Chapter 1: Shimura

Chapter Text

A green-haired man who looked like a teenager was walking through the streets with a lollipop in his mouth. To others, he looks like an ordinary teenager. No one knew that the green-eyed man had actually been around since the dawn of quirk and was a famous quirk specialist.

When he was walking down the street, he saw a little six-year-old boy with bloody hands. He watched the boy for a moment and noticed that no one was helping him. He bit into the lollipop and threw the stick away. He started walking towards the boy, analyzing the situation.

The boy was definitely activating his quirk for the first time. He probably killed someone. 92% of the time it was a family member. He keeps his hands away from his body. It must be a five-finger activation.

The man knelt in fromt of the boy. "Do you need help?" The man asked with a pleasant smile.

The little boy looked at the teenager in front of him and looked into those kind eyes that held the wisdom of the world. And somehow the boy knew that nothing bad would happen to him with this man. The blue-haired boy didn't speak, he just nodded.

The man picked up the boy. He saw the panic in the boy's eyes when he picked him up so he calmed him down. "Don't worry, as long as you don't touch me with all your fingers, your quirk shouldn't work."

The little boy looked at the man. And slowly he grabbed the green-haired man's shirt with four fingers on both hands.

The green-eyed man smiled at the boy and started carrying him towards the police station.

The little boy didn't know that he had just avoided an encounter with a bogeyman from the underground, who retreated as soon as he saw his old teacher. After all, no one was stupid enough to harm any of the pupil belonging to an immortal.

After all, even the HPSC didn't risk Midoriya Izuku's wrath.

Midoriya entered the police station. On the way here, he managed to wipe the blood from Tenko's hands. He looked at the first policeman he saw. He had a visible cat mutation. "May I request a meeting with detective Tsukauchi?"

"I'll take you to his office when I call him." Said the cat policeman who looked at him strangely.

Izuku smiled warmly. "Thank you."

They both entered the room and sat on a chair. Midoriya had heard a lot about the young detective with the lie detector quirk. He knew that he would believe him the quickest and help with the boy.

He calmed the little boy while he waited. There was a possibility that his quirk worked with his emotions. He couldn't die himself, but he didn't need to add more trauma to this little child by killing the entire police station.

He heard the door open and saw the detective enter.

"So you must be the ones who wanted to meet me. May I ask why me?" Tsukauchi asked with curiosity and slight suspicion.

Midoriya analyzed the detective.

He greeted them politely. It's obvious he doesn't care what quirks they have. He also has worry in his eyes. He has to worry about house violence. He guesses we came to him because of his quirk. But he is also suspicious. Looks like there won't be a problem with this detective. He is attentive during his work. Izuku smiled to himself.

"Tenko, this detective will help you. Just tell him what happened." Izuku said to the boy on his lap. The detective sat at his desk and didn't say anything. He probably guessed it was a delicate situation.

Tenko looked at Izuku and he saw the assuracnce in his eyes. He took a deep breath and began to speak.

"My father didn't like heroes." A little boy started. And the other two listened to him carefully.

"He got mad when my sister and I talked about heroes and how we wanted to be heroes. So he shouted at us, especially me. He beat me and left me outside in the garden. My family didn't try to help me. They were afraid of my father "

Midoriya didn't like the implications of this. He understood that Tenko's sister might not have tried to defend the boy. After all, she was barely older than her brother and didn't have the strength to help him against a grown man. But the boy's mother and the rest of the family. It was unintentional negligence on their part. She could have easily gone to the police and reported her father. Izuku tried to hide his grimace. A look at the detective showed him that he had deduced that too.

"Hana found photos of our grandmother, who was a hero. She left dad in an orphanage. Dad hated her for it. In my opinion, grandma was not a bad person. From this photo, it was clear that she loved our father. In my opinion, she left dad to protect him "

Izuku couldn't help but smile proudly. Tenko was quite smart if he came to this conclusion on his own. Midoriya tried to think of who Tenko reminded him of.

He had an excellent memory. He just needed to go through his memories. He knew he would remember at the right moment.

"Dad found out that we had seen the photo. He hit me and threw me outside. My dog came to me. I started petting him and suddenly there was a pool of blood next to me. Then everything started falling apart. I killed my sister, and then my mother, grandparents and finally my father who tried to hit me. Then I was lost and no one wanted to help me. I didn't want to kill them." The little boy burst into tears.

Midoriya hugged the boy. When the little boy calmed down. He saw how angry the detective was, but quickly hid his emotion so as not to scare Tenko. When Izuku looked back at the boy, he finally remembered who he resembled.

"Your grandmother is Shimura Nana, right?" Izuku asked the little boy he was still hugging.

The boy wiped his face and looked at the man. "Do you know about my grandmother?"

"Yes. I met her a long time ago." Izuku said with a melancholy smile.

The detective looked at the green-haired man with surprise. "Wait, but Nana Shimura has been dead for a several years. How could you have met her?"

"You see Detective, that's another reason I chose you. My name is Izuku Midoriya and I'm 216 years old. My quirk is adaption of immortality." Izuku said calmly.

Tsukauchi's eyes widened. TRUE. "I understand now why you came to me."

A small voice asked. "Does this mean I can't hurt you with my quirk."

Midoriya looked at Tenko, who was looking at him with shining ruby eyes full of hope. Izuku has always had a soft spot for his students, and Tenko reminds him of many of them. He smiled at the boy. "You're right. No one can kill me. And thanks to the adaptation part, I've even become immune to the quirk handcuffs."

"It's amazing." Said the boy with shining eyes.

Izuku smiled at the boy. He turned to the detective and saw him filling out a report on Tenko. "Detective, do you have medical tape available?"

The detective looked at Izuku and nodded. He bent down and took out the first aid kit from the cabinet where he kept the tape, handing it to Izuku.

Midoriya turned to Tenko, feeling Tsukauchi's curious gaze on him.

"Tenko, can you give me your hands?" The little boy just looked at it in confusion, but handed it over without hesitation. Which warmed Midoriya's heart a little that the boy trusted him so much. He put tape on some of the boy's fingers. And then he gave him a glass of water.

"Touch this glass with all your fingers." Tenko looked at Midoriya in confusion, but obeyed. His eyes widened when the glass didn't shatter in his hands. He started trying to touch everything.

Izuku looked at Tenko fondly. He took his favorite lollipops from his pocket and handed one to the boy, who smiled at him.

"Tenko, I'd like you to wait outside for a moment, I need to talk to this nice detective about something, okay?" Izuku asked. The boy nodded and went to wait outside.

Midoriya's smile disappeared. He may have had a soft spot for children, but he certainly wasn't soft on everyone. It was not without reason that he spread fear among everyone he met.

Tsukauchi could feel shivers running through his body.

"I want to know what will happen to Tenko." Midoriya said coldly.

"We'll have to send him to an orphanage." Naomasa said calmly.

"Do you think I'm stupid? I know who Nana was and what power she wielded. We both know the boy won't be safe from the bogeyman from the underworld." Izuku said.

"How do you know about him?" Tsukauchi asked. He didn't know much about this man, but he was certainly intelligent, especially since he lived so long. He couldn't know if he could trust him.

"I'll tell you if nothing I say leaves this room and you don't tell your friend about it." Izuku said.

Tsukauchi guessed who the elder was talking about. "I promise no one will find out about our conversation."

"I had many students. But I will never forget the two brothers I met about 200 years ago." Izuku said, looking into the distance as if recalling a long-forgotten memory. "They were some of my students. The younger one was very sickly and everyone thought he didn't have a quirk, and his brother who was capable of stealing and giving quirks."

Naomasa watched with wide eyes. "You taught All For One and his brother?!"

Izuku smiled sadly. "Yes. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop him from taking the path he did."

"Could you tell me..." Izuku raised his hand, stopping Naomas.

"Tsukauchi, you understand how important confidentiality of information is as a detective. And I, as their teacher, cannot give you this information because to obtain this information I had to gain their trust. If I told you now, I would betray the trust I have gained over the years." Izuku said seriously.

Tsukauchi looked at Midoriya in surprise. And he understood. Because he himself knew how difficult it is sometimes to gain someone's trust. And there is a possibility that this trust may come in handy someday. So he just smiled. "I understand, I won't ask about it again."

"Thank you for understanding, now about Tenko. I have many degrees that I've done over the years. One of them is quirk counselor. So I've helped with unstable quirks a lot. And I'm also licensed as a foster parent." Izuku said.

"Wait, are you implying that..." Naomasa started and Izuku finished.

"I'm adopting him. My former student would never threaten anyone under my protection. Besides, I can help him with his quirk. I travel often and give lectures on quirks. But for some time I needed a break and something to keep me in Japan for a few years." Midoriya said.

"So why don't we ask Tenko what he thinks? After all, it's up to him to decide." Tsukauchi said and they both went to ask the little boy's opinion.

Izuku walked out of the office with Tsukauchi and saw Tenko eating his lollipop. He smiled softly and walked over to Tenko.

The detective shuddered when he saw Midoriya's quick mood change. This man sure is terrifying. He'll remember in the future not to piss off the green-haired man.

Midoriya crouched down in front of Tenko and the boy looked at him with a curious look.

"So Tenko, I have a question for you." Izuku started and looked at the boy who was looking at him intently. "Would you like to stay with me?"

Tenko looked at the man in front of him in surprise. "Stay with you?"

Izuku smiled softly. "Yes, I would adopt you. I would become your guardian and teach you how to use your quirk."

The little boy looked at the elder hopefully, when he saw the serious look on his face he jumped up and hugged him. "Yes, I want this. I want to stay with you."

Izuku returned the hug as his kid began to thank him. It's been a long time since he had a student, let alone a ward. He can't wait to see this boy grow up.

"Tenko, would you like to change your name to mine or keep yours?"

Tenko looked at Izuku and thought about it. "Will you tell me about my grandmother?"

Midoriya looked at Tenko and replied. "Of course you have the right to know about her."

Tenko looked at his new guardian with a determined look. "I want to keep my last name to remember my grandmother and Hana, but I will use your last name when introducing myself. Could I do that?"

"Of course you can. I think Nana would be happy to know that you want to remember her and your sister would be happy too."

At the end of the day, when all the documents were signed, Tenko was already sleeping in Izuku's arms. Tsukauchi looked at the older man with a smile.

"Those are all the documents Midoriya." Tsukauchi said.

"Call me Izuku, detective. I feel that as long as I take care of Tenko, we will meet more than once."

The detective looked at the elder with surprise. "Then call me Naomasa, Izuku." Tsukauchi said with a smile.

Izuku smiled back, took an old pocket watch from his pocket that he got a long time ago, and checked the time. "Looks like it's my time." Midoriya took out a piece of paper from his pocket that he had prepared earlier. He gave this to the detective. "This is for you. It has my phone number on it if you need to meet with me."

The detective took the number and hid it to prescribe it later.

Midoriya started to leave and turned to Naomasa one last time with a wave. He left with his new ward (and soon his son, although he didn't know it).
