“Ugh…what happened…”
The person moaned as they slowly regained consciousness in the dark space, which had now become slightly familiar to them.
“Wait, am I..?”
Kaede fell out of the locker once more, more confused than ever, to the same room she had woken up in a few minutes ago.
“Ow. Wait, is this the same classroom from earlier?”
She now had on a bright pink vest, a backpack, new hairpins, and a bump on her forehead from the fall as she remembered the previous event before the flash of light. She had then ran to the gym from a giant robot thing, Shuichi in hand, to a room of people, then some bears from the robots had talked about “Ultimates” and first memories, whatever those ment. And then the blue bear mentioned a “killing game,” which still unnerved the woman, as the bears flashed them in the face and had sent her back to the locker. As she glanced around the same classroom from a while ago, the locker that was next to hers shook open, and out popped a familiar hat-clad boy.
“Woaaah!”
He landed with a thud, and Kaede just gotten more confused as he was also back in his crammed locker they had been in a short while ago.
“Wait, Shuichi, you’re back here too?”
“Ahhh! Get away from me!”
“Jeez, this again? Shuichi, don’t you remember me?”
Shuichi looked on with a confused and frightened look on him as he tried to think of the pink woman who he had never seen before.
“N-no? Sorry, but how do you know my name?”
“We literally just met like 30 minutes ago.” Kaede pouted angrily. “We exchanged names, and then got chased to the gym. How do you not remember the robots?”
“Wait, what robots? What are you talking abo-”
“RISE AND SHINE, URSINE!”
5 multi-colored bear arrived out of thin air, shocking Shuichi, and angering Kaede, as she started complaining to the Monocubs before they could even say a second sentence.
“Why are you back here?! Didn’t you do enough at the gym?”
“Wah! We didn’t even get to introduce ourselves!” The red cub exclaimed.
“Wait, how does this broad know about the gym?” The yellow bear growled.
“I bet it was Monodam’s fault! He probably didn’t correct the light!” Loudly screamed the blue… thing.
“Hey, I was in charge of the lights! Don’t blame poor, sweet Monodam, or me!” The bear in a… bikini said.
“…” Monodam says nothing, but his silence is cut by Shuichi asking a simple question.
“What is happening? Aren’t these stuffed animals or something?”
“We’re not the Monokubs! We’re the stuffed animals!” Says Monokid, to the disappointment of the other Kubs.
“Can you guys just shut up and tell us what’s going on? I don’t care for this whole routine.” Kaede complaints fall on deaf ears, “I don’t care for the ‘Monokubs’ anyway.”
“Wait, you’ve heard of us!?” Exclaimed Monophanie, as she starts to sweat.
“Yeah, you herded us to the gym and shouted off some stupid things about ‘first memories’ and the domain of the k-“ Kaede is cut short by the worried looks exchanged between the kubs.
“Wait, you remember?! Do you remember your talent at all?! Hat boy, do you remember?” Monotaro shouts to the dismay of Kaede and Shuichi.
“Y-yeah? I’m the Ultimate Detective…” The hat boy in question meekly responded.
“Well then, why didn’t it work on Little Miss Pianist here?” Monosuke mockingly asked.
“What? I haven’t even taken piano lessons in a while… what is an Ultimate anyway?”
“Oh! It means that you’re particularly prodigious in a particular talent, like photography and computers!” Monophanie helpfully explains.
“And there are supposed to be sixteen Ultimates here at this school, but you had to balls it up, woman!” Monosuke scolds in return.
“We should leave now, they have to find other people now! Or else the event won’t happen!” Monotaro speaks and tries to drag the other kubs away, all the while ignoring Kaede’s protests saying “So long! Bear-well!”
“Auugh, why can’t I just get a straight answer? And what event?” Kaede frowns, and Shuichi attempts to comfort her.
“Hey come on, lets just search the school, or whatever this place they said it was, and see what we can find. Let’s do introductions again too, as I can’t remember the first time. I am Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective.”
“I guess I am Kaede Akamatsu, plain girl. Come on, let’s see what we will find outside of this room.
