Chapter Text
Before starting college I was gifted a taser. I cackled and it named it Thor. Was it fate or was it my obsession of Mythology that I was determined not to name it Zeus, he was a dick. I didn't think that I would need to use it but threatening to use it against asshole frat boys, ended up being the best protection. As I try to catch my breath and not loose my mind over the last 48 hours, the memory of the first time I used it comes to mind.
After a few months of college, I ended up being known as the chick with the taser. The frat boys were now scared of me and no longer only spoke to the ladies, if you know what I mean. This was a pleasing and a curse. A blessing because I didn't have to deal with them while handling a very heavy course load. A curse because it made me cocky.
One night after studying in the library till 2am, I packed up my laptop and books and walked outside. I normally walked home only with no issues living a few blocks from the library on campus. This such night I was feeling pumped, I finished a complicated essay and pretty sure I aced it. I ignored the gut feeling of being watched, put on my walking home playlist on Ipod and walked my usual route home. At the halfway mark, it was unable to ignore and I subtly paused the music and really focused on my surroundings. Slowed my breathing down and grabbed hold of Thor my taser, prepared to just show it to the boy stalking me, thinking that is all it is.
