Summary:

Fluffy Filler for our Himiko!

Work Text:

Toga Himiko didn’t know kindness. Nor did she know unconditional love. No, all she knew was that she was wrong for being who she was and the crazed rush she got from her quirk was bad.

She was bad.

Himiko had been on the streets for three weeks when she met Dabi. She had run after hurting her friend, her crush, and then being hit by her dad. She hadn’t wanted to hurt anyone…but she was just so thirsty.

Dabi had found her, under the pass covered in dried blood and dirt, living off the birds that dared get too close. Himiko had tried to hide, tried not to cry at the happiness at feeding and the sheer terror of being alone.

Dabi didn’t say anything, but he did pick her up and took her somewhere warm and clean. It was slightly broken, slightly small, but it was also safe. Himiko had a bath, had curled up under so many blankets she wanted to purr and then blinked in shock as the boy handed her a mug of warm blood.

She never did ask why he had that to hand.

Himiko had spent the following weeks between Dabi’s flat, her own hideaway and the local quirk blood bank. Trying to curb the obsession and urge to stab random people. Of course, she didn’t always manage it. But Dabi was often nearby when the cravings got too bad.

At least, before the underground hero started appearing.

Himiko didn’t know how to take it at first, her only friend was distracted and smirking to himself often. The blonde girl leaned on her hand as she thought about it. Dabi was showing clear signs of an obsession of his own, or was it a crush? Did she remember what crushes were lick….no, like?

Dabi had also found some mutant boy who reminded Himiko of Godzilla, a pre quirk thing that often made her smile as she watched the two boys bicker over what they were going to do. The more time she spent with Dabi and Zilla (she couldn’t remember what his actual name was suppose to be…) the less she remembered of her old life.

For once, Himiko could remember being happy.

Izuku popped the last piece of sushi into his mouth as he waited for Kuroro to turn up. Finding Dabi passed out on the floor was interesting, if not bloody nerve-racking, the kid barely seemed to be holding himself together. Izuku sighed and glanced around the small flat, it was good enough for a single guy who had no other connections.

It was then that the door opened again, Izuku turned slightly and came face to face with a petite blonde girl in a school uniform. Now, the first thought Anomaly had was that she was a threat for some unknown reason, the second was a long list of swears as the same girl lunged at him with a bloody kitchen knife!

Izuku would never admit that Toga Himiko had caused him to revert to his father’s training, but she had. Only once he had her pinned to the ground and slightly shaking (was that her shaking or his?) did he realise she was talking.

“Wait, what?” Izuku asked, blinking the fuzziness out of his head.

“How dare you hurt Dabi! That is not nice at all!” came a petulant tone that reminded Izuku of a slightly deranged fan.

“I didn’t hurt him, I’m waiting for someone to help h-” Izuku gave a grunt when the young girl pushed a little too hard and they both rolled into what had probably once been a tea table. Or something similar.

Obogiri found the two at odds a few moments later, Toga hissing like a cat while glaring at the fact the unknown man had disarmed her and Izuku was grumbling about stab-happy teenagers. The urge to turn around and leave so was strong that both Oboro and Kurogiri had to snap out of it.

“Sir?” Kuroro asked slowly, noting the fallen third. “…dare I ask?” the shadow-man whispered to himself.

“Take the bacon to the infirmary and get this crazy…girl or whatever she is, a snack or something.” Izuku huffed, before he sighed and rubbed his face with his free hand, “Please,” he added as a second thought. Himiko seemed surprised, but perked up just like a kitten at the sound of snack.

“Of course, sir,” Obogiri didn’t have to move as the portals opened and he pulled the young girl into the kitchens and leaving Izuku alone.

“I am getting too soft for this….” the villain huffed and looked around, yeah, this apartment wasn’t good enough for his son’s paramour. At least Tenko couldn’t complain about the fact he was invested now….right?

Himiko didn’t exactly feel sorry for jumping the guy who stood over the unconscious Dabi. But she did feel a little bad for trying to murder him. Even more after the shadow person gave her cookies that tasted like the blood Dabi bought her on special occasions! And then Zilla was there, telling her that Dabi was finally getting his health checked and maybe wouldn’t be so cough happy.

The shadow person appeared often, offering snacks and drinks and things to do while they waited for the big boss. Zilla tried to explain that Anomaly, the person who owned everything they were touching (including the shadow man if the butler outfit was to be real) was the big bad boss.

When the green stranger appeared with a slightly embarrassed Dabi, Toga felt herself smile. So the random person was Anomaly? He was a big bad boss?

“Are you our boss now?” she asked and skipped closer, hands behind her back and head tilted just so. The older man seemed to huff a laugh and shrug. He didn’t give off the ultimate evil mastermind. But then again, he was quick and had disarmed her! No one else had done that yet, not even Dabi!

“I mean, not really, but your welcome to stay with Kuroro,” the man patted her head, which gave the young girl a warm tingly feeling in her chest. “He seems to like you kids, and Tenks needs friends that aren’t so…law-abiding?” the man seemed confused for a moment before smirking at her. Tenks was the hero…right?

“Okay! I like having friends!” Himiko giggled and felt that warm feeling grow. The greenette nodded before heading into the room with the still confused Dabi.

No, Himiko didn’t know kindness or unconditional love very well. But Himiko knew as she looked towards Dabi and Zilla and the new Anomaly and Shadow person, that she could very well learn those things.

After all, it wasn’t the family you were born with but the one you chose that really made life worth it. Himiko felt herself grin wide before jumping onto Zilla’s back. Laughter and joy brimmed her entire being.

And maybe later she could meet Tenks and see if Dabi had a crush or obsession for reals!
