Work Text:
The way my soul fits yours is seamless,
You're pieces of a puzzle I never thought I'd place.
My palms burn, I'm lit up from the inside,
My chest hurts, every word of the heart a fist around mine,
And the presence of you casts on my thoughts an almost blinding light.
Your voice caresses the shape of my silences, and my sighs drink it with no rest.
You are home, and the truth a lasso around my chest,
I could burst, I come alive, as you quiet my pain and sing into the night.
I never gave myself to one but I'm already yours.
Two halves of the same, a star burning, free of fear and shame,
And you follow me around,
Living in my brain like the most comforting shadow
Fear is when you slip away, when the sun and my blood taste dimmed and grey, and my shell is hollow
Love is the fuel, love is the cruel pang in my mind at the mention of you
Agape I breathe, alone is all I have, pain is my thirst and my faith is made of you
All hope burns and rises again, an endless fire that is the rhythm of us
Love is weak, and love I deflect for it always erect another form of conflict
Words are too silent and tiny a frame
For what under my skin you pour, new languages with no names
That only the space between us can speak, and without you all is bleak.
