Lena Luthor is beautiful, powerful, and self-involved.
Who else would force non-essential employees to attend a celebration party in her honor? So what if the food was plentiful and the bar open? It didn’t matter that all L-Corp employees were getting an early (paid) weekend.
All that mattered was that Lena was stunning, and smiling, and commanding everyone’s attention with ease. All fake. Everyone knew beautiful women were not to be trusted.
Ok, so it was possible Anissa Pierce was biased. Or just in a bad mood. Falling for someone, having them literally disappear on you, tracking them down, just to be rejected? Grace had taught Anissa well. The prettier they are, the more they will hurt you. And Lena Luthor with that face, money, and poise; heartbreaker.
Tipping the champagne glass back, Anissa finished her drink and walked outside the bar; time to stop obsessing about her boss.
