Work Text:
Two pairs of little feet run across the street. They are chased by three men who wanted to catch them when they separated from their mother.
The girl who was dragging the boy suddenly turned into an alley. She turned to see the men scurrying down the alley. Before she could turn around to look at the road, she bumped into someone, sending her and the boy to the ground.
She looked up to see the masked man crouched down to her level.
"Are you all right? Watch where you walk!" Said the masked man.
The children flinched slightly at the two so different voices.
The rest of the group the man was with turned to them.
A teenage girl with blonde hair and yellow cat eyes approached them. "Don't be afraid of Jin. Just always listen to that kinder voice."
Jin and the girl helped the child up when they noticed the men who were chasing the two, hid the children behind them.
The scarred man came closer, and a man with blue hair and red eyes walked beside him.
"What do you want?" The blue haired boy asked, scratching his neck.
"We don't want no trouble man. Just give us the kids back." One of the traders said.
"You've been in trouble since you started chasing kids for fun." Said the man with the scars.
A green lizard and a large woman with sunglasses came closer to the group next to them was a man in a mask.
"Just give the kids back." One of the kidnappers said, starting to lose patience.
"Dabi, do it." The blue-haired man said with a menacing smile.
The League was glad to see the fear on the traders' faces when they finally recognized them.
Dabi ignited a blue flame and started shooting at the kidnappers, who quickly ran away from the alley, not wanting to die.
The two children looked at their saviors.
The girl turned to the league. "I'm Hikari and this is my twin brother Hinata. Thanks for your help."
"Thank you too." The boy said timidly looking at them from behind his bangs.
The league looked at the two children. They were about three years old. They both had blonde hair and green eyes. They had freckles on their faces. They didn't know, but those two reminded them of someone. They just couldn't place it.
"I'm Magne. The man you ran into is Twice or just Jin. The girl next to him is Himiko. The scarred man is Dabi and next to him is Tomura. The green lizard is Spinner. And the man in the mask is Compress." A woman introduced everyone.
"What are you kids doing here? Where's your parent?" Dabi asked, hoping it wasn't some abandoned children.
"Mom was shopping at the market, and we accidentally separated from her." Hikari said.
"Then these men found us." Hinata said without looking anyone in the eye.
Tomura scratched his neck, narrowing his eyes. "Aren't you afraid of us? We're villains, after all?"
Others in the league now looked curiously at the children.
"Mom told us that not all villains are bad. You have proven that you won't hurt us." Hikari said bravely, and her twin nodded in agreement.
"How does your mother know about this?" Spinner asked.
"Mom used to say that if she hadn't found out she was pregnant with us, she would have become a villain herself." Hinata said keeping eye contact for the first time.
This interested the villains. Someone who would have become a villain, but didn't because he was going to have children. They were about to ask who their mother was until they heard a screaming voice.
The green-haired teenager ran up to the two children and hugged them. "Hikari, Hinata. Are you okay?"
"Yes mom. We accidentally got separated from you while you were shopping and some bad guys started chasing us." Said the girl hugging her mother.
"The group behind us helped us." The boy explained, also holding his mother tightly.
When the league finally saw the face of the mother of these twins, froze. In front of them stood Midoriya Izuku student hero.
Midoriya looked surprised when he saw the league, but only smiled and stood up. He bowed. "Thank you for helping my children."
Everyone in the league watched in shock when the hero in training didn't attack them.
"Mom, you were right. Not all villains are bad." Hikari said jumping up. Hinata was also nodding excitedly.
"I know. I'm glad you think so too." Izuku said smiling at his children.
The rest of the league still stared in shock. They did not expect this from a heroic student. Although the kids said he might have been a villain if it wasn't for them. But they didn't know why. The kid seemed to have some sort of agility or analytical quirk. Or maybe it wasn't his quirk?
Izuku looked at the league. They looked exhausted and hungry. He wonders when they last had a place to stay. He looked at his two children, who were also shooting worried looks at the group. Then Izuku made a decision.
"Could I thank you for saving my children?" Izuku asked as the league turned its attention to him. "You can dine with us. I'll also give you some new clothes and let you shower at my apartment. What do you say?"
The League stared at Midoriya in shock. They couldn't believe what they were hearing. The League looked to their boss to know what they should do.
"Why are you making us this offer?" Shigaraki asked, scratching his neck. He stopped when someone tugged at his clothes. He saw Hinata looking at him with sad eyes.
"Please don't hurt yourself." Said boy.
Izuku smiled gently and pointed to his two children. "My kids liked you guys. They'd be upset if I just let you go. It's obvious you haven't eaten in a long time. At least stay the night."
Shigaraki looked at the rest of his team. The heroine's brat was right, and Tomura had to think about his team. Besides, the boy didn't look like he had any bad intentions and he didn't take risks like that around his kids. He turned to Midoriya and replied. "We will accept the offer."
Izuku smiled at them and picked Hinata up when he saw how tired he was. Hikari, on the other hand, walked next to him, holding his hand.
"We'll go through the alleys so no one sees you. I know the area so it won't be a problem." Midoriya explained.
After 20 minutes, they arrived at an old apartment complex. They climbed the stairs and Izuku opened the door for them, letting them inside.
"Make yourself comfortable. I'll bring you a change of clothes and towels. While you're in the shower, I'll make dinner." Midoriya explained as he walked inside the apartment.
Hikari started to drag Himiko and Jin to the couch. "Come on. Mom will bring you everything soon."
Hinata walked beside Tomura holding him by the pants.
Everyone in the league was seated in the living room.
Compress looked around. "Do you live here with anyone else?"
"No. Just us and mom." Hinata replied calmly.
The League wondered where Izuku's parents were. After all, he's 16, which means he's still a minor.
Izuku went downstairs. He put some towels and clothes on the table. "These are clothes that should suit you. The bathroom is down the hall and the last door on the left. I'm going to go make dinner now."
Himiko walked over to the pile of clothes and picked up a T-shirt with a skirt. She grabbed a towel and ran to the bathroom.
Everyone watched as he left.
"Seems to answer the question of who takes the bathroom first." Compress said. Others laughed.
After everyone took a bath, Izuku started setting the table. Everyone sat down and started eating.
"It's good Izuku." She praised Himiko.
"Thanks. I studied from an early age." Izuku said.
The League noticed his sad tone as he said this. But they tried not to interfere.
The children ate the fastest, so they went to the couch to watch something. When everyone had finished eating, they saw that the twins had fallen asleep. Izuku smiled at them and picked them up, carrying them to their room.
When he returned, he noticed the league staring at him. "You probably have some questions. I'll try to answer them all."
"Your children said that if you didn't have them, you'd become a villain." Magne said watching the green-haired man.
"Not many people know, but I don't have quirk. I wouldn't get any work. When I found out I was pregnant, I had to come up with something more legal." Izuku explained.
The league was shocked to learn that the teenager in front of them had no quirks. Everyone knew the statistics. So that the teenager before them was alive was a miracle.
"Yeah, aren't you a man? Then why do they call you mom?" Spinner asked. They all gave him a look at such an insensitive question.
Izuku just laughed. "Actually, I gave birth to them. I'm intersex. I don't mind none pronouns."
Everyone looked at him shocked. This was supris
"What about your parents?" Dabi asked.
"I never met my father. My mother started ignoring me when I didn't get my quirk. She disappeared from my life when I was 10." Midoriya said.
The league was angry with the teenager's parents. Now they understood why he cooked so well. He was a much better parent than his parents.
"Who is the father of your children?" Shigaraki asked.
"He was once my friend. Then he became a tyrant. Their father is someone who will never know about them." Midoriya replied coldly.
Everyone came to the conclusion that he must have been raped. They hope to find out who the sperm donor is so they can dispose of it. After all, it is known that no one will believe a quirkless child. Which means he's still at large.
"How do you make a living? I don't care." Twice asked.
"I'm an analyst. I sometimes help the police with their cases and I get paid for it. I only do it online, of course." Izuku replied politely ignoring the second voice.
Before they could ask another question, they were interrupted by a soft voice.
"Mom?" They all turned to the child who entered. It was Hinata.
"What is it Hinata?" Izuku asked as he approached his son.
"You said to remind you to find a new babysitter." Said the child.
"Yeah. Unfortunately, I've already tried to find someone, but I didn't trust any of them." Midoriya said putting his son to sleep.
"What happened to your previous one?" Himiko asked out of curiosity.
"She moved." Izuku looked at the league and then a crazy idea came to him. "I have to go to school tomorrow. Could you take care of them? As long as you look after them, you can stay here."
The League stared at him in shock.
"Will they look after us?" Hinata asked sleepily.
"If they want it." Izuku replied.
"Remember we're villains?" Shigaraki asked.
"Of course, but you haven't harmed my children so far." Izuku replied smiling at them.
"We can do it boss. At least we can stay here for a while." Dabi said.
"What about your neighbors? Don't they recognize us?" Spinner asked.
"Even if they do, they won't do anything. They know I sometimes help some homeless people. And they know I'm quirkless. They wouldn't call the police because they know they'd call me a villain right away. My neighbors are nice and they don't care like a villain, a vigilante, or a hero."
"Okay. We'll stay and take care of them." Shigaraki replied after looking at the others to see if they also agreed.
Izuku smiled. "Thank you. I'll go put Hinata to bed and tell you where you'll sleep."
The League just nodded as Izuku started to leave.
"I didn't expect to get a job while helping two kids." Dabi said.
"I don't mind. These two are cute." Magne said looking at the pictures hanging on the walls.
"Izuku took care of the twins alone all this time. None of his friends are in any of the photos with the children." Toga said looking sadly at the pictures.
"The little hero must have been very lonely." Compress said.
"He must have some serious trust issues. Trust no one." Twice said.
Others turned to him.
"What do you mean Twice?" Asked Tomura.
"His UA friends don't seem to know about his kids. They're bad friends." Twice explained.
"He is right." Spinner said. Everyone was silent when Izuku entered.
"Okay. I have two futons, a large bed, a small bed, and a couch for two. I would split you two up like this. Himiko and Magne can sleep on the large bed in my mom's old room. In my room, I have two futons and there is a small bed. So I think that you can handle Twice, Compress and Spinner there. Dabi and Shigaraki can sleep on the couch."
Everyone nodded their agreement with this arrangement.
"Where are you going to sleep kid?" Magne asked.
"Oh. In my kids' room. There's a reclining chair that I sometimes sleep in when the twins have nightmares." Izuku replied.
Izuku left Dabi and Shigaraki in the living room and led the rest to their rooms. He opened the first door revealing his room.
"This is where the three of you will sleep. It's not a big room, but it's enough for the night."
"Thank you." Thanked Compress as the other two entered the bedroom.
"No problem." Izuku replied. He went to the next door. "This is for you Magne, Himiko. You can look for some of my mom's old clothes if you need it."
"Thanks Izuku." Himiko said rushing into the room.
Magne said nothing but ruffled his hair.
Izuku smiled and went back to the living room. Seeing how Dabi and Tomura had prepared their sleeping place, he headed to the kitchen to get some water. After drinking, Izuku came back to see the two league members sleeping. They probably didn't have much time to sleep. Midoriya started to consider going to sleep, but somehow he felt that this night would not be good for him. He returned to the kitchen, pulling out his laptop and starting to do some analysis for the police.
Around 2am Izuku was still working on his laptop. Scattered around the table were various documents and small analysis.
"Why don't you slpeeing?"
Izuku jumped hearing the voice. He turned around and saw Shigaraki. "It's nothing. I just felt tonight wasn't going to be kind to me."
"Hmm. I understand." Tomura said as he approached the kettle and poured himself some water. "What are you up to?"
"I'm working on some analysis. If I can't sleep, at least I'll do a job. After all, I have to earn some money." Izuku explained.
The two sat in confrontational silence. Shigaraki glanced at some analysis. This kid is smart. If he weren't quirkless, he could have found a really good job.
"Why didn't you tell us who the person who raped you was?" Asked Tomura.
Izuku paused while typing for a second then continued. "Honestly. I don't know. Maybe I'm just used to people not believing me. Maybe it's because I still care about him even after what he did to me. Or maybe because I feel like he deserves more than death. Who knows?"
Tomura looked at the teenager. He didn't lie that he didn't know. Sometimes it's hard to choose what to do with someone who has hurt you. "I promise I won't kill him until you decide."
Izuku looked at him. "That doesn't mean you can't hurt him."
Tomura was surprised that the brat discovered his special choice of words. He was about to say something else when Izuku cut him off.
"Bakugou Katuski. Once my childhood friend turned tyrant and even villain." Izuku replied, going back to work, giving Tomura time to think things over.
Tomura looked shocked. He didn't expect to get an answer. Besides, Bakugou Katuski is a student who was kidnapped by the league. Which means the green-haired man is still threatened by his tormentor, and these stupid heroes don't see it. Suddenly the glass he was holding turned to dust.
"The heroes really didn't notice?" Shigaraki asked.
"No. They see us as rivals. I don't even know where they got that idea from." Izuku replied stopping his work, unable to focus on it anymore.
"Idiots." Shigaraki muttered.
"True." Izuku replied, getting up from the table and collecting all the important documents. "I guess I should go to sleep."
Shigaraki nodded his agreement. They both left the kitchen. Tomura walked towards the couch where Dabi was still sound asleep.
"Good night Shigaraki." Midoriya said as he walked past him.
Tomura stared for a moment before speaking. "Tomura."
Izuku stopped and looked at the blue haired boy.
"Call me Tomura." He repeated.
Midoriya smiled. "Then call me Izuku, Tomura."
Shigaraki turned and went to the couch. "Goodnight Izuku."
Hikari woke up earlier than normal. She saw her mother sleeping. She sneaked into Izuku's phone. She checked the time and there was still half an hour before he had to get up. She sneaked up to Hinata and woke him up.
"Hikari. What do you want?" Sleepy boy asked.
Hikari silenced the boy. "Mom isn't up yet. I decided we'll make her breakfast. What do you think?"
Hinata got up and began to wake up. "Let's do it. He's definitely stressed out after yesterday."
The two children crept to the locked door and opened it. They gently closed the door behind them. They both went into the kitchen and started checking the fridge.
"What should we do?" Hinata asked.
"I don't know." Hikari said.
They both discussed, not noticing the figure that was approaching them in the doorway. Suddenly the figure crouched down. "What are you doing here so early?"
Both children jumped and quickly covered each other's mouths so as not to make any noise. They looked at each other then at their hands and took them quickly.
The man laughed. "So what are you up to?"
Both children looked at the man they recognized as Dabi.
"We wanted to make breakfast for Mom." Hikari said.
"She must be very stressed after yesterday." Hinata said.
Dabi looked at the two children. "Do you even know how to cook?" When the two children stopped looking at each other, he had his answer. Dabi sighed. "I can help you."
The twins looked at him hopefully. "Really?" They asked together.
Dabi stood up and looked at the children. "Yes. We're going to make omelettes something easy and I can teach you how to do it. Although I'd rather you do it under adult supervision. Okay?"
Hikari and Hinata then looked at each other at Dabi and nodded.
Dabi started collecting the ingredients and instructing them what to do. While cooking, Himiko came downstairs.
"What are you doing?" Toga asked excitedly.
Dabi narrowed his eyes at Himiko and grunted. "How can you be so cheerful in the morning."
Everyone ignored Dabi's complaints.
"We're making a surprise breakfast for mom." Hikari replied.
"That's nice of you." Himiko said as she joined in the cooking.
Compress and Magne came down next, watching the four working fondly.
The spinner, who had barely woken up, joined Tomura on the couch where the other was sitting under the covers and playing on the console he found under the table.
Twice was the last to get up, bumping into Izuku in the corridor.
"Hello Twice." Izuku smiled kindly.
"Hello kid. Goodnight." Jin replied.
As they both entered the table, they were met by the sight of a covered table. Izuku looked confusedly at the set table. He turned to the two who suddenly ran up to him.
"Come on mom, we've prepared breakfast for you before you go to school." Hikari said. Hinata pulled out a chair and they sat Izuku there.
"Breakfast?" Midoriya asked as his two children ran off.
Compress, who sat next to him, took pity on him. "Dabi helped them do that when he discovered they were lurking in the kitchen."
Izuku breathed a sigh of relief at this news. Dabi and Himiko emerged from the kitchen with the twins. Everyone in the league joined the table.
Izuku tried food and couldn't help but be amazed. "This is really good. Thank you Hikari, Hinata." The two children smiled at him. "You too, Dabi, Himiko." Dabi nodded and Toga smiled showing her teeth.
After finishing breakfast, Izuku went to get ready for school.
"Will you be okay?" Midoriya asked looking at the league.
"Yeah don't worry. We're all going to die for sure." Twice said with a thumbs up.
Izuku chuckled. "I understand. My phone number is on the fridge if you need to contact me."
"We understand honey. Now go away or you'll be late for school." Magne said, handing the backpack to the green-haired man.
Izuku looked at the time and quickened his pace. He took the bag from Magne and hugged the twins. "See you later." He said goodbye and left.
The league looked at the twins.
"So what do you want to do?" Spinner asked.
Hinata looked at Tomura, who was still focused on his game, and walked over to him. He sat down next to him and watched him play. Shigaraki lowered the controller to give him better access.
"Looks like they've already taken care of something." Compress said looking incredulously at the two.
"Aren't you afraid your brother will become NEET sitting with Tomura?" Dabi asked looking with a smirk as he saw Shigaraki's annoyance.
Hikari looked at the man curiously. "What is a NEET?"
Toga approached Hikari and took her in her arms. "Ignore him Hikari. He always talks nonsense."
The girl nodded seriously, taking Himiko's words to herself.
"How about we play with your hair? I could show you how to braid your hair nicely. Other than a ponytail or a braid. Big Sis Mag can help us." Toga said.
"Okay. Mom can't braid her hair any other way. Even though he tried, he has some scars on his hands and they're too numb." Hikari said excitedly.
"Scars on the hands?" Compress asked slightly worried.
Hikari nodded and said sadly. "Yes. Apparently he got them when he was still in middle school."
Everyone quickly changed the subject. They didn't want the girl to start crying.
"Do you have any hair clips and ties?" Magne asked.
"Yes. I keep them all in my room. We can go there and hang out." Hikari said excitedly.
"Yes. We're going to have a girls' get-together. So you guys are not allowed in." She threatened Himiko and they both went to the room. Magne went to the kitchen to get some snacks.
The boys didn't even try to follow them. Women can be scary. And Himiko has knives. None of them are stupid enough to bother them.
Spinner walked over to Hinata. "Kid, do you have any console games for the TV?"
Hinara looked at him and thought. "We can play Mario Kart. We have four controllers at home. Could that be this?"
Tomura paused the game and looked at the other two. "Let's play Mario Kart."
The three of them prepared the console and started to turn on the game.
Hinata looked at Dabi, who was looking at them with amusement. He walked over to the elder who looked at him. "Will you play with us?"
Dabi looked at him, then at the other two, and sighed. "Why not?"
They both sat down and took their controllers.
Compress, along with Twice, watched with amusement.
"Why don't we have tea together?" Compress asked.
"With pleasure. No way." Twice said. They both started walking to the kitchen.
"You have really nice hair honey." Magne said while combing Hikari's hair.
"Thank you. Mom always tried to keep them soft and easy to comb." Answered the girl.
"So he did pretty well." Himiko said while eating a cookie that Magne had brought.
"Himiko is right. He's so young and he's really good with you." Magne said.
"It used to be harder. When mum was in the last year of gymnasium it was hard. She had to train, study and work. Between these things she had to take care of us. Back then mum was really skinny because she either forgot to eat or we didn't have enough money. Fortunately now it's better " Hikari said.
Both girls frowned.
"You remember it quite well." Magne said.
"That's because Hinata and I inherited good memory from mom. We remember quite a lot of our mother's struggles. Although Hinata has a better memory than me. He even remembers from when we were a few months old." Hikari explained.
"No wonder you're both so smart. I wasn't sure, but I thought you two were a lot smarter for your age." Himiko said after thinking about it.
"Hinata may be quiet, but he has mom's personality. Mom has repeatedly said that Hinata looks like her when he was little." Hikari said.
"I see. So you're more like your other parent." Magne said.
"Don't say that in front of our mom. We both know she's very afraid of our father. Fortunately, most of us are like our mom. We know that our mom won't tell us what our father did to her until we're older, but that doesn't mean we don't want to know anymore " Hikari said.
"How about we change the subject?" Magne asked.
Hikari looked at the reassuring smile and returned it. "Okay."
"Do you know who your father is?" Shigaraki asked during the game. The others looked at him in disbelief that he was asking this child.
"I know. Mom hid all the pictures of her family and childhood friend under her bed. Maybe he never told us anything about him, but as soon as I saw the pictures I could tell it was our father. Mom told you who he is, didn't she?" Hinata replied not noticing the disbelieving looks of the rest of the men.
"Yes. He worked in the kitchen. That's when he told me. You don't look like your father at all. Neither of you." Tomura said.
"Have you met him?" Hinata asked, looking curiously at the blue-haired boy.
"You can tell. It wasn't a pleasant meeting. But when I look at you both you just look like Izuku." Saigaraki said.
Hinata sighed with relief. "That's good. Mom has suffered a lot since we were born. I know she often has nightmares about our father. It's a relief that we don't look like him."
"Wait, then who is their father? It's obvious." Twice asked.
"Mom's picture says Bakugou Katsuki. I know mom misses him, no he misses what they had before the quirks came." Hinata said.
Dabi suddenly wished he'd killed the angry kid when he had the chance.
A few hours later, the girls left the room. Hikari ran to her brother.
"Hinata, look how nicely they braided my hair." She called her twin.
Hinata looked at Hikari. "You look nice. I'm sure Mom will like it too."
"You think so?" Hikari asked as she turned into the dress she had put on to match her updo.
"Yes. I'm sure." Hinata said smiling at his sister.
Dabi looked at the time and saw that it was already 13. "Are you hungry? I can do something."
The two children looked at the adult.
"Actually, I'd eat something." Hikari said. Hinata agreed with her.
"Okay. What time is your mom coming back?" Dabi asked.
"She should be around 3pm today if I remember correctly. Unless she's going shopping, it's 4pm." Hinata said.
"Okay, I'll leave some food for him while I make some for us. Is curry okay with you?" Dabi asked as he started heading towards the kitchen.
"I like curry." Hikari said and Hinata agreed with her.
"How about we play a movie while Dabi is cooking dinner?" Compress asked.
After everyone agreed, they all sat down in front of the TV.
Izuku was just leaving the mall where he bought some clothes for the league. He was tired after today. All Might again treated him like he couldn't do anything.
Sometimes he wishes Tomura had been able to kill that damn buffoon.
He opened the apartment door. He immediately heard the patter of little feet.
"Mom!" Two of his children screamed.
Izuku put down the bags and hugged his children. When they parted, he couldn't stop staring at his daughter. She was wearing a light green short-sleeved dress, but that wasn't what caught his attention. It was her hair that was pinned up like he had never seen before. She had a similar hairstyle to Himiko. Only that some of the hair was loose at the back.
"You look beautiful Hikari." Izuku said.
Hikari started jumping up and down. "Really?"
"Yes." Izuku said picking up the bags and heading to the living room.
"Welcome back Izuku." Himiko said.
"I'm home. Thank you for looking after the twins. There are some clothes in these bags for you. I've choose them to fit you." Midoriya said.
"Thank you, but you didn't have to." Compress said.
"You're welcome. Take it as payment." Izuku said taking off his jacket.
"There's curry in the kitchen for you." Dabi said.
"Thank you." Izuku called.
As Midoriya started eating, the league was trying on new clothes that they liked very much. They matched their styles perfectly.
Izuku finished eating and entered the living room. "How was today?"
"Your children are quite well behaved." Compress said.
"That's true. There were no problems with them." Magne said.
"I'm glad. Did they sleep at all?" Izuku asked out of curiosity.
"No." Himiko shook her head.
"I see. Aren't you sleepy yet?" Izuku asked the twins.
"No, Mum." Hikari said. Hinata shook his head.
"Then come and help me with something in the kitchen. We'll be right back to you." Said Izuku looking at the league and heading to the kitchen.
League sat in the living room resting after a long day. The twins may have been good, but that doesn't mean they're not tired.
Everyone was sitting and talking when the three of them entered. Izuku had a tray of ice cream desserts which he placed on the table. "This is for you guys. I hope you enjoy it."
The league looked at each other, then they rushed to dessert. Izuku chuckled under his breath.
"You still don't mind if we stay here for a while?" Shigaraki asked as he appeared next to Izuku eating his ice cream.
"No. Besides, Hikari and Hinata are happy. I wouldn't mind if you stayed here even for years." Midoriya said.
"You are a strange hero." Tomura said, but there was no irritation in it.
"Thanks. That's one of my best qualities." Izuku smiled brightly.
The rest of the day was spent teasing each other, eating snacks, and watching movies.
Izuku never regretted taking them home with him.
