Chapter 1: The beginning

Ark station, 8:00am, October 12 2149
The people gathered around. “Everyone, I have an announcement.” Abby Griffin started. “All of the chancellors have been Oceanbloods. I’m only telling you now because my daughter has finally reached her 18th birthday. As you all know, my daughter is a real Moonblood!”
The crowd cheered. “So what?” Thelonius Jaha spat out. “Raven, if you please.” Abby stated. The girl nodded and started the projector. “Most of you are Oceanbloods. That means your blood is blue. It also makes you stronger and faster than the ordinary people. The normal human on the ground is actually supposed to have red blood.” A few people winced. “The last person on the Ark with red blood died four decades ago.” Raven added to Abby’s statements. “Good thing too, we don’t need to live with Ashbloods.” John Murphy added. Others voiced their agreement.
“Now the Nightbloods. They have black blood. Your Nightblood is supposed to enhance physical and mental skills.” A few people nodded. “The Sunbloods have yellow blood. It’s twice as good as Nightblood.”
“The blood that I have is green, known as Earthblood. Earthbloods are as strong as Sunbloods and as fast as Nightbloods. Our blood can heal and turn Ashbloods into Oceanbloods.” Some citizens looked disturbed at Abby’s words.
“The most rare is Moonbloods. Their blood can also be used to heal, although I’m unaware what it turns Ashbloods into. They have unimaginable strength and speed.” Abby finished.
“We all known this.” The chancellor before Jaha, Diana Sydney, scoffed. Clarke made her way to the stage but the current chancellor was shocked to see his son go too. “Clarke shared her secret with me, so I have been training for this day. The day I can assist her as her flame keeper.” Wells stated.
The crowd watched as Wells showed them the empty case. “Clarke received our flame last night.” The crowd cheered again.
“Now Clarke shall take her place as our leader.” Wells added. “Anyone who objects should stand up now.” Only Chancellor Jaha and former Chancellor Sydney stood up. “I am your chancellor. I’m in command.” Jaha declared. Before anyone could blink, Clarke was in front of him and had slapped him.
Jaha and Sydney looked around for reassurance. “Vice-Chancellor Kane? You’re bowing too?” Diana Sydney stuttered. Kane glared at her. “The only reason I ran was so you wouldn’t be able to corrupt someone else. Why else do you think you lost the election to Jaha?” Kane spat.
Abby nodded. “All Moonblood supporters voted Kane because of the message I had spread during the yearly check up.” Abby admitted. Seeing themselves outnumbered, Diana and Thelonius ran to a drop ship and ejected themselves.
“I will have my own council. Kane, you shall be in charge of training and security.” Clarke said and Kane bowed. “Pike, you’re in charge of education. Mom will be there as head of the medical department.” The two nodded.
“Synclair, you will be in charge of the engineers. Octavia Blake shall be my right hand and my advisor along with Raven. Raven will also be in charge of the Mechanics.” The three bowed. “Wells is automatically on there since he is the flame keeper. I am also changing our military from ‘Chancellor’s wrath’ back into ‘The Moon’s Stars.” The people cheered.
“Murphy, Monroe, Blake, and Miller. You will be our generals. The lead general will be Bellamy Blake.” The four newly appointed generals bowed. “All scouts will report to Finn Collins. Jasper Jordan will manage the supplies on the ground and Monty will manage the plants. As for the rest of us, the reason Thelonius had my father floated was because he wanted to tell all of you about the unfix able oxygen crisis.” The crowd whispered to themselves.
“I stand before you asking you to trust me and a few others to find out if Earth is survivable.” The crowd nodded. “Your stars are behind you all the way.” The four general said in unison. “The scouts will help too.” Finn added.
“I have to prepare our tech but Jasper and Monty are two of the best, even though their new jobs will stop them from doing it.” Raven commented. “Sign us up.” Monty agreed.
“As your right hand, I’m coming too. I also recommend that you take your flame keeper in case we do find the original flame. A flame keeper will only listen to their flame or another flame keeper.” Octavia suggested.
“It’s settled then. I am leaving Raven in charge of you until we radio you. For those of you coming, pack your things. We leave tomorrow. Dismissed.” Clarke said and the crowd disbursed. Only Wells remained. “Aren’t you going to pack?” Clarke asked.
“I wanted to talk to you. What are we going to do about the former chancellors?” Wells asked. “I’m not sure. I do know that we should capture them in the meantime.”
————
2:32pm, the next day, the ground
“Status report.” Clarke ordered once everyone had exited the drop ship. “Nobody died, Wanheda. Unfortunately the radio was broken. It will take us a few days to fix it.” Monty reported.
“Wanheda, we captured someone who was watching us.” Finn said. He led her to him. “Who’s that?” The man demanded. “Wanheda, we have yet to get him to talk. We’re unsure if he speaks English.” A young man told her.
“I think he does.” Clarke replied, noticing the look of fear the grounder had while the guard addressed her.
The Grounder gulped and dropped to one knee. “Wanheda of Skaikru, I am Lincoln kom Trikru.”
Octavia smirked at him. She had entered the room when the grounder started talking. “Tell me, do your people have the other flame?” Clarke asked. “Yes. It belongs to Heda Lexa kom Trikru.”
“Who’s the nearest authority figure?” “Anya kom Trikru.” Lincoln answered. The person who asked the question might not have been Wanheda, but Lincoln correctly deduced that she was her second.
“I want to meet her.” Clarke said calmly. Lincoln gulped. “Meet us tonight at the bridge.” He said slowly. Clarke gazed at the young man who was standing with a masked expression the entire time. The guard unchained Lincoln. Lincoln quickly left.
“Tell Finn to find that bridge and do a full perimeter sweep.” Clarke told the guard. He bowed and exited the room.
“Wanheda, I suggest the two of us go with my brother, Fox, and Atom.” Clarke nodded at her second.
—————
The bridge, sunset, same day
Clarke stood with Octavia on her right side and Bellamy on her left. Atom and Fox stood behind them. It wasn’t long before two men on horses showed up, one was Lincoln, led by a girl on a horse with a smaller girl on a horse next to her.
“I am Anya kom Trikru. This is my second, Tris kom Trikru.” “I believe Lincoln called us Skaikru.” Octavia reminded Clarke.
“I am Wanheda Clarke kom Skaikru. To my left is my lead general, Bellamy kom Skaikru. On my right is my second, Octavia kom Skaikru.” Tris whispered something to Anya. “We would like to see your base.”
“Of course, follow us.” Clarke said.
————
Right outside the gates, three minutes later
“Anya, reapers are coming!” One guard said as they arrived. “We must get inside before the reapers attack.” Anya said. “What are reapers?” Clarke asked. “The mountain creates reapers from our people and turns them into mindless beasts.” Tris explained.
“So you have no objections to their deaths?” Bellamy clarified. Anya slowly nodded. “Atom, show them inside and take them to Finn. Bellamy, it’s time we fight actual enemies.” Bellamy grinned at her. “Come forth Stars, it’s time.” He called. The soldiers came to Clarke’s side. They saw five hundred reapers approach.
“The time has come!” Murphy announced.
The soldiers all chanted in unison “We are Stars!”
“Defenders of the moon!” Monroe shouted.
“We are Stars!”
“Always ready!” Miller declared.
“We are Stars!” The soldiers echoed, growing more passionate.
“In honor of the Moon, we attack!” Bellamy responded.
The Soldiers pulled out their swords and charged. The battle was over quickly. “Who’s injured?” Clarke asked. Everyone gazed at Charlotte. “I wanted to help!” The little girl protested. “Besides, it’s not that bad.” Charlotte was indred right, it was a little cut. “Go get checked out.” Clarke said sternly. Charlotte nodded and ran inside.
“You sent a Natblida to war?” One of Anya’s guards stuttered. “Charlotte is a scout, whatever Natblida means.” Finn said, narrowing his eyes.
“Natblida means Nightblood.” Anya translated. “Of course we do, Nightbloods are good warriors.” Bellamy said. “Besides, they were forced by a dictator. Now that Wanheda is in charge, the children are no longer forced to have a position in the army.”
“How many Natblida do you have?” Tris asked. “Everyone not talking to you is a Nightblood. Except Harper, who’s double checking Charlotte is ok.” “Monty, Wells, and Jasper are in the drop ship.” Octavia pointed out.
“You have so little people who aren’t Natblida?” Anya repeated. Bellamy nodded while his sister and Wanheda shrugged.
“Maybe you can help us liberate the Mountain Men. Please, bring some of your warriors and let us take you to meet Heda.” Anya started. “Alright. We’ll meet you at the bridge in the morning.”
————
Bridge, sunrise
After leaving Monroe with twenty soldiers and two of the scouts, Clarke had brought two of her spies. “I understand why Finn came but why’d we bring the kid again?” Murphy complained.
“Because the grounder chief wanted us to.” Octavia answered. Murphy groaned in response. “There they are.” Monroe said, pointing to the fifteen horseback riders.
“Lincoln!” Octavia exclaimed, rushing over to hug him. Lincoln did the same. “Did something happen last night?” Bellamy demanded. “Oh shut it Bell. I can date whoever I want.” Octavia snapped.
“Date?” Clarke asked with a smirk. Octavia and Lincoln blushed and Octavia walked back to Clarke’s side. Clarke turned to Bellamy. “You aren’t allowed to harm him as long as your sister is in love with him.” She commanded. Bellamy shot a glare at Lincoln but nodded. Lincoln breathed out in relief. “You are allowed to do whatever you want to do to him if he breaks Octavia’s heart. After me and Octavia, of course.” Clarke added which made Bellamy grin.
Anya sighed. “Just don’t attack him in Polis.” She mumbled.
Chapter 2: What’s the strategy Commander?
Summary:

3:56 am, day of the meeting, Polis
“Speak.” Lexa said to the messenger. She was irritated that she had been woken up this early. “Anya has sent me to tell you she brings Wanheda to Polis.” Lexa was suddenly wide awake. “What else?”
“A young girl joined the battle and she was a Natblida. It took Wanheda’s Gonakru one minute to defeat five hundred reapers. Her and her generals claimed their whole group was Natblida, except for eight of them.” The messenger said to her.
“Is that all?” Lexa asked. The messenger nodded. “Please relay this to my flame keeper.” She added.
—————
Polis, 9 am
Surprisingly to Anya, it had been the horses that were struggling to keep up.
“Holt, no weapons beyond this point.” A guard said. Clarke narrowed her eyes as Octavia grabbed him by the shirt. “A Star’s weapon is always in the same room as them. Understood?” The guard nodded. Before long, they reached Lexa’s tower.
“Heda says your warriors are to stay on the second floor.” A woman says to them. “Fine. Monroe, join them.” The general nodded and left with the warriors. “The little girl stays.” Anya said to them. The six adults exchanged looks but decided to go with it.
Upon reaching the throne room, Murphy and Charlotte bowed. “Heda.” They said. “Heda, this little girl is a Natblida.” Anya explained. “This Nightblood used to live in the sky.”
Lexa turned to Clarke. “You must be Wanheda, owner of the second flame.” Clarke nodded. “Tell me, are you all Nightbloods?” Clarke laughed. “Only Charlotte and General Murphy are Nightbloods, Heda.”
“The flame should’ve killed you then. I don’t believe it.” Titus declared. The seven members of Skaikru exchanged amused glances. “Do you mind if I draw a little blood?” Lexa asked.
“You should at least give us your name before you ask to cut Wanheda. Her blood is precious.” Octavia demanded.
“Don’t speak to Heda that way!” “She’s right, Titus. I’m Lexa. The woman over there is Indra, my best warrior.” “I’m Clarke. The girl who just spoke to you is Octavia, my second. The boy who looks similar to her is her brother, General Blake. The kid is Charlotte, the man behind her is Finn. Next to Finn is my flame keeper, Wells. The last guy is General Murphy.”
Lexa walked up to Murphy. He sighed and held his hand out. His blood was black. The commander moved onto Bellamy, who bled yellow. Confused, she moved on to Octavia. She got the same result from Octavia, Wells, and Finn. She turned to Clarke. Clarke’s blood was white.
“Y-yellow blood? W-white blood? What is the meaning of this?” Titus stuttered. “Sunblood. We’re twice as strong as Nightbloods.” Octavia objected. “And the white blood?” Anya asked.
“Moonblood. They’re stronger and faster than you could ever dream. Their blood is also healing. Only Moonbloods can withstand the power of our flame.” Wells answered.
“What color is yours?” Finn asked. Indra took the knife and cut herself. “Are you kidding me? One of your best warriors is an Ashblood!” Murphy snapped.
“Ashbloods mean they have regular blood.” Charlotte explained. “What’s wrong with ordinary blood?” Indra protested. “Lincoln, do you have red blood too?” Octavia asked, ignoring Indra. He nodded. “There’s a cure. It’ll probably make you an Oceanblood but that’s better than an Ashblood.”
“You’re telling me that you have a way to change people’s blood?” Lexa repeated slowly. “Only works on Ashbloods. Although we do have another source that could potentially make you a Nightblood. We haven’t tried it yet.” “And we aren’t changing your army’s blood. I don’t think there’s enough of it.” Murphy added, shooting Clarke a concerned glance.
“Show me how it works, Wanheda.” Lexa demanded. “Do you have a Medical area?” Clarke asked innocently. Lexa sighed and led the way.
———
Polis medbay
Clarke noticed all the people in the room. “Everyone out but Lincoln, Octavia, Charlotte, Wells, and Lexa.” Clarke commanded. “Bellamy, you and Murphy watch the doors.” Bellamy nodded.
As soon as they left, Clarke turned to Charlotte. “Don’t distract me. This is a very difficult procedure.” She ordered all of them. “Lay on the bed.” She told Lincoln. Lincoln did it without question. “Knock him out.” She told Wells. He did as told.
Clarke sanitized a small knife and used it to cut open a vein. She sanitized the knife again and got a little bit of her blood which dripped into Lincoln’s vein.
Her blood repaired his vein in no time. “It should be done in a few minutes.” Clarke said, looking up. She sanitized the knife again.
“Swear by the flame that you won’t tell anyone how it happened.” Octavia demanded. Lexa hesitated. Octavia narrowed her eyes. “I swear by the power of the flame that I won’t tell anyone about the process.” Lexa stated. Clarke smiled at her.
“Choose four people to come in.” Clarke told Lexa. Lexa nodded and stepped out. She entered a moment later with Indra, Anya, and two girls Clarke didn’t recognize. “This is Luna and Ontari, they’re the only other adult Nightbloods from our clans.”
“So you’ve made Lincoln into a Nightblood or someone with blue blood?” Ontari asked with her arms crossed. Lincoln slowly sat up. “I feel different.” He mentioned. The five grounders gazed at him.
Clarke took the knife and cut a little bit of his skin to reveal the now black blood underneath. Well, there was still some red. The treatment just changed the type of blood produced.
“In about four months there will be no evidence he was ever an Ashblood.” Clarke said. “That’s amazing. What did you even do?” Luna exclaimed. “Skaikru secret.” Clarke said. “Heda?” Indra asked. Lexa shook her head. “Octavia made me swear by the flame.” They turned to Lincoln. “They knocked me out during it.” He admitted.
“We will meet with the generals of other clans in the afternoon.” Lexa said, smiling.
——
Throne room, 2:34
“Hello, I present Wanheda kom Skaikru.” Lexa said. “ Skaikru? Never heard of them.” Gustus objected.
“They came from a ship in the sky a week ago. The one who keeps looking around the room for threats calls us Ashbloods, believing red blood to be a mark of weakness.” Anya muttered to him. “Now, why haven’t you taken care of them? You clearly have the larger army.” Clarke asked, narrowing her eyes.
“They have acid fog and they capture anyone who gets close. Only some of our people come out, but they come out as monsters. Cannibals even. No sense of humanity left.” Indra explained.
“Drugs.” Murphy said suddenly. “The drug makes them forget who they are and increases their anger. It’s also addictive, so they serve the mountain men to get more.” Clarke nodded in approval at Murphy’s conclusion.
“So what do we do about it?” Luna asked. “We could capture them and place them in rehab.” Finn suggested. “Who’s he?” Ontari asked, pointing at Wells. It had become obvious Finn, Murphy, and Bellamy were part of the military.
“Sunblood Wells Jaha, flame keeper of Wanheda’s flame.” The others exchanged looks. Titus glared. “What makes you a better flame keeper than me?”
“I didn’t say anything about better.” Wells protested. “No, but you were thinking it!” Titus snapped. “This is the kind of flame keeper Ashbloods have?” Murphy asked. Titus narrowed his eyes. “Heda, control your flame keeper.” Clarke stated. Titus scoffed. “You think you’re so special with your white blood and methods to turn people into Nightbloods?”
“Actually she’s very special.” Octavia interjected. “Titus, stand down.” Lexa ordered. “What? Can’t the white blood speak for herself?” Titus sneered. All six Skaikru members glared at him. “The young little girl with white blood and her baby flame keeper.” “Titus, enough!” “No Heda! We should get rid of them at once!”
Lexa’s face was full of fury. She was about to talk when Clarke put a hand up. “A flame keeper’s sole duty is to obey the flame. If you can’t even do that, then I declare a duel to the death.” Wells stated.
The room went silent. “Only a Flame keeper can challenge-” “Titus, he is a flame keeper.” Lexa interrupted him. “As the challenger, you select the weapons. The fight will commence at sunset.” “I choose one dagger for each side.” Wells said confidently.
“Flame keepers, you are dismissed. Train hard.” Clarke said. Wells bowed and left. Titus looked furious but left anyway.
“Now, I say we send men inside to take down the fog.” Clarke stated. “They won’t let us. We’re just savages to them.” “So send me in. Finn and I can pose as Charlotte’s parents. We’ll get attacked by them while trying to save her. Jasper will join us too and will find a time to sneak away to turn off the fog. We’ll gather up the innocents and radio when it’s time to attack.” Octavia decided.
The grounder generals started arguing. “She’d send a child there!” One shouted in disgust. “Enough. That child is a trained Nightblood. She snuck out to fight in a battle against five hundred reapers and only received a small cut. They say she’s on scout duty because of her age. The child wishes to join the Natblida Gonakru.” Lexa said calmly.
“Who’s a good actor that you trust to be able to escape?” Clarke asked. “Me.” “Prince Roan, I must object.” A general remarked. “As soon as they take Jasper, Finn, Charlotte, and Octavia you will escape. Don’t let them inject or feed you anything.” Clarke commanded. The prince nodded.

Two days later, Skaikru camp
“Jasper, Monty, how are communications coming?” Clarke said as she entered. “We’re being blocked.” Monty replied. “Monty, keep trying. I have a mission for Jasper.”

Woods near Mt. Weather, October 20th 2149
“Come on!” Octavia shouted. “Mom, I’m trying!” Charlotte answered. “Leave my sister alone!” Jasper snapped. Roan roared and nearly cut them with his sword. Smoke started surrounding them and all five blacked out.
Notes:
Next up: We’ll check on the ark, get the PoVs of both Roan and our ‘family’, and have the flame keeper show down.

Chapter Text
A few days earlier, Polis arena
“Flamekeeper Wells has challenged Flamekeeper Titus to a battle. We now watch a battle to the death between them.” Clarke said.
“ Flamekeeper Wells kom Skaikru has challenged our Flamekeeper to a single combat duel. They will only get a dagger each. In single combat there is one rule, someone must die .” Lexa added. The crowd cheered. “Wells kom Skaikru, this is your last chance to back down.” Wells ignored her, grabbing his dagger. “Begin.” Lexa stated as Clarke said the same word in English.
Wells kept his eyes on Titus, analyzing him until he made the first strike. After a minute, Titus lunged at Wells. Before Titus got to him, Wells had his knife out. As soon as Titus reached him, Wells ducked and stabbed Titus’ leg. Titus groaned in pain. Titus stood up and started slashing his dagger in blind rage. Wells was able to easily dodge due to that. Wells decided to end it and slashed Titus’ throat, swiftly killing him.
“ The winner is Wells kom Skaikru. The new Flamekeeper will be his only apprentice, Gaia kom Trikru.” Lexa announced.

Present, day after the last chapter’s final scene, Mt. Weather quarantine
Charlotte woke up in a room with a white bed and white padded walls. There was also a sink and a toilet. Charlotte narrowed her eyes and started analyzing the room out of habit before mentally cursing herself for forgetting her role. “Mom? Dad? Uncle J?” She said, this time looking around in fear as she analyzed it.
A young girl in a hazmat suit walked in. Charlotte silently noted that. “Who are you? What’s going on? What did you do with my family?” Charlotte stammered. “Do you work for that creepy guy with the bloody sword?”
The girl took off her helmet. “No sweetie, we rescued you from him. We were waiting to make sure all the radiation is gone before we take you to Dr. Tsing so she can check you over. Your uncle and daddy are still in quarantine but Dr. Tsing is checking over your mommy now.” The girl explained.
“What’s quarantine?” Charlotte asked, trying her best to sound clueless. “It means they’re in time out.” The girl responded. “Why? Daddy never does anything bad. Except for that one time when he yelled at Uncle J for missing my birthday party.” That was sort of true. Finn and Monty both yelled at Jasper when he didn’t show up to the youngest star’s birthday
“Not like that sweetie. We’re keeping him away from everyone to make sure they’re not sick. If they go make friends now, they risk getting their new friends sick.” Charlotte still looked scared. “I never introduced myself. I’m Maya. What’s your name?”
“Charlotte.” She said, deciding not to lie about that. Maya smiled. “Let’s go see Dr. Tsing. If you’re good, you can get a piece of candy before you see your mommy.” Charlotte nodded and followed her.
—————
Mt. Weather medbay
“Hello Charlotte, your mom told me that you’re not afraid of doctors.” Dr. Tsing said. Charlotte nodded. “Can Maya stay? Mommy was in the room until I felt comfortable with my doctor.” “I’ll stay.” She agreed.
Charlotte did her best to look nervous as she noted everything about the room. “Open your mouth.” Charlotte did as told. Dr. Tsing stuck a thermometer in her mouth. “Close it.” They waited until the thermometer beeped. “Open.” Dr. Tsing took it out. “You’re perfectly healthy. Maya will take you to your mommy now.”
——————
A few minutes later
“Mom!” Charlotte cried, running up to Octavia. “Hey sweetie, I missed you.” “And no hug for daddy or Uncle J?” Finn asked, keeping up with the ruse. The girl smiled and gave Finn and Jasper hugs.
“I want to introduce you to my friend Maya. She took me to the doctor and comforted me.” Charlotte said. Jasper and Maya locked eyes in awe. “Forgive me for asking, but do you know anyone else outside of here?” Maya asked. Octavia, Jasper, and Charlotte faked tears.
“We lived with a whole community but the scary man with the sword led some people to our homes and started killing everyone. The blood on his sword belongs to the mayor who was visiting us. She bought us time to escape but the creepy man followed us. Then we woke up here.”
“Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. Don’t worry, you’ll never have to see him again.” Maya reassured her. Finn frowned. “I want to interrogate him. See if they have some of our people alive.”
Suddenly, an unfamiliar man walked up to them. “Mr. Emerson, is something wrong?” Maya asked. He shook his head. “The president wishes to speak to Octavia, Finn, and Charlotte about enrolling her in school. Here, I’ll show you the way.” They left the room, leaving Maya and Jasper alone.
“So um, you single?” Jasper asked.
———
Blood harvesting room, later that day
“So Lorelei, what do you think about those four?” “The little girl seemed mature for her age. The mom was very aggressive and the dad was too trusting. The uncle is too close to the mother’s age to really be her brother but they could be half siblings. My biggest concern is how there was only one man chasing them instead of multiple.” Dr. Lorelei Tsing answered.
“He was dressed much more fancy than the others. He might be an authority figure.” “Sir, I thought they were savages.” “Lorelei, did you forget history already?” The other person said. “I was never good at it. I would’ve failed high school if the last doctor didn’t die. Luckily for me, being the only doctor is a full time job that requires no history.”
“Well, all savages had chiefs. The one who rules over them.” “What are your orders, sir?” “Keep an eye on them.”
————
Meanwhile, restricted area
Octavia climbed down to the ground. She looked around before her eyes settled on Roan. “Here, Charlotte ‘lost’ her map.” Octavia whispered, handing it through the bars. She unlocked his cage. “Mochof, Octavia kom Skaikru.” He replied to her.
His eyes turned to a girl who was looking at him with love. “Octavia kom Skaikru, that girl is my little sister. Do you mind if we free her too?” Before Octavia could answer, the girl shook her head. “They use me too often. They’ll definitely notice I’m missing. Come back for me once you defeat the mountain.”
“What do they use you for?” Octavia interrupted. “They use me for my blood.” The girl answered, locking eyes with Octavia.
————
Same time, Ark meeting room
“We haven’t heard back yet from Wanheda. I’m getting worried.” “Abby, she’s a Moonblood and one of the strongest people I know.” Raven replied. “She is my daughter! I’m allowed to worry.” Abby shot back.
“Abby, their radio probably broke on the way down.” Kane reassures. “Monty and Jasper would’ve fixed it by now.” Synclair disagreed. Abby started to tear up and Raven slapped Synclair.
“There are other reasons. Like there could be something blocking their signal or Monty can’t figure out the frequency to the ark. It could even be a problem with the distance that they’re trying to work out.” Raven explained.
As if on cue, Monty’s voice came through. “This.” Static. “Monty.” Static. “to.” Static. “station.” “Hold on Monty, we’re narrowing in on your signal.” A video screen set up on the wall.
“Monty? Can you go get Clarke?” Abby asked. He shook his head. “There are thirteen groups of survivors. Twelve belong to a bigger group that we call the grounders under the first flame. Clarke is at their capital.” Monty explained.
“The other?” Kane asked. “Evil. The grounders call them the Mountain men. The mountain men capture their people and turn them into mindless beings that they call reapers.” “Should we come to your location now?” Pike interrupted. Monty nodded.
“Alright, the mechanics and the engineers will come down tonight.” Monty nods and closes the connection.
————
Polis, noon next day
“Heda, Wanheda, Roan kom Azgeda just returned.” “Let him in.” Lexa ordered. Roan entered the room and bowed. “What did you find out?” Clarke asked.
“The mountain men drain our blood. We don’t know why.” Roan answered. He turned to Clarke. “Your second told me to give you this.” He handed her a map.

Room 129, 6 am
“Remember what they teach, especially about the grounders.” Octavia whispered as Charlotte put the backpack she was given on her back.
“Will do.” Charlotte answered.
—————
Mt. Weather elementary school
“Good morning everyone.” The teacher said. “Good morning Mrs. Lovejoy.” The class echoed. “Class, this is the new kid. Her name is Charlotte Blake. Charlotte, please sit in between Andrew Lovejoy and May Whitman.” Charlotte nervously found her way to the seat between the two.
————
Lunch room, few hours later
“So Jasper, who’s this?” Finn asked. “This is my girlfriend, Maya Vie. Maya, this is my sister Octavia and my brother-in-law Finn Blake.” “Wait, why do you and your brother-in-law have the same last name?” She questioned. “I took Octavia’s last name.” Finn answered.
“Huh. Anyway, I should probably introduce you to my dad.” Maya got up and left to find her father. “So I finished my dare, did you?” Octavia commented to Jasper. “Yes, I did.” Jasper said. Maya came back to them. “My dad wants to invite you guys to our home at 6.” “We’ll be there.” Finn replied.
—————
Mt. Weather Elementary school, two hours later
“So, who can tell me when we found out about the savages?” The teacher asked and a few kids raised their hands. “Kayla?” The teacher picked.
“We first saw the savages a few decades ago, when someone was watching the security cameras. The president opened the doors, believing we were safe. His family, except him and our current president, died within minutes.” She said.
————
6 pm, Vie residence
“Hey, I’m Vincent. I watch the security cameras. That’s how we know you’re lying. What’s the truth?” “We’re also the leaders of the resistance.” Maya added to them.
“We’re not related, at all. My girlfriend is actually a girl named Raven and we are not Charlotte’s parents. Although Jasper is in love with you.” Finn revealed. “What is your culture like?” Maya asked.
“It’s actually similar to yours in home life except we lived in space. We are ruled by those who have white blood when they turn eighteen. There was a gap between our current leader and the last leader so we elected chancellors who dictated our people and they forced those with black blood into the army. Our current leader’s dad was killed when he wanted to share that our space ship’s oxygen system was failing. She was revealed a month ago.” Jasper explained to them.
Noticing their confused looks when they mentioned blood colors, Octavia decided to elaborate. “We evolved these colors from solar radiation. We call those with red bloods Ashbloods, they’re basically the same capabilities as you but the grounder’s Ashbloods can withstand radiation. We don’t have any Ashbloods at all. The next blood type has blue blood, Oceanbloods. Those are our normal civilians. Their blood makes them one and a half times as strong as Ashbloods.”
“The next is one that someone made genetic on the ground, Nightblood. I have that blood, meaning my blood is black. It’s three times better than Oceanblood and we used to be forced into the military before Clarke, our current leader, took over. Clarke is what we call a Moonblood, meaning she has white blood. The oldest that’s older than eighteen receives our flame, an AI that lets them seek advice from previous Moonblood leaders. Their blood can heal people and turn Ashbloods into Nightbloods. They are faster and stronger than anything you could’ve imagined.” Charlotte continued.
“There’s also Sunbloods, their blood is yellow. They are twice as fast and strong as Nightbloods. Me, Jasper, and Octavia are Sunbloods. Lastly we have the Earthbloods, they have green blood. The Earthbloods are as fast as Nightbloods and as strong as Sunbloods. They’re blood can heal and turn Ashbloods into Oceanbloods. They are always the doctors.” Finn continued.
“Sunbloods are the highest ranking of each profession, except for doctors. Finn is the lead scout, Jasper is in charge of our supplies, and I am our leader’s second in command.” Octavia finished telling them.
Maya and Vincent exchanged amazed looks before Vincent spoke up. “So what are you doing here?” “We wanted to find the resistance and save them and the children.” Charlotte answered.
“Thank goodness you did. Some of our people have to earn trust by taking the outsiders’ blood.” Vincent replied. Finn nodded. “We can send a message out today. When can you gather the children and resistance in one spot?” Octavia spoke.
Notes:
Sorry it’s shorter then usual. I just couldn’t resist the cliffhanger

The war room, two hours later
“So, you are Wanheda.” An older woman said, her voice dripping in a combination of respect and sarcasm. Clarke raised her chin. “And you are?” “Queen Nia kom Azgeda.” She replied hastily. Lexa rolled her eyes.
“Everyone, introduce yourselves and your generals. I am Heda Lexa kom Trikru. My new flamekeeper is Gaia kom Trikru, my personal general is Anya kom Trikru, and my bodyguard is Gustus kom Trikru.”
“I am the Captain of Floukru. We have no military.” Luna reported. “My generals are my son, Roan, and Atohl.” Queen Nia remarked. “I am Chief Indra kom Trikru. My generals are Quint and Tristan.”
“I am King Noran kom Sangedakru. My generals are Knight and Brell.” “I am Emperor Brad kom Boudalan. My generals are Olca and Tufa.” “I am Corporal Clinan kom Ouskejonkru. My generals are Yosem and Asgar.”
“I am Empress Eve kom Louwada Kilronkru. My generals are Mara and Oaxa.”
“I am Lord Forrest kom Trishana. My generals are Illian and Ongas.” “I am Admiral Yuli kom Yuijeda. My generals are Uzac and Alma.”
“I am Captain Mateo kom Podakru. My generals are Guara and Terro.” “I am Director Dale kom Delphi. My generals are Cabor and Castro.” “I am Lord Pete kom Ingranrona. My generals are Hufa and Gael.”
“I am Wanheda Clarke Griffin kom Skaikru. This is my flamekeeper, Wells Jaha and my lead general, Bellamy Blake. The other three are my other generals; John Murphy, Nathan Miller, and Zoe Monroe.”
“Who is this?” Knight asked, referring to the injured girl who was leaning on the door. “I am Shay kom Floukru. I was released to tell you that it is time.” She revealed.
“When exactly did Octavia say?” Clarke asked. “Sunset tomorrow night.” Shay answered. “The leader of the resistance has a daughter who is hosting a party for the children and inviting the innocent of the mountain. The little Natblida will be there along with Jasper and Finn. Your second will open the reaper tunnel for our armies. She is killing the reapers when the sun is at its highest point.” The girl finished.
“We’re saving the innocent? What are we doing with them?” “My people will change their blood to allow them to stay outside the mountain, we will only make the leaders Natblida.” Clarke explained to Nia. “We will keep them in Skaikru. Do you have a problem with that?”
“What makes you think you can turn them into Natblida?” Quint asked her skeptically. “She turned Lincoln kom Trikru into a Natblida because my sister likes him.” Bellamy explained. “Can you prove it?” Tristan sneered.
“Bring me Lincoln.” Lexa told her bodyguard. He nodded. A few seconds later, he entered with Lincoln. “Show them.” She ordered. Lincoln nodded and stabbed his wrist with a pencil. All the Ashbloods except Anya and Indra stared at Lincoln as black blood poured out of his wrist.
The generals started arguing. “How will the next Heda be chosen now?” Quint shouted. “Enough. That is a problem for the future. Wanheda and their medics’ blood can heal Natblidas.” Lexa told them.
—————
Same time, president’s office
“Come in.” Dante called. Maya entered with James Shaw and Paul Tilling by her side. Dante and Cage looked at her with a curious look.
“We wanted to welcome the Blake family to our community. Paul and James have offered to stay with us so we can be safe if the Outsiders return, or if one of them starts attacking. I doubt they’d attack us on purpose, but they might have panic attacks and lash out due to their recent trauma with the Outsiders.” Maya told the president.
Cage and Dante hummed. “I think that’s a wonderful idea. In fact, why don’t you take a few pizzas and a cake too.” Cage said.
—————
Mount Weather, sunset, the next day
“Are the doors locked?” Finn asked and Vincent nodded. The alarms started blaring. “What’s going on?” Kayla asked them.
“We lied about who we are. We’re from the space stations and we were sent here to find the innocent people while the grounders get their revenge.” Jasper answered.
“My dad?” Andrew asked nervously. “Is evil.” Charlotte finished. “Our friend has a way to let you go outside though. We just have to sit tight.”
The children, still confused, went back to partying.
—————
The reaper tunnels, same time
The armies entered to discover all the reapers dead. “I said I'd kill them. Now come on!” Octavia whispered. Everyone exchanged uneasy glances, scared that a girl was able to kill all the reapers and she still doesn’t have a bruise.
“Octavia, stay back for a minute.” Clarke said as Lexa shouted to her army. “Kom War!” The grounders cheered and they followed Heda into the mountain. Clarke sighed and turned to her right hand. “So where is the injury?”
Octavia raised her shirt to reveal a nasty wound on her back. “A reaper stabbed me when I wasn’t looking.” Octavia told her.
———————
President’s office, thirty minutes later
“Hello, president. My name is Clarke Griffin and this is the leader of the ones you call outsiders, Lexa kom Trikru.” A blonde woman told him.
“I should’ve listened to Cage when he said Octavia was suspicious!” Dante said. Clarke shrugged. “Don’t worry, the children are safe. They’ll be able to go outside. As for you, jus drein jus duan.” Lexa told him. “Gustus, bring him with us.”
——————
Blood harvesting room
“What are we going to do?” Lorelei asked Cage. “Soon, they’ll make their way down here and slaughter us.” The president’s son confirmed.
“Not to worry, we can help you escape using the same method they’re using to help your children.” A sinister voice told them.
——————
Grounder chamber, the next morning
“This is where they kept our brothers and sisters! Here is where their leader shall die by death by a thousand cuts!” Lexa said. The grounders cheered.
“Princess Echo, as the one who was drained the most, you have the honor of giving the first cut.” Clarke told her.
The process was long. President Dante was able to make it through all of the cuts. “Any last words?” Lexa asked the man, preparing.
“I don’t regret choosing my people over yours. I regret that I had to. And thank you Clarke, for saving our children.” He said.
“That is actually the most respectful last words I have ever heard.” Lexa took her sword and stabbed him through his heart. “Blood has had blood!”
