As Vanitas, Noe, Jeanne and Dominique face head on with Naenia, they don't know what to do now since they tried everything to fight Naenia but none worked.
Tired and hurt, everyone tries to think quickly as they can as the malnomen grows stronger and stronger.
It's been days since the malnomen hunting is over, which caused Luna's mark on Vanitas' arm grew bigger and now spreads half of his body.
The malnomen hunting happened after Charlatan spreaded the malnomen to many vampires, and these malnomen weren't the common ones they see. Every curse-bearer, every malnomen they find during the hunt is difficult to cure, which is why Vanitas had used the book to the extreme and Luna's mark many times.
"Stupid Malnomen...You'll pay for everything you've done!" Vanitas screamed at it while his legs were slightly trembling
"Fufufu...I see you've worked so hard on curing every vampire you find, but this will never end." Naenia gleefully tells them. Dominique and Jeanne tried to go near her but with no luck and tired state, Naenia threw them against the wall as if they were light as feathers.
"Domi! Jeanne!" Noe then runs to Naenia to give a punch with his strength, but the punch had no effect on her, after that she brutally pushes Noe away.
"You're now alone, human. All of your friends are now laying down on the ground. How sad...How weak." Naenia tries to taunt Vanitas and continued; "What are you going to do now?"
"This is the last malnomen here in Paris. If there's a way to cure it...How..What am I going to do?!" Vanitas panicks and tries to think of a solution, but failed. He suddenly remembers his half marked body, checking the blue mark once again on his arm.
"Human heir to blue, the most beautiful creature in this world."
Vanitas suddenly remember the Shapeless One's words, it was haunting to him of course, but he thinks if he did the thing, will it be able to stop all malnomen? Will it be able to stop Charlatan and Naenia?
"Knowing how Luna died or not, I will use the power of the book with the mark once again." Vanitas continued, "Even if I failed to erase your existence and consign them to oblivion, I will still never forgive you Luna."
Vanitas starts using the book with full power, he then recites Naenia's malnomen, "Naenia, she who harbors death." As the book's power reaches the malnomen, it caused Naenia to be tied together and screams in pain.
Vanitas continues the book's full power onto Naenia, and feels Luna's mark growing more on his body then he starts to feel pain. The mark spreads further and further, causing his skin to become pale with a tint of blue, his hair becoming dark blue with few streaks of white and his eyes becomes the most blue of all color blues. This means he is now rewritting himself, turning into something inhuman. He felt extreme pain and something sharp in his teeth but suddenly, he felt nothing.
The book's power worked, which cures Naenia and having all the malnomen gone, because of that, she returned back to her original form; the queen. All the while laying unconscious .
Noe, Domi and Jeanne stood up after they regained their strength and energy. They felt that the fight was over and they all rushed to see Vanitas.
"Vanitas! Where are you Vanitas?!" Noe yelled to look for his companion but Dominique pointed out, "There he is!"
All of them ran towards to him but they stopped and looked in shock. Jeanne covers her mouth in horror and sadness while Domi checks if this is real. Noe stood in fear, as Vanitas suddenly moves his head towards him, Noe doesn't see the usually quick tempered human companion he knows in his eyes.
All he sees is a dreadful looking Vanitas who had just lost his humanity. The different hair color, the pale skin with blue marks and the scarily vibrant and soulless blue eyes, which are more blue than before. When his mouth opened, Noe saw fangs in his teeth.
The transformed Vanitas suddenly attacks Noe and is acting so ferociously and starts craving for blood. Noe uses everything he has to block the attacks.
Noe realized his friend had become a vampire.
He screams and yells out to Vanitas to let the human come back, but to no avail, it didn't work. While he holds Vanitas back, he saw the grimoire with no more power, looking like a normal book.
He keeps on calling out to his friend, but his strength grows stronger, weakening Noe, Jeanne and Dominique arrived at the scene to help fight Vanitas and save him. As they fought with the blue vampire, the vampire holds Noe's body, and quickly bits his neck, giving him pain. But Noe overcomes the bite and then throws his friend to the ground.
"Vanitas, I know you're in there! I know you're stronger than this! Please come back! What about your goal to cure all vampires?! What about your goal on Luna?!" As Noe keeps calling him out, Vanitas wrenches and screams, then Jeanne and Dominique use their powers on him, thinking this will work to stop Vanitas.
As he keeps holding on the blue vampire, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his body, then his right arm suddenly moves swiftly with an increased strength, he can't control his own arm, "Ruthven's command..?" He remembers. The strengthen arm then gives its final strength and pierces through the heart of Vanitas.
Noe just looked on in horror, after his controled arm removes the heart from Vanitas' body, the blue vampire drops dead.
Noe screams in agony and in tears, while both Jeanne and Dominique both looked away, crying.
The human they called Vanitas is no more for he has lost his humanity as a sacrifice to defeat Charlatan and to cure every living vampire.
