking around.
“The future. The past. The present.” Kataya said, looking impish.
