Work Text:

Anne softly hummed to herself as she sat on her bed, lazily flipping through a magazine. She tilted her head a bit at a sudden sound, as if small rocks were being thrown near her window. She looked towards her clock, 1:35 am. More small sounds, before it changed, now clearly rocks tapping against the glass.
She quickly stood up walking to her window opening it, getting a small pebble to the forehead as a reward. She hissed softly rubbing her forehead as she leaned out the window peering down at the ground. Sasha stood there swaying a bit, dropping the rest of the pebbles out of her hand. She grinned a bit and walked to the wall as Anne left the window and reached under her bed pulling out a rope. It had knots tied in it to make it easier to climb, she tied it to the foot of her bed before throwing the other side down.

After a few minutes of struggling Sasha fell through the window, her face flushed and eyes unfocused. Anne helped her up and cringed, she smelt like alcohol. She grinned as she leaned her head into the crock of Anne’s neck “ngh,,, heyyy Annie” she slumped into her a little more. Anne sighed, running her fingers through her blonde hair slowly leading her to the bed, sitting her down. “You're drunk.” She said simply, staring down at her giggling form.
She rolled her eyes leaning back on her bed laughing “oh chill out I’m n..not drunk I’m just a liiiiiiiiiiitle tipsy”
She groaned, rubbing between her eyes, dealing with a drunk Sasha was not on her night plans. Sasha continued giggling softly to herself laying on her bed, but eventually the giggles turned into a soft broken gasp. Anne looked up at her, eyes widening as she saw the tears making their way down her cheeks. She felt like she couldn’t move, she never knew what to do when Sasha cried.

A broken sob ripped its way from her throat as she moved her hand to cover her face “why isn’t the pain gone Annie?”

Anne quickly sat down beside her rubbing her hand softly, deciding to get mad at her for drinking later. “What pain? Did you hurt yourself? Can I see?” She asked softly, as if she was scared if she was too loud it would hurt her. She shook her head curling into the side of Anne’s leg, whimpering a little. “Mnmmom said that,, that drinking makes the pain go away” she gasped out another sob, burrowing deeper into the side of her leg. “Why isn’t it gone make it go away Annie”
Anne slowly rubbed circles into Sasha's back, her other hand still gripping her shaking hand.
“Please Annie make it go away” she sobbed desperately, clawing at her pant leg. Anne stared down at her as her own eyes burned with tears. She didn’t know what to do. She slowly laid down beside her, wrapping her arms around her back and curling around her a bit. She continued to sob now into her neck, her entire body shaking.

Eventually Sashas sobs stopped, hiding deeper into Anne’s neck. Anne slowly shifted rubbing the back of Sashas head. Her stomach twisted as she quickly pushed Anne away standing up on shaky legs. She sat up quickly “are you okay?” She quickly ran to the bathroom, Anne quickly followed.

She hunched over the toilet gagging, Anne quickly grabbed her hair pulling it back. She rubbed her back and cringed a little as she threw up.
She laid her forehead against the seat, taking shaky breaths. Anne bit her lip going to stand up “I’m going to get my parents.”

Sasha gasped, shaking her head no grabbing her arm, “please don’t tell them” she looked at her with pleading eyes. “I don’t-I don’t want them to be upset with me”
Anne rubbed her back before fully standing up “they can help you.”
Sasha glared into her soul, grabbing her hand tightly to stop her from leaving.

“You won’t tell them. End. Of. Discussion.”

Anne shifted uncomfortably, knowing she really should go get her parents. But instead she sits back down, going back to rubbing soothing circles into her shaking back.

In the morning Sasha smiles while eating breakfast, talking to Anne’s parents as if nothing happened. Anne ate slowly, watching Sasha eat, knowing that they’ll never bring this night up again, despite the sickening feeling in her stomach.
