Chapter Text
Marcy stood before her bed, multiple different outfits laid out in front of her. A green suitcase opened on the floor next to her.
Her parents had allowed her to fly out to LA to spend the holidays with Sasha and Anne.
She was going to surprise the two. She planned the whole thing with her and Anne's parents.
She was going to fly out three days before Christmas. Anne's parents were going to pick her up at the airport, she was going to stay with the Boonchuy's for a week then fly back to celebrate more with her parents.
It was perfect, Marcy had so many activities all planned out for the three of them, it was going to be perfect, it had to be.
Marcy continued to pack the rest of her clothes packing them nicely and carefully folded in her suitcase. Once she was done she went into her closet and pulled out a duffel bag.
She packed her essentials and her tablet for the plane ride. Her chargers for her phone and said tablet. She packed a few other things before packing two neatly wrapped presents, one with a bright pink bow and the other with a nice blue one.
She smiled as she zipped up the duffel back and plopped it down next to her suitcase.
She grabbed her phone off of her nightstand and lay down on her bed. She was scrolling and looking at random posts when her phone started ringing.
Anne's name popped up on her phone so Marcy answered. "Hey, Anne, what's up?"
"Hey Mars just wanted to check in with you, Sasha's here to buy the way," Anne said.
"Hey Mar-Mar" Sasha's voice came through the phone.
"Oh hey Sash, I'm doing alright, it's still a bit of an adjustment with the move, and of course, I miss you guys"
"Aw, we miss you too" Anne's voice came through the phone.
"Do you guys have any plans for the holidays?" Marcy asked.
"Well I'm bunking with Anne and the Boonchuy's this year because neither of my parents can get along" the was a moment of silence.
"Tomorrow though we are going to go Christmas shopping together for a little bit, it should be fun" Anne broke the silence with a lighter comment.
"That sounds like a lot of fun"
"Yeah, it should be" Anne paused for a moment "don't suppose you're coming back to LA anytime soon?" She asked hesitantly. Marcy was glad that it was just a phone call because she could not conceal her smile.
"Sorry guys I'm stuck here for now"
A sound of disappointment came through the phone from both on the other end.
"Okay then Mars, I guess will have to call you on Christmas then, no way we are spending it without you" Sasha reassured Marcy.
"Sounds like a plan" Marcy replied happily. "Hey, guys do you-"
Marcy was interpreted by an alarm sound from the other side of the phone. "Ah sorry Marce, Sasha and I have to go but we'll call you later?"
"Sure thing, bye guys, talk to you guys soon"
"Bye," they said simultaneously before hanging up the phone. Marcy smiled again before going back to scrolling on her phone.
After a while, Marcy got up because her parents had called her down. Marcy walked over to her parents.
"You ready to go? We have to catch your flight" Marcy's dad asked.
"I thought you said we were leaving tomorrow," Marcy asked.
"Yeah I said we were leaving tomorrow, yesterday"
Marcy pulled out her phone to check the date. Then turned red out of embarrassment, "guess you're right, guess it's a good thing I'm already packed"
Marcy rushed back upstairs and to her room and grabs her suitcase and her duffel bag. Then rushed back down to her father. "Ready to go?" Her dad asked and she happily nodded.
The two walked out to their car. Her dad opened the back of the car and helped Marcy put her suitcase in the back.
The two drove for a bit in silence and about 10 minutes later Marcy's dad spoke up "So you know the rules about this. Remember to stay with the Boonchuy's don't go out past nine and please remember to stay safe okay?"
"I know, I promise to be safe and stay with the Boonchuy's" her dad smiled at her and they went back into silence.
Marcy stared out the window lost in thought. Her dad probably didn't mean it in the way Marcy took it. Marcy took it as don't run away to another world again. Marcy wasn't, she didn't want to anymore, she had accepted the fact that she had moved. She just wanted to spend time with her girls. She had to be perfect, she can't mess anything up.
She hadn't realized that the two had arrived at the airport. Her dad looked at her. "You remember how you get to the gate?"
"Yeah, I know the way" the two got out of the car and opened the back. Marcy's dad got the suitcase out of the back before closing it. Marcy had her duffel in hand.
"I'll see you in a week," Her dad told her as he hugged his daughter.
Marcy hugs back. "See you in a week" she repeated.
"I love you"
"I love you too dad" Marcy grabbed the handle of the suitcase and then rolled it toward the airport entrance but not before giving her dad one last wave.
Marcy walked through the airport and security, left her suitcase at baggage, and eventually got to her gate. She sat outside the gate and pulled out her tablet. She opened a black document where she started a list of things she wanted to do to make everything perfect.
After a while, she heard the boarding was starting. She got up and waited patiently for her turn to board. Once it was she gave her ticket. She grabbed her duffel and put it in the overhead bin and sat in her seat.
The plane soon took off and once Marcy knew it was okay she grabbed her tablet again and started drawing as she flew to LA.
