Chapter 1: Finding Out

Chapter Text

It was a pleasant surprise for the Theerapanyakul household. Their youngest omega, Porchay, was pregnant. The Theerapanyakul household only ever had one omega in their long bloodline of Alphas. That being, Khun Tankhun Theerapanyakul. Of course, they never looked down on omegas, for the rules the family followed were firm and burned into their very being. The first one to find out about this had been, surprisingly, Mr. Korn.

Chay had supposedly been feeling under the weather, so he had visited their medical wing. The doctor had made him take some tests, and when he was making the results the following day, Korn had visited him to get his usual prescription of vitamins. When Korn had asked him what the report was about, the doctor had happily informed him that he was going to be a grandfather.

Korn was over the moon. This was his first grandchild. Porsche was an Alpha, so he couldn’t bear children. His only hopes were Tankhun and Kim. Unsurprisingly, Kim was the first one to give him a grandchild. His youngest son, whom he failed to keep beside him, unlike Tankhun and Anakinn. He won’t repeat the same mistake with his first grandchild. He will make sure to spoil the child to no end so that they will never want to leave.

With determination, he had ordered Chan to pick out more buffed and well-trained bodyguards for Chay separately. That detail included Pete.

Pete had been confused when he received the information that he had been reassigned as Chay’s security detail. Not to mention, he was the head. He had been even more surprised when Big had walked in with a very confused face.

“Why are you here?” Big had asked. They hadn’t been informed about meeting their colleagues who would be a part of the newly formed security detail. Pete stared at him, dumbfounded, before he countered Big with his own, “No, why are you here?”

They both glared at each other before Big sighed and said he had been reassigned as Chay’s security detail. Pete gasped, “ME TOO!” He yelled. Big hissed at him for being so loud, and they both stayed in an awkward silence before they both blurted out, ‘Do you know why, though?’. They met eyes before they both looked away. They were as clueless as the other ones, so they stayed quiet as they waited for Chay or Chan or anyone else to come.

Soon enough, Chan entered the room with three more bodyguards. They were all buffed up, and Pete felt a little self-conscious between them. He pushed that thought aside. He was their head. They followed his command in making sure Chay was safe. And he followed Kim. And as far as he knew, Kim would never risk Porchay's safety. So, Pete was going to make sure Porchay was okay and unscathed.

When Chan briefed them about their jobs, Pete nearly lost his footing. Chay was pregnant?! How?! Wait… he knows how, but when?! He was choking on air. Big seemed speechless as he zoned out. With this, they were the second people who had found out about Chay’s pregnancy.

The third person to find out about his pregnancy was Chay himself. He had gone back to the main compound with Kim’s bodyguard, Quin, to get his test result, as the doctor had informed him. When he stepped inside the medical wing, he was surprised to find Korn there talking with the doctor.

“Ah, Chay! Please come in!” Korn beckoned him over when he saw him in the doorway. Chay had been very nervous and confused when Korn asked him if the chair was comfortable enough for him. Only when he replied that the chair was comfortable did Korn turn back towards the doctor and continued talking about… baby arrangements? What?

He patiently waited for them to finish talking before the doctor turned toward him. Chay anxiously leaned forward in his seat while he fidgeted with his fingers. The doctor smiled at him before he dropped the bomb on Chay and handed him his reports.

Chay sat there staring at the doctor like he had grown two heads while he slowly took the file from the man. When he opened it, the report clearly stated a ‘Positive’ beside the ‘Pregnancy:’. He was suddenly overwhelmed with a new wave of emotions. Tears pricked at his eyes as he put a hand on his abdomen.

He was pregnant?

He looked up at the doctor before he turned to Korn beside him, who was looking at him with a very proud fatherly smile. He needed time to process this. The doctor went on to tell him about the dos and don’ts and that he should come in for a check-up every two weeks.

When Chay left the compound, he was very dazed. Quin didn’t leave his side the entire time the conversation went between him and the doctor. Chay was startled out of his thoughts when he was suddenly surrounded by five men in black suits. In his panic, he instinctively reached for Quin, who stepped in front to protect him. He only relaxed when he saw Pete and Big.

They both greeted him with the utmost respect, but Chay was too overwhelmed to notice it. He could not stop thinking about the fact that he was pregnant. It felt like a fever dream. He was pretty sure he would be waking up anytime soon with Kim’s arms wrapped around him in a secure hold.

Kim… He suddenly felt that familiar feeling of longing, but this time he felt it more strongly than his usual ones when his Alpha would be out for a meeting. He wanted to go home. He needed to go home. Now.

Chay must’ve said the last bit of his thoughts aloud because Quin was already escorting him to the car that was waiting outside. The other five followed suit. They didn’t travel in the same car as him, though.

The news slowly started to sink in, and Chay could feel the tell-tale signs of a panic attack. He felt nauseous. He asked Quin to stop the car because he needed to get some air and just think…

He was having a baby… not just a baby but Kim’s baby. Their baby…

He had a full-blown panic attack when the news finally sank in. This wasn’t a dream. It was real. He was pregnant. He was going to have a baby. The family’s youngest baby was going to have a baby. Holy shit!

Pete and Big were on high alert as they guarded him while Quin called Kim. Chay was having a panic attack, and none of them knew how to comfort him. Not to mention, they were all Betas and were clueless about how they were supposed to be comforting a pregnant omega.

Quin rubbed Chay’s shoulder as he informed him in a small voice, “Boss Kim wants to talk to you…” He placed the phone beside the younger’s ear as he gently wiped his tears.

“Chay…” Porchay whimpered at the soothing voice of his Alpha. Kim sounded as distressed as Chay felt.

“Kim. I’m scared. What if we fail to be good parents? What if something happens before the baby is here? How are we going to cope with this?” Chay was rambling. He was so out of it that he didn’t even know what he was saying. Kim calmed him down with a comforting ‘it’s okay’. He had Chay follow the leaf breathing pattern, and when he was sure that Chay was calm enough to make it home, he asked Chay to give the call back to Quin.

“Bring him home, now. Don’t stop anywhere and come back. If he has a panic attack again, let him play the magic trick while you drive him home. I’ll be there in 15.” Kim ordered. Quin replies with a firm, “Yes, sir.”

Quin escorted Chay back to the car and sat him on the passenger seat. He opened the dashboard of the car and took out a deck of cards. “Let me teach you a magic trick while we drive back home, master Chay,” he starts as he shuffles the cards before picking one out from the middle. He looks at it secretly and shuffles the deck again with the card he just saw. “I want you to find the card I just looked at while I drive you to master Kim.”

Chay took the cards from him as he searched for the specific card. He would occasionally show Quin random cards so that he could confirm if it was the one he had looked at while Quin drove them home. When they reached the apartment parking lot, Chay forgot about the game and immediately ran to Kim, who was getting out of his own car a few feet away.

Kim caught him halfway through with an ‘oof’ as Chay all but jumped at him. Kim rubbed his little omegas back as the younger wrapped his limbs around him. Chay hugged him tightly as Kim walked inside the building and took him to the elevator. Quin followed him with a file in hand as he gave it to Kim before he pushed the button to the penthouse. Kim exchanged a few words with Quin and asked him about Pete and the other three bodyguards.

Chay was anxious. Kim had his reports in his hand, and Chay was reminded of how he was in this situation with him wrapped around Kim like a koala while he nuzzled the Alpha's neck. Kim let Chay cling to him throughout the elevator ride before they reached their suite. Quin stood in his position by the entrance door as Kim pushed it open and went inside.

He placed the file on the coffee table before he sat down on the couch. He was still rubbing soothing circles on Chay’s back as the young Omega was perched on his lap while he nuzzled him, trying to drown himself in the Alpha’s scent.

Kim cupped the back of his Omega's neck and gently pulled his head away from his hiding spot on Kim’s shoulder. “Baby,” he called quietly. Chay leaned back and looked at him. Kim brushed the younger’s bangs away, which made the Omega sigh in contentment. Kim indulged him as he played with his hair with one hand while the other massaged his stiff neck.

The young omega sagged against him in such a domestic way that it made Kim flush. He continued the motion of his hands as he asked, “What happened, little one?” Chay made a confused noise as he tilted his head to the side.

He looked so adorable that Kim couldn’t resist placing a kiss on his jaw. Chay didn’t react as he still looked confused. “Back at the main house, you went for a check-up.” He trod the water carefully, considering Porchay nearly had a panic attack in the middle of the road because of whatever he was told. The thought of his angel curled up in the middle of the road, having a panic attack and being vulnerable when Kim was not with him, made him tighten his arms around the omega in a display of desperation and protectiveness.

Porchay stared at Kim for a minute straight before his subdued anxiety started bubbling back to the surface. His hands fisting the Alpha’s shirt tighten his hold on them. A wave of dread settled in his stomach, and he suddenly wanted to empty it. Kim must’ve seen his face paling because one second he was curled up on top of the alpha, and the next he was kneeling in front of the toilet, emptying whatever little food was left in his stomach.

Kim stayed by him, rubbing his back as he breathed heavily. Porchay grimaced at the taste lingering in his mouth. He stood up on wobbly legs with the help of Kim. He rinsed his mouth before Kim took him and sat him down on the bed before handing him a bottle of water. When Chay finished drinking, the two of them sat in silence for a while. Chay stared at his hands fiddling on his lap while Kim observed him from beside him.

To his astonishment, Chay was the one to break the silence first. He talked in a low voice, but Kim could still make out the words he was saying. “I went to get the test results, and your father was there too.” Kim frowned, “Papa was there??”

Chay hummed. “I don’t know why he was there, but they were talking about something baby-related.” Chay was mumbling at this point, and Kim had to strain to hear him. Chay was trying to prolong this as long as possible, but thought it wasn’t going to make a difference. With a heavy sigh, he clenched his eyes tight, tension rolling off of him in high waves, and he dropped the bomb on his alpha. “The doctor said I’m pregnant.”

It was silent.

Chay hesitantly opened his eyes to look at Kim, who was blinking owlishly at him. At first, Chay thought he heard and was in shock, but then realized that Kim didn’t hear it. He wasn’t half-wrong. Indeed, Kim didn’t hear the first part of the sentence, but he heard the last word. So being the kind human that he was, Chay repeated it for him, “I’m pregnant.”

Kim remained motionless as he processed the information as fast as he could. Chay was pregnant… As soon as the words settled in, everything turned white with a faint ringing in his head. Oh god, he was so stupid. Chay was pregnant, and the signs had been there all along! Suddenly, all of it started making sense.

The extra cuddles, the morning sickness, the sweet scent of vanilla hiding another underlying scent of orchid in it that lingered under his nose a minute too long, the mood swings, the whining, and crying whenever Kim needs to leave, but most importantly, Chay had asked him more than once to massage his back which escalated to something more, on more than one occasion.

It all made sense. Oh god, Kim was so fucking stupid. How could he not know his omega was pregnant when the most definitive evidence had been right in front of him? Chay was putting on weight. He had been for the past 8 days. He even remembered Chay asking him if he had gained weight, and Kim had told him a little bit, but it was okay because first, it wasn’t a lot, and second, there is no way in hell Kim wouldn’t love him despite anything else.

Chay was the kind who wouldn’t get fat even after eating 3 servings in one. But then again, Chay had barely gained 2 kgs in the past eight days, so, of course, Kim couldn’t have known for sure, but there was no defending how he didn’t notice the Omega’s scent changing. It was turning sweeter with the underlying scent of orchid growing stronger with it.

“Oh my fucking god.”

Well, out of all reactions, Chay hadn’t expected that.
