Chapter Text
“-i ying. Wei ying! Wake up, please.” he heard faintly, the voice coming as sputters in his ears.
“Mmmm, L-Lan zhan… is that you?” he said crisply.
“Mn. you’re drunk.” he commented as if it wasn’t obvious. Although it was rare for him to get drunk, his tolerance was extremely high.
“Can you walk? I’m going to pull you up.” he asks politely, treating the boy like glass. Gentle. He is always so gentle. Even if Wuxian hurts him mentally or physically. He knows he doesn’t mean to make him upset.
“Why are you here? I’m sorry. I don't mean to burden you. Did I call you? I should’ve called Jiang Cheng… I'm sorry.” he said quietly in a rush.
“You have nothing to be sorry about, Wei Ying. I'm here for you and I want to make sure you are safe and okay.” he said reassuringly. He started to pull him up from the sharp woodchips of the playground he was at. Oh, he’s very light. His hair’s a mess and his face is stained with mysterious blotches. Tears, mud, blood? Maybe all of them. Just what had happened at the house?
“Ow, ow OW!” he groaned while being removed from the ground. His body aches so much. Back, hands, ribs, perhaps everything.
The tall body flinched as he heard him.
“W-Wei Ying?... Are you okay? Did someone hurt you… again?” he choked.
