Work Text:
The town of Home; the wonderful colorful home of the puppet characters that made up the once extremely popular and yet now mostly forgotten kids TV series Welcome Home by Playfellow Workshop. Almost 50 years had gone by ever since an episode was last aired with the knowledge faded from people's minds; evidence of the show's existence disappearing and lack of footage of the show being able to find.
However after all this time Wally had found a way to reach out to the realm of the people; where their show had broadcasted to the children who acted as honorary 'neighbours' and friends to them all. Wally finding evidence of their show and sending them out to people who were forming the Welcome Home Restoration Team and documenting what they found on their website. Which they could help influence by reaching out.
All thanks to the vast power that Wally's house Home (which funny enough shared the name with their little town) held.
"Think of this everyone." Wally smiled to all of his friends as they had gathered together to look at the fruits of their labour inside Home. "Soon we will be able to reach to the outside world; entertain children again who can join us as our new neighbours." Wally stated with a big smile on his face; remembering all the time that he spent painting with his young friends watching and it was rather sad to think that the children would have grown up and those that still lived would not have much memories of them.
"Are you sure that this is a good idea Wally?" asked Poppy Partridge looking worried, concerned and cautious as she usually is.
"Come on Poppy; don't you want to be remembered by the world again?" Howdy Pillar asked her putting one of his many hands on her shoulders.
"Off course I do but what Home is doing... It won't hurt any of them... Will it... What we are doing... If it hurts them or brainwashes them... Would it be worth it..." Poppy pointed out.
"I promise you that we are just reaching out to people and driving all those lost memories back up. No one is getting hurt." Wally assured the mother figure of the little town.
"Yeah; we don't want to hurt them! We just want everyone to remember that we exist and all the games that we played! We could even have a new audience of children to play games with! That's a possibility; isn't it Wally?" Julie Joyful said and then looked to Wally with an eager smile and she jumped for joy as he nodded.
"Indeed; with the attention it's getting... There could be people that would want to get the rights to bring our show back... Would be hard for them with what happened to Playfellow Workshop but I am confident that a revival or reboot of our show could be very possible as reboots are quite popular in the other world." Wally said and that got them more interested and excited.
"Means more audience for my jokes!" smiled Barnaby Beagle.
"I get to have a high audience for my plays again!" Sally Starlet smiled feeling the excitement build up inside her and make her want to make a big scene of it.
"Plus Eddie, Frank... A reboot would mean that you two would not have to hide your marriage anymore due to how times have changed. No more just hinting at it." Wally told Frank Frankly and Eddie Dear that had the clumsy mailman hug his husband excitedly.
"That does sound quite splendid." Frank said looking quite sophisticated and Julie then hugged Frank her best friend feeling happy for them.
"Don't worry everyone; no one will be getting hurt and only thing happening to the people of the world is that we will get to spread joy and edutainment to them again. What seems like almost 50 years of darkness will come to an end." Wally said as they began hyping themselves up for it.
