Light flickered. They'd left them up. Beaming like flashing ticks, pulsing softly in her reflection. Swathing and enveloping the juts of her face. She was the art. The artist. She watched herself cry. It felt like a moving piece, a fleeting shot in a movie. She tried to scream. Came out muffled. A pathetic weak moan. Her sadness inspired lethargy. Sadness. Something prolonged couldnt have a word. It was too familiar. Maybe not sadness, but home. She never opened her windows, her doors, her vents. She couldn't dare to let herself out.
