Chapter Text

Wally Darling sat alone in the empty room, surrounded by silence. As he spoke, his eyes darted about the room, his voice slightly manic as he addressed a "neighbor."

"Hello there, neighbor," he said, his voice slightly excited. "We haven't talked in a long time. I've been missing you for years. Home missed you, too."

He paused for a moment, as if listening for a response. "Yes, I'm glad to have you back," He continued, his voice growing more animated, "And I can't wait to see what we'll get up to. You and the others, we'll have so much fun together."

Wally grinned to himself, his eyes glittering with anticipation. "You know, neighbor, I've been anxiously awaiting this moment for a long time. I always knew you'd come back to me, and now you have."

There was a long moment of silence, and Wally's smile faded. "I know you're here," he whispered. "I can feel you, and I know you're watching me," He stared into the empty room, his eyes glowing with an eerie intensity.

He leaned forward, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've been watching you too, you know. Watching you from a distance, waiting for the right moment to bring you back to me."

Wally's eyes flicked around the room once more, as if he were expecting someone to appear at any moment. "But now that you're here, I can't wait to see what we'll do together. The things we'll create, the adventures we'll have."

He chuckled to himself, making a low, eerie sound. "It's going to be just the most, don't you think, neighbor?"

Wally's eyes remained fixed on an empty point in the room, his grin fading slightly as he shook his head, as if trying to clear his thoughts.

"But... You'll be here soon, won't you, neighbor?" he asked hesitantly, as if seeking reassurance. "I mean, you said you'd come back. You promised."

Wally's eyes darted around the room again, scanning for signs of life. "I just can't wait to show you all the things I've been working on," he continued, his voice growing more animated. "The things we'll create together, the fun we'll have."

".....Neighbor," he said again, his voice sounding more frantic now, "Why won't you answer me? Are you upset with me? Have I done something wrong?"

Wally's face contorted into a mask of anguish as he waited for a response, When none came, he let out a guttural cry of frustration and banged his fists on the table. "Why won't you talk to me? Didn't you care about me? Didn't you love me? Didn't you miss our time together, all the FUN WE HAD?!"

Wally's grin returned, wider and more sinister than before. "No, no. You're going to stay with me, with us, this time. We're going to have so much fun together. Just you wait and see, neighbor."

He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. "But... You'd better not try to leave again. That wouldn't be very neighborly, now would it?"

He stood up suddenly, his eyes shining with excitement. "I've got big plans, neighbor. Really big plans. And you're all going to love it. I just know it."

Wally began to pace back and forth, his thoughts racing. "I've been waiting for this moment for so long, and now it's finally here. The gang will be back together again."

Wally fell silent, his eyes fixed on a point in the distance. For a brief moment, the room was still and quiet. And then, as if on cue, Wally turned his head slowly towards you, a grin spreading across his face. "Ah, there you are," he said, addressing you directly for the first time, "I finally see you, neighbor….”
