Untamed Sentiment

Summary:

When Queen Toriel had announced unexpected guests, Sans hadn't realized just how unanticipated the monsters truly were. The skeleton knew they were an anomaly, rougher versions of himself and his brother. What he hadn't expected was both of them to be Alphas. To top it all off, Edge and Red seem to be very interested in courting him, a rare Omega.

Welp, this was going to be a fascinating experience. It's not like Sans wasn't already keeping an eye on the tentative peace Frisk was brokering with the humans. Sans would entertain the odd notion. It's not like anything could come out of it, right?

Chapter Text

'We have some…unique guests, Sans. Could you and your brother possibly help them settle in?'

Toriel's gentle voice had held an odd note of hesitation but Sans had shaken it off. Monsters tended to run on the 'unique' side and many of them required help with adjusting to life on the Surface. Of course he had responded in the affirmative, Toriel was a dear friend and his little brother would be over the moon to help any and everyone.

An easy decision. Though Sans was often lazy, he was still an Omega and still had that innate instinct to take care of others. Not a shocking thing, seeing as he had happily raised Papyrus with no regrets.

Sure! The small skeleton had responded, whatever you need, Tori!

With the two monsters on his doorstep, he was also reminded, Omega or no, that the universe enjoyed fucking with him.

Two white pins of light, trailed up and up to take in these tall monsters. The first thing he had noticed had been that these two unexpected visitors were skeletons. He and Papyrus were certainly the only ones of that Type remaining, Sans had checked.

The second realization was that they were very tall, a trait usually possessed by Alphas. For a good moment, he was sure the smaller visitor was a Beta because his height was comfortably at a middle point. But a deeper inhale from Sans revealed that assumption false, both of their scents were unmistakably Alpha.

The third observation was one his Judgement ability made on instinct. These two skeletons had LOVE and they both looked battle hardened. Their bones had scars and their way of dress was geared to warn others away or be sorry.

The fourth point that came with the last as it revealed their names in their stats. Oh what the fuck, had someone found his machine? Had Alphys been messing with the Core?

And as he was keenly observing them, they were both doing it right back. Both seemed absolutely floored by Sans' very existence and it was laughable that he couldn't tell if that was because he was another 'Sans' or because he was the only Omega skeleton in existence.

Or he should still be. Damn it, the small monster would have to check his basement. This was surely a Situation.

"heya, i'm sans the skeleton. odd pickle we're in, seeing as you are also a sans and you are a papyrus. still, tori vouched for you so please, come in." He stood aside but they didn't come in, their focus now behind Sans and near the ceiling.

Ah. He didn't even need to look. Smiling, he motioned behind him and continued speaking,"this is my little brother, papyrus."

Sans watched with amused eye-lights as there was the usual ’sizing up' done between Alphas and held in his snort when both skeletons offered Papyrus that nod.

You know, that 'I recognize and brutishly respect an equal' that went on between Alphas. Welp, that was going to be an amusing thing to watch develop.

Seeing as Papyrus was extremely tall, most assumed he was an Alpha and Paps never corrected them. As soon as the monster had hit his growth spurt, it became a fun game. No, his sweet but mischievous sibling was a Beta through and through. It would take a quick scent testing to reveal that and they never did learn.

"Ah, yes! Please come inside, Queen Toriel told us to expect you! My name is Papyrus!"

After getting the 'okay' from 'The Alpha of the House', the strangers came inside as Sans hid his snort behind a cough. Secondary dynamics and the instincts could be hilarious fun.

"Yes, your Queen is too giving. We appreciate the welcome. I am called Edge and this is my older brother and mate, Red."

Sans exchanged a puzzled glance with his sibling. Mate? But they were brothers. Even more than that both monsters were Alphas.

"hey." Red's greeting was full of sharp teeth and his scent becoming heavier in wordless warning. Sans smiled back and held in his instincts to flinch, damn Alpha posturing.

"Oh! It is obvious you two are not from around here! What an odd custom!"

"don't usually see two alphas bonded." Sans cut in, making clear to Papyrus that they would not mention the incest. Uncommon with monsters but absolutely taboo with humans. Red's shoulders relaxed and Sans realized there must be some bitter feelings there. The other monster did have the opposite problem of his own sibling.

Not that they bothered to confirm that, heh.

Sans was used to being the shortest in the room, spare a few other monster genotypes. He came up to low spine on Papyrus and Edge, though Edge was a tiny bit shorter. On Red though, Sans came up to his chest.

Red was just barely shoulder height with his sibling…and mate. That would take some getting used to but the Omega wasn't disgusted by it. After all, it only became taboo with the humans when they figured out it was harming their offspring. Being made from magic nulled that issue.

Besides, his Omega didn't listen to social norms. It was purring over there being more skeletons. Wait, what?! Sans swallowed the physical purr that had been threatening to escape and stamped furiously on his Omega instincts.

Edge and Red were staring at him, making no attempts to hide that they were taking in his scent. He lifted a bony brow at them.

"rude. got something you wanna say?"

A good test. Omega were sometimes treated as lesser and Sans wanted to know exactly where these two stood seeing as they could be dangerous.

Shockingly, both Alphas had the decency to back down and apologize. A promising start considering Edge and Red looked like they were from a rough background.

"I apologize, Sans. It is a simple fact that we have not seen many Omega at all." Edge told him and Sans hummed in understanding.

"we've never seen a skeleton omega, neither." Red piped up and boy, did that brutally punch the elephant in the room. In fact, it was probably dead from being jacked right in the face.

Subtle as an Alpha in Rut.

"Fancy mentioning that!" Papyrus crowed, always the peacemaker,"Sans is the only skeleton Omega we know!"

"is he yers?"

Now the elephant's corpse had been desecrated and lit on fire. Stars! Did Red have any tact!? Papyrus only laughed it off, his awesome brother, as Sans' only reaction had been to lift his other bony brow in silent shock.

"No, Sans isn't attached to any Alpha! I do take care of him and look after him. I trust you'll treat him with the respect he deserves! He raised me and I am protective of him!"

Both Alphas straightened and did that 'nod of respect ' thing at Papyrus.

"Of course, Omega are to be treated gently. You have nothing to fear from us regarding him." Edge looked at Sans and he held his breath at the complex sharp gaze. That's odd, he could usually read expressions better. Sans looked at Red to find the same look.

Great. The other monster learned subtlety all of a sudden.

"Wonderful! I am guessing you both need a crash course on the Surface! Let's sit down and begin!"

Chapter Text

They had all filed into the kitchen and sat at the table, both pairs of brothers sitting next to their siblings and watching each other. Papyrus had offered to cook but that offer was cut down with a curiously strong reaction of embarrassment. Strange but then that was unsurprising. Everyone present knew the truth without it needing to be explained. 'They weren't from around here' was an understatement. Of course there would be huge cultural differences.

They were here to at least fill in the side of Surface dwelling with humankind.

"Humans and monsters are very different but it is good to remain polite around them. They can be formidable opponents due to their stronger souls and physicality." Papyrus was interrupted by Edge, whose scowl had grown harsher.

"Are the humans aware that they are stronger than us?"

Ah, of course that was important. But more so with monsters that were clearly more used to fighting than sparing their opponents. They would have to work on their resting 'I'll murder you' faces.

"no, it was a decision made when we first emerged that little to no information would be shared on the subject of souls. namely the truth that we have the ability to take and absorb theirs, seeing as that started our last war," Sans tilted his skull and shrugged,"there are laws in place on where and how we can use our magic. encounters are only allowed under professional supervision and under no circumstance should a conflict be started."

"so we have all these fucking rules and regulations. what about the humans?" Red growled, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Oh, they have laws on them in return! A lot of them are tied to our Secondary Dynamics since humans never manifest as a Alpha, Beta or Omega."

"... seriously?"

Sans snorted at the brothers, which drew their attention,"paps is telling the truth. so the laws are to protect our rights. namely on the topic of bonded mates and the instincts attached. a lot of them have lost their severity because of scent cancelers and pheromone blockers that have been developed."

Edge and Red were staring at him like he had just murdered a puppy. At least they were quick to talk.

"yer…what…fuck that!!!"

”I refuse to dull my instincts or scent," Edge glowered at the thought, more eloquent than his older sibling,"especially for those that cannot imagine what it is like."

Papyrus held up both hands in a peaceful gesture,"those products are not mandatory. It is only required for monsters that intend on working alongside or living with humans."

"good, because fuck 'em."

Sans shot both Edge and Red a hard look,"it's important that you keep in mind that humans are stronger and outnumber us. we're doing everything we can not to invite another war. we may be co-existing now but there are tensions we shouldn't test."

Both Alphas were glaring, not necessarily at Sans but his Omega wanted to apologize and submit. He clenched his teeth against the ingrained need and glowered right back up at them.

It was clear they suddenly didn't know what to do with Sans. Even if they hadn't seen many Omega before, one having a silent battle of domination with not one but two Alphas was unheard of.

However it was Papyrus, as was usual, that came to the rescue as he stood and stared down at the seated monsters and said the magic words,"you're being bad Alphas!"

Edge and Red darted their gazes up to Papyrus, aggression wiped away to be replaced with confused shame.

"We are not being…bad Alphas!" Edge had a mix of attempting to explain his actions as well as being deeply affected by the accusation.

These two were more deeply in touch with their wild instincts. Good to know.

”Sans and I have been here longer and know the rules. If your pride is more important than learning to exist with humans, you put Sans in danger and I will not allow that."

Oh no… His sibling's expression had that sheen of mischievous conniving and Sans wasn't sure this information needed to be sha-

"My brother is delicate. He has only one HP!" The kitchen fell silent as the Beta surveyed the aftermath of his words. Both Edge and Red had whipped around to stare at Sans in mute shock. The small skeleton sighed and shot Papyrus a look, but the other monster was satisfied playing with their double's instincts.

His sibling could be brutal in this case, especially if it was to benefit Sans.

The downside was dealing with those same instincts as an Omega.

"...one…. did yer say one hp?!" Red finally choked out, murderous resting face gone and now lit up with shock and horror. Edge wasn't doing much better himself, staring at Sans with slightly widened sockets, like he was waiting for a punchline. One that wasn't coming.

"go on." Sans sighed out, giving his permission and then his soul swelled as dual checks hit him. Then two more.

Check. Check. Check. Check.

Sans' eye-lights rolled, suffering through the endless checks before snapping,"fucking stop! did you two have a stroke?! what's your damage!?"

A pause.

CHECK.

His sockets narrowed and his eye-lights shrank at Red but he swallowed his incoming tirade because it was clear both Alphas were in shock.

"Are you going to be good and listen to what we're saying now?" Papyrus asked in a voice that suggested he would throw them out of their home if not.

"yeah…"

"Understood."

There were those expressions Sans couldn't read on the brothers' faces again. Papyrus sat back down and smiled widely.

"Brilliant! So what are we not going to do?"

"Pick fights with the humans," Edge growled out, not happy with the situation.

"look, we don't like it as much as you but it's necessary for our continued existence alongside humankind. any questions?" Sans asked, allowing his compassion for their struggles to show in his eye-lights.

"yea…how the fuck have yer survived with one shitty hp?" Red questioned gruffly.

Sans sighed, his expression falling into annoyance,"to clarify, any questions dealing with living alongside humankind?"

Surprisingly, Edge did have questions. In fact, he suddenly had a ton of them. How many humans were there? What exactly were the laws? Where could they live where their instincts wouldn't be limited?

Papyrus shot up at that one and took out his phone, politely stepping out to call the Queen. Sans watched him go and returned to watching both Edge and Red.

They watched right back with avid crimson eye-lights.

For star's sake!

”go ahead." He sighed out. Edge uncrossed his arms and Red leaned forward a bit more.

"yer not wearing a collar."

Not quite a question. White eye-lights moved to take in the accessory around Red's neck. It was a mix of red and black leather, with gold spikes and hardware.

It didn't mean anything to the small monster but clearly it did to these siblings. He tilted his skull and decided to give into the curiosity his Omega had been humming with since their arrival.

"may I?" He questioned, pointing his phalanges at the collar. Red's expression screwed into puzzled confusion. Those eye-lights darted up to Edge before Red nodded, the silent conversation too fast for Sans to catch.

The small skeleton stood and rounded the table, noticing Red stiffen and Edge tracking his movements like a hawk. What did they think he was going to do?

"i'm just going to smell you," he soothed and that tension faded immediately. Red laughed and looked down at him.

"why yer need to ask?"

Sans shrugged,"it's considered polite in this universe, you fucking barbarian."

"feisty. come on, omega."

Sans flushed bright blue and glowered up at Red for daring to call to his instincts like that. They needed to learn some manners. Calling another by their Secondary Dynamics was intimate.

"are you done? i'm second guessing wanting to know your scent." He snapped and both Alphas went quiet, a new tension in the air that Sans had to feel out before realizing his threat affected them more strongly than he had anticipated.

Deciding to indulge, Sans leaned in close to Red, his nose aperture hovering just over the spiked leather. Odd, there were two strong scents here. The one on the collar smelled of paprika, a summer flame and pine.

The Omega tilted his skull to get closer to Red's vertebrae, taking in the scent of gasoline, lightning and ozone.

This was Red's scent.

His instincts filed it away in his soul and he inhaled around the collar again, eye-lights flashing over to Edge. The taller monster silently offered Sans his wrist. Moving carefully, the skeleton leaned past Red and hovered over the offered appendage.

Sans inhaled delicately. Paprika, summer fire and pine.

This was Edge's scent and it was heavy on the collar Red wore. Realizing he was practically in Red's lap and well into Edge's space, Sans froze as he realized both Alphas were inhaling his scent in turn. He would usually push a monster away that tried this but Sans figured this was fair play. How could they not smell him when he was this close?

The skeleton knew his own scent. Snowfall, ozone and the sweetness associated with all Omega. He allowed it but he flinched when Edge's wrist gently nudged his vertebrae at the same time Red nudged his shoulder with his cheek.

Yanking away with a suspicious look, Sans didn't get to question them as Papyrus returned with a bright expression.

"I have a map to send you to your own home! Please take out your phones!" A double beep and the information was sent,"away from humans as requested! It is growing late so I urge you to check it out. If you have any more questions, you can return here."

A polite way to dismiss the Alphas, who seemed reluctant to leave. Still, they were shown the door and Sans watched Edge and Red go. Shutting the door, the small skeleton discovered Papyrus staring down at him with a thoughtful expression.

"what is it, paps?" He asked with gentle confusion, unable to keep back a fond smile.

Papyrus beamed,"nothing, brother! We should get started on dinner!"

Chapter Text

A knock on the door the next day woke Sans from a light doze he had been enjoying on the couch. He blinked his sockets before listening to the sounds in the home, realizing Papyrus was gone. Ah, that was right. His sibling had a booked schedule this week and would be gone most of the time.

The knock came again and the Omega sat up, reaching out with his Judge abilities because he wouldn't smell another this far from the closed door. More than recognizing the signature, he sighed raggedly before yelling at the monster from where he was curled up.

"fucking- red, what the hell are you doing here?!" It hadn't even been twenty hours yet! What could the monster need that a housecall was warranted?

"not gonna let me in?" The Alpha questioned gruffly through the wood, rough voice muffled. White eye-lights rolled and Sans turned over on the couch, laying on his ribs as he used blue magic to unlock and open the door. The Alpha blinked at him before smirking at his annoyed expression.

"come in, asshole. if you misbehave i'll be kicking your ass." He threatened as the taller skeleton passed the threshold and closed the door behind him. The 'snick' that followed revealed the monster had locked it.

"oh, i'd love to see yer do that." Sharp teeth raised in an eager smirk and Sans returned the expression with a bland raise of a bony brow.

"trust me, you really don't." He replied before sitting up properly,"why are you here?"

The Alpha's expression eased into a curious searching expression, the other monster listening and scenting the air before frowning outright,"where is yer bro?"

Sans blinked at the question and shrugged,"embassy work. paps is an ambassador and works with frisk and the queen."

"...yer here alone?!"

The sudden volume and panic took Sans by surprise, causing him to straighten his spine against the back of the couch. Right, he had to keep in mind these alternates were more wild than his own universal counterparts. A lot of their more feral behavior had been left behind over the centuries and Sans wasn't sure where Edge and Red stood.

"red, calm down. it's safe for me to be alone."

The Alpha let out a whine that hitched into a distressed growl,"yer have one fucking hp! yer need at least one guard!"

What the…?

"guards? i'm not royalty. hey, you gotta calm down. this universe is safer than your's, really." He tried in a soothing tone.

"yer an omega, more important than damn monster royalty." The Alpha began to pace the floor, scent becoming agitated. Sans flushed cyan at the unusual words. It was about time to ask some questions because his alternate was making him nervous.

"red, why are you here?"

The Alpha stopped pacing and peered down at the smaller skeleton with that unreadable expression,"yer not got an alpha or a pack. yer need to be protected!"

Sans squinted up at the Alpha,"...i don't need or want those things. have you considered that?"

Crimson eye-lights shrank and narrowed on the other,"yer lying."

What?

His silence prompted Red to spin in place and Sans hopped up to trail after the Alpha.

"what're doing, asshole?" Sans called, shocked as the tall skeleton began to search his house. Opening the fridge, counting the locks, checking both rooms and then pausing in the open door of Sans' room. The scrutiny made him fidget as those sharp eye-lights turned to look down at him.

"where's all the fucking blankets and pillows?"

Say what now?

Red gaped, sharp teeth exposed before he murmured in shock,"yer don't even…. wait here."

And just like that, Red vanished and Sans stared blankly at where the Alpha had been standing a moment previous. Okay, so that answered the question of whether his counterpart could take shortcuts or not. Just what the hell was going on?

His soul felt like it left his body a moment later when Red popped right back in, not alone.

"fuck!" Sans placed a hand on his chest and glowered up at both Edge and Red. Concern for him saturated their unique scents but he was far too angry at the intrusion.

Wait. Both Alphas were carrying an assload of blankets and pillows.

"what…" He tried weakly before both brothers marched to his bed with their ample armfulls and absolutely drowned the small bare mattress with what they had brought.

"Do you think this is enough?" Edge asked lowly and Red hummed before they were gone again. Wide empty sockets merely stared.

Okay…

Sans had to admit he had no idea what the brothers were doing but was he overreacting? They seemed to just be…bringing a lot of things for Sans' bed? Was this a weird housewarming type thing?

Annnd they were back. Now Sans couldn't see his mattress at all. Edge and Red finally turned to him and stared down at the skeleton with expectation. Sans blinked and decided not to ask anymore questions. The two Alpha were looking for some sort of approval.

Searching their expressions, Sans finally huffed a sigh. Fuck it, he would play along. The short monster approached his bed and touched the nearest pillow. He didn't even need to lean down, the pile was absolutely saturated with paprika, pine, flame, gasoline and ozone.

His phalanges found another blanket and he suddenly had the urge to touch everything. Sans climbed into the bed and began testing each fabric. The Omega began shifting things around and then picked up an especially soft pillow to rub his face against.

A rumbling sound caused Sans to blink and he flushed brightly when he realized that was HIM purring. Mortified, the skeleton attempted to reel it under control but couldn't stop himself.

Peeking up at both Alphas, Sans glowered but his purring didn't cease,"...what is this?"

Edge frowned down at the Omega,"materials for your Nest, Sans. It brings feelings of safety and contentment. I would think your world would already know this."

Nest? When was the last time he had even heard that term?

"we've phased out a lot of the more feral behavior of our secondary dynamics. a lot wasn't needed." He murmured absently, beginning to move things to his liking.

Red grinned,"maybe not needed, but yer purring so it must be wanted, yea?"

Sans hated that Red was right.

"what do i owe you for this?" The small Omega would at least pay the two Alphas back for these things his dynamic suddenly decided couldn't be taken away from him.

He stilled when a hand landed on his skull, petting him slowly. The purr thrumming a pitch higher, Sans looked up with widened eye-lights as Edge caressed his skull and trailed down to cup his small vertebrate. He held absolutely still, confused as Red did the same.

"We'll leave you to building your Nest." Edge told him in an oddly soft tone before both brothers turned and took the front door. The Omega stood still, hearing it lock back before looking down at all the pillows and blankets, his purr growing louder.

"i hate them," the Omega decided as he began to weave everything together with care.

Chapter Text

Sans heard the front door unlock and the cheerful voice of his brother rang out into the living room,"Sans! I'm-! Wait, where are you, brother!?"

"up here!" He yelled back and rolled over in the many pillows and blankets that his Omega had somehow known to weave together. Pillows on the outside for the border and everything wrapped and woven to make it perfect.

Papyrus stopped at his open door, eye sockets widening in shock,"wowee, brother. I have not seen you this relaxed in a very long time…"

Sans blinked at his sibling,"i'm relaxed all the time, paps."

"Untrue! You normally are up watching four different human news broadcasts at a time to keep 'socket out for trouble'." The tall skeleton made a face at the pun and then tilted his head,"and are you purring?!"

Sans froze.

Was he?

Fuck, he still was!

His younger sibling's face lit up with excited happiness,"oh, stars! You are! I haven't heard that for even longer than I haven't seen you truly relaxed!"

The small Omega blinked,"have i ever told you that your keen perception scares me sometimes, paps?"

"All the time, brother!!" The younger skeleton beamed and then hummed before he struck one palm with a gloved hand.

"I think you are being woo'ed, Sans!"

The Omega sat ramrod straight in his…dear stars, his Nest,"what?! no, paps! there is no 'woo'ing' being done!"

Papyrus squinted at him,"so your bedroom smells absolutely like Edge and Red, they provided you with many soft materials and one of them is standing guard outside-"

"what?! fuck!" Sans practically fell out of his Nest while Papyrus kept talking.

"-language, brother! And as I was saying, they are guarding outside and that isn't 'woo'ing'?"

Sans rushed past him, skull bright blue,"it isn't!"

"If you say so, Sans but I think you're wrong!" Papyrus sang as he chuckled all the way to his room, door closing as the Omega got to the front door, ready to chew Red out except…

Edge was the one standing outside, arms crossed over his chest and leaning against their home. Sans huffed, attempting to tame his speeding soul and that damned blush. Crimson eye-lights moved to take Sans in as he approached the tall Alpha.

"W-what are you doing here?" For some reason, it was easier to sass and curse at Red than it was to speak to Edge. Was it because Red was his alternate? Or maybe because Edge was clearly the 'Top Alpha' in their Pack?

"I am standing guard."

Such a simple but loaded statement, delivered with the utmost solemn tone. Sans stopped an arm's length away, eye-lights searching the taller monster.

"paps is home now…so, uh…that means you don't have to…stand guard."

Edge didn't move a single phalange, merely staring down at Sans with that unreadable expression that made something inside the smaller skeleton squirm.

"uh…. why are you doing this?" He tried and Edge merely kept up that look, attention solely on Sans.

"You are an unmated Omega without a Pack. This is customary."

That last sentence sounded more like 'This is non negotiable.' It bothered the Omega as he enjoyed separating himself from his secondary dynamic and instincts as much as possible.

At least, Sans had believed he did…?

No, he definitely liked being left to his own devices. No need for Nests, or purring or guarding.

"i have paps." He tried again, hoping to reason with Edge.

"That is not the same as having a Pack."

Sans stuffed his hands into his jacket pockets and glared, but it ended up directed at the ground as his Omega screamed at him to not look at the Alpha with that expression.

Fucking- He hated this.

"I apologize if you do not like the arrangement but my brother and I would rest easier knowing you were safe." Edge told him and Sans softened, though he still wanted to be upset. Especially since the Alpha was reading his mood by how bitter his scent has become. It lingered still but was faded.

"We do not trust the humans."

He didn't either.

"If they were to attack suddenly, is it not a given they would go after the monsters that can reproduce?"

Sans swallowed down his need to tell the Alpha that the skeleton wasn't sure he could carry. True, he was an Omega but he was a skeleton. Despite everything, he and Papyrus had no idea how their genus even existed. There were too few of them.

However, Edge was making sense from a battle standpoint.

"...yea, they would do that." He admitted with a sigh and Edge inclined his skull just barely.

"The chances of that occurring are too high for myself and my mate to accept. Thus, we will be taking watch."

That tone was so reasonable, so final that Sans found himself nodding reluctantly in acceptance. He knew how to choose his battles and this seemed like a hill the alternate brothers would die on. Gladly. Sighing, he rubbed the back of his neck and looked up at Edge.

"uh…about the nest. thank you?" Sans offered and Edge tilted his skull before nodding and waving the words away.

"No need for thanks, we were startled you did not have one. Does it invoke those feelings of safety and contentment?" The tall monster questioned, level tone tinged with curiosity.

Sans blinked in surprise but then remembered the fact that Edge and Red haven't seen many Omega before so the information was all they had.

"...it does." He admitted, looking away and missing the small smile Edge quirked down at him.

"Ah and you may want to stop threatening Red. Knowing my mate, he will see that as an opportunity to pin you down and fuck you into the floor."

A beat of shocked silence passed before Sans hastily turned to the door,"right! no! that just- i'mgoingtobedgoodnight!!"

Sans slammed the door and locked everything, leaning back against it and blushing hard into his hands.

Outside, Edge smirked outright with a pleased expression.

Chapter Text

It had been two weeks since the alternate brothers appeared in their universe and Sans could say that this entire experience was more unusual than it had to be. It seemed that even though Edge and Red had their own residence, they didn't spend much time there. One or the other were playing bouncer outside their home. They definitely were serious about guarding Sans.

The small Omega knew he wasn't trapped in the house, he could take shortcuts after all. But he had taken to spending the most time in his Nest. Instead of watching television on the couch, Sans had borrowed Papyrus' radio and listened to the broadcasts from the safety of the structure. The calming effect made the experience more bearable.

At the very least, the ongoing news of unrest and opposing rights movements didn't make his soul pound.

Sans was anything but unintelligent. Even though it had been two years since they emerged from the Underground, their footing as citizens on the Surface was still shaky.

He had learned from his time with Frisk just how cruel or beautiful a human soul could be, after all. That was just one human child. There were over seven billion humans on the Surface and still around one thousand monsters.

Outnumbered was a hilarious understatement.

…Perhaps having Edge and Red standing guard wasn't as bad as Sans had thought? He did have an unhealthy amount of stubborn disregard for his own life.

Still…

What Edge had said still lingered heavily enough that the Omega was keeping limited contact with the other brothers. He definitely was avoiding Red like the plague, the other's amused eye-lights following him whenever he dared to stand in the door when saying goodbye to Papyrus.

Papyrus was also being insufferable about the whole ordeal. Sans adored his younger sibling but dear stars it was difficult to endure the teasing.

He heard a faint knock from downstairs and the small monster sighed, turning the radio off and teleporting to the front door.

Inhaling, the Omega tensed upon scenting both brothers. But that wasn't all he could make out which is what had him opening the front door with less hesitation than normal. It was still a sight, both Alphas taking up the entirety of the entryway. White eye-lights moving up, Sans discovered the source of the delicious scent.

Red had a bag from Grillby's and Edge had a covered dish.

Opening the door wider, Sans sighed and motioned with his skull,"come in." He didn't want to provoke either Alpha, especially when it seemed they had come to share a meal. One didn't sass another when they bore food. He was sure there was a rule like that somewhere.

"nice." Red grinned a sharp smile and Edge wordlessly followed the shorter monsters to the kitchen table. Sans sat at the table and watched curiously as the food was spread out. A burger was placed in front of him and Red took the other, a basket of fries settled halfway between them. The dish Edge brought turned out to be lasagna, it smelled really good.

Using blue magic, Sans got out three plates and utensils.

"do yer have mustard?" Red questioned and Sans hummed, using his magic to fetch both that and his ketchup, though he only had mustard and relish for when he was selling 'dogs.

"You have excellent control of your blue magic," Edge told him and Sans averted his gaze at the praise.

"uh, thank you." He managed and blinked, realizing both siblings were waiting. Figuring Edge was waiting for the verdict on his lasagna, the short skeleton picked up a fork and took a bite of the pasta.

The explosion of flavor was pleasant and Sans hummed in approval, flicking his gaze up to meet Edge's.

"this is really good." He praised and then tilted his head. Though both Alphas hadn't outwardly changed expression, their combined scents were now saturated with a rich tone that had his soul speeding up.

…What was that?

"I am glad you enjoy my lasagna, Sans." Edge said, tone deep and pleased. A shiver went through the Omega and he took another bite before unwrapping his burger.

Mm, Grillby's was as amazing as always. He squirmed under the heavy gazes of both siblings before they too began to eat. However they never stopped watching him for even a second.

"not to be rude but is there a particular reason for this visit?" The Omega questioned in a quieter tone, attempting to crush down his need to be defensive.

"yer have been avoiding us. we don't wanna continue like this."

Sans blinked his sockets in shock, though he wasn't too shocked they had noticed. Red and Edge were just as perceptive as Papyrus, if not more so.

"i…then how do you wanna continue?" The Omega asked while pausing over his meal. Edge motioned between them.

"This, for a start. Feeding you is a pleasurable experience."

Sans hesitated and then furrowed his bony brows before realization struck. Shit, that was a literal statement. That rich scent was…arousal? Or something close!

He flushed a bright blue, unable to censor his words,"oh fuck, you're joking. you two…get off on something like this?"

Maybe he should have turned the food down but how was Sans supposed to know this?!

"providing for yer is totally fap material." Red purred and Sans placed his fork down with a clatter, sockets widening.

"Red." Edge growled and both smaller monsters shrank into themselves at the Alpha's reprimand,"it is true that providing food is a borderline intimate gesture where we are from. However, we do not want you to shy away from us. Which includes behaving in a more chivalrous manner. Is that not correct, my mate?"

Red lost his teasing expression, skull smoothing into a serious face that Sans hadn't seen yet,"apologies. i can't help myself sometimes."

Wow, no cussing. They were both very serious. It made the Omega straighten in his chair.

"i'm not used to alphas focusing on me." He offered in response to why he had been avoiding them.

"I thought as much. Have you never been courted before?"

The world seemed to slow down as the Omega processed Edge's words. 'Courted…before?' Meaning…. His eye-lights shrank and he leaned back.

"is..that what's happening?"

Both siblings glanced at each other before Edge spoke and his words seemed delicately picked,"my mate and I would very much be honored if you allowed us to court you."

Sans couldn't believe it. Papyrus had been right, they were attempting to 'woo him'. Conflicting emotions and instincts waged war inside the Omega and his panic must have bled into his scent because Edge continued gently.

"You can turn us down and stop us at any point. We merely wish for you to think about the possibility."

Sans lowered his gaze to the table,"if this is because i'm an Omega, you might want to reconsider. i never figured out how skeletons are born and there is a good chance i may not be able to carry children. if that's-"

"yer not just a damn baby factory, sans. while it would be fucking awful if yer couldn't, that's because yer own instincts would tear yerself apart over it. while being an omega pleases our own instincts, we want yer safe and happy."

That was the most words Sans had heard from Red in one sitting. Definitely the most polite as well. Speechless, the shorter monster looked between the siblings.

"but that's your instincts as alphas calling the shots. believe me, i'm not mate material." He insisted and Edge tilted his head.

"Hence the courting process. Let us decide that for ourselves. If you are not 'mate material', we could call it off."

Sans blinked and looked down at the table. Red was done eating already, leaving most of the fries. Edge finished his plate as the Omega was lost in thought.

"You can take your time coming to a decision. Just think about it." Edge soothed and Sans flinched when both monsters stood. They slowly rounded the table and he held still as first Edge and then Red nuzzled against his skull.

His wide sockets watched as both Alphas took their leave, the house quiet and feeling empty now they were gone.

Chapter Text

Three days later found Sans in his Nest, laying on his back as he held Papyrus' radio in his hands. The volume was turned low as he listened to one of the many human news anchors covering yet another clash down by the Monster Embassy. Thankfully it was a relatively small event and local authorities had been able to stop the riot. It hurt that it had begun as a peaceful protest until some assholes decided to show.

He had been quiet since the alternate brothers had proposed the idea of a courtship and his younger sibling had noticed his change in behavior. Sans knew the silence would be broken soon and likely tonight as Papyrus was getting home early for once.

The problem was that the small skeleton had yet to come to a firm conclusion. The idea of courting, mating and bonding was still alien to the Omega. After ignoring his dynamic for so long and already focusing on raising Papyrus, Sans hardly entertained the idea. Why go through all that trouble if the small skeleton wasn't sure the monster genus he was even could reproduce? Better to be blissfully ignorant than setting off his Omega instincts and being crushed.

But the bonded brothers had been clear that wasn't their main motivation. Stars, brother. Alternates of him and his own sibling. Sans wouldn't even dwell over it, it was bad enough that they wanted to court him at all. Throwing in the quantum fuckery just added too many layers to consider.

Though Sans himself was confused, his Omega instincts were humming with delight. They were thrilled at the thought of two strong Alpha monsters wanting to court and claim him. The Nest was already strongly appreciated and the thought of more provided meals certainly didn't hurt.

His Omega wanted Edge and Red to prove to him that they were worthy and that to Bond with them would provide a Pack and children.

Even without those instincts, Sans was sure he wanted children. Raising Papyrus had been a joy for him.

The door downstairs closed with the small monster hearing a "goodnight, Red!" Then his brother was calling for him.

"Sans, are you in your Nest? Are you awake?"

The skeleton turned down the volume on the radio until it was barely noticeable,"yeah, i'm up!" He answered and waited, listening to heavy footsteps climbing the stairs.

Papyrus peered into the crack of the door and then beamed, pushing it the rest of the way open and Sans couldn't help but return the expression with fondness.

"hey, bro. how was your day?" He questioned and to his horror, the smile dropped a bit as Papyrus sighed, opening the door. The Beta tentatively pointed to his older brother's Nest.

"May I…join you?" The question was hesitant and Sans listened to his inner Omega. It wholeheartedly welcomed what the skeleton viewed as his own child and he nodded to show his consent.

"sure." He offered with a smile.

Papyrus beamed and carefully got into the Nest, making sure not to disturb Sans' work. A short purr rumbled in the Omega's chest before he cut it off.

"I am sure you already know about the protest today," the tall skeleton shot the radio a knowing glance and Sans nodded with a deepening frown,"some humans got hurt, on both sides. I just thought…"

His sibling trailed off and Sans waited with a patient expression while the Beta gathered himself.

"I just thought that after two years, the humans would feel more settled and agreeable. While we have a lot of excellent human advocates, the people against us are just too…loud. If most humans were allies, I would feel better."

Sans nodded in understanding, showing his complete agreement. Most humans were neutral or wanted to stay out of it. He could imagine a lot of humans, especially in other countries that still thought monsters weren't real simply because they had never seen one in person before.

Sans hated politics and the stress that came with it but he cared too much not to pay attention. His diligent watch over the news said as much without him having to say a word.

"i'm sorry, bro. if i had a solution i would've helped."

Papyrus smiled down at him,"I know you would, brother. As is, all we can do is continue to stand up for ourselves."

Sans hummed and nodded. The silence wasn't long but comfortable.

"So…. Red is outside tonight…" His younger brother grinned down at him and though Sans blushed a soft dusting of cyan, the Omega did feel like he should talk to Papyrus about this.

"you were right…about the 'woo'ing'..." He offered and the Beta straightened, looking both delighted and concerned.

"I had a feeling! What did they say? What was your answer?"

"-slow down, bro," Sans chuckled and shook his skull fondly,"they approached me about a…courtship three days ago. i didn't have an answer then and i still don't."

A thoughtful expression crossed his brother's face before he spoke,"did they seem genuine in their interest."

"genuine and blunt." Sans replied with a slight shake of his head. Papyrus narrowed his sockets.

"Rude?"

"no, just straightforward about what they wanted."

"Thank the stars, you need that. You are never straightforward."

Scandalized but not wanting to dislodge any of his pillows, he glared softly,"hey!"

"I am only speaking the truth, Sans. You are closed off and having mates that can level that out would be a good thing for you."

Sans hummed at those words with a careful expression,"... you approve of this, then?"

His brother fell silent and contemplated the situation while Sans waited. It was important to him that Papyrus approved of this courtship before making up his mind. If his sibling had doubts or didn't like the idea, it would be easy to just push the whole thing aside.

Papyrus then brightened and looked down at him,"I think I do approve. As strange as the situation is, they are both capable Alphas that obviously care about your safety! They also stated their intentions and while it was quick on their part, monsters tend to go a lot faster than humans with these things. As long as you are alright with it and they remain perfect gentlemen, then I would feel better knowing you are being taken care of!"

Sans blinked in surprise,"i'm a grown monster, bro. i don't need babysitters."

Papyrus huffed and crossed his arms,"that is not what I meant and you know it! Sans, your Omega has never been catered to and allowed to flourish. You have sharp instincts but you force them down. It exhausts you, I can tell. Plus…. I do worry about you, brother. You raised me so young and you have never been selfish. I want you to be woo'ed and have mates who would spoil you."

"paps…" Sans murmured, eye-lights softening. The smaller monster had no idea.

"So I say 'go for it'! But if they hurt you, I will sic Undyne on them!"

Sans snorted at both the threat and the visual that came along with it before nodding to himself,"thank you for talking with me about it."

"No problem, Sans! Would you like dinner?" The taller skeleton offered and the older sibling nodded, watching Papyrus leave the room when a thought occurred to him.

"make sure not to offer food to them. they have a…culture thing about it."

"I wondered why they looked scandalized about it whenever I offered! Maybe you shouldn't court them, they are weird!"

Sans chuckled at the joke and relaxed back into his Nest, soul humming with delight as he came to his decision.

Chapter Text

It took until the next morning for Sans to work up the nerve to provide the two Alphas with his answer. He had simply relaxed and spent time with Papyrus the night previous but he knew that he could step outside anytime. There literally was a guard at all hours and the Omega found himself a bit worried how thin that may stretch the other siblings.

If one of them was always here, then…when did they make time for each other? Sans didn't like the idea that he was the thing keeping the two apart. Sure he could come up with something as a compromise?

Bracing himself, the small skeleton walked to the front door and leaned out to see which skeleton he was dealing with.

A sharp smirk greeted him and he sighed inwardly. Ah, Red…. Of course. It wasn't that he disliked Red, it was the relentless and shameless flirting that threw him off.

"heya, sweetheart."

Sans flushed at the purred greeting and huffed as he averted his eye-lights,"i was gonna give you two an answer but-"

Red's crimson eye-lights shrank comically and the taller skeleton held out two pacifying hands towards the Omega,"hey, waitaminute! i'm so damn sorry, don't run away!"

Shockingly, Sans' Omega swelled with the sensation of smug power. It wanted Red to chase him. Deciding to prolong that feeling, the monster hummed with indecision.

"i'll get my mate, yeah?" Red asked gently, searching Sans' smaller frame with a sheepish grin and he relented.

"okay." He answered simply with a pleased nod. Allowing himself a quick chuckle as his alternate took a shortcut, it was only a few moments before both Alphas stood in front of him. Sans opened the door and motioned both siblings inside.

"Thank you for having us." Edge seemed to be on his best behavior, both of the Alpha's speaking in softer tones, their gazes watching him with keen interest. Though the tallest sibling was usually the more sedate, they definitely were treating Sans with care.

Taking a seat at the kitchen table, the Omega huffed a small breath as Red and Edge sat across from him. He wasn't the best with communication but he would try.

"i've decided to accept your courtship," Sans smiled a bit when both Alpha monsters straightened, visibly brightening at his answer,"but i gotta be honest with you both, i have no idea what I'm doing. your world seems more…wild than ours. suppressing instincts is something i'm more used to."

While Red was still watching him with silent but shining eye-lights, Edge was the one to find his voice first,"we are honored for the chance you are giving us. Shall I expand on our customs to enlighten you?"

Sans nodded in wordless gratitude. Edge bridged his phalanges together and leaned forward, gaze intent,"as you know, our world was more violent. The Underground had more Alphas than Betas. Omegan monsters were rare, oftentimes they would seek sanctuary in the Ruins just to feel safe. Children were even less likely. Therefore, any Omega that would brave the way we lived was coveted, protected and cared for."

"i imagine that means a lot of competition."

Shockingly, Red shook his skull,"naw, most omegas hate violence. yer dynamic is nurturing, no matter the universe. alphas hurting others often put the courtship in jeopardy."

Sans tilted his head, surprised,"...then, why were omega so rare? if they were the ones in control of the courtship?"

"Alphas thrive on competition and could not help themselves. Fighting is easier than entertaining the thought of pacifism." Edge replied with a deep frown. Ah, that made sense. Suddenly curious, he leaned forward, gaze moving between the larger monsters.

"how come you two formed a pack and mated? doesn't that go against your nature?" He mainly looked at Red for the question, who softened unexpectedly.

"yer right, it does. it took years for my instincts to accept my younger brother as stronger and more dominant. the safety he provides is cathartic to me. my alpha was tired of fighting all the time."

The confession gentled the Omega and he reconsidered his stance on Red. He knew how it felt to fight what seemed to be an unending battle. Edge continued after looking at his Mate for a long moment.

"This is why Red wears a Collar. It is a visible reminder that though my brother is an Alpha, he has submitted and is under my protection."

That made sense,"will i have to wear one too?"

"It would be preferred," Edge responded mildly, placing the decision with Sans. He considered the accessory but merely nodded his understanding. The Omega wasn't sure about a lot of things, a Collar being one of the lesser issues.

"the courtship?" The small skeleton prompted and Edge inclined his skull at the return to the main topic.

"The Omega controls how fast and how far a courtship progresses. As Alpha monsters, we have to prove ourselves to your basest of instincts. You may not be able to have children, but you cannot help that at your core is the need to reproduce. Nothing can change that."

His Omega bristled at the thought of not having children but Sans couldn't deny it, not when he reacted immediately like that. The words were harsh but true.

"Safety. Food. Strength. Stability. Intimacy. All of these things are what your instincts crave."

"how will i know if you are good mates or even a good pack?" Sans questioned and Red grinned.

"yer just will. like with the rest of yer instincts."

Ah.

Of course.

"it'll feel like a switch has been flipped." Red elaborated and the smaller skeleton nodded in understanding. At least one part of this whole situation would be easy.

"how do we…start?" The Omega questioned and both Alphas shot each other a look that had Sans frowning.

"We would prefer if you were open to residing with us. Residing here poses many problems, one of which is disproving we cannot provide for you."

Sans had been worried about the brothers spending so much time apart. If they kept this up, the courtship was doomed at the start. The Omega didn't like the thought of leaving Papyrus.

"i…will need to talk to paps." He murmured, lowering his gaze as this threw his decision in question. Edge gentled and reached out, touching Sans' face.

"He is your child." The Alpha stated and even though it wasn't phrased as such, Sans nodded to confirm it. The touch lingered and Red stood to stand by Sans, leaning to nuzzle down into his vertebrae.

"we'll leave for now. yer know where to find us."

He did. Sans was already grateful the Alphas were backing off and giving him space to make what had to be the hardest decision of his life.

Chapter Text

When Papyrus returned home that night with a 'goodnight, Edge,' and a cheerful,"I'm home, Sans!" As he closed the door, the Omega was still not ready emotionally for the conversation. Still, he smiled genuinely at his sibling as he entered the home.

"welcome home, paps. how was your day?"

"Exhausting but good! Toriel and Asgore made some headway with some laws being discussed. Frisk and I were visiting functions," his sibling moved into the kitchen to begin dinner and Sans took a shortcut to sit in his seat at the table,"how did your day go, brother? Did you finally have a chat with your personal guard?"

Though he flushed at the teasing, his smile was soft,"i did."

Papyrus' sockets widened before he beamed,"wowie, Sans! I am so proud of you! You did not even hesitate!"

His expression fell and the Beta was quick to sit down at the table with Sans, taking his sibling's hand with an open air of concern,"... what is wrong, brother? Did it not go as expected?"

"i…"

This was difficult. It hurt so the smaller skeleton decided to just get to the point. He'd been honest and direct with the Alphas. He could easily do that for Paps.

"they want me to move in with them…. it's part of showing my omega that they can provide for me."

Papyrus softened immediately,"and to do that, you must move out."

Sans nodded, expression pained and he found himself being pulled into his sibling's lap, arms going around him. Tearing up, he closed his sockets and returned the embrace.

"Brother, I know you love me. You will always love me and I will forever love you. This is natural and is how things progress." A large hand eased up and down his spine in a soothing manner,"it is alright, Sans."

"it's not!" He gasped out and Papyrus tutted.

"It truly is. I know your Omega sees me as your own. However, even if I was, children grow into adults and venture out on their own. It is overdo to be honest."

Sans didn't like it,"i don't trust the humans."

Papyrus grew silent and pushed his smaller sibling by the shoulders until they locked eye-lights, voice serious and expression concerned,"...has something happened? With Frisk? With the…"

Sans closed his sockets and shook his head at the unvoiced question. Papyrus knew about the resets. It was why he hadn't questioned Edge and Red. The monster was just as intelligent as Sans and the Omega had shared the secret when it became too much.

Sometimes, Frisk wasn't…Frisk. It was always clear which one he was dealing with. Sometimes the human was…other. Not human, not monster. Those would be the worst times. However, Frisk had returned and stayed, two years passing as the promise they made the skeleton stood.

He knew Frisk remembered but Sans couldn't hate Frisk. They didn't talk about that time either. All he had asked was for the dark haired youth to stick with their loads and saves. A Reset didn't have to occur, not if they wanted to progress.

"Sans, if we waited for humans to be trustworthy as a whole, you would never live."

Sans froze, eye-lights shrinking before he spoke with conviction,"paps, raising you has been the best thing to happen to me, i have lived."

Papyrus frowned down at him,"brother…. You were a child raising me. You have not had a mate or even the opportunity to have a mate."

The Omega blushed,"i could've pursued a bond before."

One bony brow raised high and Sans' shoulders slumped under the intense scrutiny,"alright, fair."

"There is room for me at the Monster Embassy. I have had a room there for years. Identical to the one in this home thanks to you. Would that appease your Omega?"

Sans frowned, teeth pulling down as he thought about it. The Monster Embassy, despite being the center of a lot of the activity Sans feared, was actually the safest place for a monster to be. The building was armed heavily with both magic and technology. The building had its official meeting spaces above ground but the beauty was in its sublevels.

Even though they were below ground, they didn't abandon the beauty that was what they fought for. Sans himself had worked with Alphys to create the mirrors that fed an almost holographic reflection of what was occuring with the skies and in nature nearby.

It was both beautiful and surreal. Definitely one of the best things the Omega ever had a hand in.

It was that he knew the extent of the Embassy that Sans searched Papyrus' expression,"will you be happy there?"

"Of course!" Papyrus answered without hesitation,"in fact it would be convenient! This house won't have to be monitored and I spend more time there than anything. Despite the challenges, I love working there."

The Beta and Omega shared a heavy silence before Sans finally relented,"okay."

"Okay?"

"i don't trust the humans but i will always trust you, paps."

His sibling beamed, suddenly standing and causing Sans to flail in his arms,"excellent!" The smaller skeleton blinked his sockets and barely had enough time to register just what was happening before they stepped out into the open air.

Edge straightened, crimson eye-lights darting from Sans to Papyrus' face. His brother stood tall and unwavering and the amusement of the alternate dipping his skull in respect softened the embarrassment.

"If you harm my brother in anyway, I will make you regret it."

"We would never." Edge swore and Papyrus stared the Alpha down, the other monster obviously still under the impression Paps was an Alpha as well. It stretched enough to let Sans know his sibling was having fun before he was quite literally handed over.

Skull flushing a bright blue as he was surrounded by firm arms and Edge's scent, the Omega glanced at Papyrus as the monster beamed,"do not waste anymore time, brother. I expect to hear good things!"

"um." Sans was speechless as the front door shut, the Omega still coming to terms with what had happened in the last minute. A raspy chuckle drew his full attention and he blinked up at the Alpha holding him, a cell phone being pulled out and a short text sent off.

"I really like your brother, Sans." Edge murmured as he recontained his mirth, the scent of ozone revealing that the tall skeleton had texted Red as the monster quickly shortcut to them. Surprised crimson eye-lights blinked down at the monster held in his mate's arms.

"i'm guessing yer talk went well, then," the other Alpha ventured, taking in both of them.

"seeing as paps hand delivered me, then yeah." He responded in a deadpan tone and both Alphas looked at him with a mix of amusement and pride.

"ready to go?" Red questioned and Sans hesitated, looking at his home with apprehensive eye-lights before nodding his consent.

"sure."

The shorter skeleton turned, wrapping both arms around Edge and Sans, briefly checking his younger sibling's grip and then using a shortcut. It was the first time Sans had been taken along in the manner since it was an ability that had been exclusive to him. Red's method was less clean but more efficient and Sans filed that away for later thought when they appeared in a cabin.

The Omega looked around with a critical gaze. The cabin was older but the furnishings and interior were new. It was very minimalistic and obviously hadn't been touched much by the brothers. Not shocking as they had been guarding him.

It had a kitchen, living room with a fireplace and then went up to the second floor, which had four doors in total. It was similar to the place Sans and Papyrus had lived in Underground but the layout was obviously done by an experienced architect. It was also better furnished despite being barely lived in.

The Alphas' scent was here but not strong enough. It felt like a dwelling that hadn't been broken in yet. He blinked his sockets when he realized he was being watched intently.

"what?" He questioned softly, trying not to blush from the open scrutiny.

"You are displeased." Edge pointed out and Sans hummed before nodding, figuring it wouldn't hurt to voice his observations.

"it doesn't smell like you live here." He returned in a careful tone and both Alphas considered the home along with him.

"yer right!" The other Alpha offered him a sharp smirk before falling onto the couch, rubbing his face and wrists on the fabric. Sans sat up straighter in Edge's grip, sockets widening. He could only compare the behavior to a cat and faintly realized both Alphas had done this to him multiple times.

"red…what're doing?" Sans questioned, his Omega instincts sitting up and taking full notice of what was going on.

"Scent marking." Edge replied simply and he realized the room, more specifically the couch now smelled like Red. The longer the skeleton rubbed key bones that were tied to their magic and smell, the more potent the scent became. It said 'this is my couch, this is my space.'

Dear stars, they were doing that to HIM. Even before he had agreed to this courtship! Opening his mouth to accuse the Alphas of just that, his words faltered when Edge lowered him until he found his feet.

"Pick one of the rooms and do the same. We will bring your Nesting materials."

Sans blinked at the words, feeling the suggestion that usually came with an Alpha's Order but it was extremely faint. It gave the Omega plenty of room to refuse but he merely nodded and hurried up the stairs to hide his blush.

The skeleton wanted his Nesting materials back but giving into this instinct was more than a little embarrassing. He opened the first door, discovering a bathroom. The second door was the master bedroom with an adjoining bathroom. The Omega peeked into the two guest bedrooms and decided on the middle one. That way Red and Edge could be on either side if they chose to sleep apart.

Sans left the door open so he could hear what the Alpha were up to and flung himself on the bed. Flushing bright blue, the skeleton nuzzled the sheets and pressed his wrists against the soft blankets. Ozone, snowfall and his sweet Omega scent grew steadily stronger, the areas he rubbed turning a light cyan from the repeated stimulation.

Once the bed was fully saturated, his instincts drove him to touch every piece of furniture. The nightstand, the dresser and the skeleton picked up a sparrow plushie that was half as big as he was. Considering the cute toy, the Omega finally decided he liked it and was going to keep it, rubbing his vertebrae against it to mark it as his.

A gentle chuckle captured his attention and the Omega didn't lash out in embarrassment because both siblings held his deconstructed Nest, placing it on the bed. He ignored both Alpha to climb in and place his new plush amongst the pillows and blankets, smiling at Papyrus' lingering scent.

"Do you need anything more?" Edge questioned, wisely not mentioning the sparrow as the Omega's eye-lights grew larger and took in the difference. He would need more bedding if he was to fit both Edge and Red in here at once.

"...more blankets for weaving and enough pillows to line the edge. enough to cover how big this bed is," he answered honestly.

"i've got yer, sweetheart."

Sans blinked at the gentle touch of sharp fangs against his forehead before looking up to find Red already gone. Edge' expression gentled at the startled Omega.

"Forgive my mate, he is excited to have you here."

Sans searched Edge's skull before asking,"what about you?"

The Pack Alpha's expression softened a bit more,"of course I am excited to have you here, Sans. We want you to be comfortable which is why we are tackling your Nest and what your instincts notice first."

Reassured, Sans offered a tentative smile before refocusing on the Nest, beginning to weave the materials together. Edge leaned against the wall as the Omega worked, Red sometimes 'porting in with things of the same hue and texture. This didn't stop until the Omega sat back and considered the Nest, gently placing the sparrow plushie around the edge.

It was definitely big enough and there weren't any major differences between what was old and new.

"not bad." He murmured, happy with the progress and both Alphas smiled as the Omega scent marked it thoroughly, only blushing when he remembered they were there.

"let's get yer fed." Red offered and Sans followed both Alpha with a slight flush, internally getting ready to be stared at the whole time. He still didn't get the whole food thing but the Omega figured he would eventually. As he walked through the cabin, he realized it smelled a lot heavier of both brothers now.

The tension fled from his shoulders and the Omega smiled softly, trailing after both skeletons.

Chapter Text

This would require some adjustment, Sans thought as he ate with averted eye-lights, able to feel both Alphas' gazes like a physical thing. The skeleton had taken a brief moment to scrutinize both Edge and Red before enjoying his meal without making eye contact.

They truly were watching him the whole time, their skulls a mix of satisfaction and desire. Why? Sans would just put it firmly under the 'Instincts' category and leave it at that. Besides, it made sense. An Alpha providing for their Omega, or a Packmate would be a very self-satisfying thing, right?

Still, the Omega had to admit that Edge was a fine cook. Papyrus hadn't begun to really excel until they reached the Surface. You could only do so much with a half damaged and waterlogged recipe book, after all.

He quietly watched the night sky when he finished, embarrassment forgotten as he scanned the stars with a smile.

Realizing it was perfectly silent, Sans glanced behind him and discovered both siblings had joined him in his impromptu stargazing. Red looked especially soft, urging Sans to speak.

"love stars too?"

The shorter Alpha jerked out of his daze and offered Sans a genuine smile,"yeah. it's a lot better than i imagined."

Turning his attention to Edge, the Omega discovered the Pack Leader watching them both with a soft look. Willing his soul to stop pounding at the interaction, the small skeleton huffed.

"Does your Omega feel content?" Edge questioned with a patient look.

Yeah, questions like that certainly did not help the speeding of his soul. Sans could definitely feel a difference immediately. After fighting his instincts and using suppressants his entire life, he hadn't realized how much stress he had been carrying. It was no wonder he had been exhausted. Resets and depression aside, stopping the internal battle had the monster feeling good. Better than Sans could ever recall.

"yeah, content is a good word for it." He finally allowed, white eye-lights moving between both Alphas before tilting his skull,"it's still strange. a good strange though."

Red leaned forward with a sharp smile,"then would yer be open to some more scent marking, sweetheart?"

The smaller monster sighed and gave Red a 'look',"i'm not against it but i am a bit miffed you both were doing that without my knowledge."

Both siblings looked surprised and the Omega's irritation fled as he sighed,"you didn't know i didn't know…"

"Our apologies, Sans," Edge told him with a slight frown pulling at his teeth. His crimson eye-lights cast about and landed back on the stars outside.

"Why don't you go outside with my mate and watch the stars? You both love them and it would be overwhelming to have two Alphas scent marking you at once," he gentled at the concerned look Sans shot him,"this will give me ample time to perform duties around the house that I have been neglecting."

"sure." The Omega agreed and Red stood with a bright expression, nuzzling into Edge's neck before offering Sans a hand up. He searched the other monster's expression before taking it and found himself teleported twice in quick succession. Sans blinked at their surroundings, discovering them shaded in the backyard by a large oak tree on a blanket that smelled like Red. He mentally went back through the shortcut and realized the extra jump was for the blanket.

"impressive," he remarked genuinely and when a positively delighted smirk lit up his alternate's skull, the Omega laughed and shoved Red's shoulder,"asshole! don't let it get to your head!"

The Alpha placed a hand over his ribs, above his soul,"now how do I do that when such a lovely omega like yer says those things to me?"

"gah! could you stop?!"

Red's smirk was shit-eating now,"stop what, sweetheart?"

Sans gestured nonverbally with both hands helplessly before finding words,"complimenting me! are you messing with me?!"

"no."

The Omega froze under the serious expression Red had adopted, the absolute tone of no-nonsense the jokester had taken. The Alpha leaned back and gestured to his lap, his expression still firm as Red's next words were laced with Command.

"Come here, facing me."

Sans never thought he would take an Alpha Command without a fight but he was easing into Red's hold with lowered eye-lights in the next moment, submission humming in his soul. Perhaps he trusted Red that much already? He wasn't sure. Maybe it was because Red was technically him? Still, his Omega instincts were alarmed that he had truly insulted the Alpha by his suggestion.

"Sans."

He swallowed a whimper, a phalange hooking under his chin to tilt his skull up so they held eye-lights. Those crimson eye-lights held a mix of earnest and solemn steel that captivated the small Omega.

"when my mate and i compliment yer, we mean it. we'll never be joking. got it?" Red's eye-lights searched his keenly and Sans managed a shaky nod, realizing just how important this was to the Alpha to impart to him.

"g-got it." He answered and the Omega blinked at the deep thrum that began in Red's ribs, sparking happiness in his instincts that he had pleased the Alpha. His alternate had a much deeper purr than him, Sans noted with a slight flush of magic to his face.

If his purr was a housecat, both of the mated sibling's had one like a jungle cat. He shivered at the sensation of their ribs touching while that deep purr hummed inside the Alpha.

The sweetness of his scent deepened in a damning way, the Omega darting his eye-lights to the side in embarrassment when Red's sharp teeth pulled down in open confusion.

He was afraid of ridicule but nothing could've prepared him for the breathy reverence that the Alpha spoke with next.

"no one has ever touched yer."

His hands came up to cover his blushing skull, trying to hide it was a futile endeavor. Larger phalanges interlocked with his own and pulled his hands from his face, the flushing Omega looking up at Red in hesitation.

But the Alpha was still serious, searching his expression critically,"no one, sweetheart?" Sans shivered at the careful tone and shook his head.

"no one…" The small skeleton admitted and Red grit his teeth before cursing thickly, the pitch of the Alpha's purr dropping deeper.

"fuck!"

Sans blinked and then closed his sockets when his alternate began nuzzling against his vertebrae with an unexpected gentleness. It was in direct opposition with how rough Red's cursing was and the Omega huffed out a breathy sigh, tilting his skull so the Alpha would have more room to work. The deep purr was still vibrating against his sensitive ribs and the sweetness in Sans' scent was becoming dizzying, even for him.

"okay, love," Red breathed against his neck and gingerly pushed the fluffy hood of Sans' jacket off his small shoulders,"i've got yer."

A spike of bitterness laced his scent but Red merely rubbed his face into Sans' shoulders to ease the brief fear aside,"please don't be scared, omega. trust me, sans."

There wasn't even a hint of an Alpha Command in the other monster's words. It allowed Sans to fully relax into the attention, breath speeding up a bit as the brief waft of bitter scent faded back into the overpowering sweetness of his Omega side in desire. His jacket pooled around his hands and hipbones as it fell the rest of the way off, the Omega tilting his skull back as Red nuzzled into his ribcage.

The Alpha hadn't stopped purring once, deep rumbling words of reassurance soothing his nerves. Sans wasn't even completely certain what they were doing. His scent was entangled with Red's now, sinking into him on a magic-deep level. It felt safe and so right, enough that Sans began purring delicately right back.

"Red!" The smaller monster gasped out as the other's thicker floating ribs pressed into his femurs firmly, that vibrating purr settling into his pelvis. Crimson eye-lights lifted to watch the Omega's expression tighten in pleasure and uncertainty, jerking down to look at where Red hovered below his collarbones.

The Alpha's deep purr softened, barely there as the taller monster took in his reaction. Sans was so confused by the alien desire of simple wanting, the Omega panting as he searched the Alpha's intentions in desperation.

Red's teeth pulled into a gentle quirk upwards, the vibrations of his purr going straight to Sans' pelvis,"lay back, sweetheart."

The skeleton monster looked at the Alpha's gentle expression, breathed in their combined scents and let go of the last of his resistance, falling back onto the blanket with a needy whine. His arms flew up over his face as he struggled for breath and couldn't stop purring at the same time.

Large hands stroked the sides of his clothed ribs, barely having to move to pet them up and down in a soothing manner. Sans' soul had to be shining through his white shirt, the sweet scent heavy as it began to drip excess cyan.

"Red! Red! Please!" The Omega almost couldn't recognize his own voice, tight and needy as Red purred deeply at him. But those hands never descended from his ribs. The Alpha never actually moved to touch him.

"Red!"

It was the thick ribs that were pressed into his inner femurs, vibrating the bone all the way to his tailbone. The Omega outright moaned, trembling as his magic glowed through his shorts, flushing as his pussy clenched around nothing. The aching need to be filled wasn't unfamiliar, however it had been his presenting heat fresh out of stripes the last time he had felt it.

Overwhelmed, Sans' cried out for the Alpha that was absolutely firm in not moving but sweetly driving the Omega crazy with just his purr and well placed ribs.

His eye-lights roved up to the stars they were supposed to be watching and Sans keened high, squeezing his eyes shut and felt them instead. His shorts soaked with slick, walls clenching around nothing as the Alpha pulled him up and against him. Red purred for a moment more, overstimulating the whining Omega before easing into whispered endearments.

He held Sans as he trembled in the aftermath of his orgasm, nuzzling into the Omega who had accepted and was saturated with Red's scent. Sockets closing, the small monster couldn't remember being bathed by Edge as Red looked on with a soft look. Nor could the Omega recall being tucked into his Nest, hugging his sparrow plushie as he slept without nightmares.

Chapter Text

It was another few days of settling in fully at the sibling's residence before the Omega felt completely at ease. Papyrus contacted him throughout the day via texts and called him to tell him goodnight. Sans now felt safe and also secure in the knowledge that his brother was happy at the Monster Embassy.

The cabin now felt warm and lived in, smelling of all three monsters. His Nest was still completely his own scent but the Omega knew that would change as soon as his Heat hit. It was a mystery to him as for the timeline of that occurring. Sans had been taking suppressants for so long that his cycle could be determined by anything.

Still, as the Omega helped Edge clean the kitchen while Red took a shortcut to talk with Alphys about a new job; his instincts were humming pleasantly. Nothing felt amiss.

Upon drying the last dish, Edge turned towards the small skeleton with a gentle look in those crimson eye-lights,"I wanted to ask after your readiness to accept my scent."

Sans blinked his sockets, flushing a bit upon remembering his encounter with Red. The Omega was grateful that the Pack Alpha had seemed to pick up his need for a bit of time between then and asking this question himself.

"i feel ready for it. red's scent is still with me." Sans wasn't sure if it was supposed to linger or if that was the manner in which the Alpha had scent marked him. The taller skeleton hummed in consideration.

"I know it is presumptuous but if possible, I wish to do so in your Nest."

His first instinct was to bristle and growl at the suggestion. It was his Nest and though they provided the materials, Alphas weren't welcome. But as he took a breath and considered, inhaling Edge's unique smell, the instincts calmed. He had accepted Red's intimacy and preclaim. This was Pack Alpha and his future mate alongside it.

It was okay to accept Edge into his Nest. Both Alphas would certainly be joining Sans there soon regardless. His eye-lights moved to take in the tall monster before he nodded in acceptance.

"I am honored, Omega." Edge told him in a solemn tone and Sans flushed when a pleased trill escaped him, clapping a hand over his teeth. His embarrassment at the feral noise was soothed by a low rumble, Edge lifting him up into his arms and nuzzling into his vertebrae. The small skeleton relaxed at the attention and watched as he was carried into his room. The Alpha stopped outside of his Nest when Sans tensed, instincts flaring up much to his mortification.

"I know it is hard for an Omega to share their Nest with Alphas during preclaim, Sans. We'll get in together and I encourage you to express what you are feeling rather than holding it inside." Edge instructed. Sans tensed and took a slow breath before nodding his acceptance.

A rumbling growl thrummed in his ribcage as the Pack Alpha eased into the Nest, his mind rebelling against anyone's presence within it aside from himself and Papyrus. Instead of scolding Sans for his defiance, Edge's sharp teeth pulled up into a proud smile.

"You'll be a force to be reckoned with, full of our children."

Sans' growl hitched, sockets widening at the words. A sharp phalange hooked gently between his teeth and pulled down, revealing the four sharp canines the press of Sans' smile hid.

"I knew there was more to you. I bet that you fight fiercely, having to have lived with a handicap all your life. You did splendidly raising Papyrus."

Sans hadn't been expecting the compliments but they soothed the anger from him, his Omega preening under the praise of a Pack Alpha. There was the initial resistance of wanting to keep his dignity and wits by fighting them as he had always done before. But that wouldn't help Sans with this courtship.

"You are doing so well, Sans. Red told me you were good for him. I'm going to push things a bit further. Will you be a good boy for me?"

Flushing, the small skeleton searched Edge's expression,"push things how?"

"How many times have you experienced Heat?"

Oh.

"Only my presenting Heat." He managed to answer. That earned him a disapproving and calculated look from the Alpha.

"That is not good. The medication of your world says it isn't good to take long-term."

It was both surprising and not at all that the Pack Alpha had looked into the Heat and Scent Suppressors. Sans lowered his eye-lights and sighed, nodding to show he knew that just as well.

"No wonder you are having a difficult time listening and accepting your Omega. Sans, I will not hold back in appealing to them. Are you prepared to submit to my will?"

Eye-lights shrinking to pins, the smaller skeleton looked up at the Alpha sitting in his Nest. His logical mind wanted to tell Edge 'no', that they were moving fast, even by Monster standards. But the problem was that Sans didn't know when his Heat would start, so it was actually a product of his own making. Red and Edge didn't want to claim him and take him into their Pack when he was out of his mind from the Heat.

That was their respect for him during their Courtship shining through. Some wouldn't care but they did.

"i don't know how i'll react…" The Omega murmured softly and Edge hummed, sanguine eye-lights searching his skull for actual rejection.

"React as your instincts tell you."

Sans looked at Edge critically,"will you Command me?"

"I may." Was the gentle response and the skeleton realized Edge was giving him ample time to back out. Not only from this but the Courtship as well. His soul beat hard with the realization and Sans finally nodded.

"okay. i'm ready."

Edge stared steadily into his gaze for a few long moments before he offered Sans a nod. The smaller monster tensed when the Alpha rumbled a growl, those scarred sockets narrowing. Sans flinched and glared back. What had he done to earn being growled at? He had allowed the Alpha in his Nest.

It took the growl morphing into a snarl for the Omega to shrink back, expression easing into confusion. He was thinking too hard. What would an Alpha want from an Omega?

Edge played with the weaving and his instincts screamed at him because the fucking audacity! But that eased his own defiance as Sans realized the problem.

Edge was not just an Alpha, but the Pack Alpha. He required submission and it was clear Sans wasn't showing any respect to that. They were in the Nest but he hadn't fully accepted the reality that now the skeleton had shared it, it wasn't just his Nest. Edge and Red had a claim to it now.

"...alpha," he pleaded, silencing his soft growls to look up at the taller skeleton for guidance. The snarling returned to a rumble, Edge simply watching him with keen eye-lights.

Submission. It wasn't something he was used to but Sans would try. Casting aside his gaze to the fabric of the Nest, he huffed out a whine and was immediately rewarded by the displeased growl turning into a deep purr. He kept his gaze down until Edge leaned down and began nuzzling into his vertebrae.

"ah." The small skeleton shuddered and inhaled Edge's scent, offering more of his neck to the other monster. The other's presence had never been so encompassing before. He knew Edge was his sibling's size but the other monster wasn't his brother. Exhaling a shuddering breath, Sans pressed into Edge's lap. Red was big but this was another level that appealed to his Omega in a sweet way.

Edge held Sans firm in his lap with one hand while the other caressed from his skull all the way down his spine and back up.

"Pretty Omega, are you done fighting now?" Edge murmured down to him and Sans frantically nodded, blushing blue. He didn't want the Alpha to stop.

"Good. Present for me."

Sans blinked at the Command, logic not helping him but his Omega certainly knew what to do. Pushing out of Edge's lap, the skeleton rolled until he was on his hands and knees.

Oh dear stars…

Edge's shadow fell over him the same instant that scent engulfed him. Sans whimpered but inhaled deeply to calm himself as the Pack Alpha draped himself over the small Omega, dwarfing him. One hand splayed over his chest to steady him and-

"alpha!" Sans moaned as his tailbone was grinded against an unmistakable hardness. It wasn't fair! Sans' magic was already glowing and getting wet from the repeated attention. Edge barely had to move to rub his erection against everything that wanted that attention.

Gasping out, the Omega began whimpering and canting his small hips back. Everything smelled like Edge and felt amazing. He keened when the Alpha rutted deeper, the only thing preventing the other skeleton from fucking him was a few layers of clothing.

Clothing that was ruined as the Omega cried out for Edge and soaked the fabric with sweet smelling cum. He fell limp but Edge's hand at his chest kept him aloft anyway.

Desperate little whines passed his teeth as he realized Edge was not stopping, keeping up that firm but slow pace. His slick hole clenched with each thrust, wanting to reach back and shove his shorts down but refraining.

Being overpowered and coated in Pack Alpha's scent safe in his Nest was so good. He rolled his pelvis and came again, pleading with Edge before the other skeleton sped up.

Which was both amazing and overstimulating, oh stars! The Alpha fucked against his smaller body until Sans was screaming until his breath left him. He wanted to be filled!

Edge grunted above him and Sans shuddered as warmth seeped into the other monster's pants. The scent of the other was overpowering. All over him and all over his Nest.

He was picked up effortlessly, the Omega purring and letting out a sleepy trill but he didn't fight Edge washing him. Couldn't even feel embarrassed.

Because he liked it and Alphas took care of their Omega. Edge hummed and nuzzled into him, fixing Sans into his Nest before joining him as well.

Red was curled up with them in the morning and the sleepy Omega merely squinted at the new addition before burrowing his way between both monsters to get more rest.

"Brother! I did not know to expect you!" Papyrus cried, running the distance separating them and snatching the small Omega up into his arms. He beamed bright and then tested the air around Sans, raising a bony brow with a smile.

"So I take it the Courtship with Edge and Red is going well?"

Sans snorted, absently scratching his cheek as he flushed a light blue,"they are being good to me. it was their suggestion to take a break to come visit you in person."

His little sibling softened and put Sans down with a fond look,"that is wonderful! I must say that they are growing on me. Do you want to make a bet on when they may realize I am only a Beta?"

"at least two months," the Omega answered with a smirk and Papyrus laughed.

"Drat! In that case, I will have to give them the benefit of the doubt and say less than that. Someone must have faith in them."

Warmth flooded his soul as his eye-lights gazed up at Papyrus. It had always been that way. Even with the mischievous nature of their game and the bets involved, his younger brother would always vote in opposition to what Sans chose. It was fair that way, the Beta skeleton insisted. It was exactly a Papyrus thing to do.

"Want to grab lunch in the Forest Wing?"

"sounds good to me." Instead of teleporting, they walked side by side through the Monster Embassy sublevel. The sights were worth the extra effort. Though the building itself was concrete and everything necessary to keep the structure comfortable, the mirrors and magic tricked this safe haven visually. Holograms of the exact world above them, using scent and moving air to make this second Underground feel like the Surface.

The fact they could come and go freely helped more than the technology but everyone looked happy. It was a little disheartening they had to take these measures but peace was still far away. It would take multiple human generations for them to coexist as equals once more.

The magic of the sublevels that protected monsters and the Royal Family was a marvel.

The Forest Wing was exactly as it sounded. A cafeteria was engulfed by a hologram of a real section on Mount Ebott. Some hardier plants were tended to as well as the Golden Flowers that could be found anywhere.

They grabbed their food, a mix of MTT brand and comfort from Snowdin before choosing to sit on a picnic table rather than a blanket on the floor within the hologram forest.

"You and Alphys really outdid yourself, brother." Papyrus praised softly and the Omega smiled, pride welling in his soul.

"thanks, bro. is it nice living here? not too stifling?" He questioned in a concerned tone. Papyrus smiled down at him and they spoke between bites of magic food.

"I am happy here, Sans. It is nothing like the Underground and there is so much hope here! There is also never any lack of work. I am busy, healthy and happy."

Safe.

Good.

The Beta softened,"you've been scent marked but it looks like they haven't officially Marked you and taken you into their Pack."

It wasn't a question and the smaller skeleton was grateful Papyrus brought this up. It was still a difficult topic for him to bring up himself.

"that's why i am here, in part. edge and red told me tomorrow is the day. we don't want to wait too long as my heat can start anytime. that way it won't be hazed over and we won't be too into our instincts." He explained.

"That is a wise decision. Are you taking it well?"

White eye-lights met those of his sibling's and Sans gentled,"they have been really good about taking care of me. i think everything is going to be okay now."

Papyrus' breath hitched, orange magic welling in his sockets before he seized Sans up into a tight embrace,"I am so glad, Sans! This makes me so happy! I have been waiting for this to happen forever!"

Sans held his younger brother just as tight, the baby he had raised. Both monsters weren't talking about something as shallow as Sans' care, though that was paramount to Papyrus.

They were talking about hope.

About Sans' inability to see a future from all the trauma the Underground had left the Omega. Papyrus pulled back.

"You will be trying for a child, even with the first Heat?"

Sans flushed cyan,"y-yeah. i don't want to take more drugs after coming off of so many for so long. we don't know how it's impacted everything."

Papyrus' sockets sparkled, the skeleton looking over the moon,"so I may have a little niece or nephew soon? Or perhaps…a younger sister or brother?"

"whatever feels right, paps. you are technically both." The Omega answered in a fond tone. The tall skeleton considered the situation carefully before brightening.

"There is always time for nieces and nephews if I have a younger sibling!" He hugged Sans again and the short monster laughed,"I have always wanted to be a Big Brother!"

"then you'll be one." Sans reassured, purposely giving Papyrus time to calm his happy tears.

"They will tell me when your Heat arrives?"

"yes."

"Wonderful. Good." The skeleton said with a nod. The brothers went back to their meal, Sans watching the monsters pass by. Of course they all knew each other and he was constantly having to wave in greeting. Dynamics of all types were milling around and Sans noted with a large smile that some monsters were clearly Mated and carrying. Being an Omega, he could sense pregnancy within a monster.

New life had its own scent. Milky and unsullied. If innocence smelled a certain way, that would be it.

His own instincts purred at the thought that he may carry that scent soon. With two Mates and a Pack completing the void he hadn't known that he needed filled.

"how are the humans, paps?" Sans hadn't wanted to bring it up, especially when everything was so happy but he needed to know.

Papyrus let out a long suffering sigh that said everything that was needed. The monster still went into detail, however.

"Riots every week as usual. People with signs and microphones showing up at monster friendly places. Of course, our peaceful humans do the same. It doesn't seem particularly helpful as they always clash but humans have always been passionate."

Sans hummed with a frown.

"I would not fault them their need to express themselves but there has to be a better way than potential fights to solve things."

They looked at each other in concern and love.

"It is as you have always said, Brother. It will take patience and time. I can only do what I can and help Frisk stay determined as always."

"you do that, paps. the kid is happy and adores you."

"They love you too, Sans. You should drop by to visit them. I am sure Frisk would love to be part of any children you and the Fell Brothers sire."

They would, wouldn't they?

Long after their lunch was done and conversation was dying down, Sans spotted Red walking towards them with a sharp smile. The Omega returned it before saying farewell to Papyrus and standing to greet his alternate.

"ready to go home, sweetheart?"

Sans held out his hand and the Alpha took it, the skeletons stepping through space and time to return to their Pack Alpha and a quiet day.

Chapter Text

Today was the day and the small skeleton had taken to his Nest for the comfort it provided him. Sans wished he was more calm, he knew that his scent was slightly sour with his nervousness. Edge and Red would never hurt him or do anything untoward to him. It was simple in the fact that the Omega was committing to something as permanent as being Bonded and joining a Pack.

Sans was nervous but also excited.

His instincts had longed for this and it was about to happen. Two strong Alpha and a home with them, no matter what happened or where they went. That sense of belonging was so soothing.

Sans had decided to stop worrying if he could have children or not. Obviously Papyrus had noticed by their conversation just yesterday. Both Alpha had also noted this and it didn't come out in conversation again.

His instincts wouldn't allow him to dwell on the possibility so the Omega decided to stop dwelling on it. Well, as much as he could. The fear would always be there because it went against what the monster wanted.

"Sans, are you feeling alright?"

White eye-lights snapped up to the door to his room to spot Edge and he shrugged his shoulders, sheepish,"nothing to worry about. just nervous."

The Alpha softened a bit and approached, the Omega still having to fight the need to protect his Nest. Phalanges cupped his face and tilted it up so the smaller skeleton was looking up into red eye-lights.

"I will not tell you that you shouldn't be. You will feel the same regardless. However, we will take care of you. This is to cement our commitment to you." The tall Alpha told him and Sans nodded in understanding, soul humming with his conflicting emotions.

"will you and red bite me?" The Omega questioned, gaze flickering over the Alpha's sharp teeth.

"Yes. You will also bite both of us for the Mating Bond. The Soul Merge is to strengthen that Bond and to include you in our Pack."

Sans huffed,"will my teeth be strong enough to leave a proper Mark?"

Edge cupped his face and smirked down at him,"you have four strong fangs to do so."

"when…"

"I noticed you haven't had lunch and slept through breakfast. My Mate suggested Grillby's and I had to admit that trash would be good energy for what we need. He will be back any moment if you want to take an early dinner."

Sans hummed and nodded eagerly, as much as he adored Edge's cooking he would always have a weakness for Grillby's food. They would stare at him either way. The tall Alpha took the small monster into his arms and stood from the Nest.

Red was already in the kitchen and brightened visibly at the sight of them,"looks like i cooked tonight, sweetheart."

Sans scoffed and shook his head,"that joke doesn't work when i've known the chef my entire life. he has probably heard that one too many times as well."

"asshole," Red told him with affection as he got everything out of the familiar bags.

"bastard." Sans replied mildly as Edge sat him down in a chair.

"Both of you shut the fuck up and eat," the tallest Alpha scolded without heat. It was a sight to see Edge eat Grillby's. Unlike Papyrus, he didn't complain about the grease or how other meals would be much better. The monster was straightforward in that the boost of magic was needed and did what he could to achieve that goal. Sans was watched by both siblings, the undertone of desire in their eye-lights reminding the skeleton how these two mingled their scents.

He blushed a light blue and finished his meal.

Red had been the first to scarf down the burger and fries, shockingly clean after even though he ate like he was starving. Sans figured that had something to do with their universe and it made him feel sad. The Omega was the second as Edge seemed to be taking his time, unlike the smaller monsters.

His hand was taken by a smiling Red and he cast an inquiring look towards the Pack Alpha.

"Go with him, I will be upstairs shortly."

Humming, the Omega allowed Red to tug him through a shortcut and he blinked his sockets at his surroundings. This was the master bedroom that the siblings shared. He hadn't been in here yet so Sans took the time to appreciate the clean room that smelled heavily of both Alphas.

Phalanges interlocked with his own and his gaze flickered back to Red to discover his alternate gazing at him with a fond look.

"yer know we wouldn't harm yer, right sans?"

Sans nodded and sighed,"i know i smell sour. it's fear of the unknown is all. i wouldn't be doing any of this if i didn't trust you both."

"come'ere" Red urged with a soft expression and the Omega stepped into the circle of the other's embrace, issuing a soft noise when he was picked up effortlessly and they both sat on the bed. He was held firmly but careful as Red purred, rubbing against Sans' vertebrate.

"we're so fucking lucky to have yer, sweetheart. we'll take damn good care of yer."

"I second the notion."

Sans blinked and looked up as Edge closed the door behind him and approached the bed. His spine was warmed by the heat coming off the tallest Alpha when the monster pressed up behind him. Sandwiched between them, it was pleasantly warm and the mingling scents drew a gentle purr from the Omega.

"Are you ready?" Edge questioned and the small skeleton nodded, his previous fears melting as the time had finally arrived. He was about to be claimed as a Mate and join a solid Pack. His instincts were much louder than his logical protests, especially with both Alphas soothing him.

"yes." The Omega answered, simple and honest.

He was drawn onto the soft bed and rolled onto his back. Spine arching, Sans gasped as both brothers nuzzled into his neck. A press of sharp teeth would flirt with the bone and then be smoothed over with a hot glowing tongue. He squirmed and whined, tilting his head to bare more of his vertebrae.

Edge's bite sank in first, breaking through bone enough to draw the barest of magic-filled marrow. It felt like fire but didn't hurt like the Omega had been anticipating. In fact, he sobbed the Alpha's name while his hips bucked off of the bed. Someone's hand…Red's lowered to his pelvis and stroked his mound through the cloth.

Then Red's bite pierced the other side of his vertebrae and the Omega keened, embarrassment fleeing quickly as he came in his shorts. He basked in the mindless haze that overpowered everything else.

He was Marked.

Sans had two strong Alpha mates.

Thrumming a happy purr, he rode out the overstimulation, canting his hips into Red's hand as another wave of release crashed through him. Whining to show he needed to return the gesture, to give them his Bite was enough for both Alphas to release him.

Healing magic innate to the Bond healed Sans' vertebrae, red magic glowing faintly and would forever where each side of his neck took the respective Alpha's Mark.

Unable to push himself up, Edge leaned down and offered the side of his neck that didn't carry Red's Bite. The Omega chirped and nuzzled the offered bone before parting his teeth and sinking four sharp fangs into Edge.

He would have blushed at the low moan of pleasure if Sans wasn't caught up in his connection to Edge sealing then together. He could feel the Alpha's presence in his magic. Flickers of emotions and sentiment.

He gasped, releasing the tallest Alpha and watched with hazy eye-lights as blue magic signaled his claim, green magic closing the wound swiftly. He laved his glowing tongue over the Bite, clearing away the little bit of marrow that had leaked through.

Metal clinking drew the Omega's adoring gaze from Edge to find that Red had removed his Collar. The small skeleton reached out as Red pressed closer, hesitation gone as he bit the free side of the other's neck that was offered.

Red cursed softly and rumbled as Sans left his Mark, a pretty blue joining the crimson of Edge's that both monsters immediately adored. Sans soothed the Alpha with his tongue before he relaxed back into the bed.

Panting, he smiled and purred happily as he basked in his instincts. He had almost forgotten they weren't done when the monster felt a beckoning to his soul. He resisted all of a few moments before the Omega remembered that he was about to be taken into his Alphas Pack.

Submitting to the magic calling on his soul, his inverted heart-shaped organ was called into the open. It was both vulnerable and beautiful. Whining, he leaned into Edge's caressing phalanges as he watched two more souls join the air beside his own.

They were red, like Determination but not. They had healed over scars.

Shame.

No. He thought they were both gorgeous and Sans sent that sentiment as fiercely as he could to both of his Mates through their Bond.

Happiness.

Relief.

Sans whined and huffed an impatient chirp, drawing rolling growls of amusement from both monsters. Sans knew it would be intense, joining souls was the ultimate act, after all.

But the Omega hadn't expected the sheer pleasure and rush of sensations. It urged a strangled shout and it was only through both Alphas touching him that he knew the world hadn't fallen away.

It was everything. So beautiful and painful all at once. It felt like gravity had shifted and the center of his universe now revolved around the two monsters that were joined with him.

They claimed him, they had Marked him. Now they were magically tied on a soul-deep level as belonging to each other. A Pack. A family.

It was too much and Sans knew he would be safe as he closed his sockets and gave in to the maelstrom of being a Claimed Omega.

His Alphas would keep him safe and would be there once the world settled around Sans once more.

Chapter Text

It felt like the world was burning. Whining low, Sans forced open his eye sockets enough to register he was in the master bedroom. He needed his Nest. Too disoriented to even consider a shortcut, the small Omega climbed to the edge of the bed and that was as far as he managed to get.

"Sans?" A raspy voice inquired, heavy with sleep before it sharpened almost in the next moment,"oh, Omega..."

Large hands cradled him close to a ribcage and the smaller skeleton whimpered in complaint, but soon forgot the transgression when the other's touch soothed him.

"Red." Was murmured curtly and after some grumbling, another set of gentle hands joined the first in stroking his body.

"it's hot," Sans complained and twin croons answered his weak words,"want m'nest."

"We are moving there now, sweet Omega." His Pack Alpha promised and even through the fire, Sans managed a relieved chirp. It would be okay. His Alphas were here and they were taking him to his safe place. They would get rid of his burning and make him feel better.

When Sans was laid down on familiar fabric, the Omega scented it and breathed in their combined scent, his instinct settling. It was safe here and this was where he was meant to be. The burning was the only ongoing issue.

He began stripping with a huff, bones flushed with blue magic as he got rid of his hoodie and shirt. A rough curse came from nearby when the Omega stripped off his boxers, his magic already formed into a dribbling cunt as he restlessly pushed the clothes from his Nest.

Large white eye-lights darted to his two Alpha Mates and he whined for them, holding his arms out. What was the holdup? They had all known this was coming. Edge and Red needed to take care of the fire, they had promised.

Sans chirruped happily when they began to hastily undress. Good, the clothing didn't belong in the Nest. Only his Alphas and their ability to cool him, to fill him up and-

"pups," Sans whined at them both, his instincts latching on to the logical purpose of this fire. The reason the Omega was burning,"now!"

Red chuckled as Edge was the first to join their needy Mate in the Nest, appreciative crimson eye-lights appraising both of his lovers. Edge cupped a writhing Sans' face and leaned down, slick red and blue twining as they kissed.

"Yes, Omega. Pups." Edge murmured quietly and Sans sighed, spreading his femurs to reveal his mound to their greedy gazes. While the Pack Alpha would have preferred to take Sans when he was fully cognizant, the urge of the Heat took away all embarrassment. The small skeleton was present but everything was colored by basic urges. Sans wouldn't forget a moment of this time.

"burning," the Omega reminded with a grimace and Edge was quick to completely engulf the other monster's body, long phalanges moving to tease Sans' clit before toying with the folds. Red climbed into the Nest as the sweet scent grew cloying.

"he smells so good," the smaller Alpha sighed as he laid back to watch slick begin to drool constantly past Edge's digits.

"ah!"

"Good boy flooding over with slick," Edge cooed to the squirming Omega,"get nice and wet for our knots."

Sans keened at the reminder, canting his pelvis up into the stroking. He wanted their knots so badly! To be tied up with them as they filled him up! One of his hands released Edge and searched blindly for his other Alpha, Red catching his hand with a sharp grin that was indulgent.

"what's that, sweetheart? yer need something from me?"

Sans nodded frantically, sighing as a long tongue laved up his Marked neck. Impatient and not receiving what he wanted from Edge, the small skeleton tugged on Red until he was within range.

"ah, fuck!"

Mouth wide open and forcing his second Alpha closer, Sans' blue tongue swirled around Red's dick, humming happily upon discovering piercings there. Throat visible now, the Omega swallowed the Alpha down despite his inexperience, fueled by the need to urge the Alphas into action. The magic leaking into him was blissful and cooled the burning.

"Careful, brother. Get too excited and you may knot his teeth."

Impatient white eye-lights darted to Edge in open discontent, rumbling a growl that said he wouldn't mind that as long as they didn't make him wait a moment more.

"Greedy Omega," Edge admonished gently before motioning for Red. Moaning low, the other Alpha pulled free of a whining Sans', red cock dripping with blue magic as Edge eased the smaller skeleton into presenting position.

Falling docile upon realizing what was going on, the Omega whimpered for his Pack Alpha and spread his femurs wider as he enjoyed how Edge completely dwarfed him this way. Red began stroking himself, eyes riveted on his two Mates as Edge lined up with the sopping pussy.

Sans' phalanges curled into the fabric of the Nest as pressure began working him open. Keening at the intrusion, the Omega spread himself more in an attempt to swallow the pulsing cock all the way down. Rough praises and growls came from both of his mates as his pelvis tilted up, crying out when Edge bottomed out in his much smaller body.

Hazy eye-lights looked down to see his magic stretched nearly to his soul to accommodate his Pack Alpha and Sans panted, grinding back for more.

"fuck, yer so beautiful taking my bro's cock like that," Red growled, pinching the base of his glowing shaft to prevent his knot from forming.

Edge's thrusts were languid at first, letting the Omega feel every inch and each individual piercing before speeding up into a hungry tempo. Sans was keening and purring, pushing back with each strike, stronger when he felt his Alpha's knot catch for the first time.

"knot…gimme your knot! breed me, alpha, please! please!"

Unable to deny the Omega, Edge's pace became brutal, drawing a soundless scream from the small Omega as the coiling tension snapped. Light blue magic squirted around the knot as Sans' came, his hole slicked enough that the bulbous red magic popped home.

Locking them together as Sans whined in overstimulation, Edge cursed as he spilled a copious amount of magic within his Mate. The blue magic swelled, accommodating each wave of release.

Gasping and purring, Sans allowed himself to be laid on his side pressed into Edge. Red was rumbling in arousal, lidded gaze watching his sibling's cum stretch the blue magic wider.

"beautiful." He moaned, keeping his touch careful so he wouldn't come from watching Edge and Sans like this together. They basked until Edge's knot shrank.

Unwilling to waste a single drop of his Mate's release, Red leaned forward and tilted Sans' pelvis up, replacing the knot with his fingers until he was able to plug it with his own cock inside the messy entrance.

Sans squeaked and sobbed for Red, composure far gone as he came for his Alphas again, the other fucking him right through overstimulation. Cock twitching, Red snarled and snapped his hips as he chased his own orgasm.

Sans squealed as Red knotted him, whimpering for pups and begging for the fire to ease. It helped, their magic and attention but it wasn't enough.

"Do not worry, pretty Omega," Edge crooned,"we are nowhere near finished with you.

A deep purr rumbled through his bones and though it caused Sans to whimper at the pleasure, he answered Red with his own happy content. Full of his Alphas' knot was such a blissful sensation. He felt both overstimulated and safe, a juxtaposition but it was perfect.

Rolling his pelvis, the Omega contented himself with how much magic was already inside him, making his magical walls swell to contain it.

"more…" He begged.

"hush, lil' one. we'll give yer everything."

Sans whined when Red's knot went down but was quickly stuffed full again, screaming aloud this time as Edge simply chased his own orgasm. It didn't hurt, the monster was full with enough slick and release to ease anything. Overwhelmed in a stunning way, the small skeleton began to beg once more.

"pups, alpha! please!"

Twin rumbles of agreement answered his desperate cries. It was like the burning brought the ache in his soul out, his need to carry a pup and bring it into the world all on his own.

He needed it!

"Take all of it!" Was hissed by the Pack Alpha and Sans cried out in ecstasy as he was locked to Edge again, magic spilling into his clamping walls and pushing his limits. Hands pressed against the swell, Sans purred and nuzzled into both of his attentive mates.

Back arching, the Omega basked in the first wave of relief from his Heat. Knotted and resting, Sans merely laid in Edge's arms as Red stroked his skull with tender movements. He sighed and returned the attention as best he could, scenting both monsters liberally as he waited.

Sans could feel his body accepting some of the extra magic and he rumbled a happy purr at the sensation.

However, an Omegan Heat could last a few days to a week, so it wasn't a shock when the knot slipped out of his drooling cunt only for him to be mounted again. The fire was stoked by Red this time and Sans welcomed it, keening and arching back against the merciless rutting.

The Omega quickly lost count of how many knots he took, how much cum was spilled deep inside. He didn't know if it was Red or Edge fucking him like it was the last thing they would ever do. All he knew was the Heat that demanded his body to accept its sires. To urge their magic to create a pup so that the Omega's Heat would be successful.

It's all he wanted at that moment, as the hours stretched into days.

Then, like the sun breaking through a stormcloud, the burning released the Omega's exhausted bones. A soft sigh was answered by a duo of tired purring as he was kept at an angle between the two siblings, keeping their magic inside so Sans would absorb every single drop.

Gentle nuzzles and skeleton kisses brought a tired smile to the Omega's face as he waited with them. He remembered the Heat all too well but sadly, his mind decided that the tender aftercare could be lost in a fog. All the skeleton knew was that Sans had accepted every bit of magic, that his Alphas bathed the grime from his bones and that he was returned to the master bedroom.

He woke during the night to discover his Mates fast asleep and took the time to admire them. Sans had thought his first time would be forgotten if it was done during the time he burned up but was pleasantly surprised. The Omega remembered everything and was grateful for how gentle they had remained over the course of days. It was a common horror story for Alphas to get too rough and forget themselves. But Sans had been taken care of during and after.

No doubt both Alpha were hurting but they had made sure their Omega wouldn't. Softening at that sentiment, Sans curled up with his Pack and daydreamed, pushing the thought that the Heat might have failed far away.

Sans hadn't seen a babybones since Papyrus and it made his soul feel warm at the thought that perhaps soon, he would see the sight again but it would be his own. Given to him by Edge and Red. Raising his younger brother had been the best years of his life and the small monster wanted to experience it again.

Purring, the Omega basked in the daydream before drifting off into actual dreams. His two Bonded Mates and Pack slept soundly at his side.

Time would tell and Sans' entire being ached for it.

When Sans awoke next, it was to a roughened hand slowly trailing up and down his vertebrae. The Omega sighed and opened tired eye sockets, the white pins inside taking an extra moment to flare to life to gaze at Red. The Alpha was smiling fondly down at the smaller skeleton and tilted his skull to the side upon meeting his gaze.

"yer awake now, sweetheart?" He questioned and Sans sighed at his Mate.

"i feel like i slept for days…"

"that's 'cause yer did. yer heat took a lot of energy. my bro was about to worry."

He blinked at the knowledge and felt immediately guilty for making their Pack Alpha fret, it didn't matter if it was in his job description or not. Sans didn't like worrying others needlessly.

"we should get up then." The Omega insisted and didn't get very far as Red pulled him close and stood up with him in his embrace. He noted he was wearing a long red shirt that went down to his knees and flushed bright blue.

"uh, i can-"

"let me, sweetheart. we did a number on yer and just wanna spoil yer." The other monster cocked his head in askance and the Omega sighed, deciding to give in. Sans was still exhausted and his bones hinted that they had been taxed to the limit. Nodding to show he didn't mind, Red physically took him downstairs, either unwilling or deciding against a shortcut. The Omega purred and rubbed against the clothed ribs to show his gratitude as they joined Edge in the kitchen. The Pack Alpha visibly softened at the sight of both skeletons.

"Did you get enough rest, Sans?" The tallest monster questioned, drawing a hum from Sans as Red sat down at the table with the Omega on his lap. Cocking a bony brow in question, the smaller Alpha merely shrugged his shoulders and Sans settled against his Mate.

"i think so? red said i slept a long time." He offered, watching with attentive eye-lights as Edge fixed them a meal. He had yet to check the time but didn't particularly care. Sans was hungry and didn't know what meal this was, just that he needed the energy.

"It's always the Omega that expends the most magic. After all, we are only able to keep up with you by drinking any extra energy offered. I believe all of us were occupied the full week."

Sans straightened at the words,"papyrus?"

"already notified. he guessed the reason but we assured him we took care of yer." Red rumbled and Sans smiled in thanks. Edge sat down multiple plates of magic rich food, his signature lasagna, what looked like Papyrus' spaghetti, another that appeared to be butterscotch cinnamon pie…

He glanced up at both of his Mates,"please tell me this isn't a post-heat potluck."

"it's a post-heat potluck." Red answered and the Omega sighed, wondering if it shouldn't kick the other in his shins for the trouble. Their Pack Alpha was speaking again as if the exchange hadn't occurred.

"Everyone was regretful that they couldn't congratulate us on our new Mateship and Pack Status, so they sent food in place."

That made sense and sounded like what everyone would do. As Sea Tea from Undyne and Ramen from Alphys joined the mix, the Omega decided to be touched by the gesture and not embarrassed. All three of them needed the magic badly. Sans ate, ignoring the desiring looks from consuming as much food as possible. He was too sore and too hungry, thank the Angel.

It was an expected thing now anyway, despite his limited understanding of his Mate's culture and their universe. That was fine with him, as neither Edge nor Red were returning to that hellhole. Toriel's pie in particular got rid of any lingering ache, as she was the most adept at healing magic.

Sans sighed and laid his head down on the table, aware that he had eaten the fastest and glad that rather than be disgusted, his Pack was both desiring and ecstatic that the small Omega had done as his instincts dictated.

"Did we treat you well, Sans?" Edge asked when all three monsters finished eating and the Omega was denied aiding in the clean up. Flushing softly, the skeleton hummed with a small smile.

"both of you were wonderful. i have no complaints." He answered honestly.

"I understand that you haven't had time to adjust to being introduced into the Pack and becoming Mates with both of us. The Heat hit very close, nearly overlapping." His Pack Alpha searched his expression,"you should probably reacquaint yourself with your soul to take note of the changes."

Sans hummed with a frown. That was right. His soul would have changed and he had yet to examine it.

"i'll be in my nest." The smallest skeleton reassured, displaying he was fine by walking there himself on sure legs. He could feel his Pack's watchful gaze until he shut the door behind them.

Tilting his head, Sans could pick up their combined scents where the Omega sweet fragrance dominated all of it. Though it still smelled of the Heat, one of his Mates had cleaned the materials making up his Nest. It was put together nicely but the Omega took time to nitpick at it until it was perfect. Leaning back against his sparrow plushie, he exhaled slowly and brought both hands up before his rib cage.

Cyan light engulfed the room, making the shadows deeper and coloring everything in his trait. The inverted heart shaped organ was bright and healthy, better than it had been due to the two years of progress after the Resets. There were still hairline fractures but Sans was nowhere near shattering.

A state which had Frisk sobbing their eyes out and promising him that fateful day two years back that another Reset would never happen again.

Now, Sans could look at his soul without finding it flawed and ugly. Time and his sibling had done a lot for his well-being but it seems the new change had aided a lot more.

The formerly gray hairline fractures were a light purple, more magic added to the surface to strengthen where the Omega was weak. Sans was secretly glad the Bond had not left a red color on his soul.

As much as he adored the color on Edge and Red himself, Sans wouldn't react well. They were Wrath, not Determination. It was darker. But it would look too much like DT on Sans.

Beautiful on his Mates but likely to traumatize the Omega. There were just too many instances of Determination harming the small monster. During and before the Resets.

He hadn't forgotten after all…

Sans doubted he could.

Yanking his thoughts from that dark path, the Omega focused on his core and noted his Mates' presence there. Faint impressions from thoughts and emotions flickered through Sans when he focused, but otherwise, it was that they were a constant that warmed the monster. A reminder he wasn't alone and would never be from now on.

The Pack and Mate Bonds overlaid each other but worked in tandem. Sans could feel Edge and Red respectively, could sense he wasn't alone but he also could feel that they were all safe. The Mate Bond felt more like words.

The Pack Bond was all instincts, a rumble of wildness that hummed constantly. Like an alarm that would swiftly change if anything were to happen.

Following a whim, Sans purred at the Pack Bond and he received absent grumbles back that felt loving as they brushed his soul. Checking him so faintly that it wasn't an invasion.

Sans smiled.

He wasn't overwhelmed as he had feared he may be. The two siblings fit perfectly in his soul and didn't add too much. The monster very much enjoyed the two different Bonds and found he wouldn't change a thing.

Opening his eye sockets, Sans allowed the Patience Soul to return back into his ribcage and sighed as his senses returned to the mundane. Back in his fixed Nest in the bedroom the Omega now called his own.

Too comfortable to move after eating such magic laden food, the Omega's thoughts immediately honed in on one thing.

Pups.

Would their skeleton genus be proven to originate through a Heat like the rest of his kin? Would Sans be fertile and this Cycle bear fruit? Perhaps skeletons weren't rare and their low numbers dependant on getting nearly wiped out in the War?

No, that was wishful thinking. If it were that then it wouldn't be like that in two universes, confirmed. Rare but perhaps a struggle to repopulate?

Regardless, Sans so badly wanted his Soul and his scent to change. Even though they didn't know much and his connection to his Alphas were brand new, he wanted a family to include pups.

Papyrus would be over the moon, he thought with a smile. That he was hoping like this and if he gave his sibling someone to dote on. Uncle or bigger brother, Paps would be perfect, Sans knew it. Just as he could sense that Edge and Red would be excellent fathers.

He rolled over in his Nest and hugged the sparrow, realizing he was preening. Sans didn't have the first clue if what he was doing was natural but seeing as there were no other skeletons to ask, the Omega would merely follow and trust his instincts.

Right now, it was saying to rest in his Nest before going to see Papyrus, his child as far as primal connection was concerned.

There was a knock on the door and he smiled, feeling both of his Mates just outside,"come in."

At the invitation, both larger skeletons joined him in the remade Nest. Edge curled around Sans' back and Red tangled their legs at his front, effectively boxing the Omega in.

"yer okay, sweetheart?" Red cooed as Edge gingerly scent-marked the side of his skull. Purring in response, Sans nodded before linking a hand with each of his Pack.

"just relaxing and thinking about things. the bonds look healthy and strong."

Both siblings rumbled happily at that, indulgent scarlet eye-lights scanning his small body. The Omega nuzzled against both Red and Edge before humming. This was probably the most safe he had felt on the Surface, even within the Monster Embassy.

"No rebounding instincts?" Their Pack Alpha questioned and Sans frowned in thought. Ah, no. Was that maybe a good sign? He had heard about Omega becoming inconsolably angry after their Heat. A sign it hadn't been successful and their instincts lashing out at who they thought was to blame.

"no." He answered, unable to keep the softness from his eye-lights. Red beamed but didn't say anything. Edge himself just offered a noncommittal hum, as if the topic was a casual one.

But it wasn't.

Don't get too excited and hopeful, he chided himself, even as he failed in that. How long did Sans have to wait? Not long, if he were using other monster Heats as a blueprint. Still, the Omega reigned it in and swallowed down the elation that wanted to come when the anger with his Mates never occurred.

"do you wanna sleep here or in our bed tonight?" Red asked into the silence and Sans tightened his phalanges with both hands he was holding, closing his sockets.

"Here then." Edge rumbled a purr that soothed both smaller monsters. Even though Sans had only just woken up, he easily fell back to sleep sandwiched between his Mates. Now that his instincts had been soothed and his body reinforced by a meal cooked by all of his friends, the Omega was ready to bask in the connection with the two siblings before he had to return to reality.

Our daily update with some interaction between Sans and Papyrus! Please enjoy!

Chapter Text

Sans took three days to preen after his Heat Cycle had ended before he sought out his younger sibling at the Monster Embassy. The Omega knew that Edge was somewhere in the building by the low level energy humming through their Bond. Red was somewhere in the middle of Ebott, close but far enough away it was noticeable. The King and Queen had employed both skeletons recently and Sans couldn't fault them.

Edge was just as good as Undyne within the Royal Guard and Red was natural at blending in, seeming harmless when it was the exact opposite. Sans himself was still called to do Judge work but he anticipated that to be put on hold until his Heat Cycles could be tracked.

The Omega walked through the sublevels to the residential area, counting off the doors until he came to Papyrus'. He knocked and a loud voice answered.

"Come in!"

Smiling brightly, the skeleton opened the door and there was a gasp before he was swept up in his sibling's embrace.

"Sans! I did not anticipate your visit until much later! You look so well!" The Beta pulled back to search his brother's eye-lights before beaming,"oh, you ARE well! Being Bonded looks amazing on you, brother!"

Flushing a light blue, Sans huffed,"thanks, paps."

The Beta flopped on his red racecar bed and held his Omegan brother close, simply basking in their reunion. It didn't matter how short or how long they had been apart, the siblings always did this.

Sans took a long moment to take in Papyrus' room. It was a replica of both Snowdin and the room back in their previous home. This must be where everything had been moved as another monster family could have used an open house in their location.

Wherever the younger skeleton currently resided was where the original belongings followed. Of course the building itself was new, it being a part of the Monster Embassy but everything within was from Snowdin.

With the exception of the holograms, the small Omega noted the additions with bright eye-lights. A false window had a projection of the Emergence Site, the place where monsters exited Mount Ebott for the very first time. An excellent choice as it provided the best view of both the sunrise and the stars.

Smiling at it, Sans finally refocused on his sibling, who was already looking him over with a bright smile.

"what's that look for, paps?" He questioned, cocking his skull with a wry grin.

"You just look so happy, brother! That, in turn, makes me very happy! Are you eating enough? Sleeping enough? Getting woo'ed enough?"

Sans burst out laughing,"i think the woo'ing part is over."

"Nonsense, Sans! You should be woo'ed everyday! Do I have to have a very 'Alpha' talk with your Mates on how to treat you?!"

They both snickered and the Omega shook his skull,"still haven't a clue you're a beta, bro. might wanna cut them some slack."

"I would do it! It would be funny!" His sibling insisted before softening,"you are as happy as you look, right?"

Sans' soul ached at the question. There was a large part of Papyrus' life that he wouldn't be certain what his older brother was feeling because of how many masks he had to wear. How many secrets he had to keep.

But it wasn't like that. Not anymore.

"i'm happy." The Omega confirmed with a soft look and Papyrus gentled, though his smile grew wider to reveal his joy.

"enough about me, paps. let me know what's been up since the world caught fire for me." The skeleton insisted and Papyrus sputtered a laugh at the hint of Sans' Heat but then shook his skull to properly switch topics.

"Frisk and I have been extremely busy as Ambassadors. Toriel and Asgore have also been just as busy, our meetings often overlap. They got the Monster Labor Safety Laws passed but there is still no headway on the Monster/Human Equality Act." The taller skeleton sighed,"the lawyers say this is a normal situation. That it's a big step and it takes a lot of time to change the laws. I just wish it…went faster?"

Sans hummed with a nod.

"It is the law that is the most important of them. It should have been passed first, in my opinion. However, progress is progress as they say."

Sans wished he could offer a cheerful reassurance to his brother but that wouldn't be honest. It was true that making any headway with the humans was a success. However, the fact that the biggest and most important law hadn't been passed after two years of fighting was disheartening.

And suspicious…

But that was just Sans' own xenophobia over humans rearing it's ugly head. He didn't want to stereotype them or fear them. The Resets had made it difficult. He worked everyday to undo that damage.

"I know that look. Don't you dare start watching the news or listening in on your radio. Everything is fine. I would warn you if it wasn't, brother. For now, you have to focus on just one thing!"

Sans blinked and refocused on Papyrus' with a questioning hum.

"Making sure your Cycle was successful!" Papyrus beamed, though both bones were now flushed their respective orange and blue,"any inclinations about it?"

"well…i didn't get mad at them after?" Sans offered with a slight smile.

"A promising sign! Your Omega would've been angry if it sensed failure!" Papyrus insisted with an excited expression.

"following my instincts has been a lot easier since i've been taken in as a packmate and mate."

"Wonderful!"

"aside from that, i don't know, paps. i roughly know what to expect from other examples of monster heat but nothing in particular about skeletons." He admitted, causing his sibling to make a soft noise and to look out the hologram window.

The stars were coming out.

Sans was surprised Edge and Red hadn't come to get him but then remembered their Bond. They knew where he was and who he was with. It wasn't strange for them to work this late either.

"Brother?"

"hm?" His eye-lights moved to fixate back on his sibling's face, blinking at the hesitation there.

"...It will be fine if it doesn't work the first time. You can always try again."

The gentle words from his most precious person, combined with his greatest fear had embarrassingly large tears falling from the Omega's sockets. He hiccuped and the Beta cooed at him, holding the smaller monster closer.

Sans had been doing so well, not thinking about it but he knew that wasn't healthy, so he cried until his tears ran out. Until Papyrus was done rocking him. He could feel Edge outside the door, privy to his emotions but respecting he was safe and all was well.

"It will be alright, brother. With the humans. With your Bond and your Mates and especially with your Heat. Stars know you deserve happiness. Out of all monsterkind, you weathered the worst."

"thanks, papyrus." He murmured against his sibling's shoulder, touched at the words. The Beta nuzzled against his skull and Sans purred to show his gratitude.

"It is so cute to hear you doing that again! You haven't purred like this for years! I am proud of you for doing your best!"

Papyrus sighed and said a bit louder,"I suppose I also am grateful for those that make my brother purr! Come in, Edge!"

The door opened and the Pack Alpha stepped inside, offering that 'nod of acknowledgement' that Sans couldn't help but burst out laughing over. He was able to catch the puzzled look on the Alpha's face before he buried his skull into Papyrus, who was now shaking with suppressed laughter.

There was a pause then…

"Are you two fucking serious?" Edge's voice sounded like a mix of surprise and impressed. It only made the skeletons laugh harder, tears coming to the Omega's sockets.

"You owe me G, Sans!"

"red doesn't know though!"

"Do NOT tell my Mate. I want to make a bet he doesn't notice at all." Edge insisted and Papyrus gasped through his laughter.

"That is so harsh! Your sibling and your Mate! …Is he really that daft?"

Edge's raspy laughter did things to Sans that were highly inappropriate when sitting on his younger brother. He tapped Papyrus' arm to be let go before the scent of his slick could be noticed.

"He is and can be." Edge confirmed before shaking his skull in amusement,"a Beta…. Do you two do this often?"

"all the time," Sans answered with a wide grin.

"And you make bets all the time?"

"Definitely!" Papyrus agreed.

"I wish to join in. Red will as well, when he is done being angry for not noticing sooner."

"Certainly, Edge! It will be fun! Though I am guessing finding out my true dynamic is not why you are here?" Papyrus questioned with a soft smile. Edge shook his head and reached out for his Omega, Sans going willingly with a fond look.

"I dug up some reading material and wanted this one, as well as Red, to be present."

Sans looked at his Pack Alpha in open curiosity before realizing,"books on heat cycles and what to expect after?"

Edge nodded,"I know you have read a lot of them but there seemed to be more in stock at Gerson's. I thought looking through them would be important."

Grinning, Papyrus nodded and waved them away,"go on. It's late. I will be busier than usual so I only want you to return with news. Especially if it is good! Got it, brother?"

Sans nodded,"got it, paps."

"Good! Now get some rest. Goodnight, you two!" Sans watched from the comfort of Edge's embrace as they left Papyrus to his night and then cuddled into the Alpha, breathing in his scent.

"Mischievous. I expected it of you but not Papyrus." Edge teased and Sans shook with suppressed laughter.

"you'll get used to it." He soothed and a deep rumble caused him to shudder.

"If we did not have such an important activity awaiting us, I would find Red and we would take you somewhere private. I can smell your slick, Omega."

Dilated eye-lights looked up at the taller skeleton,"maybe after reading?"

"Perhaps, if you can stay awake long enough."

He had been sleeping more than usual, so Sans shrugged in a clear gesture that he was as certain as Edge was. They 'happened' upon Red on the upper level of the Monster Embassy, where Edge smacked the back of his skull.

"hey!"

"Keep sharp, Red. Anything could escape your notice!"

Sans was just barely able to keep his snort of amusement hidden at Edge playing with his new knowledge. Both of Red's bony brows rose in askance but he never got his answer. But what Pack Alpha said went so the shorter Alpha shrugged and took them all through a shortcut.

There were mostly books that Sans had read before when he was much younger, before the Human fell. However, some were old and looked promising. Despite that, there was still a startling lack of anything on skeletons. In fact, there wasn't a single mention of them anywhere.

Which meant one thing…

The Omega sighed but didn't elaborate on the gesture. Speaking his name caused more confusion and heartache than it was worth. Though Sans did wonder why the previous Royal Scientist found it necessary to erase all mention about the skeleton genus.

Perhaps what existed only did so because he and Papyrus survived that day?

Sans would only hold onto hope that it wasn't the means which skeletons were born but something else that the scientist had focused on that swallowed the information like a black hole.

"yer okay, sweetheart?" Red questioned with a soft look,"find anything?"

"no," San huffed and pushed all thoughts away to offer his Mate a smile,"i'm just tired, i think."

"ready for bed?"

"yeah, edge is already up there and i don't think there is anything new in these, sadly." The Omega closed the tome and huffed a laugh when Red pulled him right out of his seat.

Chapter Text

It was much later when Sans frowned suddenly and examined his surroundings in open puzzlement. He was relaxing in his Nest, as was usual for him these days seeing as the Omega had returned to micro-napping a few times throughout the day. At least this time it wasn't due to his low HoPe, but a byproduct of…

Well, two weeks was a bit much to still be counting towards the two magical Bonds and his Heat so-

The monster grew still, his part of the Pack and Mateship Bond going intentionally quiet on instinct. Akin to what Edge and Red sounded like when they were asleep.

Sans didn't want to broadcast his emotions right now, almost too afraid to move or even think about it. Two weeks had passed, the normal amount of time for an Omega to confirm or deny if they had reared pups successfully or not.

The small skeleton was afraid and excited all at once and that wouldn't be a good thing to send to his Mates, who were at the Monster Embassy working. Shaking, Sans tried to get a grip on himself and frowned. Calm down, it wouldn't do to get riled up and then crushed in such a short amount of time.

Approach this like…a science experiment or work, he mentally chided, searching his mind. What were the two main indicators that an Omegan Monster was pregnant?

Scent and Soul, the two 'S's taught in Monster School. The fragrance of an Omega would change, faint at first but then more powerful as the gestation period dragged on. The Soul would contain visual proof, tiny monster Souls of the pups protected inside the mother's magic. How many and their traits…

The Omega was terrified despite his mental checklist. Sans wanted this so badly, he was shaking and having to breathe slowly so he didn't tip off Edge and Red before he was prepared.

Okay.

He was doing this.

This was nothing in comparison to the suffering of the Resets. This was easy.

His eye-lights shrank as he inhaled sharply and had to try again twice because Sans had done it too shallowly. At first, the Omega thought he had imagined it but it was there each time he checked, breathing in longer each time.

Milk.

Pups always smelled like milk, mammal-bodied monster or not. The small skeleton checked his room and rooted through his Nest but no, the milky scent was definitely coming from him. There was no other possible source.

A tentative smile pulled at his teeth as the Omega closed his sockets and basked in what was now clear to him but would have to be rooted for in others. Sans made sure to memorize the scent before his body shuddered with joy.

No. No, he had to look to be certain. At least the fear was mostly gone now and the Omega was relaxed as he called forth his inverted soul. It was just as before, sucking all natural light and making everything around him cyan, casting dark shadows as intent white eye-lights scrutinized its depths.

For a soul stopping moment, Sans was nearly sure he had been wrong. Then, the tiniest bit of purple caught his attention and the Omega was transfixed. Breathing in the milky scent of his new pup, the skeleton stared at the smallest soul he had ever seen. Warmth flooded him and he chuckled, ignoring a few happy blue tears that escaped as he greeted the new soul.

"hey, i was beginning to think you were a myth! heya, pup. my tiny baby." The Omega cooed, overjoyed. A questioning pang rolled through his Bond with his two Mates and he laughed out loud.

"oops, looks like my control slipped. your fathers are suspicious." He hummed with a bright smile, not caring as he soothed both Alphas. He was fine. More than, they didn't have to worry.

"should i go to them or lead them on a chase?" The Omega asked before humming, what was he saying? Of course he would, albeit a small one. Sans had to have his fun and he had promised a certain brother news.

Especially if it was good.

So the Omega hugged his soul close, embracing it back into his body where it belonged before considering his options. Shortcut? Perhaps something to worry about when he was far along but his instincts didn't warn him away from using his own magic.

Trusting himself, Sans teleported just inside the Embassy and began to walk towards the elevators for the sublevels. He kept his emotions more guarded as he walked at a sedate pace, aware that his Alphas would approach him before he was ready. He thought he caught a glimpse of Red right as the lift doors slid shut.

Bouncing a bit in his sneakers, the Omega watched the numbers descend and he grinned as it arrived at his stop. The small monster walked through the residential unit until he hit Papyrus' room. Realizing he hadn't checked, Sans tilted his skull and reached out before feeling a wash of relief that his little sibling was inside.

He knocked.

"Come in?!"

Oh, he had really startled his brother. Shrugging to himself, the Omega figured he deserved one pass and let himself in. One look at his face and Papyrus dropped a large stack of papers to rush to his side.

Taking his hand, Papyrus knelt down with a curious expression bordering on ecstatic,"are you?!"

Unable to vocally reply, Sans nodded rapidly with tears entering his eye sockets. Cheering in delight, Papyrus gathered him up and breathed in the milky scent.

"Oh, Sans! You did it! Edge and Red did it! You're pregnant with pups! WAIT!" He held the laughing Omega at arm's length,"did you tell me first?!?"

"yes!" Sans managed with a wheezing laugh and Papyrus beamed, smug.

"HAH! I love you, Sans! How many? Did you check?"

"just the one, paps," he chuckled before he tilted his head,"better let me down. i'm making them chase me and red can teleport."

Familiar with their games, the Beta laughed brightly before putting the Omega down,"I didn't hear anything from you."

He nodded and took a shortcut right back into his Nest. Eagerly tracking his Mate, Sans snickered when he felt Red jump in the Embassy followed by confusion. Ah, he better shortcut and Sans needed to…

"hah!"

"ahhh!" The Omega got snatched just as he teleported downstairs to the couch, a smug sharp smile beaming at him.

"got yer! now what the fuck yer doi-?"

"wait!" Sans covered Red's smile with his hands,"get edge here before he kills us both!"

His Alpha Mate frowned, falling still before sighing and then…freezing. Oh. Oh no. Red's nose aperture pressed more firmly against his small phalanges and those crimson eye-lights shrunk.

"i don't know nothing! yer called me!"

Sans was suddenly free and he laughed uproariously at the reaction. If that was any indication of how his Alphas would react to the actual birth, he was counting the days! The Omega rolled upright and purred, waiting for both of his Mates.

He knew his Pack Alpha wouldn't kill them and Red would realize after the fact. Sans did expect some sort of punishment from Edge for telling Papyrus first and for Red finding out, but it wouldn't be serious.

The shorter Alpha dragged a very nonplussed taller Alpha through a shortcut, Red panicked and Edge scrutinizing their Omega for injuries.

Deciding to soothe both monsters, Sans' purr grew louder and he smiled gently, reaching out for Edge. The tension eased from the Pack Leader and he was engulfed in strong arms. One of his hands twined with Red as Edge scent-marked him before slowing the process…

Tentative scarlet eye-lights pulled back as Edge inhaled his scent before speaking,"Omega…"

Red squeezed his hand as Sans beamed,"i'm happy. my mates gave me a pup their first try." Sans cooed as Edge's expression brightened, the most sincere smile the Omega had ever seen stretching across his skull. They fell into the couch and the Omega laughed as he was smothered by both of his Mates. They were smiling and laughing, eager to take in the scent of their wiggling Omega. To memorize the milky undertone that belonged to their first child together.

"fuck, yer smell so good carrying our pup!" Red praised, rubbing his skull into small ribs as if that could carry his own smell right to Sans' soul.

"Just the one?" Edge questioned and the Omega huffed.

"'just'?!"

"We will be certain to try harder next time."

"hey, let this one be born first! oh stars!" He yelped as he was trapped between both of his Mates. Edge looked down at him for a moment before huffing.

"I suppose I cannot be too pissed, even with your little excursion to the Embassy and back. Your punishment will be light."

Sans got all of one second before shrieking with laughter as both monsters rained checks down on him, making sure they had enough bite to stir his magic. He huffed and apologized until both Alphas stopped, looking far too pleased with themselves.

The ticklish magic faded as Edge leaned forward and twined their tongues, the Omega shivering as Red's fingers trailed up and locked over where his soul was. Breaking from one Mate to turn into the other's deep kiss, the trio finally calmed down and let the reality sink in.

"there wasn't any hint of this being possible, i'm glad i worried for nothing." Sans murmured, nuzzling into his Bonded Pack.

"same, sweetheart." Red echoed as he closed his eye sockets, inhaling the pup scent on Sans deeply.

"We checked our own world years ago, though books were harder to come by. I still find it odd that there was no mention of skeletons anywhere. Not even once."

Sans frowned and nodded at his Pack Alpha's words. Gaster or not, someone had either hid something or they really were that rare. It could easily be either option that it unsettled the Omega enough that Red and Edge began rumbling a purr for him.

"No need to worry, Sans. Our pup will be fine. Red and yourself can shortcut, which is invaluable. Do you need-"

"no guarding me until i'm showing," Sans quickly cut in,"i'll be fine using magic until then."

"instincts?" Red checked and Sans nodded firmly to show he had no doubts. The tallest Alpha relented, knowing that being too protective too soon would stress the Omega needlessly.

"Very well, but I want you to be vigilant when we are not together. Am I understood?" Edge questioned in a tone that brooked no nonsense from either monster.

"understood." Sans replied with a light expression, happy his word was taken seriously. Edge and Red would grow more protective as time went on. They didn't need to start the process in high-alert or the monster would lose his mind.

"i'll start visiting the embassy everyday," he promised,"if not paps, i can find someone to meet with. they'll want to know the happy news and i know alphys could use the company or help."

"As if you haven't already told Papyrus," Edge scolded and he hummed neutrally.

"i won't use a lot of magic." Sans conceded in terms of helping Alphys and it was only then that the tension left his Mates. The gazes on him changed from worried to devoted, the Omega nuzzling into both monsters with a smile.

"thank you. this is the best thing you both could ever give me."

"no thanks for this, love. yer giving us more than we ever anticipated." Red replied and Edge's arms curled around them both.

This was more than any of them hoped for. A loving Pack with a solid Mateship. Now a pup was growing safely within the culmination of all that made the Omega who he was. It felt like a dream and the smaller skeleton was happy for this chance, as impossible as it sounded. Two Alpha Mates from a different universe giving Sans what he denied himself his entire life.

He would have thought himself insane if the Omega had heard about it just a year prior.

The next month was definitely a learning process that was almost painful. The skeleton trio had quickly learned that talking about their instincts was a far cry from actually experiencing them.

Edge called the Omega far too much. Reminiscent of how Papyrus used his phone in the Underground. It would have been an endearing reminder if it wasn't for the fact that it was atypical behavior. He didn't even call with any subject other than to nearly interrogate Sans on how he was feeling.

A moot point, seeing as their two Bonds were strong and could easily answer that.

Red was even worse since he could physically pop in to do exactly what his younger sibling was doing. He also did it at any time, it didn't matter if the Omega was busy or not.

Sans eventually snapped, having had more than enough. Glowering up at both of his Mates, he tore into them verbally about going back on their agreement, insisting they not disturb him because he was going to see Queen Toriel, damnit!

They didn't follow.

It seems they had either a healthy respect for her or fear of her. It didn't matter to Sans as he located the Queen in a meeting and simply sat against the wall, the humans glancing at him but used to skeletons showing up at such things.

Their eyes met enough to communicate that he was there to see her and that it wasn't pressing.

Instead of dwelling on his rocky emotions, Sans tuned into the meeting and swiftly discovered it was about the human riots. Most humans at the table were peaceful protesters questioning what they could do or say. Interested, the Omega listened in.

"The participants are roughly the same people and numbers, with small fluctuations. I imagine that many don't have the schedule to attend each one. So what we are seeing are fanatics with nothing else to do." A brown haired human said with a frown and their blond partner shrugged before speaking up.

"Or they don't have any obligations. They are violent and vocal but there isn't any signs of a surge of support for anti-monster sentiment."

Asgore sighed, leaning his chin in a massive paw,"while it would bring me much peace to accept that, a small few is sometimes all that it takes. You say they are vicious…have they let on what their goal is aside from the usual?"

The humans shifted uncomfortably before the main speaker opened his mouth again,"aside from either forcing you back under the mountain or killing you? No, to me it seems they are just there to spew hate. They don't seem organized, if that is what you are afraid of, Your Majesty?"

"Then it seems we still have time to focus on passing the needed laws, if that is the case. You will let us know if anything at all changes?" The Patriarch questioned as Toriel looked on in controlled concern. The humans smiled and nodded.

"Right away, even if we have to run straight here!"

The Omega smiled at the words, feeling a warmth in his soul. This was good. Despite the reasons of his arrival to this meeting, it was good that Sans had heard this. These humans seemed like a good bunch.

"If that is all, we should break for lunch. Please review the electronic schedule for anything you may want to participate in today. If there is nothing else, please have an amazing day." The King stood, a signal for everyone to take their leave.

Asgore beamed down at Sans and they exchanged a nod as the Omega approached the sitting Queen, dodging around humans that were packing up.

"Sans! It's good to see you, my dear. How is pregnancy treating you?" Toriel asked him in a gentle voice. He accidentally bumped a human and apologized as they smiled briefly before hurrying after the others that were already leaving.

"the pregnancy is fine. it's my mates that are driving me up the wall." He grumbled, sighing as the Queen drew him into an embrace. Nothing could quite compare to hugs from Tori. Though she was an Omega, her status as a Boss Monster caused her form to be huge. The softness and scent of the pies she cooked soothed the small monster.

"Ah, well! That is to be expected with the firstborn. Would you be a dear and take a shortcut to my personal quarters? We can speak further there in private."

Happy for the invitation and the promise of lunch with his old friend, they fell through space and time to what would seem like a curious sight. If one wasn't wiser, they would swear they had just stepped out of the Ruins and into Toriel's home in the Underground. But as with the rest of the Monster Embassy, this wasn't the case.

Sans and Toriel were still on the Surface and inside the structure, one of the lowest but most magic infused sublevels. The Omega knew that if he were to step 'outside' Toriel's home, it would look like the peak of Mount Ebott. Covered in actual golden flowers and…

His eye-lights softened as he took a seat, the goat woman beaming at him as she fixed hot cocoa and snail pie.

Sans' eye-lights flickered to a window, spotting two graves from his vantage point sitting at the table. The Six Souls had been moved here in secret and here was where the children were laid to rest, their bodies and souls safe here.

Averting his gaze back to Toriel, Sans scanned his friend for any of that sorrow. It would always be there but it seemed freedom and Frisk had lightened that burden. Her movements were dainty and her expression thoughtful, not morose.

"So! Tell me what these two boneheads are doing that drove you into my arms?" Toriel started with a grin, setting down two mugs that smelled heavenly. The Queen did serve tea but that was more of Asgore's thing.

"scandalous, tori! you make it sound like we're doing something for the tabloids." He gasped before laughing with the other Omega.

"I kid, Sans! Obviously why you are here!"

He laughed at the pun before catching his breath and gazing at the Monarch fondly,"if it was just a matter of waiting for the pup to get here, i would be fine."

"Yet…" Toriel urged with sparkling purple eyes and Sans sighed, shoulders slumping.

"they won't give me room to breathe, toriel! we had even went over a plan to make this easier for everyone and it's like that conversation never happened!" He complained. She hummed, delicately sipping on her steaming mug before her gaze trailed off, softening to appear to be looking at something very far away.

"When…I was carrying little Asriel…"

Sans' soul felt like it skipped. Oh stars, Toriel had never spoken about her son in any of the resets. He didn't look directly at her and didn't speak, afraid to break this fragile moment.

"Asgore was a veritable bear instead of a goat. He couldn't decide if he wanted to smother me in affection or warn everyone away! Nonsense!" She huffed but she was smiling.

"he's a teddy bear." The small Omega accused and that forced tinkling laughter from the Queen.

"Sans! Well, you aren't wrong! Are you dealing with two teddy bears?" She asked.

Sans huffed,"the most violent teddy bears. they would attack someone and cuddle me in the same breath."

"Good thing there are two of them, yes?"

"tori!"

"Hehehe! I joke with you, my friend. However, I do have some advice that may help with your problem." Toriel grinned as Sans perked up, taking a bite of snail pie herself.

"what is it?" He questioned eagerly and she chewed before grinning in remembrance.

"You can use every Omega's magic words! If they hover too much, if they are too easily riled, if they won't listen to you…call them out on it. 'Bad Alpha'! It will always harken to their basest of instincts for their most vulnerable mate to chastise them."

Eye sockets widening, Sans lowered his fork and frowned,"i don't want to call them bad…"

"Trust me, Sans. They are doing you a disservice by being so bullheaded. You worked out something everyone would appreciate logically, correct?" The Queen questioned, tilting her head as she smiled sweetly.

"yeah, we did."

"Then they are being bad. Instincts are all well and good but if they are working against you, you have to use what is at your disposal. Stress isn't good for the pup, so you'll want to nip this in the bud as quickly as possible." She advised the younger monster. Sans stared down at his lunch for a moment, deciding to broach the topic as delicately as possible.

"did it work…for the prince?" He questioned, eye-lights shrinking at bringing the tragic child up.

But Toriel only smiled tenderly,"Asriel's pregnancy was a stress-free endeavor after I learned those magic words from my mother. Don't let your Alphas boss you around, my dear. You are carrying their pup, they should be doting on you."

The Omega grinned and returned to his meal. Tori was right. Edge and Red would only get worse as time went on and Sans was already at his limit. He didn't want them like this the whole pregnancy or they might actually murder one another.

"Say, Sans?" Toriel spoke up as she gathered all of their dishes.

"hm?"

"Your pup, may I ask what their trait is?" The Queen spoke delicately, as if this was a question that may be rude. The skeleton wasn't sure but he was happy to let her in on it, especially with the help Toriel just provided.

"perseverance."

The gentle Queen smiled fondly and nodded,"lovely. I cannot wait to meet them."

Sans softened and hummed,"i can't either."

"You'll be a wonderful mother."

It suddenly felt like it was harder to breathe and Sans was enfolded in loving arms, shushed by the goat monster as he reacted to her words. It eased something tight and old inside his soul that the Omega hadn't known had been there. Of course those words would help. Sans couldn't remember a mother, so how would he know how to be one himself? He barely remembered a father and that was a fluke.

"you're a good role model, tori." The skeleton managed and the laughter in return sounded a bit watery.

"Nonsense, you silly skeleton. You did amazing with Papyrus. You will do just as well with your own pup!" She chastised and he laughed before they simply held each other for a long time in silence.

"Come to me anytime you need me, my dear." Toriel soothed and Sans nodded in agreement, happy for the open invitation.

Realizing their lunch had dragged on too long, Sans offered the Queen a shortcut, which was happily accepted. She returned to carrying the mantle of Monsterkind along with Asgore, together but still not reconciled.

Sans returned home to two frantic Mates and he straightened his shoulders through the lectures and demands, deciding to wait until both of them were properly home before following Toriel's advice. The hours were filled with the same, Edge calling like a borderline stalker and Red being too comfortable interrupting Sans no matter what he was doing.

The Omega could feel the stress in his bones so at least this would be coming from a foundation of truth. Sans was waiting for his Pack when they got home exactly the second they were able, more than ready to bring this chaos under control.

Chapter Text

Sans sat in silence for a bit, hearing both of his Mates go over the same topic for at least the twentieth time before he held up a hand for their attention. The argument went a bit longer than he liked but Edge and Red eventually gave him their full attention.

"please don't talk until i'm finished. didn't we agree the day i became pregnant that my increased time in the embassy and the fact that i can shortcut meant i didn't need guarding?" He began tersely.

"We did but certainly increased phone calls and check-ins are not 'overdoing' it."

Sans twitched at the word he used before being tossed back at him in this argument.

"if red popped in during my lunch with the queen, she would have been furious. her level is by invitation only." The Omega insisted. Red shrugged.

"i'm sure the queen would under-"

Okay, Sans had enough,"you both are bad alphas!" His snapped words had an immediate effect, Edge and Red freezing, staring at Sans in confused shock. He glared at them, making sure they knew he was serious.

"We are not…bad Alpha,"it sounded like Edge was trying to figure out a particularly vexing puzzle,"we are only protecting our pregnant Omega…"

"no! you're not listening to me! you're stressing me out and it's stressing out the pup!" Sans cut off the Pack Alpha firmly. Edge and Red stared at the Omega for a long moment before the words finally seemed to strike home. Even a monster in stripes understood that you didn't unduly stress a pregnant Omega. Sans sat in stony silence, eye-lights moving from one Mate to the other to make sure the message had sunk in.

"Sans, I must apologize. I did not realize our actions were putting stress on you and the pup." The Pack Alpha began only to have Red rushing out words to express his own misgivings.

"shit, sweetheart. we didn't mean to. we just want what's best for yer both!" The shorter Alpha insisted with a sincerity that softened the Omega's ire.

"i know why you're both doing it but it isn't necessary. we already came up with a plan, a rational one that isn't led by instinct. …do you two want me to feel like my opinion doesn't matter? that's a good way to piss me off and keep me stressed." He averted his gaze and frowned,"if i lost this pup because of one of you…"

The threat was clear. He loved and was Bonded to both of these monsters. But Sans could fully understand Toriel's continued rage in regards to Asgore at just the thought. What if this was a miracle pup and the Omega could never conceive again?

"Sans…"

Eye-lights tiny and full of potential threat, the smallest skeleton watched as Edge dropped to his knees in front of the couch before him. The Pack Alpha was radiating apologies and regret.

"Forgive our idiocracy, Omega. We could not see how our actions were distressing you. Red and I would never want to bring harm to you or our pup." The tallest Alpha looked up at Sans in askance,"forgive us?"

The skeleton frowned and bristled,"no more excessive calls? no more teleporting? no guard until i am heavy with magic and pup?"

"I promise, Sans. No more." Edge vowed and Red stepped forward, holding out his hands.

"i promise, sweetheart. i'm sorry." The rough voice was solemn and gentle. The Omega felt the tension leave his shoulders but he still didn't accept the touch, not just yet. Just like Red, Sans didn't make promises lightly. He needed Edge and Red to know exactly how serious he was.

"if either of you go back on your word, i'm going to move in with the queen and you won't see me until after the birth." He threatened, looking at them both.

Depriving an Alpha of being present during the birth was the highest injury an Omega could deal. Those crimson eye-lights shrank and both skeletons nodded. Finally feeling as though he broke through, Sans reached out a hand to both of his Mates. His phalanges were accepted with the utmost care, gingerly scent-marked and kissed.

"i'm not mad anymore. this argument is behind us." Sans murmured, making sure to impart a soft tone. He wouldn't carry a grudge, they wouldn't use his words as ammo. This was closed and dealt with. His Mates hummed, acknowledging the promises from the Omega through their Bond before joining Sans on the couch.

"i'm so-"

Sans huffed at Red,"no, it's done. no more apologies. just keep your promises and i'll keep mine."

His alternate grinned, nuzzling into his side,"yer a breath of fresh air, Sans. arguments in our universe didn't play out like this."

"well, mine does." The Omega stared firmly before kissing first Red and then Edge chastely. Surrounded by them both, he realized just how much this past month had been a departure from how they originally were. No more companionable silences, no snuggling without worries. Since the pup had been confirmed, the siblings had immediately become too much to handle.

It seemed both monsters were realizing this alongside the Omega.

"We should go on a date. To a movie or to one of the diners in the Embassy. Some of them are run by humans learning how to cook magic food."

Sans laughed at the thought,"that sounds like dinner and a movie. paps did say i needed to be 'woo'ed' and we haven't been on a official date, yet."

"Our apologies." Edge answered in complete seriousness.

"he said i should be 'woo'ed' everyday," Sans teased.

"yer bro's right."

"what?"

Sans hadn't been expecting agreement, just laughter at Papyrus' shenanigans. Edge stood up and took both smaller monsters with him, an Omega and a Collared Alpha under each arm.

"I agree with Papyrus. We should be treating you like treasure everyday. Especially now that you are carrying our pup." The Pack Alpha turned to the kitchen,"shortcut back to the Embassy, brother. We are going on a date."

Welp, this was happening. Sans blinked as they leapt through time and space, ending up just outside the elevators. There were wards up that prevented teleportation directly in. Once they were, it was fine. That part of the design was created specifically for and by Sans. And now Red.

Edge placed them on their feet and the Omega smiled wide, taking both of their offered hands. This was a spectacular turn of events. Sans should have gone to Toriel sooner, it would have saved them trouble.

The lift took them deep into the sublevels, the three skeletons disembarking on the floor that held the Food Court and the budding restaurants.

"here, this one is similar to grillby's but has more options," Red motioned and the tallest Alpha nodded before they entered an old styled diner. To Sans' delight, the kitchen was open and headed by one monster over young humans.

They sat and Sans chuckled at how harried some of them appeared. This was what he needed. Seeing humans working with them, learning from them. He quickly gained a favorite in the smallest, most fierce out of them.

"she's trying so hard," Sans marveled as a human took their order. Sure enough, burgers and fries were the main faire but they had 'dogs and a burger made from the same plant. Edge went with one of those, glancing over at the working humans with a small smile.

"She is. I bet she'll take this joint over when the chef is needed elsewhere." The Alpha mused. Red stifled his laughter when a plate was smashed by the tallest human, who looked aghast.

"at least it isn't that other monster chef! he barely instructs anymore but fuck if they don't tear the humans apart. i'm shocked there isn't any damage dealt, ouch!"

Sans wanted to see that, his grin widening. Edge softened at the sight.

"We should be having dates everyday, Papyrus sanctioned or not. You do not leave the house much."

The Omega sighed at that and shook his head,"it's a leftover from the underground."

"it's been two years, love." Red reminded and alright, yes. Sans knew this would come up but not so plainly.

"i'm afraid of the humans." The small Omega breathed but he knew his Mates heard him by how they felt through the Bond. Sorrow and old anger on his behalf. They didn't say anything but Sans watched those in his midst. There were good humans. Like these. So good. But there were also so many bad humans.

So many humans they weren't sure of.

It felt almost like the Resets, except there were many Determined souls. Though what soothed Sans the most was that of everyone in the entire world…

Frisk was the most Determined of them all.

It's why Resets just didn't happen. Only the strongest red soul could pull it off and they had sworn it was all over.

They were moving forward.

It was progress. A very good thing that two years had passed, that they had built the Embassy and were working on all the laws needed. Gentle phalanges brushed away tears Sans hadn't noticed fall.

"ah.." The small skeleton didn't know what to say.

"You can see their good souls, just like Red," Edge soothed,"your world has more good in it than ours did. Things will work out. It's natural for you to fear them but if a human comes after you, we will protect you. Protect our pup. Trust that we can do that and focus on flourishing."

Sans smiled shakily up at his Pack Alpha as Red nuzzled into his vertebrae, purring for the first time that month.

"missed that." Red murmured against his neck, lightly scraping his fangs over his Mark.

"As have I." Edge agreed, though he was frowning as the realization of how horrible the Pack atmosphere had been for them all lately.

Their food arrived and Sans dug in, happy to note that even though the humans were no Grillby, that it tasted wonderful. Watching the humans was enough entertainment as well. Though they made mistakes, they laughed and smiled at their monster chef. It was obvious there was respect and care there.

It was…amazing.

What monsters and humans could accomplish together. He really needed to make time to see Frisk. Well, it was more like Frisk finding the time to see him. It wasn't like back in the old days, where the kid could drop by whenever. They were finally growing up and took their job as Monster Ambassador very seriously.

It had been too long since their last conversation.

"thank you for the date. that's a first for me." The Omega admitted over their finished meal, tipping the humans in both sets of currency as they had passes to be here. Gold was always better in the Embassy.

"a date everyday until you're sick of us, sweetheart." Red joked and the Omega shook his head, allowing himself to be picked up and leaning against Edge's chest. He took comfort in their close proximity, able to pick out each of his Mates' souls. They walked the paths of the Monster Embassy until declaring it a night.

The argument was behind them, their instincts appeased by their first date and promises. It was with a light soul that the Omega chose to share the master bedroom rather than retreat to his Nest.

Sans felt lighter and trusted Edge and Red to do as they had sworn. Scenting the Pack Alpha and then his other Alpha mate, Sans settled between them and began to purr. Deeper rumbles of content joined his own and the Omega sighed happily.

If he dreamed that night, bad or good, the Omega didn't remember it and woke up the next morning happier, his Mates already following their original plan.

They were going to be okay. The first argument was always the most difficult.

Chapter Text

It was a drawn out process but the skeleton monster got their chance about two months later to meet with the human Monster Ambassador. It seems like Frisk was always somewhere, even so physically far that Sans couldn't shortcut to them. The Omega hadn't realized that the child had been venturing out so far in the world. Simply one of the many things, he didn't know. All that Sans was certain of was that Papyrus was always updated on them, whether in meetings with them in person or video calling them everyday.

It was in coordinating with his younger sibling that they finally had time to meet within the Monster Embassy.

Sans beamed when he caught sight of them. Damn, the kid was taller than he was now, their skin just as kissed by the sun and when they turned to notice his approach, their soul reverberated with joy. He was rushed by Frisk and caught up in their embrace, chuckling as they swung him around in their exuberance.

"woah, kiddo. you are as strong as paps now to toss me around like that!" He laughed as they sat him down, their hands coming up to gesture towards the lift where they could go to Toriel's home.

"no shortcut?"

Frisk raised one eyebrow, shook their head and cradled their arms. His soul immediately warmed at their caution. If the dark haired child was unwilling to take a shortcut to risk Sans' unborn pup, then Frisk would definitely never do anything more lasting.

"alright, kid. lead the way." Sans beamed and trailed after the human. The crowd greeted them both but didn't interfere, thankfully. It might have to do with that expression of Determination and purposeful walk Frisk adopted but they were within the elevator and everyone else got off at their levels while theirs required both a key card and passcode.

The monster and human disembarked, bright eye-lights growing wider at the sight within Frisk's soul as they took in what they regarded as Home.

"how long has it been?" The Omega questioned softly. Though Frisk's hands moved with the sign language they knew, Sans could hear their 'voice' loud and clear without it.

-Too long. I've missed everyone. Especially you,- they turned briefly before motioning to the skeleton,-I heard all about Edge and Red but can you tell me about them?-

He softened, looking at the golden flowers they passed as they both made their way into the house proper,"it was weird at first. having an 'alternate' of me and paps but they were different enough that it didn't last. they look similar and have some mannerisms that can call back to us but nothing that you would think uncanny.'

Frisk sighed as they entered the home and raided the refrigerator with a grin, an entire pie that the Queen had no doubt made just for them and their homecoming being brought out and placed on the table.

"we really gonna finish that thing by ourselves?" The Omega questioned and Frisk huffed laughter before pointing at him.

-you're eating for two, now. mom won't care.-

He warmed at the words but shook his skull,"i dunno, frisk. tori may still get on me if you get a stomachache."

The human shrugged, cutting out two large slices before setting at the kitchen table with Sans, leaning forward eagerly as they watched him and shoveled cinnamon butterscotch into their face.

"i'm guessing my bro told you." The Omega said, taking his own bite and the child grinned wolfishly. They didn't even stop eating to sign, all pretenses gone with the promise of good food and better gossip.

-I probably knew before your Mates! Papyrus was losing his mind!- The child gentled, smiling wide down at Sans,-I was so happy and excited all at once! I never thought this would happen!-

The skeleton grinned, remembering the culture shock that had occurred with the human when they first fell. It was still odd to think that humans didn't have secondary genders. No Alpha, Beta or Omega dynamics among them. Frisk had been fascinated but it seemed the reality of Sans getting pregnant as an Omega hadn't sunk in until it had actually happened.

-how many pups?-

Sans snorted,"you're just as bad as my alphas. just the one this time. probably for the best i don't have a litter right off."

Frisk paused, cheeks bulging,-... can you have a litter?-

He shrugged,"your guess is as good as mine, kiddo. we've searched for answers and there are none. even in the older books gerson has.-

-Do you think that Ga-

"careful, frisk. You shouldn't talk about someone who is listening." The Omega interrupted with a dark look. Frisk then made a face and made a very adult gesture that startled laughter from the skeleton.

"kid! i thought that particular sign was only for adults!" He gasped through chuckles and the human shrugged.

-Shouldn't be eavesdropping then! Besides, I'm nearly a teenager now, Sans!- They sat up straighter as they finished their piece of pie, signing once more now that their hands were free.

At the reminder, the Omega sat up as well,"does that mean you'll be dropping the stripes soon?"

Frisk hummed, looking down at their pink and purple striped shirt with fondness,-yeah, I think that's about right.-

Change has always been hard for both of them. Sans knew that Frisk struggled with their body and that with humans, their body was going to change soon whether they liked it or not.

"you can always come to me, kid. if it gets to be too hard. remember?"

A blanket of quiet fell over them as the topic that both connected them and had harmed them came up. The barest traces of tears touched their eyes before they wiped them away with a striped sleeve. Frisk leaned forward and held out their pinky finger. Sans grinned, bittersweetness thrumming through his soul. Their fingers tangled as they reaffirmed their promise.

-No more Resets.- Frisk told him with the utmost sincerity.

"no more resets," the Omega agreed. The dark haired child pulled back and sighed, motioning at their old friend.

-Especially now. I definitely promise. Your pup is in no danger from me. Or your Mates or any other pups you may have. We move forward.-

"we do."

They sighed and considered the pie with a longing expression,-I won't lie. I have thought about it. I thought we'd be further along than this. And the thought of something happening to one of you…-

The Omega shook his head,"i know, buddy. but i've told you before. you can't save everyone, even if you want to. maybe underground but not up here. it's not contained and there are just so many people."

-I understand. Believe me, I do.-

"i believe you."

-It keeps me up at night sometimes. I always ask but…-

"i'm certain, frisk. if something bad happens, it's life. if someone dies, even paps…we grieve like we should."

-Even Edge and Red? Even your pup?-

That hurts but Sans knows Frisk doesn't mean ill by it. They genuinely want to know and have to ask.

"even then. no one was meant to have that power over time and space. we already have a good example not to mess with it. who knows what sort of damage we have already done? our promise will stand, no matter what. that cycle can't be started again. mate and pups aside, you know i wouldn't be able to go through that again."

-I know. I'm so sorry.-

"and you know you don't have to be sorry anymore."

They smiled sheepishly, still rubbing their fist in circles over their chest,-i know.-

A companionable silence fell between them as the Omega watched Frisk eat far more pie than Toriel probably would approve of. Of course, the goat monster would be flattered by how much her human child adored her cooking but Sans could only hope their tolerance had increased.

He wondered if Edge and Red had their own Fallen Human but figured that was a moot point. Surely that would have been brought up if it was important to them. If their Underground was really so violent, even to Omega at times, despite their importance, then a human would have no chance.

Red didn't seem to carry as many secrets as Sans did, so his soul was leaning towards 'no.' That, or they never got a Determined soul. While the Omega was curious at times about their universe, it seems better to look towards the future.

Just like his and Frisk's promise.

Honestly, there was already too much to worry about than to consider possible scenarios. They were still fighting for peace and equality, that took precedence.

And before that, more personally, their pup and Bond came before even that.

-Do they make you happy?- The dark haired human asked after they ate half of the pies, considering the Omega with a careful eye. Sans smiled and nodded.

"yeah, kid. they make me happy. we had a bit of a learning curve but we're settled now."

The child Ambassador beamed and grabbed both of Sans' hands, holding tight,-then I'm happy for you! Paps wasn't worrying anymore and now I won't either! So have you thought of any names for the pup, yet?!-

Sans shrugged,"monsters sometimes wait for the birth. going with tradition, it'll be a font name."

-Impact!- Frisk made an explosive sign.

"kid…"

-Courier!- They made the sign for 'mailman' and Sans shook his skull ruefully at their antics.

-Open Sans!- They waggled their brows as they signed out 'open sesame' and the Omega barked a laugh.

"good one, frisk, but no. it's something that'll happen between me and my pack."

The child pouted but smirked at their play,-alright, alright.-

Sans smiled when their shoulders dropped and they returned the look,-you will let me know when the pup is born, right?-

"kiddo, if you are close enough, I will send red to get you." He swore and Frisk beamed before dropping a bit.

-If I had time, I would meet them. Edge and Red. But I have to leave tomorrow.- They signed, looking regretful. Sans frowned in response.

"already?"

Their face fell into that familiar expression,-I won't stop until monsters get their equality and the riots die down. It's been over two years, my species needs to calm down and accept monsters. You've been nothing but kind and understanding! There will not be another war.-

Sans was touched.

"wouldn't want anyone else fighting for us, frisk." He murmured and they perked up happily, before shrinking into their seat when the front door opened. Toriel came inside and looked at what remained of the pie, sighing long and loud.

"My child…" She began before the Omega cut her off.

"sorry, tori. it's my bad this time."

The Boss Monster narrowed her purple eyes at them, scrutinizing both skeleton and human,"Sans, if you are using your pregnancy as a cover for my child, you should reconsider."

The skeleton was unrepentant as Frisk kept their perfect poker face,"actually, i was going to ask if i could take the rest home. my mates enjoyed it last time."

Toriel squinted down at them both but couldn't help her smile, especially when Frisk moaned in annoyance,"well, I cannot turn that down. Please tell Edge and Red to enjoy and send my regards."

The Omega wasn't too guilty and he held out his arms for Frisk, who took advantage and spun him, holding him tight.

They would see each other again. Sooner. He made sure to tell them as much, garnering a soft look from Toriel as they parted. Frisk's soul pulsed with open affection for Sans as the Omega left with the pie. He took the lift up, feeling lighter now that he had been able to see them again. It really had been too long…

Edge and Red were waiting at the lift doors and he startled a bit, before shaking his head. His Mates weren't used to the concept of Frisk and had been unnerved when Sans had revealed their history. His expression chastised them and reassured them that he was fine. They had nothing to fear from Frisk.

They both relaxed and he handed off the pie to Edge, knowing they had yet to take their lunch and deciding to join them while he was here. They had yet to have their date today and one held over Toriel's cooking sounded just fine to the Omega

Chapter Text

Another month flew by the Pack and the Omega was wondering if he would begin showing soon. It was around that time with other monsters and he could feel this odd sensation in his soul that Sans hadn't experienced before. He felt the pull to be around his Alphas more often than not and gave into the instinct.

Edge and Red had noted the change in behavior, more than happy to keep their Omega near. He was always carrying their scent and often took his naps in the arms or on their laps.

When they arrived home that night, he was deposited on the softer couch instead of placed at the kitchen table. Humming, Sans nuzzled into the soft fabric and listened to his Mates moving around in preparing dinner.

"not feeling a date today, sweetheart?" A deep voice rumbled near his head and the skeleton opened his eye sockets. Waking a bit at Red's proximity, the Omega turned to twine their phalanges.

"dinner at home sounds better." He replied and the Alpha nodded, attempting to get up but Sans stopped him. Red shot him a puzzled expression before softening as the Omega kissed him softly. Pulling back, wanting and gentle crimson eye-lights stared down at the other monster.

"i want to be close with you both tonight,"the Omega insisted with a soft blue flush. Sharp fangs tilting upwards and voice just a tad rougher, his Mate replied.

"of course, love. anything yer want."

Sans purred and closed his sockets again, happy that his needs had been communicated and were going to be met. He could hear the low murmur of Red passing it onto Edge, their Pack Alpha sending waves of affection through their Bond.

Before being in this Pack and Bonding, communicating what Sans wanted had been like pulling teeth. Now there was the reassurance that there was little Edge and Red would not do for him.

A touch on his face had the Omega humming and looking up at Edge with hazed eye-lights.

"You fell asleep, Sans. Are you sure you don't want dinner and then sleep?"

The Omega woke himself up appropriately and sat up, shaking his head. Edge picked him up and took him to his chair at the table, something that Sans would usually put up a fuss about but didn't right now. It felt right.

Sans murmured a thank you before digging in silently. Edge had been attempting to replicate some of the food of their date locations and it had been a journey. Supporting the Pack Leader was easy, buying cook books and chatting up the people at the restaurants at the Embassy.

So far, most had been a success, much to the Pack's collective delight. Seeing Edge succeed made both Red and Sans happy. It was only natural, after all.

The Omega insisted on aiding in cleaning up the kitchen, something he usually was barred from or didn't care for. Even Red joined tonight, gentle brushes and wide smiles exchanged between the three monsters.

Could they feel it too? From Sans through the Bond, at the very least.

Edge finished up and both smaller skeletons were caught up in the Pack Leader's embrace. Red grumbled but there was a smirk on his face as Sans nuzzled into both of them with a snort of a laugh.

"i feel fine," Sans insisted before they could ask as they stepped over the threshold to the master bedroom. The Omega didn't want his Nest right now, he felt the compulsion to be with his Pack more.

"Of course," Edge murmured, drawing the covers back and placing both of them down. Red flopped back, drawing a chuckle from the Omega but he quickly held their attention when he began to undress.

His soul was a lot brighter than usual, the small pup's within his own now defined and healthy. The Omega purred and chirped when both fathers joined him and lavished his small ribs with attention. He sighed and leaned into the caressing hands. Their happiness was heady and never failed to make Sans proud.

He had done that. Brought a completeness to their Pack, being their Omega and carrying their pup.

Sans murmured his affections and dropped to a presenting position, whining. He hadn't done this since his Heat but it felt right.

"Omega?" Edge questioned and he hummed, stretching his small spine to tempt them.

"please."

He made sure to send his want for them through their connection and no more prompting was needed, a gasp slipping out between his teeth when a thick tongue entered his slicking cunt.

"yesss," the Omega huffed before his words were stolen, femurs trembling as Red delved into his pussy and drank down the cyan fluids.

Edge issued a pleased rumble; the other’s long ruby tongue snaking out to wrap around one of Sans' floating ribs. A startled breath escaped the monster; a blue trail of magic already trailing down his spine. Tilting the other’s skull; Edge darted his ecto-tongue out to lap at San’s teeth; their tongues curling around each other. Edge left his peripheral and the Omega whined as the Pack Alpha licked down his spine.

Red moved to Sans' head and began sharing the Omega's taste. He focused on deepening their kiss, completely dominating the other’s questing tongue and forcing it back into the other’s skull as he tasted Sans thoroughly.

A shudder went through the smallest monster and he pulled away from the kiss, their combined magic running down Sans’ chin as he glanced down his body. Edge’s long tongue was fully seated in his cunt like the Pack Alpha wished to devour him. The smallest skeleton keened and Red rumbled a happy growl before ending their kiss.

“let's move, sweetheart…” He murmured and the other blinked hazily through the pleasure; nodding. Being careful of not disrupting Edge’s attentions; Red moved until his spine rested on the wall at the head of the bed; the Omega now sitting between his femurs. Those crimson eye-lights trailed down Sans' beautiful body, his cock now fully formed and aching at the noises Edge was drawing from their mate.

Edge’s eye-lights opened and stared intensely at them; his fingers working in alongside his tongue with a loud ‘squelch’. The Omega's spine arched into Edge's intense actions, grinding firmly against Red as Sans keened. Red reached down the other’s body to stroke the pronounced blue nub of his clit and Edge growled appreciatively as Sans spasmed; his tongue going impossibly deeper as Sans found his first release for the night.

Withdrawing his tongue with a slurping noise; Edge made sure to swallow all of the magic magic before licking his sharp teeth.

“Good boy…good Omega," their Pack Alpha cooed as their pregnant mate panted to regain breath. Edge and Red smiled at the sight and being as careful as possible; Red maneuvered Sans until the head of his cock lined up with the other’s oozing entrance. With a soft moan, he fully sheathed himself; the head of his cock striking the back of the Omega's magic as the other skeleton trembled in his hold.

"Do you think you can take both of us, Omega?" Edge cooed and Sans shuddered before chuckling.

"fuck…yeah, I wanna try. please…"

Red exhaled at the feel of their Omega squeezing around his dick at the mere thought, holding back the need to jump as Edge’s long fingers worked inside Sans alongside his shaft.

"fuck…" The shorter Alpha snarled out in an appreciative tone,“how…how are yer feeling, sweetheart?” He managed, shuddering from the tight squeezing around his cock.

“don't stop, please!” The Omega cried, sockets closing in bliss as his slick aided both of his mates, small body trembling from being so full.

He must have said that out loud because Edge was making sure it wasn't too much, concern in those scarlet eye-lights.

Though it was a challenge, Red and Sans remained as still as Edge parted his teeth and allowed excess ectoplasm to dribble from his tongue to where they were joined. The feeling of Edge’s fingers working the slick in along with Sans’ slick was indescribable. Very slowly, the walls squeezing around both of his Mates slackened as Red continued to suck and nip Sans' small spine.

Sans blinked when Edge withdrew his fingers, "breath, sweet Omega…"

Sans swallowed excess magic and spread his femurs wider as Edge settled; the head of his dick brushing against the root of their Mate's erection. He moaned softly at the sensation, running his hands over Red's’ rib-cage.

When Edge managed to slip inside, the initial reaction was a cry of shock. The Pack Alpha stilled until Sans nodded frantically after a moment of adjustment. With a smooth motion, Edge’s cock buried itself into Sans’ tight cunt alongside Red’s once the head was in. Both of the Alpha's hands roved over the trembling skeleton’s bones; aware that the Omega was currently overwhelmed with the sensation of them stretching him nearly beyond capacity.

“yer doing so good, love. we have yer.” Red whispered soothingly and a good five minutes passed before the Omega was able to speak.

"fuck me!" Sans keened, still sensitive and so full, but he would go mad if his Mates continued to do nothing.

Though Red wanted nothing more than to snap his hips immediately at the permission granted; he and Edge carefully worked up an opposing pace. It was so impossibly tight that he was sure if they were to go any faster; the shorter Alpha would cum immediately. As Red withdrew; Edge would push right back in until he hit the back of Sans’ slick cunt. The Omega writhed in between them as that special spot deep inside was constantly hit by one of them at the very least.

"coming!" Sans cried, reaching back to grip Edge's femur for support as he sobbed, and shook. Both Alpha grew still; expressions nearly pained as they rode out the skeleton’s second orgasm. The walls of Sans' cunt closed over them like a vice, pressing their cocks together. Red groaned low as Edge growled; feeling the fluttering and wetness over them both before it eased up enough to allow them to move again.

After testing a thrust, a switch seemed to have been thrown as soon as they found their Mate to be slick and loose enough to ease their movements. Finding that pistoning motion easily again, both Edge and Red began a frantic pace; drawing cries of over-stimulation and pleasure from their Omega. Cyan magic squelched past their cocks as they filled the small Omega up completely, chasing their own release at this point with a single-minded drive.

It was so tight-

There was barely any room, it felt so fucking good…

Red slammed home as his cock jumped with the force of his release; Edge’s huge length still sliding over his shaft during his orgasm causing the shorter Alpha to gasp and shake in response. It wasn’t long until Edge was growling, pressing close as a cocktail of blue and red magic spurted in between them; sliding down Sans’ femurs as he merely laid there and took it.

They panted harshly, holding each other and supporting their Omega until the aftershocks passed. Edge was the one to leave the bed first, returning with a wet cloth to clean the excess magic off of his smaller mates. Sans' whimpered, deliciously sore but Red rumbled a deep purr, holding their satisfied Omega so the Pack Leader could do his job. He shifted both of his Mates off the top duvet and stripped it before attending to himself.

Their Pack curled up together, safe and close.

Chapter 22

Summary:

Took a small break, now I'm back to complete this story! <3

Chapter Text

Shockingly, Sans was the first to wake the next morning despite their coupling having taxed his body the most. He blinked his eye sockets wearily and attempted to stretch, freezing when a change in his body immediately became apparent. Smiling wide and bright, his phalanges inched down to the swell of magic at his belly.

Appears that there was an innate reason for his and his mate's actions the night before aside from a need to be close…

But this also marked the beginning of when the Omega would officially lose all of his freedom and space. Remembering how bad it was at the start, the skeleton frowned and considered his options.

He could wake both of them and experience the joy immediately, but then have his every movement tracked until Sans gave birth. Or, the Omega could go to the Embassy and enjoy a bit more freedom, celebrate with Tori and Paps. It would give him time to come to terms with the change in behavior coming so that Sans wouldn't hold it against his Pack.

Decided, the skeleton was very careful in how he untangled their bones, having to pause every so often to not wake Edge or Red. His Mates may not like his decision but Sans knew he needed it to keep sane. It would get better with each pup they managed after.

Finally free.

Sans stepped as lightly as he could while getting used to how the new ecto-belly affected his motion. It wasn't overly large but it was new and the fact it carried the new soul outside the Omega's own made the monster careful.

Which came to his next issue. Sans remembered that he had promised not to use shortcuts in this state. He scanned his instincts but no clear answer came to him. Which was as good as a 'no' to him. The Omega would not risk his pup. He sighed and pulled a sticky note off of Edge's desk.

'went to see tori and paps. -sans'

The Omega sat it in plain sight before leaving the room and calling his sibling. It rang exactly twice and Papyrus answered with a sluggish 'hello!' Sans felt a bit guilty about the time but knew Paps wouldn't get mad at him.

"mind giving me a ride to the embassy, bro?" He questioned in a gentle tone and a moment passed before his younger sibling hummed in confusion.

"Why not just take a shortcut?"

Sans softened,"i don't know if i'm in the condition to travel like that now."

A pause and then frantic movement in the background, "OH. MY. STARS. Is your belly formed?!"

He hummed an affirmative, grinning fondly.

"Let me guess! You have not told your Pack and want to enjoy your last bit of independence before they get overprotective again!" Papyrus said over the line with confidence.

"yup. so, are you gonna break me out?" The small monster questioned with a chuckle.

"I will! But only this time! No more get-out-of-jail cards after this, Sans. I will not fight against two Alphas instincts, especially when one still thinks I am an Alpha. Be right there!"

Sans grinned and bid Papyrus 'farewell'. That was fair, it wouldn't do to go back on his promise at the beginning of this pregnancy, even if they were driving him mad. The Omega could always use a gentler form of 'bad Alpha' to get them to let him breathe at times. Other than that, Sans would attempt to indulge their instincts.

He decided to wait in front of their cabin, the light from the sunrise still not obscuring the stars. Sans' eye-lights grew larger at the sight and he smiled in genuine delight. Perhaps he would spend this last month or two going stargazing more often? At this point, his pup would be aware of an 'outside' world and Tori told Sans talking helped. Now that the pup's soul was strong enough to exist without his own, it was never too early to instill a love of the stars within them.

While the Omega waited, he checked under his shirt and smiled at the purple soul protected by his cyan ectobiology. Lowering it, knowing it was proper for other monsters to ask to see now, Sans figured his clothes could use a break before being stretched repeatedly. The skeleton cooed to his pup, telling the perseverance soul about the cabin, forest and how the stars were being blocked by the rising sun.

It wasn't long before Papyrus pulled up a lot quieter than usual in his red convertible. He couldn't help the smile that came when it did feel like his brother was helping him break out of jail.

The skeleton climbed into the passenger seat and his brother leaned over with bright eye-lights. Laughing, Sans pulled up the white shirt to expose the pup's soul to the first monster he wanted to see. Papyrus gasped and crooned.

"Oh Sans, they are so pretty! I am looking forward to meeting my little brother or sister!" His brother beamed, laughing in delight when the Omega allowed the Beta to touch over the small soul. It glittered, seeming to react to Papyrus which caused the Beta to gasp.

"smart already." The Omega stated proudly. Papyrus had vibrant Bravery magic that was hard to ignore. Toriel definitely wasn't joking that the pup could 'hear' a lot better outside of Sans' soul.

"I am so proud! Here! Let us set out and get to the Queen. If we catch her early enough, we may be able to have breakfast and share the good news."

Humming in agreement, the Omega buckled himself in and listened to Papyrus go over the meeting agenda today. There was a planned protest downtown, so the monarchy wouldn't be meeting with the Pro-Monster Movement members which freed up quite a bit of time.

Time enough for possible breakfast before reporting this change to his Mates. Sans was especially hungry now that he took note, figuring his appetite would remain this way because of the constant magic use.

Papyrus pulled into the parking lot connected to the Embassy and both siblings made their way to the main lobby. The few monster and human employees present called out a hearty congratulations. Sans merely nodded. Monsters could sense this thing, it was more excitement over the skeleton getting closer to the actual birth. The humans were more shocked as they couldn't feel magic, therefore they couldn't tell Sans had been carrying before now.

Still, he smiled at the heartfelt congratulations, walking to the elevator with Papyrus and making small talk on the way down, the lift gradually becoming empty. It was then that they used their key and code, allowing them to the lowest level.

Sans grinned when they disembarked, the pink sunrise reflecting all the way down here. It made the garden and memorial shine. Both brothers paused respectfully in front of the seven graves before knocking on the Queen's front door.

Toriel opened the door with squinted purple eyes before they widened at the sight of the Omega,"Sans! Oh, my dear! Look at you!"

The skeleton laughed as the Queen picked him up and nuzzled against the side of his skull, butterscotch and cinnamon filling his senses. The soft fur relaxed the tension from his bones and he beamed at Papyrus as he was carried inside.

"Careful, Your Majesty. You'll spoil my brother." The Beta admonished but then the pair of them were looking at him with amusement.

"Why, Papyrus! You do that already, my child. Come join me for breakfast. I am guessing you made your getaway before even considering eating!"

"guilty." The Omega laughed, deposited in his usual chair and allowing Toriel to see and coo over the unborn pup.

"I can already imagine calling out of a meeting the moment this little one is born! What a beautiful coloration for perseverance!"

Sans flushed in pride and sat his skull down on the table, watching his old friend prepare a quiche and tea. Echoflower tea, he noted, still avoiding Golden Flower. The monster didn't blame her. That connection with Asgore may never heal but it was respectful that she was working alongside him once more for the sake of Monsterkind.

At least Papyrus knew what a quiche was now. Sans could still remember how long it took his sibling to parse that it wasn't pie, even if it appeared so. It has also made the Beta happy that Sans had attempted something new in the Underground.

"So have you and your Mates decided upon a name just yet?" The Queen asked, partially focused on using her fire magic to cook.

Sans hummed,"we'll probably be one of those that waits until we hold and see the pup. it'll be a font name, but that's as far as we had planned."

"Font names are an old and respectful tradition. Who was it that told me that?" Toriel paused and frowned, getting a faraway look in her amethyst eyes. Papyrus blinked slowly.

"not really important," Sans murmured carefully and both monsters snapped back to awareness.

"Ah yes! Of course not." The Queen laughed before moving on,"here, let's eat."

They hadn't realized how quickly the fire magic had done its job or remembered the question. The Omega frowned and squinted accusingly.

That time wasn't his to steal, after all.

Breakfast was a warm affair other than that small hiccup. Papyrus shared some of the updates from the other floors. Sans' favorite human cook was now head chef, the trainer having moved onto another establishment to meet demand. Monsters and humans were now being employed on the safe floors and the lobby. The recreational area now had options for both kind's sports. The gym was for humans but there were some monsters, such as Aaron, that enjoyed it even without the physical necessity.

"It feels like we are making progress." Toriel said with a gentle smile and then sobered,"though the same can't be said about the laws. We may need you to work from home on this, as no one else can figure it out."

The Omega looked up in surprise,"you want me to attempt physical capsules for healing magic."

It wasn't a question. It was a known fact that humans coveted their healing magic the most. Being able to contain it was something he and Alphys had attempted, but found extremely delicate. Too thick and the magic was not usable. Too thin and the casings broke under the strain.

However, this was their bargaining chip, something that would speed negotiations to their advantage. An advantage that they rarely had, considering humans were innately stronger.

Not that it had been discovered or disclosed, nor would it be as things were.

"i understand. red can help me as well,"he offered and the Queen smiled, nodding.

"Thank you, Sans," her eyes trailed up to Papyrus and she sighed,"I am afraid this is all the time we can afford you. The first meeting over legalities begins shortly."

Sans stood and hugged both monsters before grinning,"no worries. i'll call my mates once i hit the lobby again."

"Goodbye, brother! I will make sure to make time to drop by the cabin!"

They embraced and the Omega made his way to the lift. He already felt a bit sluggish from eating Toriel's magic heavy food but his pup was benefitting and that made Sans happy.

He stepped off the lift and brought his phone up, blinking when a weight settled around his neck. He froze, eye-lights shrinking and looking up at a human. A familiar human…Sans remembered this one had knocked into him on his way to the Queen months back.

He couldn't move.

What had they done?

"Follow us, come along."

His feet immediately obeyed the command despite his mind rebelling. Sans couldn't scream out. He couldn't seem to reach his magic. Only his scent was sour and there were only a few monsters that looked up in concern.

But they didn't come to his aid because to them, Sans was willingly following the strange humans outside and into a van.

A shorter one today because I misread my notes and had to make a bridge chapter. Thank you for reading!

Chapter Text

Why was this happening? How was this happening?

Sans sat passively in the backseat of a white van, buckled in as if he had gotten in here willingly. His body had but his mind was screaming out. The two humans sitting up front didn't seem dangerous. There were no harsh words or actions from them. In fact, they were treating him gently.

There was something around his neck, something that reminded him of Red's collar, if his Mate's collar could suppress magic and lock his mind inside.

Fuck!

Red. Edge. His Pack. Why had he insisted on leaving them today? Sans would take a thousand days of overprotective Alpha's against this one slip up. It definitely hadn't been his intention to prove exactly why the Omega shouldn't travel alone.

It had only taken a few moments, his phone dropped from limp phalanges as the monster exited the lift. Enough time to latch what felt like a collar around his neck.

It was awful. A monster was made of magic. Sans felt cut off from it, like he couldn't reach it. He was mute and docile. Both of the Bonds were there but just as impossible to communicate with.

Thank the Stars that it didn't affect his pup. If Sans had lost his pup due to his own stubbornness, he would Dust.

Had anyone noticed he was gone yet? Had his Mates found his note? Had they decided to follow Sans yet?

The Bond was silent. It had gone quiet as soon as these two humans had taken him. Could Edge and Red not feel him? If they could, did he feel calm? Sans hated this feeling, being helpless while swollen with his pup.

"Ahh, it's okay, little monster. We aren't gonna hurt you."

Sans could see one of them had leaned back to look at him. Oh fucking…well at least they might start monologuing and the Omega wouldn't be panicking inside as badly?

"You're not hurt and your baby is just fine. No need to cry."

Was he crying? Ah…. That would be a 'yes'. It was only now that the Omega could feel the thick cyan tears beading in his sockets and falling down his face in a constant stream.

"We're on your side, you see? You just don't realize it yet…" The human was nudged by the other, who shook his head and frowned. Ah. He should probably take in more detail, just in case. Sans usually didn't unless the humans were good, like the one the Omega liked in the restaurant…

Two men. Older adults. Sans had seen them as part of the Pro-Monster Movement, the one speaking was a blond man who had bumped into him before. The other had dark hair and was the quiet one. The brunet frowned at the man driving.

"What? It's not like he can do anything with that collar on him. You're Sans, right?"

"yeah."

Why did he answer?!

"You're an Omega, work for the King and Queen as a scientist. You have a secret job too, what is it?"

No.

"i'm the judge."

NO.

"And what does that mean?"

Shut up! Shut up! Shut the fuck up!

"i can see if a human is good or bad. if they have hurt or killed someone."

Both men looked back at the small monster in shock as Sans was wailing inside as he gave them whatever they asked. The brunet grinned at his partner.

"See? See?! First, there aren't many skeletons and this one happens to get pregnant! Now we figure out he has two important jobs! He's priceless to our cause!"

"That's for the higher-ups to decide."

And just like that, Sans was left in silence again. Their 'cause'? It seemed like they targeted Sans for being a pregnant Omega over everything. Reassured him about his pup…. Were the humans making him a pet? They had put a collar on him and taken away his higher functions…

Is that what they were doing? Making monsters pets?

They would have taken one of his Mates if they were breeding them, right? Shit, was Red and Edge okay? Papyrus had still been safely tucked away in the lowest level with the Queen. His brother was also a very public figure.

How was Sans going to warn anyone when he couldn't fight back? Even with words?

He hated this…

For the rest of the drive, the Omega fretted and tried to figure something out but it was all for nothing. They drove what had to be hours away before the van stopped. His soul was pounding as the two men disembarked and his door was opened.

The buckle was unclipped,"walk with us, we'll lead the way."

His body obeyed, the Omega walking sedately between both men as he registered they were inside a building. Around him were other unmarked vans with humans ushering a thankfully unharmed monster out.

They were all Omega.

They were all in the last stage of their pregnancy. The air smelled so sour and the whimper was trapped inside Sans. On the upside, there was no way in Hell the humans could be sneaky about this for long. Red and Edge would already burn the world to locate Sans as it was.

Omega were precious, even outside of the Bonded and pupped. This facility was full of pregnant Omega with established Bonds. If these damned collars blocked all else, it wouldn't erase their missing status nor how upset they smelled. At least the humans couldn't take that away, as sick as it made Sans feel.

The building was large, a warehouse filled with steep appliances, equipment and rows of cages. Pets? Slaves? Breeders?

They were prisoners, that much was certain. Docile and with no way to fight back.

As he was led to his cage, the skeleton could only hope that even though the Bond was silent, that his Pack would notice him missing soon.

____

Edge woke and frowned immediately. Something was wrong. Inhaling, he could only smell and sense his brother beside him. The Alpha sat up and noted that their Omega was missing, Sans' scent faint but it smelled happy.

He stood, ignoring his own nudity and checked his desk. Sans had left a note and it was as Edge had thought. Their smallest mate didn't leave the home unless it was to visit the Monster Embassy. Mostly for Papyrus but lately, Sans had been going to the Queen for advice as his birth drew nearer. Going for advice that his Alphas could not provide him.

Still…

Everything looked to be in order. The Alpha had a scent, it was still early morning and proof where Sans had traveled to. His instincts would not quiet, however.

Left with nothing else, Edge reached out to their Bond.

And that is where he felt something amiss. Where their Omega should be was…nothing.

"RED!" He snapped and his Mate was instantly jerking upright with a curse at the Command in his tone,"check the Bond."

His ruby eye-lights shrank as his sibling froze and looked up at him with a terrified and confused expression,"Sans….he can't be dead!"

Edge shook his head firmly,"no, not dead. If our Omega died, it would have woken us and we would have lost our minds."

Red blinked and scrutinized the Bond inside once more,"something's fucked up. it's like he doesn't exist."

Edge began pulling on his gear and armed himself, Red scrambling to do the same. Both skeletons looked at each other and Red held his hand out.

They appeared in the lobby of the Monster Embassy, monsters and humans rushing around, calling out names and orders. Edge easily spotted Papyrus just as the Beta turned, their eye-lights meeting.

Sans?

Papyrus' expression became grim and he waved both skeletons forward with a shake of his head.

Chapter Text

It took five hours to completely lock the Monster Embassy down. In this time, all human volunteers were ushered from the building with apologies for cutting their schedules but explained that there was an emergency. Once clear of both humans that were there for meetings and that worked within the center, all magical defenses were activated. Every monster that wasn't directly involved was sent to the Residential Area to wait, preferably with friends. Alphys' pre-recorded emergency announcement was being played on soft repeat every hour.

'Please remain within your designated area until further direction. Thank you.'

It was one of the sentences she had been able to do without stuttering and sounded appropriately calm. The lobby was cleared out with the front doors containing an active force field. For once, Frisk had been summoned back and was inside with their family and friends. Outside, reporters were beginning to gather but no one could come inside, even if they tried the door. The lockdown was as complete as if war had been declared.

With what had occurred, it may as well have been. Between Alphys' message, an increasing list of names was being announced.

Edge frowned each time 'Sans the skeleton' was mentioned, Red standing just over his shoulder where he and everyone of importance was gathered around the meeting table. Frisk was frowning between Toriel and Asgore, Undyne and Papyrus standing behind their monarchy. Alphys was quietly speaking to Mettaton, the robot focused on pulling up footage from the cameras around the building that he was personally linked to.

Besides Edge and Red, a few more Alphas were present. Muffet and Grillby were the most prominent, with the elemental having the oldest Bond besides the Queen and King themselves. They had already been questioned.

No, their Mates were alive. They would be insane and grieving if not. No, they couldn't feel or contact them but the certainty was there. Yes, they would tell someone immediately if they felt any change.

Mettaton finally huffed a sigh and then Alphys was plugging in an adapter, raw footage being beamed out of the robot's eyes onto the wall. Everyone straightened and watched with growing confusion.

"These humans…aren't they a part of the Pro-Monster Movement? The ones who protest in our name?" Asgore questioned, quickly recognizing the faces involved.

"Yes, they are." Toriel confirmed in a hard tone, one that wasn't directed at her Mate but at what was happening in each clip. A pair of humans would rush up behind the targeted monster and lock a device around their neck. Then, they seemed to speak to the monster before all of them left together.

"The targets are all pregnant Omega." Alphys noted with a frown, stutter absent in the face of what was happening. Edge and Red exchanged a look before stilling at the next scene.

Sans.

Their beautiful Mate was showing, phone out as he stepped out of the lift with the clear intention to contact them. It was the same as the others. A pair of humans hurried behind the small monster, latched a collar around Sans' neck and then all three left the building with the Omega following behind.

Except the two Alphas got more information because Sans was a skeleton and they were watching the scene intensely. As soon as the collar was fixed, the phone dropped from loosened fingers and those white eye-lights shrank before vanishing.

"his magic is being tampered with. fuck, no wonder they aren't fighting." Red growled and Edge nodded to back up what his Mate observed.

"That would also explain why the Bond feels wrong. They are alive but their means to communicate have been cut off." The Pack Leader frowned,"a monster is their magic, however. That much information has been released. This easily could have ended with their targets Dusting or at least losing their pups."

Every monster within the room growled, even the Beta present at the very thought.

"Some type of…perhaps of magic suppression? R-rather than cutting any flow off? That would take a lot of inside knowledge though! Those…magic suppression collars, someone would have to know monster biology and be good in engineering to create such a thing!" The reptilian woman insisted with a glare. It was clear she hadn't shared anything by the lack of nerves.

"do yer have any information stored digitally?" Red asked from behind Edge's shoulder. Toriel frowned before answering the question.

"No. We have a closed database within the Labs so nothing would…" The goat monster stiffened and then sighed,"...unless we are speaking of the Undernet. It was a social experiment that we shared soon after the emergence."

Alphys glanced at the robot,"Mettaton, cross-reference the Undernet and see if there is enough information shared for this operation to be pulled off."

"You got it, darling," he purred, switching off the replaying footage in favor of scanning the monster's version of the internet. While the scan was running, Asgore folded his massive paws and frowned in thought.

"I would have never anticipated this from the humans that attend protests for us. They genuinely seemed to want to aid us. Even without the Judge's Sight, you could feel their intent. They never felt violent to me when we were in contact." The King glanced towards Toriel in askance, whose frown deepened.

"Intent is a tricky thing, Asgore. I do not know what they are doing or what they are planning. However, they seem to think they are doing good." She replied.

Edge scoffed at the notion,"they are insane, then. Blocking magic, kidnapping and incarceration are dire crimes."

The Queen straightened and looked at both of the siblings,"'incarceration'. Do you have any guesses on why they took only pregnant Omega?"

"Blackmail, experimentation, breeding, starting a zoo… any of those could be possible motivations."

Toriel bristled so hard her white fur stood on end,"all of those are unacceptable! We need to locate our friends and family as quickly as possible!"

"Hard thing to fucking do when their magic is cut off." Undyne hissed angrily as Papyrus scowled at the floor. Red frowned at that. He and Edge would have to tell the skeleton monster not to blame himself. He didn't know Sans would be taken. Their Omega didn't know the consequences for leaving this morning would result in his kidnapping.

"I'm finished," Mettaton announced with a disturbed expression,"it seems there are two instances of correspondence between monsters and humans involved with this Movement that revealed sensitive information."

"What is it, Mettaton?" The reptilian scientist encouraged.

"Guy, Burgerpants' Omega Mate was too open to questions about biology and magic. In addition to that, Drunk Bun rambled a bit about technology. I had forgotten she had been an engineer before…imbibing too much on the daily."

Red cursed. So they had someone too nice and free with information and someone too out of it to realize what they were saying might be used against them. It seemed the rest of the room felt the same way.

"Best not to confront either of them. Drunk Bun most likely won't remember and Burgerpants' Mate is among the missing. Nothing good will come from stressing him further."

Edge would normally disagree but in this case, he could make an exception. The bunny monster was indeed self-medicating with monster booze, probably for strong reason and aside from Alphys, Burgerpants' temperament was nervous at best.

"So where can we begin? We have footage but only within the Embassy. I am…hesitant to ask for aid from the humans at this time."

Frisk finally spoke up, signing along with the voice in their soul,-we should only let them know why the Embassy is shut down. That there are a slew of missing monsters and we are investigating. Silence will only hurt at this point but too much information shared might be worse.-

"I agree with Frisk. It is a statement that is not pointing any fingers and a good reason for the lockdown." Papyrus said, exchanging a small smile with the human Ambassador.

"As for where we can begin…Mettaton, you can scan the Undernet. Can you also comb the human Internet?" The King asked.

"I'm afraid not, your Majesty. The Internet is a million times larger than our Undernet and is constantly growing. It works a lot differently and there are pages that are unindexed that I cannot touch."

Alphys leaned forward to meet the robot's gaze,"w-what about starting from the correspondence? Surely we can track down enough information to follow humans from the Undernet to the Internet. Their 'social media' could provide information."

That was true. Even being here only for half a year, Edge knew how ridiculous humans were sharing so much with what was essentially the world. Names, addresses, jobs, past information…it was a gold mine for those that wanted to track someone down. For good or for bad.

"if yer can find as many of those pro-humans as yer can, i can dig deeper. might even be able to find any purchases or encrypted email exchanges. they have'ta had made questionable purchases for this operation." Red offered with a nod from Edge, the Alpha proud of his Mate for stepping in.

"I can aid my Mate in this to hasten the process. The longer the missing are, the more chances something unsavory may occur." He growled out.

Papyrus spoke up next,"Frisk and I can touch base with those that have lost someone. We know everyone and can offer comfort."

Frisk nodded, their face lined with their signature Determination,-if we learn anything of interest, we can tell you about it.-

"I can help with public relations if you both are willing, your Majesties," Mettaton offered,"there is a large screen outside the building we can access. No need to give a press conference outside the safety of the Embassy."

"We would appreciate the aid, Mettaton," Toriel replied with a firm nod, Asgore nodding his own agreement.

"Undyne and I! We can attempt to work out how these collars may work. It would be b-better if we managed to have one but knowing how they affect the victims is a good starting point!" The scientist insisted.

Everyone signaled their agreement before Asgore clapped his paws together,"now that everyone here has an assignment, let's begin. There is no time to waste. Grillby, Muffet, I know this is a difficult time but please keep an ear out at your establishments. Monsters mean well but in this case, their good intent has been twisted. If you hear anything -"

"No worries, Asgore. We'll tell you right away." Muffet insisted with a frown as Grillby nodded.

"We have each other's numbers. Call only if something of importance comes up. Until then, let's work on getting back our loved ones." Toriel dismissed the meeting and everyone set into motion. On the way out, Edge and Red stopped Papyrus, Frisk turning to join the tall Beta's side.

"It is not your fault for Sans." The Pack Alpha told him firmly. Orange magic welled up in Papyrus' sockets as Frisk took the monster's hand and squeezed.

"I….I know that! But it doesn't feel like it!" He insisted, appearing overwhelmed with grief and guilt,"if something happens to my brother I do not know how I could live with myself."

-Edge and Red are right. You couldn't have known. Sans wouldn't want you blaming yourself, you know that.- Frisk signed with a gentle but firm expression. Papyrus inhaled a wet breath and nodded.

"I know he wouldn't."

"so let's do our best in finding these assholes!" Red growled and that seemed to break Papyrus from his sadness, Frisk nodding along.

"Yes! Let us work quickly! The sooner we find out who these humans are, the quicker we can find out where they have all the stolen Omega!"

Frisk and Papyrus broke off to talk to the Alpha gathered on the Recreational Area level while both skeleton Alpha took a moment to reassure each other in private before beginning their own mission.

Sans would be found and they would bring him home, no matter what the cost.

Chapter Text

Even though an announcement for the reason that the Monster Embassy was closed kept playing on repeat on the big screen outside, it still didn't stop a large crowd from gathering. Most were reporters but a lot were spectators, too curious to keep their nose out of what may be happening. In order to keep tensions low, 'updates' to their missing monsters case were addressed to keep the mob happy.

'Why wouldn't they allow anyone inside?'

To make sure that the monsters weren't simply lost. The Embassy was a big place and some had a penchant for exploring, especially their young ones.

'Why couldn't the human employees come in to work?'

Same reason. Plus, the human helpers would still be paid as this hadn't been a foreseen circumstance. There was no issue with reimbursement.

'Did they think humans were involved with this incident?'

Of course not! There were simply some misplaced citizens! It was only a matter of time before the Embassy was reopened to the public!

Platitudes in a dire time where they didn't have all the pieces. Where the monsters knew full well that humans were responsible but had no clue as to the why. Thank the Stars that it seemed the cause was benign….so far. None of the Alphas whose mates had been taken showed signs that their Bond was anything but healthy.

As time stretched out, it got more tense. Some of the Omega that had been taken had been on the verge of retreating to their Nests for birth. The hardest thing was keeping the Alpha calm and to fight the need to hunt their missing Mates down.

Which was why Edge and Red were glad they had their own task that was directly involved to achieve a successful mission. The human Internet was both a marvel and a terrifying thing. It was colossal in size with nearly everything you could think of included. The amount of aimless hate on social media was headache inducing. Some of the things the surface internet had to filter out were too gruesome to speak about. They wouldn't find what they needed there.

What they were looking for was something secret, tied with money, technology and whispers. Both Fell monsters had already uncovered the two humans from the Undernet, their names, their homes and their families.

They even knew what they had for breakfast a few weeks ago.

What they had in spades were email exchanges in the thousands of thousands that seemed to have a cipher. It would take time and time was not a luxury they had.

Mettaton and Alphys had joined Red and Edge in the task of unraveling what was really being said and planned. Even with the robot, it was slow going.

"feel anything, boss?"

Edge sighed and wordlessly drew his Mate into an embrace, both of their eye-lights still on the screen where they were running the emails through existing ciphers.

"No, but we will find him."

It had been ages since Red had last called him that, a testament on just how stressed the smaller Alpha was. He had been 'Boss' before he had been Alpha and then Mate. His sibling could only regress deeper and call him 'brother'.

Their sour scents had already forced them to wear scent cancelers, their distress bleeding into the air enough to distract their allies.

Both Pack Bond and Mate Bond had been silent, similar to a still pond. Not even a ripple in the water. Nothing to indicate that Sans was reaching out to them even though that was probably the first thing the Omega had done.

The silence was better than the alternative. Where Edge and Red would feel Sans fade and leave a shrieking void where the monster had been. It was that that drove Bondmates to insanity.

The silence wasn't healthy but it was better than their Omega dying. It was enough he was pregnant and out of their sight, their protection. The possibility of Sans dying in that state and alone was almost too much to bear even thinking about.

The PA system went off and everyone froze.

'All monsters within the Lobby are advised to take the Lift down to either the Recreational Area or to the Residential Area. Please proceed in an orderly fashion. Further instructions will be broadcasted.'

Alphys frowned, small body shaking,"do you think the humans outside are getting worse?"

"I can think of little else that would require the Lobby to be cleared." Edge rumbled as his eye-lights remained fixed on the decryption progress.

"motherfuckers." Red snarled and no one corrected him.

"As soon as we get a location, we are heading out." Edge caressed his sibling's ribs and he felt his Mate sag back into his embrace. The order was a reassurance. Red could go anywhere he had seen and thankfully, the human internet had just the right tool to aid in them leaving the instant they knew.

The rest of the room didn't need to know that. The monsters were their friends and allies but they were from a different universe and culture. They would keep one human unharmed and captured. The rest would be incapacitated or outright killed.

Edge and Red would not risk Sans anymore than they already had. The humans had made a mistake touching him. Even thinking of touching any pregnant Omega, their most precious souls that kept their species in existence.

If they had touched Sans and their pup in anyway…. Edge stiffened and leaned forward when the bar began to move a bit but sighed when the progress wasn't much.

"Seems like a mixed cipher was used. Mettaton, can you run a search from the opposite side?"

"Of course, Alphys dear."

Satisfied that the process had been sped up as much as possible, both Alphas watched the screen with keen attention.

___

The small skeleton sighed inwardly and wished he could move to either give comfort or block out the world around him. The Omega in the cage next to him had gone into labor last night. Their scent was acrid and it made Sans feel sick. The Collar had robbed them of everything, even crying out in pain or begging for the presence of their Alpha.

Even Sans knew that bringing a pup in the world was eased by a Mate being near. Normally, the Omega would be safe, in their Nest and soothed by their Alpha.

The monster next to him hadn't had any of that. The birth was difficult and now that it was over, the pup yelping and crying for its mother in vain. The Collar locked them inside their minds. They couldn't even purr for the poor thing, which the humans had laid on the monster but hadn't done anything otherwise.

Sans felt cold.

Was this how his birth would go? Alone in a cage and not able to comfort his pup when they came into this world?

Sans could feel the hopelessness in the warehouse rising. It was only the presence of the pup that was keeping the other Omega from Falling, the instincts keeping them holding on.

He had to breathe slowly, the one thing he could control. Keep calm and trust that the Embassy cameras provided enough to begin an investigation. Trust that Edge and Red would never give up on him. That Papyrus would have enough hope for every Omega in here.

That Frisk would keep their promise.

This was a tough situation but it didn't warrant a Reset. Nothing would. Even if the worst occurred…. There was still a timeline here that needed to continue.

Even without him.

No, Sans couldn't focus on that right now. He had to keep listening to what he could pick up. The passing humans must feel comfortable in their ability to remain undetected because it was like the Omega weren't there.

From what the skeleton had heard in passing, it seemed the humans here thought they were somehow 'saving' Monsterkind. Laughable, seeing as how well-equipped the Monster Embassy was for just this thing. If humans in general wanted genocide, they essentially had a new Underground that could be expanded. They weren't limited by a magical Barrier and any weapon that could destroy the Embassy couldn't be used without leveling the entire city.

Why they thought enslavement was the option, Sans didn't know. Perhaps money and power. Perhaps just to repeat history because this was just as bad as the War could be. Monsters needed hope, love and compassion.

This wasn't the answer.

The Omega hated that the Pro-Monster Movement consisted of these delusional humans. It didn't have meaning even if they thought they were correct. Enslavement would kill them just as surely as outright violence would.

The pup continued to wail for their mother and Sans inwardly sent comfort, weakening the sourness in his scent because that was all he could do.

Others caught on and did the same but it was slow going and difficult to keep up. Even though it wasn't Sans' pup, his soul bled for the distressed young one.

We'll get out of here…. He reassured himself in silence, trying the Bond once more to no avail before working on his breathing again. Switching between that and controlling his panicked scent, Sans would have to accept this was all he could do for now.

Chapter Text

Edge and Red were both tense, eye-lights focused on the nearly complete search bar. It had taken the damn thing two days between the program and Mettaton to get to this point. Both Alpha were ready to act as soon as they got the location. Alphys and Mettaton could alert the others.

'Decryption complete'.

"fucking finally!" Red spat, sitting up as the reptilian woman began to feed the new emails to Mettaton. Edge began rapidly clicking through them as well as the Royal Scientist called their Monarchy.

"H-Hello, Alphys speaking! We got the emails decoded! Yes. Yes. As soon as we know anything we'll-"

The Pack Alpha copied an address into the human's 'Earth' function and Red leaned forward to take the location in with sharp eye-lights.

"got it."

The Royal Scientist gasped, realizing too late what was going on.

"WAIT-!"

Her voice was cut off by the vacuum of the Void, Red tugging Edge through and onto the grass outside a warehouse situated on what looked like hundreds of acres of farmland. The night aided their stealthy movements, both Alpha having darkened their eye-lights.

Their Omega had been gone four days in total. Edge tugged out his bone wrought broadsword as Red dual wielded daggers.

Kill?

The sentiment rang through their Bond and Edge glanced into one of the mesh-covered windows. There were cages with monsters inside. Monsters that were motionless but clearly unharmed. He cringed at the sour smell of the trapped Omega, their distress bleeding out nonverbally.

"Knock them out and put them in the cages," he hissed to Red and the shorter Alpha nodded, waiting for his signal.

Moving a phalange in a circular motion, both brothers set out to circle the perimeter of the building. Edge felt Red sent a jolt of alarm to him and he scanned the building, locating multiple cameras. He stayed in place as his Mate took a shortcut to his side.

"cameras. it would be less risky going directly inside and luring in any sentries." The shorter skeleton reported. Edge considered it before nodding.

"We will go in. Land me near the door, I will take out anyone near and coming in to aid the others. You go through using your skill and daggers to knock the humans out. Do not remain still, I will not have another of those Collars on my Mates." He growled out lowly. Red's eye sockets narrowed, taking firm hold of Edge's arm before the Pack Alpha was deposited near the door.

Red vanished as twin cries rang out on either side of Edge, the monster clubbing both roughly and smirking as they fell hard. He kept an ear out for any approaching footsteps as he watched Red work.

His brother was a marvel in motion, fast and easily pulling out of range with a dip through the Void. His strikes were less accurate than Edge's, drawing blood in some cases but always meeting his Mark.

Edge spun and took three strikes at a sentry that had come to aid the others, satisfied when his body hit the ground. The sour scent and soft cries from a pup nearby called to his Alpha instincts. To get his Omega and his Mate away from danger, but Edge steeled his resolve. There were many Omega here that needed them and the siblings were the first line of offense.

Disable and contain the threat.

"Wait, please! We are only trying to help!"

"fuck yer help!"

Red none-to-gently took the desperate man out before glancing around,"that's everyone inside!"

"Destroy any of those collars you see! Keep one for Doctor Alphys. I'll get the bodies in the cages." Edge easily dragged the three humans behind them before figuring out the locking system. He dropped them inside and approached the motionless Omega.

"Do not remove the collars yet!" Edge called over the blast over one of his Mate's attacks. Being as gentle as possible, he picked up the pregnant monster and brought them outside the cage. Closing the humans in with the electronic lock, he sat the Omega on a chair with a murmured reassurance that help was on the way. The sour scent faded, the only indication he had been heard.

How awful. To be locked inside like that…

They would be free in short time.

"Come help me get the rest in cages!" He ordered and Red teleported to his side, both of them making quick work of putting the humans beyond the bars they created while taking the captured Omega out.

"sans!" Red gasped out as the electronic lock engaged, Edge straightening and following his Mate to a cage. Inside, their Omega was swollen with their pup, sitting motionless with dark sockets. He didn't so much as twitch. The cries from a pup were coming from the cage next to his.

Edge gritted his teeth and redirected his Mate,"Red, teleport back to the Embassy. Bring back as much help as your energy can muster. We can't get our Omega to safety without getting that collar off and transporting him in a vehicle."

Red snarled but did as he was told. In the first burst came Undyne and Mettaton, then Alphys and members of the Royal Guard. Then the King and Queen. The skeleton was spoken quietly to by both goat monsters before Red came back with members of the Ebott Police Department that had worked with them since the beginning.

Ignoring the process for now, the two Alphas disengaged the lock on Sans' cage and rushed to their Omega's side. Red pressed their skulls together and began to sob as Edge hovered protectively over both of his Packmates.

"we're here, sweetheart! we got yer! we'll get that fucking junk offa' yer soon!" Red promised in a watery tone, nuzzling his scent back onto the Omega's bones. Even though there was no reaction from Sans, the sour scent was replaced by a familiar sweetness.

For the most part, Edge and Red were left alone, only disturbed to give a statement to both King and Queen, as well as the police in attendance since they had gotten there first. When the cameras were mentioned, the staff got on that immediately. Apparently there had been other sentries outside but they were taken into custody at gunpoint.

The collars were the sticking point. It took four hours before Alphys confirmed that there was a safe way to disable them without harm coming to the Omega. Toriel comforted the pup of the Omega they tried to free first, due to their circumstances. With a click, the monster yelped and reached for their pup, which Toriel gave to them with a gentle smile as the Omega wailed, scenting the babe. Finally able to comfort the pup after a day of nothing.

Alphys hurried to Sans' side with a firm expression, torking open the collar and gasping in relief as the skeleton's eye-lights flared to life. He reached out and was engulfed by both his Alpha Mates.

"i'm sorry. i'm so sorry. i shouldn't have-"

"Hush, Omega. If you are about to apologize for these humans kidnapping you, you are wasting your breath. You are a victim. This isn't your fault and we do not blame you." Edge hurried to reassure and he joined scenting Sans with Red, attempting to get the reek of distress off of his bones. However the sour scent was sunken deep into the Omega's clothing so it was enough that the small skeleton smelled of them.

Tentatively, Edge placed a hand over the swell of Sans' ecto-belly, watching as the Omega offered him a soft smile. At the permission, the Pack Alpha eased the white shirt up to view the pup he shared with Red. The shorter Alpha crooned and joined his younger sibling in greeting the perseverance soul sheltered in their Omega's cyan magic.

"They're beautiful." Edge murmured, rumbling a purr for both Omega and pup in an attempt to comfort. Red curled against Sans as the taller Alpha stood guard. None of them broke contact, keeping close and touching constantly as everything came to a slow close for the night.

The crime scene was processed upon the first sunlight, yellow tape surrounding the building. All Omega present had been questioned and issued statements. All humans were in cuffs and ready to be taken to the police station.

It was finally time to go home. At least they had plenty of vans to use since all of them had already been searched and tagged.

"Red, if you could take Asgore and I back to the Embassy. Sheriff, we will meet your taskforce there in four hours."

"tori?" Sans asked in concern but the Queen shook her head. Understanding, the Omega went quiet and slowly let go of Red to allow the Alpha to do as asked. It felt like he was gone longer than he actually was.

Edge picked the Omega up and Red joined them in a van, the Pack Alpha taking the wheel as they used the GPS directions already provided, simply reversing them. Sans crawled into Red's lap and exhaled.

"i'm so glad that's over. it feels like a nightmare," he shuddered and Red cooed, pulling him close,"you were both there but i couldn't reach you."

"The Bond was silent on your side. We knew something was wrong as soon as we woke up." Edge told the shivering monster.

"everyone realized we were gone that fast?"

"of course, sweetheart. those assholes took all the pregnant omega. the entire embassy was locked down." Red rumbled and Sans sighed, soothed by the scent and presence of both of his Mates. Moving as he wished was almost a luxury, considering the past four days of not being able to lift a phalange.

"what happens now?" The Omega asked in a soft tone.

"Full withdrawal. The Embassy will make a statement but all monsters will be within, safe and guarded. We cannot allow something like this to occur again. Nor can we as a race allow things to go as they have been." Edge looked over to his smaller Mates,"Toriel and Asgore must step up for all of Monsterkind."

All three skeletons fell quiet then, Edge navigating the roads in the early morning light as his two Mates relaxed against each other. The repeated motion of Red's phalanges drew a small smile from the Pack Alpha. He wanted to be doing the same thing. This whole situation had been unacceptable. If those humans had darker intentions, they could have arrived at a horrible reality.

If something had happened to Sans…

No. There was no use dwelling on the possibilities. This couldn't happen again. It was time they made headway with the humans. This stagnation could go no further.

The parking lot was already cordoned off with some officers directing traffic. The crowd of humans at the front had been pushed behind a new barricade as each van was guided to the doors and the occupants rushed inside.

Cries and questions flew around, but were ignored as the trio of monsters hurried inside.

-Sans!- Frisk cried out.

"Brother!"

"paps!" The Omega gasped as Papyrus slammed into Edge and Red, joining them all in a quick embrace. Sans reached down to lace his fingers with Frisk's, seeing their terror and knowing what they had been considering. He nodded to show that he understood but that Sans was happy they kept their promise. Tears streamed down their face and they beamed in relief.

-Everyone is safe?- The child Ambassador questioned and Sans nodded.

"all good, kid. you did good." Sans softened as the human hiccuped, his younger sibling snagging Frisk up to join them, small arms going around the Omega.

They held this for a long couple of moments before Edge urged them towards the lift. It wasn't busy right now but it would be. Better that they retreated and watched from safety than be caught in the rush. They stopped at the Residential Level and Papyrus invited them all to wait in his room.

In front of the Monster Embassy, the Mount Ebott Police stood with the Royal Guard. Mettaton was there as backup, the chassis of his body was indestructible just in case the King and Queen needed shielding. Both regal monsters stood at a Podium, the crowd of humans standing beyond a physical barricade as the Monster Royalty addressed the crowd.

"In interest of keeping this short and informative, King Asgore and I have prepared a statement. Please listen as we will only be saying this once." Queen Toriel's voice was cold and stern, a far cry from her usual behavior in the face of what they needed to do.

"Four days ago, twenty of our kind were kidnapped, all of them were Omega that were carrying pups. The perpetrators used a device on them that cut them from their magic, taking away their free will. They could not move nor speak. One Omega had to give birth in a cage in that state." Asgore's expression was thunderous and his words nearly quaked the ground.

"Thankfully, all Omega and their pups have been accounted for and the humans involved caught. However, this event has revealed just how unequal our races are. We will not stand for our most precious and vulnerable members to be subjected to this traumatic incident without seeking justice." The Queen glowered and continued,"therefore, Monsterkind will be withdrawn within the Embassy. We will be claiming Diplomatic Immunity and only agree to meet officials seeking to hasten laws and rights with our kind."

"We were researching ways to share our healing magic with humankind but this has been put on hold due to this attack on our people." The King ignored the gasps, knowing this was bait to draw the right people in.

"That is all we wish to say. Only our official line will be open to those individuals that wish to foster good relationships and achieve equality. For now, our Embassy is closed to all."

Queen and King turned and without another word, disappeared with all Guard Members and Mettaton. As soon as the doors closed, a visible shield rose up, covering the building from the lowest level. Their own Barrier of their own making, to keep danger out.

The crowd was muffled behind the magic but it was clear things had fallen to the police to keep order. Toriel sighed and looked at her estranged Mate, seeing the glint of anger and sadness there.

"It's on our terms now. They wouldn't do anything rash and we have time. We could outlive them all, Asgore. It's peace or Monsterkind building out from Underground." She murmured.

He sighed,"I had hoped it wouldn't come to this. It is too much like before. ….But as you say, it's our terms and our Barrier, we are not trapped and Frisk is legally ours so they cannot be taken away."

Toriel softened at Asgore's sentiment towards Frisk. She sometimes forgot in her grief and anger that her estranged Mate did love the human child. Perhaps it was time to put their feud aside for Frisk's sake. Their Bond couldn't be strained like this forever or both of them would surely lose their minds.

"Our people are safe. We have the resources and magic. It may take a year, a decade or more but it is peace or nothing at all. I tire of this endless back and forth." Asgore muttered and Toriel nodded as they approached the lift. Emerald eyes looked down at amethyst and Toriel reached out to take the King's paw, much to his shock.

"Let's go Home. Frisk will be waiting for breakfast. Tea?"

A sheepish but hopeful expression crossed Asgore's face.

"Yes, please. That sounds lovely."

The lift's doors slid shut.

___

'Attention all residents, the Monster Embassy has issued an ultimatum and is now in full lockdown. I repeat, an ultimatum has been issued and the Monster Embassy is now in full lockdown. This means no one leaves and no one enters the building under any circumstances. All residents are accounted for and our defenses have been deployed. Monsterkind is safe and we will be holding our ground until peace can be attained. Please enjoy your day and listen for further updates.'

___

Sans hummed, taking his eye-lights off the ceiling as the broadcast ended and regarded his Mates across the kitchen table. Their lodging had been prepared before the Omega had been rescued and to his joy, it appeared similar to their home aboveground. Red had even brought his Nest below, knowing it would be needed soon.

"i didn't think we'd need everything alphys and i created but it seems i was too optimistic." The pregnant Omega sighed with a frown. He nodded his thanks as Edge dished out their breakfast.

"must be some heavy duty shit for yer to use the word 'optimistic', sweetheart." Red replied with a sharp frown. Their Pack Alpha sat at the table with them and turned his attention on their Omega.

"the main defense is basically our own barrier. if a human tries to get in, the shock could permanently paralyze them. we have full control of it and it doesn't hurt magical sources. in fact, it bolsters magic. the longer this takes, the more heavily saturated the air will be. we'll be kept healthy while the world continues."

Sans blinked and then tilted his head, taking a bite of Edge's first try at a quiche. He purred his approval and smiled at his Alpha to show his gratitude before continuing,"so no wasting away with a barrier that sucks the magic out of monsters to prolong itself. with the mirrors, it will also feel less cramped. alphys and i can focus on development to those capsules that can sustain healing magic for humans."

"after yer pregnancy, love. until then, i'll help out." Red replied with a stern look which Sans easily acquiesced to. He didn't even need to look at Edge to know the same expression was there.

"unstable magic and pups don't go together. you don't need to lecture me." He huffed before lowering his skull,"besides…i'd rather stay close."

Edge's expression softened,"we agree, Sans. One close call was enough. We will not smother you but we need you close after almost losing you."

The small skeleton sighed and nodded. The Royal Scientist had done extensive tests with the Collar already. The long term exposure effects revealed that the victim would lose all free will after a year of wearing it, even if it were removed.

They really would have been slaves.

A year wasn't a long time for their species, so it felt like a close call. The Omega knew he would suffer new nightmares that didn't include knives and resets, but collars and dead-eyed pups. That they had been planning on using both Mother and Pup in their experiments was sickening.

Sans blinked out of it and purred, realizing Edge was nuzzling him to ease the sourness from his scent,"sorry, it's okay. i just hate what they were planning."

A knock at the door had Red tensing, one hand grabbing Sans as the Omega tried to soothe the Alpha. Edge walked to the door and greeted Papyrus, who stepped in with a smile.

Red squinted between Edge and Papyrus before stilling,"wait…the fuck?"

Papyrus hummed in question and then had to hold in his reaction as Red visibly tested the air. Sans couldn't help laughing though when his Alpha Mate looked at Papyrus with rounded sockets.

"he's a fucking beta?! why didn't…"

Edge sighed,"it seems I lost the bet. I was certain you would live in ignorance, brother."

"there was a fucking bet?!?" Red growled and now Papyrus was laughing with Sans, the Omega's mirth wiping away any residual annoyance at the situation.

"Seems they do this all the time." Edge pointed out with a smirk and the shorter Alpha huffed.

"okay, whatever. haha, fucking funny. anytime yer meet anyone new and do this, i want in, got it?"

"got it," Sans squeaked out, knowing that it would be quite a bit of time before anyone new came along that didn't know his sibling.

"Join us for breakfast, Papyrus," Edge questioned and the skeleton beamed, dropping beside Sans after nuzzling him in greeting. A plate was sat in front of Papyrus', who thanked Edge before leaning forward.

"Frisk is with the King and Queen on the lowest level. They texted that it will likely be a week or more before they come up. It seems Toriel decided to mend the Bond she had with Asgore."

Sans' eye-lights grew larger as his sockets widened in surprise,"i wasn't expecting her to ever give asgore another chance. this is a surprise. …how is the kid taking it?"

"They are thrilled! They said this would be the first time they had an 'intact family' before. Undyne and Alphys are expected to keep track of any incoming offers or calls! …as well as deleting any that contain anything unsavory. At least until they are back." Papyrus shared with a grin.

Even more surprising, it didn't seem that the two Boss monsters were waiting to mend the divide. Perhaps it had taken another huge scare to bring home what really mattered? It was true that they had dodged a large bullet since the humans had 'good' intentions but it was still clear what the outcome would have been.

Taking time to fix broken things while they were safe was a wise decision. As their leaders, seeing a happy Bond instead of one of necessity would strengthen what they already had.

"I trust the Royal Scientist in that task but I could see Captain Undyne not deleting those messages and making a hitlist." Edge stated mildly, which caused Papyrus to sputter while Red smirked. Sans merely sighed and went back to his breakfast as there was no attesting that Undyne had become even less trusting of their human neighbors after this incident.

Sans didn't begrudge her that.

"So what will you be doing, brother? I imagine working in the Lab is dangerous so I am guessing that is not it?"

Sans looked up at his younger sibling and smiled fondly,"i think i'll focus on bringing this pup into the world. spending time with you and my pack." The small skeleton used to claim laziness, but after being kidnapped and having everything threatened again just…

Sans was tired and wanted to be taken care of now.

The other skeletons gentled at the unspoken words and Papyrus didn't berate his sibling this time,"you deserve a vacation. In fact, all of Monsterkind is kind of getting a vacation now! A long overdue one!"

Sans cocked his head,"vacation from what?"

"Why! Those time wasting meetings, of course! Now we can actually focus on progress and strengthening ourselves!" Papyrus grinned at the chuckle he got from his sibling before finishing his breakfast.

"Thank you, Edge! I just wanted to check in before I moved on! I still have to speak with Gerson and a few of the shopkeepers."

He nuzzled his scent on Sans with Red and Edge looking on fondly before bidding them all a farewell.

"i adore yer bro, sans. can we adopt him?"

The Omega blinked at his two Alphas, looking for any sign that this was a joke. He didn't find one,"you mean make him part of the pack?"

"A natural step, wouldn't you agree? After the pup is born?" The Pack Alpha asked and Sans beamed happily.

"sure. yeah! paps would be an awesome addition." The Omega couldn't wait for it now. For his whole family to be joined as one. Now all he had to do was keep himself and the pup healthy until then. Safe in the Embassy, his soul was cautious but hopeful. The humans had harmed his trust for them again but with this ultimatum from their Royalty, eventually things would work out.

Now was simply a waiting game to see what the future had in store.

Chapter Text

A month later saw the Omega through a lot of healing from the incident. What helped most was being in the presence of Edge and Red, listening to their deep purrs and being liberally scent-marked by both monsters. Papyrus dropping by often was the other balm for his soul as their visits were full of laughter.

His instincts were becoming more prevalent as well. Sans could feel that the birth was near and often retreated to his Nest to fidget with it, as if every thread had to be in the correct place or everything would be wrong.

Logically, the Omega knew that his Nest was fine but couldn't stop the compulsion to nitpick at something that wasn't even there. Everytime the small monster would fuss, Edge and Red would become especially attentive to what Sans was up to, but would relax when the skeleton would rejoin them.

Daily announcements were played around the same time via the overcom system, reaching every sublevel in the Monster Embassy. There would be tiny snippets of any potential leads but would mostly reflect what activities and eateries would be available that day to keep Monsterkind busy and thriving. Special Interest Groups and a School were to be added very soon. Sans wouldn't be shocked if Alphys came up with the groups, as it was very close to those 'clubs' that appeared in her anime.

Toriel and Asgore moved about the Embassy, speaking to their people and also taking part in leading their own groups. Tori started a knitting circle and Asgore a Tea Appreciation group.

Sans joined the knitting circle initially as a joke but happened to actually be good at it. He and the Queen had been knitting clothes for his pup for the past few weeks. He always grinned and asked if they were too tiny but she assured him with a wide smile that no, they were not.

His soul swelled everytime he added a new piece to the drawer Sans had sat aside for his pup.

Frisk also made themselves busy, seeing as they were once again the only human that Monsterkind had. They flitted from group to group, made time to talk to virtually everyone to keep their spirits up. When asked if they minded living in the Embassy when the child could go outside with their kind of they so choose, Frisk frowned and shrugged.

-Why would I do that?! My family and friends are here!-

And that was that, as far as convincing the child to go out to bask in the sun and possibly enjoy the Surface. Sans was proud of Frisk for their efforts, especially after what had happened. Their promise could have been broken while Frisk had been terrified of an unknown outcome.

But they had refused.

And now they were living in another Underground and seemed content with it. The Omega didn't have to ask. Their family and friends were safe. No one had died. They had promised. Those were the three crucial points that Frisk had expressed.

They weren't worried about a breach. If any human attempted to pass their shield, they would fall backwards and be paralyzed, clear in what had occurred and not the Embassy's issue as the big screen out front had a clear warning on what the consequences were. There was also a high fence the police had erected to keep out children and animals.

The only contact with humankind that mattered was the messages coming in through the official Monster Embassy line and they had all the time in the world to wait for an offer that suited them, whether it be lawyers or a new law drawn up in hopes of obtaining rights to the healing capsules mentioned.

It helped having such a strong bargaining chip. Humans were kind, yes, but they also could be very greedy. At least on this issue, most had the best intentions at heart.

After listening to the daily announcements (Grillby's and Nice Cream Guy were teaming up to do a certain dish, the art group was running a contest), attending the knitting circle and creating the most adorable purple onesie, Sans arrived home and nuzzled his Mates.

The immediate need to check his Nest rose and the small skeleton followed the compulsion. He placed the new onesie in the drawer and circled his Nest, scrutinizing the outside before crawling in. Hugging the sparrow plushie close, the Omega settled and then realized he wouldn't be leaving.

He preened and rubbed his sweet scent all over the covers, purring and generally kicking up a fuss as he got comfortable.

It was there that Edge and Red found him an hour later, sockets at half-mast. At their arrival, the Omega didn't feel like forming words, simply purring in content whilst obviously waiting. His clothes had been discarded and kicked out of the Nest to deal with later. Edge carefully approached the edge of the structure, knowing both of them would be unwelcome within during the birthing.

"Do you need anything, Omega?"

Sans' eye-lights grew larger and he flicked his attention to the book on pups all three had been reading sitting on his dresser. Edge realized just what Sans was asking for, smiling openly upon realizing that their Omega wasn't just preening but was getting ready to bring their pup into the world.

"Very well." He bowed out of the room while Red approached and purred for Sans, grinning when he received a favorable response once the Omega was certain the Alpha wouldn't invade his Nest.

"we'll be right outside the door, sweetheart. yer are going to be an awesome mom."

Sans chirruped happily and watched Red back away with attentive eye-lights. The Pack Alpha came back with various towels, bottles of water and a large jar filled with their magic. It had been extracted directly from both Alphas' souls, so it was potent. Edge held each fabric out to be tested by Sans, some of them being rejected but more than enough making it into the Nest with the pregnant skeleton.

Sans double-checked what his Alphas had offered and then settled in, closing his sockets in a way to let his Alphas know that they could leave him alone. The pair didn't go far, the door left open a crack as they kept vigil just out of sight. This way, Edge and Red would be ready as soon as Sans called for them and could share their scent in the Omega's vulnerable state.

*****

The Omega watched both of his Mates depart and inhaled deeply to reassure himself of their proximity before focusing on the task at hand. He took each new towel and began lining his Nest, paying special attention to where he would be laying. The skeleton didn't want the excess cyan magic to ruin the fabric underneath. The excess were used to form a rough cradle to lay the pup while Sans kept a few loose so he could use them for clean up.

Settling in, the Omega focused on his breathing and listening to his instincts. He could feel pressure building in his ecto-body and the innate sense that Sans was right where he needed to be. Many times, he simply scented the temporary cradle and chirped as a way to stay in touch with his Pack, heartened by their steady and reliable responses to his contact cry.

The pressure kept building until with a long keen, watery blue magic gushed against his femurs. Whimpering, the Omega reached for one of the towels and moved his pelvis up to pad the area more, cleaning up what he could since Sans still had the mind to keep the mess down.

Bracing back against his Nest, the small Omega began to push, willing both excess magic and his pup to separate from his body. The tie between his own soul and that of his baby's was the most difficult part. Even though they had physically separated and the Omega knew logically that his pup had to join the world now, the connection had to be coaxed.

An hour passed doing just this, Sans whining as he pushed with both his body and his magic, reassuring the Perseverance soul that it was safe and this was how it was meant to be. Another hour and the monster did what he could as he tired, more time stretching between each burst of energy.

Mopping up the excess magic escaping whenever possible, Sans shifted his body and puffed out a tired breath, rubbing his belly over the soul and cooing as he pushed less harshly but just as firmly.

It was alright. His pup would be safe outside. He was ready to hold his newborn, know their scent and nuzzle into tiny bones.

After five arduous hours, this finally did the trick, Sans gasping as the soul flashed brightly and he bent his knees, the last clean towel cupped to take the sudden weight of a very fitful pup.

Sans crooned at the small cries and pulled the pup up and into his arms, blown eye-lights taking in his gorgeous babybones. Purring, he rubbed all cyan magic away and nuzzled into a small skull flushed with light purple magic. His pup still smelled of milk and he was quickly taking on Sans' Omega sweet fragrance.

Pleased with the now dry bones, the monster began a constant soothing purr as he situated calming limbs into the onesie he created, warming the small pup and then holding them close.

*****

A trill came from the room, something both skeletons hadn't heard from their Omega before but both monsters knew it was a summons. Edge stepped in first quickly followed by Red and the Mates stopped at the sight of a tiny bundle in their Omega's arms. Clothed in a soft onesie that Sans had created just for this, the Omega looked up with an overjoyed grin. His bones had been wiped clean, the magic soiled towels pushed out of the Nest. The bottles that had held the Alpha's magic were empty.

Cautiously, Edge approached the Nest and touched it. When Sans merely issued that happy and inviting trill a second time, the Pack Alpha entered the Nest with Red hurriedly following his Mate. They each took a side, both to protect their Omega and newborn pup and to see properly at the same time.

Red immediately crooned as Edge's teeth stretched into a wide, genuine smile. The pup was small and had a good mix of his parent's genes. Porcelain bone and tiny, the pup was flushed with light purple magic. A small purple tongue tested Sans' finger as the Omega continuously purred for the babybones. There were sharp features but everything was rounded by his mother's gentler features.

"look at yer, so beautiful." Red praised before looking at the Omega's blown eye-lights,"have yer decided on a name for 'em?"

Sans hummed and looked at his Mates,"i was thinking 'kabel'. it's a good font name."

Edge leaned down and gently scent marked the pup before his smile grew incredibly fond,"welcome to the world, Kabel." Sans nuzzled into Edge as Red shared his own scent before cuddling with them both, watching sleepy small sockets shut as all the parents looked on.

Chapter Text

It took a year for Sans to develop a successful capsule that could hold healing magic akin to how humankind invented the casing for their many types of medicine. In between raising the new pup, getting help from Red, throwing around ideas when he couldn't be physically present in the lab due to dangers early on; it all boiled down to a year of research, testing and more trials. But finally, after getting aid from many helping hands; they had enough Magic Healing Pills to show for their hard work.

Queen Toriel, King Asgore and Frisk had appeared on the big screen outside the Monster Embassy to announce that a practical demonstration would take place at Mount Ebott Mercy Hospital the following week. Coordinating with the officials, media, police and fire departments, as well as the hospital itself was a technical hardship. They had to cordon off the area for five hours to make it safe, set a barricade for the humans outside and make it so that no one but working staff was inside. A group of diplomats, scientists and medical professionals were to accompany the monster royalty along with Mettaton, their only trusted source to get what was happening inside out to the public swiftly and accurately.

Despite his love for drama and flair, Mettaton was absolutely serious in filming this moment and felt the weight of it. He both adored it and was frightened at not catching everything correctly but Alphys had been very supportive.

The day came, with Sans hugging Frisk and chuckling as his pup squeaked in farewell to the growing human. Then, the defensive measures were lowered enough that Asgore, Toriel, Frisk and Mettaton could leave under both human and monster Guard. The MHP had already been taken to the hospital via an armored vehicle an hour before. Sans took the lift to the home he shared with his Pack, smiling at Papyrus and happy that the extension of their Pack now included both Kabel and his younger sibling.

The television was already tuned into the human's feed showing the outside of the hospital. The ticker tape scrolling at the bottom of the screen read- "Breaking News: Monster Royalty to reveal magical healing pills and their effect on patients within Mount Ebott Mercy Hospital to broker peace agreement."

"they better get a good deal or we'll take our stuff and leave." Red scoffed, the Omega smiling inwardly at how his shorter Alpha censored his cursing around their pup.

"Oh, they will get a 'good deal'! Frisk said that their medical science couldn't hold a candle to our healing magic!" Papyrus enthused with a beaming grin that was infectious. Even Edge was smirking and watching the screen with attentive eyes. They waited anxiously for the Queen and King to arrive, Sans bouncing a cooing Kabel in his lap, the babybones nibbling harmlessly on one of his mother's phalanges.

Everyone straightened when the news anchor became excited, a procession of cars driving past the barricade and stopping in front of the hospital. The feed was automatically taken over by Mettaton, the camera zooming in on the smiling Monarchy and beaming Ambassador. They made sure to wave to the gathered reporters and crowd before being rushed inside.

A line of doctors, diplomats and scientists shook the Boss Monsters large paws, looking both awed and shell shocked. Toriel was sweet, Asgore very polite and Frisk signing with a determined expression to their interpreter.

"It is an honor to have you here, your Majesties. Ambassador Frisk, how wonderful to see you in good spirits. Now, may I ask if those responsible for the development are present?" The hospital Director asked, wringing his hands in front of him in a way that reminded the Omega of Papyrus.

"Unfortunately, no. Doctor Alphys and Doctor Sans are the main developers and researchers responsible for their invention however they do not prefer the attention nor did they want to add more stress to today. We are aware our year long silence has caused tension. The King and I are here today to reveal the fruits of our labor and our honest intent to be both equal and peaceful with humankind as a whole." Toriel replied to the doctor and he smiled tentatively.

"Have you decided on how you are going to market this magic pill should it perform well?"

The King shook his head with a reproachful expression,"we will not put a price on the Magic Healing Pills. What we wish for is that any country who will accept us as equals draw up the paperwork and hold peace marches to show their solidarity after this demonstration. We want to grow and spread out on this earth. Money can come from other magically aligned goods but not when it comes to a human being's health."

There was a collective gasp and murmuring before a diplomat spoke up,"and if most nations think there should be a fee?"

"Then there will be a fee but only aiding in the production of more MHP." Toriel agreed, amiable to the terms. The humans around them offered small smiles before the doctor motioned the group, falling into step in between Frisk and Toriel.

"We have designed this route based on severity. We will start with the Emergency Room with patients already checked in with their ailments. As we visit each patient, tests will be done to ascertain how effective the…MHP, you said? Yes, and we will move up the ladder to more grievous injuries until we hit a point where the pills are no longer effective."

Mettaton spoke up then, startling the group,"I trust that you have taken a baseline of each patient so that the effects are accurately recorded."

Sans beamed, knowing Alphys would be cheering Mettaton on nearby for asking a question that made sure the proceedings were as scientific as they could be.

"Of course! Everything will be noted and recorded as accurately as possible!" One of the scientists hurried to assuage, smiling when she received a nod of approval. Two Royal Guard's fell into step with the group, holding metal suitcases with the pills inside. The way the cases were handcuffed to their carriers reminded Sans of some human films they had seen before the lockdown.

Nonetheless, it was a good way to protect their invention.

Their Pack watched with bated breath as the first patient was paid a visit, eyes wide and watching the group. The doctor listed off a fractured arm and broken femur. The Omega winced in sympathy as his sibling and Mates grumbled, Kabel cooing to all of them as if to comfort the older monsters.

The patient was handed a single glowing green pill, hesitant but swallowed it down all the same. The change was immediately noticed, the lines of pain fading and the patient asking to stand with an elated smile.

"I apologize, but we must get an x-ray before you do that. How are you feeling?" A scientist questioned.

"Elated! Warm…. It's odd, but I feel like the pill dissolved and gave me something like..a hug?"

"Magic is meant to spread as soon as it hits your body. Green magic, or Healing Magic is tied with compassion. There is no way to force a monster's empathy, so what you are feeling is genuine intent for you to get better." The Queen said with a bright smile, though her words warned that these pills could not be manufactured under slavery. A gentle warning and reminder that this had to be on their terms.

The patient thanked the Monarchy and they moved on as a nurse took the woman to the labs for an x-ray.

They visited many patients that day. A man who was in danger of losing a leg due to infection. A child with painful third degree burns. A coma patient that had been asleep for five years. An old man that had a bad heart. Lastly, those suffering from many types of Cancer were advised to take the glowing pill. The whole Burn Wing, Cancer Center and Terminal Patients were given a MHP to get more results.

It took all of five hours before the patient's results and reactions were aired.

The woman with the fracture in her arm and break in her femur was up and walking without aid, her bones having mended.

The man whose leg was at risk for amputation from the vicious infection had beaten the inflammation. Asking for another dose and being okay'ed by the Queen herself, the second pill had the man's leg whole and healthy. In no danger of being cut off or the infection spreading further.

The child was giggling and running with the others in the Burn Wing, the serious wounds light and only requiring another dose before every patient appeared to never had suffered serious burns at all.

The Coma patient was showing brain activity, with a cautiously hopeful sentiment that more treatments would allow for them to wake up.

The man's bad heart was beating stronger now and simply seemed to require more doses of the pills to completely heal.

The cancer patients weren't weak from their radiation treatments and the doctors were marveling at slides that showed a reduction in cancerous cell counts.

The Monarchy and Humans Ambassador left with wide smiles, the humans around the barricade cheering as the staff applauded as they took their leave back to the Monster Embassy.

The world reacted.

Heartily and swiftly.

The news showed the City of Mount Ebott was filled with peaceful marches full of hopeful humans. It wasn't just their city. Before the night was out, the whole country was in the streets.

The next few days, more countries added their positive voice. They had seen what equated to a miracle and the Embassy line was constantly ringing with offers of immediate citizenship and equality, from places and people from all across the world.

Never had monster sentiment been so roaringly positive.

Sans held his pup close and looked at his Pack as Frisk banged through the front door!

-WE DID IT! MONSTERS ARE NOW EQUAL IN MOUNT EBOTT!-

"AND SOON THE WORLD!" Papyrus crowed, only looking slightly guilty as his brother had to work with a fussy Kabel from the noise,"sorry, brother. Apologies my dearest little Kabel."

"i'll allow it. we did do it. everything did work out. no broken promises."

Frisk softened and nodded,-no broken promises. not ever again.-

-Epilogue-

Chapter Text

Five Years Later…

"Mama! Mama!"

Red snatched up his first pup with a roaring laugh, drawing a shocked but excited squeal from the babybones trapped in the Alpha's embrace,"daddy, noo!"

"daddy yes! why're calling for yer mama though, hun? yer know he's recovering in his nest." Ruby eye-lights watched as the pup huffed in discontent, rolling their purple eye-lights and reaching for the closed door.

"Mama said he would read a book to me today!"

Red softened,"it'll have to be a bedtime story, Kabel. yer sibling gave yer mama a tough time of things."

The pup poured but settled for being held by his daddy, the Alpha scent marking the babybones with gentle nuzzles.

"Where is Father?" Kabel questioned and Red hummed, cooing to their child.

"father is with mama, now. yer stuck with me, hun. did yer want to visit big brother?"

As always, any mention of Papyrus brought instant joy and the pup shrieked happily,"BIG BROTHER!"

"alright. alright." He called back to his Mates before leaving with Kabel in his arms.

Sans sighed deeply, having drank his Alphas' magic and brought a second life into the world.

However, unlike Kabel, this little pup was brought forth into a world that was bright and hopeful, not fraught with uncertainty. He liberally scent-marked the new babybones, knowing that Edge was within reach should he need his Pack Alpha. His instincts were satisfied with his first pup being in Red's care. Or, Papyrus's now as well if he had heard that call correctly. Edge stood in the corner as a silent sentinel, watching over him post-labor as the Omega quieted down to Bond with the pup.

The skeleton's mind drifted in a fog, exhausted from the ordeal.

Sans had certainly come a long way. He had originally been suppressing his instincts and didn't think much of his status as an Omega. Then two monsters from another universe literally burst into his life, upending everything he thought he knew. They had courted him, Bonded with him and invited Papyrus into the Pack. They had two pups together now.

Sans couldn't think of anything he would change, though the kidnapping could have been done away with.

This new life wouldn't be reset. They were moving forward into the future as was natural. No turning back, for better or worse.

The King and Queen had healed their Bond and Monsterkind had welcomed their new Princess two years ago. Frisk was the proud older sibling, now a teenager and out of stripes for the very first time. They had gotten help to change their body as they wished, something the skeleton had learned was just as controversial as their initial Emergence had been.

Undyne and Alphys had two twin pups, the aquatic woman having retired as a Captain to focus on her children with the Royal Scientist.

Edge had taken position as Captain, working because their Pack was bigger and allowed him to live his dream.

Red enjoyed living at home and helping raise the pups, being a daddy had softened the rough monster. Sans was happy to see more genuine smiles on his alternate Mate's face.

Mettaton had finally made it but, traveling all around the world to meet fans.

Ah, yeah. The entire globe was now open to monsters. Instead of just being stationed around the mountain that had once been their prison, Monsterkind could be found in any country now. The MHP had opened doors and now they were truly free. Magical Food and Crafts supported them economically.

The 'Pro-Monster Movement' members were behind bars for life. The information on the Collars had been destroyed, as well as how to create such a thing.

Humans knew about magic and Souls.

They would not learn that Monsters could take a Soul, the information that had started the War all those years ago. No monster spoke of it and no monster would even think of committing such a taboo.

Peace and equality had been won and Sans could only smile, genuinely and soul-deep at how this future had turned out to be. Nuzzling his new pup, the Omega chirped and Edge crossed the room to join Sans in the Nest to greet their babybones, scent marking them with the most ginger touch.

The skeleton hadn't believed in happy endings. His trauma from the Underground had nearly destroyed his concept of a 'future' at all. But here, right now…

The Omega felt this was his own.
