Chapter Text
It has been seven years since Aonung decided to leave the Metkayina tribe to prove his worth to the clan. He has been out of the reef borders for a long time, hunting akulas and fighting Ash people.
Since the death of all humans on Pandora because of the lack of water sources a new enemy showed up: The Fire tribe.
They tortured every clan with no explanation, hunting Na’vis as if they were not the same species as them.
After the big war with humans, Neteyam and his brother Loak made a decision to stay with the water tribe, to protect and tighten the connection with the Metkayina people while Kiri and Tuk left with the rest of their family and returned to the jungles.
Neteyam had a choice, he could have either left with his family or stayed with Loak and as much as he wanted to go back to the Omatikaya tribe, he realized that the water tribe became his home and so he stayed.
Loak became the new Oloeyktan while Tsireya took the role of Tsahik.
Neteyam could see how much his brother loved his mate, showing affection to her every second he could.
Although he wouldn’t admit it, he was jealous of their connection, after all, they became mates the minute they turned into adults.
Another thing that held Neteyam from leaving the Metkayens was the fact that his brother's mate fell pregnant with their first child.
The older brother became a guardian to the new clan leaders, he fought alongside other warriors and most of all, killed everyone who tried to hurt his family.
After realizing that he won’t be able to mate with anyone, Neteyam decided to dedicate his life to protecting the upcoming leader, who was still only a few weeks old, unaware of the world surrounding him.
He could not let anyone hurt the precious baby, he would do anything to make sure that Tsireya and Loak’s future would be bright.
Neteyam saw how Loak rubbed Tsireya’s small belly, kissing it softly. “I can’t wait to meet you, little one,” I heard him whisper as the Tsahik chuckled, putting her hand on her lover’s.
“Loak, Tsireya,” smiled Neteyam, as he entered their little home, which was located at the back of the village, hiding behind tall trees, with the blue sea under them.
“Neteyam, it is great to see you brother,” spoke Loak as he stood up and went to greet his older brother.
Neteyam returned his welcome before his brother grabbed his hand, pulling the warrior outside and leading him behind the tall palm tree in from of their Marui pod.
“Brother, I called you here for a reason,” spoke Loak, making Neteyam hum in response as he watched the sun in front of them fall into the sea, hiding and welcoming the darkness.
“Aonung is coming back, he sent me a letter, “ whispered the clan leader.
“What?” Schock filled voice rang through the night sky as Neteyam could not believe what he has heard. The boy that he has been avoiding for so long is coming back?
“Ye… he wishes to surprise his sister and asks for me to greet him tomorrow. Sadly, I cannot leave Tsireya alone and I am afraid you will have to do that instead, Nete…” finally whispered Loak as he looked at his brother.
Loak knew that the two men had a complicated relationship. Lots of rumors were spreading about them, around the time Aonung left the tribe. It was said that the leader’s son deeply hurt the former forest Na’vi and judging by how much colder and distant Neteyam became after the former male’s department, no one dared to say otherwise.
Sadly, no one knew the details behind their hate towards each other, making it only harder for Loak to understand his brother’s coldness.
“Okay, I will greet chief Aonung,” spoke Neteyam in a monotone, hand gripping the spear in his hands tighter.
“Thank you, Neteyam,” smiled his younger brother, slightly chuckling at the way the dark Na’vi addressed Aonung. After all, the light male was a chief, not exactly like Loak, but by blood, he still was a part of the leader’s family.
