Work Header

I don't know what I did, or how I did it, but I did something right.

Summary:

Katsuki can’t have pups. If it wasn’t obvious by the fact that all of his friends have at least one by now, then this should finalize all assumptions. Deku and pink cheeks have two, Icy hot and Tape face have one, even Kaminari and Shinsou had one, though the pup had only just been born a week ago. Katsuki was pretty much the only one without a pup.

He’d known since he presented as an omega that it would be nearly impossible for him to have pups of his own. Something was wrong with the amount of eggs he carried, and his hormones were basically fucked. Big subjects for a teenagers mind. Katsuki didn’t really understand it until he was much older. The chances of him ever getting pregnant were slim to none, and if he ever did get pregnant, the possibility of miscarriage was very high.

So how did this happen?

how could he possibly be pregnant and what the hell was he going to do?

or, after years of saying he could never have pups of his own, Katsuki finds out he's pregnant.

Notes:

WOOOOOO new work. I've been thinking about this fic for month so here we are. Im so excited mwahahaha

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: the impossible

Chapter Text

The lights were dim, the room filled with people all celebrating tonight’s grand event. It was almost too loud for Bakugou to enjoy, but he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t excited too. You’d think that Eijirou and Katsuki had just mated by the turnout of people. All of their friends from their days at UA, and even friends that they had made as they claimed their ranks.

Eijirou and Katsuki had been mated for years now, almost nine, climbing the ladder of hero work together. They’d moved in together after graduation, getting a quaint two bedroom apartment at first. The alpha and omega were two dumb teens still navigating life. Katsuki was freshly eighteen, and the claim mark on his neck had been so fresh and new as they moved his nest into their bedroom. People thought they wouldn’t last, especially news sources. Dynamight was already very popular for being such a ruthless omega, as he quickly clawed his way up the charts. He’d been the first to make it into the top ten of his class, and sat at number ten for years. Eijirou cheered him on every step of the way.

Eventually Eijirou’s ranking also moved up, breaking the top twenty, and Katsuki and Deku battled for the number one spot. It wasn't until Bakugou turned twenty three that he’d beat Deku out and become the first omega to reach the spot of number one pro hero.

He deserved it after all. Living in a body that told him he would never make it to the top. Being an omega was horrible, scent patches never worked, and the constant urge to throw up around over eager alphas at meet and greets definitely pushed Katsuki’s buttons. But at least he had Eijirou. They were mates, but even more than that they were best friends, and lovers.

When Eijirou broke the top ten, he and Katsuki moved into a much bigger house, and while all of their friends dropped here and there from hero work to have pups, their ranking only skyrocketed. At one point Eijirou himself was battling Katsuki for the spot of number one. Deku and Uraraka had welcomed their second pup into the world, and Shoto was taking time off for his first pup as well.

Now Katsuki and Eijirou were twenty six, both in the top ten, with an agency they shared together. It managed most of their classmates from 1a, save for a few who’d moved around Japan, and things were good.

Tonight they were celebrating the fact that Katsuki and Eijirou were traveling to America for six months.

They had been planning for a while but didn’t make the final leap until they knew Deku or Shoto would be around to fulfill their spots in the agency while they were away. The plan was to scout new talent, find new recruitments, and hopefully get some experience in America as well.

Izuku and Ochako had insisted they celebrate the news at their place this week, which was how Katsuki landed himself in an overcrowded house mixed with familiar scents of his pack and other friends he’d grown used to. He wasn’t much for talking at gatherings like this. The omega would rather sit in a secluded spot and watch Kirishima talk to everyone. His alpha was ecstatic about this, all bright eyed and flashy smile. He hadn’t stopped talking to Midoriya since he’d gotten there, explaining exactly what he’d do when he got to America, and what hero’s he’d meet first.

Nerds. Both of them. Mina and Uraraka supplied alcohol which didn’t help the raging migraine Bakugou was sporting from how loud everyone was. But even so, he couldn’t deny that he was excited as hell. This was a huge deal for him. Bakugou had accomplished so much in such a short time, all while being an omega.

“Kats! Come tell Hanta about the hero in America that reminds me of him,” Eijirou called from the kitchen. The redhead was most definitely a little tipsy right now. Arm slung over Deku’s shoulder as he took another sip of his beer.

Katsuki wasn’t one to drink. He didn’t like feeling the effects of it in the morning. The blonde sighed before abandoning his spot on the couch and joining the self proclaimed Bakusquad, and shitty Deku, in the kitchen. Half listening to what everyone was talking about, half thinking about what he’d be doing in America. Somehow they’d gotten off on a tangent after Katsuki murmured something about a spider web quirk.

“Uncle Kacchan,” a voice pulled him from his daze.

He refocused his eyes on the little boy standing in front of him, peering up through brown curls. Ochako and Deku’s oldest pup, Takeshi. The group had stopped their conversation, opting to look at the little boy as well, who was holding a teary eyed look.

“Hey kid,” he found himself answering, but as he continued to stare back into familiar green eyes, Katsuki couldn’t help himself. He scooped up the boy and propped him on his hip. He was almost six years old, and probably getting a little too big to be held, but Katsuki was just the uncle. He didn’t have to worry about that, that was shitty Deku’s problem.

Katsuki watched as tears started to drip from his eyes, onto freckles skin. He looked so much like his childhood friend, it was almost getting weird. He was sensitive just like Izuku, and cried almost as much as he did when they were younger. Looking at Takeshi was like looking at a brown haired version of Deku.

“What’s wrong?” Katsuki found himself tilting his head, eyebrows furrowed in concern. Maybe he was a shitty omega with no pups, but he was no monster. He’d learned how to treat and care for children, and Katsuki knew he was the best at it. Kids loved him, especially Takeshi.

“You’re not leaving for good are you?” The little boy asked. A few of the others around him cooed at the pup's concern.

Takeshi was the oldest of all of their friends' children. Ochako got pregnant as soon as she turned twenty. Katsuki remembers the day Deku told him that Ochako was pregnant. They were still young, but the alpha was so excited about his pup.

Katsuki had to hold back his resentment as it boiled deep inside him. Not because of the fact that Deku would be leaving hero work once the pup was born, and not because he hated the idea of pups.

But because he was so painfully, and bitterly jealous.

Sometimes it sucked.

He’d known since he presented as an omega that it would be nearly impossible for him to have pups of his own. Something was wrong with the amount of eggs he carried, and his hormones were basically fucked. Big subjects for a teenager's mind. Katsuki didn’t really understand it until he was much older. The chances of him ever getting pregnant were slim to none, and if he ever did get pregnant, the possibility of miscarriage was very high. His heat cycle was shit, and even when he scented things it was too light, barely there. All bullshit, future drama in the eyes of a fifteen year old, but as he got older it became more apparent that his life would always be different than his friends. He’d never have to worry about pregnancy the way his friends did, he never had to wear scent patches or take suppressants. Katsuki rarely felt his bond mark that connected him to Eijirou.

When Shoto, a beta, could get pregnant and he couldn’t, his blood boiled.

It wasn’t that he wanted a baby when he was younger, definitely not when he was in UA, but it pained Katsuki to know that he wasn’t good at something. That no matter how hard he tried, there was nothing that could fix him. That he was broken, faulty, dysfunctional. It took him a long time to agree to mate with Eijirou for this exact reason.

Because who would want an omega that couldn’t be an omega. Katsuki had always known Eijirou wanted pups of his own, ever since he’d met the other man, and it hurt to know that he could never give him that. They weren’t ready for children earlier in life, and Katsuki would’ve died if he had to have a pup before he got the chance to become number one. But now that he’s achieved all of his goals, it feels like he’s constantly being reminded of the one thing he’ll never be allowed to have. Something he can’t change, or work for.

Obviously he couldn’t stay jealous of any of his friends who had pups, even when Eijirou looked at them as if they were his own, with eyes so full of love and longing.

“No, not for good,” he said softly. Katsuki wiped at the little boy's eyes, pressing away the thick, innocent tears that rolled down chubby blushing cheeks.

Takeshi was Katsuki's right hand man. His teeny little partner in crime. He decided if he couldn’t have his own pup, he’d just become the best uncle that any of his friends' pups could ask for.

Even though it hurts sometimes. It hurts really, really bad sometimes to hold a pup in your arms and get it snatched away by its real parents. Katsuki knew the pups weren’t his, and he knew their parents weren’t teasing him on purpose. But his omega knew no difference. His omega only knew that it didn’t have a pup when it should, and that its body wasn’t working properly.

It was probably for the best that he couldn’t get pregnant. There were definitely advantages. Like the fact that they didn’t need to waste money on condoms, and Katsuki’s heats were only once every two or three months. They got to do things that none of their friends could’ve done too, like go to America, and Katsuki knew that this trip would make Eijirou happy. Hopefully happy enough to fill the void of not having pups.

The party was fine. There was cake, there was beer, and Katsuki was happy. It was fine.

But something at Deku’s fucking house must’ve made Bakugou too sick to even walk during his patrol shift this morning. This was exactly why he decided not to drink, because he didn’t want to be sick for his morning shift. So why the fuck was he sick?

It was probably Deku’s snotty nosed kids, or Icy hots baby spreading its baby germs.

Whoever the culprit was, Katsuki vowed to get them back for this. His movements were sluggish, his body ached, and his stomach cramped horrible. He felt like he really might throw up on the sidewalk right next to Sero if they continued to walk.

Bakugou leaned forward to put his hands on his knees. He just had to get through another thirty minutes and then his shift would be over, and he could crawl into his soft nest. Usually he didn’t crave his nest like this. His omega wasn’t up to par with its instincts the way everyone else’s was. But right now he wanted the nest.

“Drink too much last night?” Sero laughed as he leaned against a building. They were in a pretty safe area, low crime rate, which paired nicely with Katsuki’s inability to walk more than a block.

“As if I’d drink myself away with you losers,” he hissed back, letting his head drop. He was dizzy. He really did feel hungover, but he couldn’t be. Bakugou hadn’t even drank, in fact he hasn’t drank in like weeks. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”

Sero pressed the back of his hand to Bakugou’s forehead, and when it didn’t get shoved away or chewed off he raised his brows.

“You don’t have a fever, but you do look pale. Let’s head back.”

“Fuck off,” Katsuki growled, but even so he allowed Sero to put an arm around his midsection and help him get back to the agency.

The nurse they hired was pretty good. She was efficient and thorough with her work, always fixing the problem quickly.

“Dynamight,” she murmured as she came back with her clipboard. She’d taken his blood as an extra precaution. Nothing had seemed wrong other than being extremely weak and nauseous.

He sighed, laying out of the stretcher with his eyes shut. He frequented this clinic a lot. In fact, the omega was almost positive that Eijirou created it for Katsuki. He was always getting himself sick, overworking himself, or injuring himself at work.

“Yeah? Just lay it on me. Is it dehydration again? Sun poisoning?”

“Are you aware that you’re pregnant?”

Her voice rang through him like a wind chime on a freezing cold day.

He immediately sat up and glared at her.

Maybe this lady was stupid and thought it was some fucked up joke.

“What the fuck are you—That’s physically impossible,” but as he looked at the nurse he could see the worry in her eyes. The seriousness of stature.

Oh fuck.

“You’re blood test shows that you’re—“

“If this is some sick fucking joke I’ll kill whoever put you up to it,” Katsuki snapped. There was no fucking way this was happening. This couldn’t be real.

“These are your HCG levels,” the doctor continued but her voice sounded so far away. Katsuki’s ears were ringing. He might pass out. “when these are high, they indicate pregnancy.”

Let Katsuki reiterate what he’s been saying for the past eleven years since presenting as an omega.

He cannot have pups.

For a multitude of reasons that range much farther than the fact that he’s supposed to be flying to America in less than a week.

“That’s not possible,” he croaked, gathering himself before rising to his feet quickly.

“If you’d like we can perform an ultrasound just to— Dynamight?!”

He was running out of the infirmary before she could even finish her sentence.

There was no way he was pregnant. It wasn’t possible. He was supposed to be infertile. His body wasn’t made to carry a pup. What if it was hurt right now? What if it was an ectopic pregnancy? It terrified Katsuki.

He didn’t want to go through this. He didn’t want to have to miscarry a pup, which is why he and Eijirou never even wanted to try and fix what was wrong with Katsuki.

He needed to get out of that infirmary, and as far away as possible, though he’s not entirely sure why. Bakugou knew he needed to get the ultrasound. He needed to see what the fuck was going on inside of him.

But part of him didn’t want to. The mere idea of seeing a pup, /his pup/, sent his stomach spiraling. It was like his brain was playing tug of war with his heart, or more specifically, his omega was playing tug of war with his conscience.

Because he was /pregnant/. He was finally pregnant with a pup of his own. Bakugou didn’t think he’d cared this much about having a baby. It was all set in stone, the idea that Katsuki would never be an omega that’s able to have pups, and he’d come to terms with it. He tried his best not to resent himself every single day, and eventually Bakugou was fine with not having a pup.

But now he was.

And even though the chances of his pup surviving were probably slim, and he could very well threaten his own life, he didn’t want to get the ultrasound.

Because the ultrasound will only lead to the worst, and Katsuki knows that.

He knows he should turn around, or call Eijirou, or decide what the fuck he’s going to do with a baby, but right now his omega is in charge of him. His omega wants to be pregnant for once, even if it’s short lived. Katsuki wants to say that he had a pup, no matter how small their time was.

“Hey babe! Hanta told me you were sick during patrol. Are you not drinking enough water again?” Kirishima waved back at the omega from the couch, eyes still stuck on the television.

Bakugou didn’t know what to say. He should tell Eijirou, should get a second opinion on what the fuck he should do about this, but he’s scared. Bakugou doesn’t want to deal with any of it right now.

“Yeah,” he says rather weakly. He still felt sick, but now he’s not sure if it’s the nerves or the pregnancy.

“Are you okay?” Kirishima questioned, finally turning around.

Bakugou was already dragging his feet to their bedroom, craving the comfort of his nest. He’d have to tell Eijirou eventually, but not yet.

“Tired.”

The next morning when he woke up, Katsuki didn’t feel sick at all. That only made him worry more. He’d never learned anything about pregnancy, because the doctors told him it would never happen. So Bakugou isn’t sure if he’s supposed to have morning sickness every morning, or what it means to not get sick. His omega was on edge, every smell was ten times stronger, every fabric felt a bit too scratchy, and every word that Kirishima spoke made him feel more and more guilty.

“Morning!” The red head smiled. He was already in his uniform, pouring coffee for himself and Bakugou as well. “I got a call from the realtors over in America and they said the house we’ll be renting should be ready to move into when we get there!”

Katsuki took the coffee once it was offered, but he didn’t drink it. He’s not sure if it’s safe. Suddenly nothing feels safe, and his stomach is aching even more than usual because he’d forgotten about /America/.

Eijirou was so excited for America and Katsuki could potentially shatter all of his mates dreams.

“Do you really want to go to America?”he questioned quietly, toying with the cup in his hands. Maybe Eijirou would get cold feet and back out. Maybe then they could deal with this together and not stress about leaving for America.

“What?” Eijirou frowned, shooting his mate a confused look. “Katsuki, we've been planning this for a year. What do you mean?”

The omega could only bite his lip, not sure what to say. What could he say? ‘Hey I’m pregnant but there’s a huge possibility that it won’t make it to full term, so we probably shouldn’t worry about it’.

No. He definitely could not say that. He couldn’t even utter the words full term without wanting to cry. It scared Bakugou how badly he wanted this for himself, how badly he wanted this to work for both of them. The omega barely ever thought about pups, only truly imagining it when he was around his pack pups.

But now that he was somehow pregnant, everything felt so different. Everything revolved around this pup that might not even be alive.

“Are you getting cold feet,” Kirishima broke him from his trance. He was closer now, coffee cup abandoned. He put his large, calloused hands around the omegas waist, letting the cotton tank top rise up a bit to rub his skin with his thumbs. Eijirou was always so touchy. Always grabbing and soothing, squeezing and stroking. He was so gentle with Katsuki, even though he was anything other than dainty.

Katsuki couldn’t help but let his mind wander to the idea of giving his alphas large hands something to hold. /Someone/ to hold.

He shook his head, clearing his thoughts. Right now wasn’t the time to daydream about the slim chances that his pup would survive. The way Kirishima would probably tear up when he held it, the way his alpha would give out the sweetest, softest scent. There was so much Katsuki wanted to offer Eijirou, but he would never be able to. Even now, he couldn’t give Eijirou a straight answer. He could admit that he was pregnant.

Katsuki was so scared.

“Just worried about the agency and shit,” he played it off.

Eijirou smiled at him before pulling him into a hug. Katsuki didn’t deserve an alpha like Eijirou.

“Kats, Izuku and Shoto practically co own our agency as it is. There’s nothing to stress about alright?”

He smelt of cinnamon, and something akin to cashmere. A scent so strong that Bakugou would notice it miles away, unlike his own much more dull scent. Would his pup ever come to love his own scent, or would it take comfort in Eijirou?

“Right Shitty Hair,” he swallowed thickly. He was a coward.

Katsuki’s day off passed with him sleeping pretty much the entire day. He didn’t wake up until Eijirou came home around dinner time, and they ate some fatty takeout.

He fell back asleep almost as soon as they finished their meals. It must've been the hormone imbalance that caused him to feel so exhausted, or maybe just the fact that he was growing into a tiny human. He wasn’t really sure.

When the sun just barely crawled to the sky, he woke up with the intense urge to vomit. He almost didn’t make it to the bathroom. It left his whole body shaking, and just when Katsuki thought he’d get up and go back to bed, another wave of nausea hit him.

Eijirou had woken up around the third wave of throwing up, and at this point it was just bile. Katsuki barely noticed he was in the room until a warm hand was pressed against his forehead.

“You don’t have a fever, maybe it was something you ate,” Eijirou said softly. The bathroom was dim as the sun just barely peaked over the earth, and the tile was cold. The only light in the bathroom came from Eijirou’s phone as he quietly tapped away, most likely moving the patrol schedules around to make sure Katsuki had today off.

Once again, the omega didn’t deserve an alpha like this. He was lying to him. Every fiber in his body wanted to tell Eijirou, but not like this. Not when he’d felt so terrified of losing the baby. He knew that telling Eijirou wouldn’t be an exciting reveal like Deku and Uraraka, or a big surprise like Shoto and Hanta’s. There would be no celebration like Momo and Jirou, or happy tears like Denki and Shinsou.

No, not for them. When Eijirou finds out, there will be intense fear, worry, and concern for Katsuki and the pups' health. The alpha would try to get them to the hospital as soon as possible to inevitably find out that Katsuki’s pregnancy wouldn’t last. They would have to cancel America so they could grieve.

Katsuki wasn’t ready to do that to his mate. He didn’t want to inflict that pain, but it was so excruciatingly painful to keep it a secret. Eijirou was his comfort, his safe space, the only person he could be vulnerable in front of.

“No it’s not,” he felt himself whisper, before immediately shutting himself up on impulse. He /couldn’t/ tell Eijirou. The guilt of knowing was eating him alive but the guilt of understanding what was to come next was killing him faster.

“Is it nerves?” Eijirou rubbed his omegas back tenderly. He was so caring, he’d be such an amazing father. “Is there something going on? You’ve been acting differently lately?”

Katsuki shook his head. It was all too much. He wanted to sleep and forget.

“Must’ve eaten something bad.”

His morning sickness eventually passed, and after sleeping the remainder of the day, he awoke to dinner cooking again. When Katsuki walked into the kitchen, Eijirou was on his laptop, food was cooking on the stove, and his alpha was happy.

“Okay, flights for America have been confirmed,” the redhead cheered.

He smiled towards Katsuki, and the omega couldn’t help but turn to look away.

Katsuki had to tell Eijirou. There was no way he could go to America.

“Katsuki what is going on with you,” Eijirou frowned. Bakugou could tell the alpha was growing annoyed, if not through his facial expression then through the confusion in the bond mark on his neck.

“Nothing,” Katsuki brushed it off, walking over towards the fridge. Eijirou was quick to stand, obviously not going to let this go. He pushed the fridge shut, effectively blocking Katsuki in between himself and the fridge.

“No it’s not nothing. It’s like you don’t even want to go anymore. What happened? Did I do something? Are you upset with me?”

“No,” Bakugou muttered, curling his arms in on himself. He’d never felt so weak, so tired, so upset.

“Then what is your problem,” Kirishima yanked at Bakugou’s arm, irritation growing thicker with each minute that ticked by.

“Stop it, Ei,” Bakugou slapped the other man’s hand away.

They’re always tough on each other. They can both handle it. But right now Katsuki can’t. Eijirou must’ve noticed something was really, /really/ off, because Katsuki rarely ever pushed Eijirou away.

Everyone else? Yes, but never Eijirou. The alpha snatched at the other man’s arm again, grabbing and pulling him away from the fridge. Katsuki’s never been so guarded in front of him and he hates it. He hates that it feels like Katsuki’s pulling away.

“No, tell me!”

Once again Katsuki thrashes in Eijirou’s hold, baring his teeth as he yanks his arm out of his mate's hold. He was being defensive, and almost protective? Of what, Eijirou wasn’t sure.

“Whatever Katsuki,” he let out an exhausted huff. He’d been concerned with his mate all week, and at this point he was too tired to even care right now. If Katsuki wanted space then he’d give the other man that.

Eijirou turned on his heel quickly, moving to turn off the stove, before grabbing his keys and wallet. He’d go to the agency and get things organized while Katsuki cooled off here.

“Eijirou,” Katsuki begged, following quickly on his mate's heels. His voice sounded strained, and scared. Something the redhead had barely heard from his mate.

He needed to be somewhere else right now, before he snapped at the omega. They were both hot headed and too stubborn to give up, and Eijirou really didn’t want to fight. They never get like this. He never feels like Katsuki is hiding something.

Just as he goes to grab the door knob to leave, Bakugou shoves himself in front of it, blocking his mate from leaving the house. Eijirou can’t help but notice the difference in his omegas scent now. It was still light, still a soft layer of powdered sugar that made Eijirou’s mouth water, but now there was a hint of something sweeter, and thicker.

He furrowed his brows in confusion, looking down at his omega, who’s eyes were wide like saucers. Katsuki has never looked so afraid. Eijirou waited for the gun to fire, for Katsuki to tell him the worst news imaginable. It had to have been bad for the blonde to be acting like this. All skittish and scared.

“I’m pregnant,” Katsuki said suddenly.

Eijirou felt like he’d been hit with the force of a hurricane.

Katsuki could see the other man processing it, letting all of the emotions take place on his face. Shock, confusion, worry, a hint of a smile, before being replaced with worry again.

The blonde hated it. He hated that this is how they had to react. That they couldn’t be excited about it.

He continued rambling, letting his fingers thread angrily into his own hair, “And I’ve been waiting to tell you because I don’t know what to do! We’re suppose to be in fucking America next week, and you’ve been so excited, and I don’t even know if my body can handle a baby, or if it’ll survive full term. I'm not supposed to be able to have pup so how did this happen?”

Kirishima was at a loss for words, mouth open and eyes wide. He didn’t know what to say, because this wasn’t supposed to happen. He’d always wanted pups, there was no denying that, but he also knew Katsuki couldn’t get pregnant. Not just because he was infertile but because if he ever did become pregnant, the complications were high. It could die. /Katsuki/ could die, and that was far, far worse than anything a baby could make up for.

“Did you get an ultrasound?” He asked softly. He let his scent come out lightly, cinnamon filling the air to calm his frantic omega. He’s never seen Katsuki this scared. Usually Eijirou is the one to fall apart, and Katsuki is the one to pick up all the pieces.

But right now Katsuki looked like he might cry, which he never does. Eijirou can only recall two times that Katsuki has ever cried in front of him.

“No, I left after the blood test,” the blonde shook his head, tugging tighter at his hair. “I’m fucking scared Eijirou. Tell me what to do, I don’t fucking know what I’m suppose to do.”

Eijirou might throw up. Not because Katsuki's pregnant, but because he can tell Katsuki wants to keep it, and that’s not likely going to happen. They didn’t even know if it was a safe pregnancy yet, they hadn’t even gotten an ultrasound.

But his mind couldn’t stop wandering anyways. Even though this could end in pain, he imagined if it didn’t. Imagine a teeny tiny pup in his hands, or cuddled close to Katsuki's chest. A perfect mix of him and his omega, everything they’ve both secretly wanted but never admitted.

“Do you want to keep it?” He found himself asking. Katsuki looked at him like he was crazy, his hands falling out of his hair and hitting his hips as they fell.

“How am I even supposed to decide that? I don’t know if it’s safe or healthy or if it’ll survive—“

Eijirou interrupted him, grappling at his hands now, “But besides all of that, would you want to keep the pup?”

Vibrant Scarlett met deep crimson eyes. Katsuki stared back at Eijirou, deep into the face that already knew the answer. He couldn’t help the way his lip quivered, so he bit down on it hard. Katsuki’s eyes burnt, and his head hurt, and he wanted all of this to just stop.

He just wanted to have a pup for a little while. For as long as he could before dealing with the ultimate use that is survival rate.

The omega nodded his head slowly, barely noticeable as tears dropped down from his eyes in thick globs. Of course he wanted this, who wouldn’t?

Eijirou was quick to hug his mate tightly, engulfing him in cinnamon spice to cancel out the burnt, sour scent Katsuki himself had elicited.

“Then let’s be happy right now, and then we can decide what to do, yeah? Let’s just be happy right now.”

They stayed like that for a long time, standing in front of the door, intertwined in each other and swaying slowly. The outside world meant nothing right now. No rules, no doctors, nobody to tell them what to do with their pup. Right now it was just the two of them, and their pup. Whether it’s healthy or not, at least they knew it was here with them right now.

Eventually Eijirou took them over to the nest. Katsuki had stopped crying a while ago, embarrassed at the mere thought of him having a melt down. His alpha left the nest for a moment, tapping away at his phone before putting it up to his ear. Katsuki isn’t sure who he’s calling, and he's too drained to find out. He hoped Eijirou wasn’t disappointed in him. The last thing he’d wanted was to hurt his family.

It wasn’t fair.
