Chapter 1: Prologue - Runaway Boy

Chapter Text

Harry Potter doesn't understand what is happening but all he knows is that he should keep running. But where he asks himself. He doesn't know but knows that he should get away from his relatives as far as he can.

He shouldn't have blown his aunt Marge’s head like a balloon no matter how angry he was. Now he could only run to avoid getting beaten by his uncle.

Harry was about to reach the Night Bus when he was suddenly grabbed by the wrist by someone and dragged to an empty alley. He struggled as his mouth was covered by the stranger's hand.

"Shh, don't struggle. Look outside and see"

Harry was wary but followed the stranger's line of sight and realized that Aurors had apparated near the Night Bus and seemed to be looking for something or someone.

"I want you to listen to me first before I let you go. If those Aurors found you, they would take you back to that place and they wouldn't care much about you being mistreated by them. They will very much try to punish you for accidental magic"

Harry's eyes widened with bewilderment. If that were the case, then how did they know where to look? And where would he go now?

He realized that he still couldn't move so he took a few deep breaths to calm himself down. Once his body relaxed, the stranger released him from the chokehold.

Harry took a look at the stranger. It was a woman with forest green eyes and wearing a plain muggle shirt with loose jeans and a maroon jacket tied around her hips.

"Who are you and why are you helping me?" Harry questioned.

"While those are fair questions, you're asking the wrong ones. The main question should be how do I know about Aurors and the existence of magic when I'm not supposed to?" the woman asked back.

Harry gaped at her and thought that he should've asked her that as he mentally slapped himself.

"I would like to explain things to you but this isn't the right place to talk about. Let's talk about this somewhere more private" she said.

"How do I know if I can trust you?"

"You don't but it's not like you have that much of a choice anyway. You don't even have a place to go to after all this"

Harry's lips thinned as he scrunched up his nose. The woman was right, he could choose not to follow but that meant he would get caught and be sent back to the Dursleys. He sighed and followed the stranger to her home.

You reached your house and unlocked the door as you went inside while Harry followed.

"Make yourself at home. You must be tired from all that running" you said.

Harry shook his head. "No, not until you tell me what is going on"

You clicked your tongue. "You're just as impatient as your father"

"What did you say? Do you know my father?" Harry heard it and asked, surprised.

"Yes, I do know your father, your mother, and your father's friends but I will have to explain everything from the beginning so let me introduce myself first. My name is (First Name) Trelawney and I'm a Squib who is a fortune teller in the muggle world"

"Trelawney. Are you by chance related to that. . ." Harry trailed off.

"Yes, I am related to Sybil Trelawney. She's my cousin through Cassandra's second daughter" You explained. "How I know your parents are quite brief. I was just doing my usual fortune-telling business in the muggle world when I met your parents and their friends while they were exploring for the first time. Well, to most of them"

Harry frowned. "Wait so you knew them through business"

You nodded. "Yep, and I know you're questioning my relationship with them. It's just that your father is the one who became my regular by visiting me every Saturday"

"Why?" Harry raised his brows in surprise.

"Most of the time he came to me for advice. Sometimes he would even ask me to see his future," you replied.

"You can see the future but I thought you said you're a Squib?" he questioned, confused.

"I am a Squib but how I see the future is not the way Seers see. Plus I have more Divination talent than Sybil does. I just don't have any magic in me to use" you clarified.

Harry nodded to himself, still trying to comprehend everything.

“Now enough about me. Now you know about my relationship with your father and who I am, I can tell you about what happened that night on October 31st” you said.

Harry’s head snapped to you and you wondered if that's going to hurt if he keeps doing that.

“The night my parents died? I already know everything I need to know” he frowned.

You hummed and took a seat on the armchair opposite Harry. “Well yes, that was what generally happened that night but you don't know all the details. People think that because you’re young and it was your parents they were talking about they thought that they were being considerate by not telling you everything and just saying that the Dark Lord murdered your parents but have you ever thought how he found out about their whereabouts and the reason why he went after them?”

Harry gaped at you as his eyes widened at the revelation. “H-How would you know about all of this?”

“Because I may not be at Godric’s Hollow that night, I was just as involved as your parents are, and aside from the Dark Lord and your parents, I know what truly went down that very night” you replied, and then your gaze softened. “You may be young but I think you deserve to know at least this much about them. They are your parents after all”

Harry’s body started shaking as he tried to hold back a choked sob. “No one tells me anything. I’m their son so I deserve to know what happened to them”

“Then you will get the answers because you can decide what to do with this information. Which part do you want to know?” you said with reassurance.

“Why does Voldemort go after my parents? What does he get out of it aside from robbing me of my childhood?” he asked.

You arched a brow. “Woah, straight to the hard part, huh? Well, everything has got to do with you”

“Me? But I am nothing special. I’m just Harry” he pointed at himself incredulously.

“Remember what I said about Seers? Cassandra Trelawney is Sybil and my great-grandmother who is a well-known Seer for her visions and prophesies in the Wizardry World so we both have inherited her natural divination talent despite our difference in terms of magic” you explained and then went into thought for a moment before continuing. “It was a month before you were born that a prophecy was made. I know this is because I also had a vision and it was the first and probably the last time I would have this. Sybil probably had the same vision as I do seeing that Dumbledore reacted by ordering the Potters and the Longbottoms into hiding”

“Wait, wait, wait. A prophecy, between me and Voldemort? What does it say?” Harry questioned.

“Before we get to that, I need to tell you this your parents didn't know about the prophecy at the time when Dumbledore ordered them to go into hiding because the only ones who knew or witnessed it were Dumbledore, Voldemort, and the follower who overheard the prophecy. Sybil won't be able to remember it after she announced her vision but I do and I never leaked it unless I had to so you better not tell anyone that I knew or the prophecy at all” you warned.

Harry nodded and you continued. “Very well. The prophecy is as follows. . .

“The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies… and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not… and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives… the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies.”

That was the whole prophecy but here's the catch. The follower who overheard the prophecy only heard the first half of it before he was caught so the Dark Lord didn't know the whole prophecy”

You then became silent as you watched Harry turn from shock into dumbfounded denial.

“Hah, so the reason why Voldemort went after me all this time is because of some stupid prophecy?”

“It would be stupid if you just follow it blindly without knowing the whole thing and interpreting it the wrong way because vanquishing can come in different meanings. Especially that specific sentence, “Either must die at the hands of the other for neither can live while the other survives”. That sounded very vague and ominous, don't you think?” you remarked.

Harry breathed ragged breaths as he tried to comprehend everything that he didn't expect. The reason why Voldemort tried to kill him and killed his parents. It was too much for him to handle.

“Take this, Mr. Potter. Some tea to help calm you down. Unfortunately, I do not have any Calming Draught to help you” You passed the hot tea to Harry.

Harry gratefully took the cup of tea and drank it without considering the temperature of the heat.

He gasped and asked, “And then what happened after that? You said that even the Longbottoms went into hiding aside from my parents”

You nodded. “Because the prophecy stated a child born in the seventh month dies. Both the Potters and the Longbottoms fit the criteria as they are expecting soon at that time but you were born the day after the Longbottom child which is the last day of the seventh month”

“So that's it then. My fate was already sealed the moment I was born and all I could do was either kill him or I’ll die in his hands” Harry then started rambling until you couldn't take it anymore and cut him out of his thoughts.

“Okay, are there any more questions you want to know?”

“How did my parents hide from Voldemort and his followers?” he asked.

You hummed. “That, I can answer. Remember when I told you about your father’s friends who first came to my fortune-telling business in the muggle world? Dumbledore ordered the Potters to go into hiding and was the one who told them to hide in Gordric’s Hollow instead of the Potter manor which has strong ancient protection wards that were hard to break and cast the Fidelius Charm to protect their location”

“What is the Fidelius Charm?”

You frowned and closed your eyes in frustration, wanting to strangle Dumbledore with his beard for keeping Harry ignorant of such basic things.

You opened your eyes again and explained patiently. “The Fidelius Charm is an ancient spell that was used for concealment of information inside a living person. In Layman’s terms, it is used to hide things and people in a location where the charm was cast. The Secret Keeper is the chosen person who is capable of revealing the protected information to others aside from the caster, of course. Your parents were betrayed by one of their friends for revealing their whereabouts to the Dark Lord who was their Secret Keeper”

“So that's how he found them. . .” Harry muttered in shock and looked up. “Who was it? Was he caught?”

“He was caught by the Aurors by the time he blew up the street and killed several muggles including his other friend while laughing like a maniac” you replied and then your eyes drooped down. “Or so they thought. . .”

Harry furrowed his brows, confused and agitated. It's not like that you were speaking in riddles.

“The friend who was caught is named Sirius Black and is one of your father’s best friends who was considered a brother in all but blood. It was because of that fact that they assumed he was a death eater and a right-hand man of the Dark Lord but that was not the case. At first, your parents thought of making Heir Black their Secret Keeper but he suggested someone else who was the least expected to be one because everyone knows that Heir Black is closest to James so it became too obvious. They agreed and made their other best friend their Secret Keeper”

“How did you-?”

“Know all this? Your father told me everything about the Secret Keeper bits” you replied and leaned in. “Everything was all a setup to make everyone believe that Sirius Black is the one who betrayed the Potters, got them killed, and killed several muggles on the way. He was framed and was chunked into Azkaban with no trial”

You quickly explained to Harry about Azkaban and the corruption of the ministry and his eyes widened in shock. You leaned back into the armchair and added. “The other best friend who was the real culprit was named Peter Pettigrew who defected to the Dark Lord for who knows when”

Harry’s brows furrowed in thought. “Was he the other friend who was supposedly killed along with the muggles on the street?”

You hummed and nodded, happy that he managed to catch on. “You are right. He was the one who framed Heir Black and faked his death with unknown means. All the Aurors found of his remains is a finger and nothing more”

“So you do not know how he managed to escape and hide for almost a decade?” he inquired.

“No, I do not. I think you might have to ask your father about that” You shook your head.

Harry laughed bitterly and shook his head. “That's the thing. My father is dead so how am I gonna ask him that?”

Your lips pursed into a thin line. “What if I told you your father is alive and not dead?”

Harry froze and had a look of shock, disbelief, and hope. “W-What do you mean he is not dead? Everyone saw his body in the house so there's no way he would survive”

“That's what we want everyone to think. Let me tell you things that no one aside from me, your father, and Voldemort know about” you said.

That caught Harry’s attention as he went silent and started to listen attentively.

“A week before their death, James Potter came to visit me on the usual Saturday except he visited my house in the middle of the night which confused me at first. He looked frantic and kept looking in different directions. He even brought his invisibility cloak along which confuses me even more.

He asked me if we could talk inside my house and I let him in. . .”

Flashback

You let James inside your house and locked the door as you turned around with your arms crossed.

“Alright, James. Tell me what the hell is going on here and why are you visiting me in the middle of the night?”

“Please hear me out. It is very important and it was related to my family” James spoke out.

You dropped your arms and straightened. “That bad, huh? Let's take a seat first and then you can tell me”

He nodded and sat on the couch opposite you as you went to get some calming hot tea for him.

“Alright, now that you’ve calmed down. Can you tell me why you look like you saw someone die right in front of you?” you questioned.

“I had a gut feeling that I might be found out and get killed. I told Lily about this and she just shrugged it off thinking that I was overthinking things but you know about my Potter Luck” James spoke out.

You nodded. “Yeah, the bloodline curse that every male Potter will be lucky in interesting times”

“I- I trusted Peter but I always felt like he is something dirty and that revolts me. He’s my best friend and I don't understand why I would feel like that toward him”

You cocked your head to the side and advised him. “You should trust your gut and not ignore it. Maybe what you’re feeling towards Peter is telling you not to trust him and move to a different location”

James smiled wryly. “You think I haven't tried that? I told Lily that we had to leave and move to the Potter manor where we would be safe with all the protection wards around but she didn't listen and insisted that we stay. I'm worried about Harry. What if the Fidelius charm failed and Peter did rat us out?”

You narrowed your eyes as you managed to find out his actual purpose for coming here. “You wanted me to count the future for you because you ran out of other options”

James looked down with a cup of tea in hand and pleaded, “Please, (First Name). I don't know what to do. I- I wanted to protect Harry in any way I could but neither Lily nor Dumbledore would tell me anything or would tell me the reason why we have to hide from the Dark Lord”

You stared for a couple of moments before you sighed and stood up to get your tarot cards. “You owe me for this, James”

James looked up and beamed with a huge smile on his face. “Thank you, thank you!! Thank you so much”

“You can thank me later once you survive” you admonished him as you swapped the deck and spread it a bit to him. “Alright, James. You know the rules”

He looked through the spread deck and picked 3 random cards. He gave them to you and you took them to flip them and reveal the past, present, and future. To James, nothing happened but to you, the cards glowed and revealed the secrets to you.

You frown as you watch and read the secrets and look up to your friend. “James, when was your son born?”

“It was 31st July 1980. Why?” James replied and furrowed his brows confused.

You groaned as you pinched the bridge of your nose. “Oh, fucking hell. You got to be shitting me right now”

“Why, what's wrong? Is it something bad?” James asked, started to become anxious when he heard you cursing.

“Bad? It was the worst. Somewhere around the month before your son was born, a prophecy was made at that time and Dumbledore is the one who witnessed it. My cousin, Sybil made a vision during her interview with him at Hog’s Head and one of the Dark Lord’s followers overheard it but only the first half of it before he was caught by the owner. At that time, I also had a vision and it was the same as Sybil’s” you explained.

James blanched as he stared at you in horror. “A prophecy? Why didn't Dumbledore tell me? Why didn't you?”

“I didn't know that the prophecy was related to your son at all until now” you quickly defended yourself.

“Well, do you know what the whole prophecy is about?” James questioned.

“It goes like this. .

That's what it says” you stated.

It was then James started laughing hysterically and it startled you. You could only that he was in extreme denial and not be succumbed to the Black Madness. It was a joke but you hoped that was not the case.

“So that was it then. My son’s fate was sealed the moment he was born and Dumbledore hid this important information from me. I don't know if Lily is on board with this but I hope that was not the case” he muttered as pushed his messy hair away.

“Hang on a minute. I haven't finished reading your future yet” You raised a hand to stop him. “You can ask Lily after this but for now, you need to know that this prophecy was self-fulfilling, meaning if the Dark Lord heard the whole thing, he would've ignored it and your family might be able to live for another day. You wouldn't want Harry to live as an orphan, would you?”

His head snapped to you immediately. “Hell no!! Of course not. What kind of father would I be if I just selfishly go after the strongest dark wizard alive and leave my son alone? That would be suicide!”

You nodded in approval. “It's good to know that you’re aware of this and thinking through. Now that I’ve read your past and present, I'm gonna start on the future”

You read the secrets on the cards, your face growing solemn as James fidgeted anxiously.

“It seems your gut feeling was right after all. Your friend ratted you out and told him your location. You will die the moment the Dark Lord steps in while you do not have a wand in your hand. He will kill Lily in the nursery and tried to cast the Killing Curse on your son but failed as the spell rebounded on him” you said solemnly and looked away, not wanting to see anymore.

This revelation felt like a lightning strike down on James as his body started trembling and his face looked nauseous.

“Do you know when will that happen?” James asked.

You shook your head and replied, “No, I don't. I could only see so much”

James’s jaw clenched and his face suddenly turned one of determination. You could see some angry fire in his hazel eyes.

“I had a feeling that I shouldn't have joined Dumbledore’s Order of the Phoenix and now I understand why. I’m just a pawn to him and will soon turn useless the moment I die. If Lily is really on board and knows about the prophecy, I want nothing to do with her anymore and I will divorce her once I survive”

“Are you sure about this? Once you cut ties, you will be an enemy to the most influenced wizard in the century” you asked.

He snorted. “Why should I be afraid? I was already an enemy to almost every Slytherin in my Hogwarts years so what's one more? And I won't be alone in dealing with him. I have you and my remaining best mates by my side”

“You do realize I am a Squib. Defenseless when it comes to magic and the only arsenal I have is my Divination talent” you deadpanned.

“Yeah, a Squib who has been saving my arse for 5 years now thanks to your talent and will overturn the war because of you” he grinned.

You snorted. “Now you’re just exaggerating”

He pouted. “I'm not!!”

“Yeah, right. Your best mates are still deep in Dumbledore’s pocket in case you didn't know” you pointed out. “Even if you told them, do you think they will believe you over him?”

“I-” James sighed and looked downtrodden. “I haven't thought about that”

You shook your head in exasperation. “You may have matured because of Harry but you’re still the same clueless prat”

“Hey!!”

“Okay, how about this? We let history run its course” You raised a hand to stop James when he was about to open his mouth. “Let me finish. You will interrogate Lily as you should have about the prophecy and reveal a bit of how you know. If Lily knew, that's when you know that you can't trust anyone, not even your wife. You have to guard Harry”

He nodded and you continued. “The only thing that will change is the night when you were supposed to die. We will have to bring the Dark Lord to our side”

“What?!” James stood up looking flabbergasted. “Why should we do that?! You know he was after Harry because of some blasted prophecy!!”

“But he only knew half of it so if we tell him that you know the whole thing and how you knew, won't he be interested? And if he finds out that you know from a Squib who has a stronger Divination talent than Sybil, he might consider a mutual agreement and bring me to his side as a useful ally no matter my status. There's an old saying among muggles, “An enemy of my enemy is my friend”

James furrowed his brows and asked in doubt. “What if he doesn't agree?”

“It was a huge gamble but I'm sure he will agree because this information is too much of a bargain and he has so much to lose if he is defeated by a mere babe who is barely a year old. To him, it was nothing more than humiliation on his blasted ego” you said.

He sighed. “Alright, let's follow with your plan but I have to say, if you attended Hogwarts, you would be the strongest Slytherin with your tactical mind and cunningness”

You smirked. “I'm quite surprised you acknowledged that”

He huffed and you laughed.

31st October 1981 - Godric’s Hollow

"Lily!! Take Harry and go!!" James shouted, covering Lily as she ran upstairs to the nursery.

He gulped as he face-to-face with the Dark Lord who was about to raise his wand and cast the Killing Curse.

"Avada Kedav-"

"Wait!! I have something you wish to know!!" James raised both his hands to stop Voldemort from completing the full incantation.

Voldemort's crimson eyes narrowed but still didn't lower his wand. "And pray to tell what it is?"

"The full prophecy. You only managed to hear the first half of it from one of your followers, didn't you?" James asked.

Voldemort's eyes hardened and hissed dangerously. "How did you know that? Did that old fool Dumbledore tell you?"

Hearing Dumbledore's name caused James to snort. "Are you kidding me? That old bastard never told me anything about it, much less the reason why he ordered us to go into hiding a few weeks after my son was born. I only found out about it a week ago and it had to be from someone else's mouth who is nowhere related to the war!!"

Hearing James's change of attitude and rant caused Voldemort to blink in surprise as he lowered the wand a little but still cautious.

"Why are you telling me this? What is your goal?"

"My goal? It is to protect Harry and keep that old man away from him, turning him into a weapon made for war and I will not stand for it!!" James snarled.

"But since you know the prophecy, then you should know that it was related to your son that he will be my downfall if he lives" Voldemort hissed.

"What if I told you there's more to it? You only know the first half so shouldn't you have a second opinion?" James questioned.

After a few moments of staring, Voldemort had thought of it and lowered his wand down. "Tell me. If this is your way of stalling for more time then you have another thing coming"

James straightened and looked at his soon-to-be ally head-on. He then stated the whole prophecy that his friend told him a week ago. Silence ensued and James started sweating profusely as he hoped Voldemort would listen to him.

He was startled when he heard a lot of cursing, snarling, and a large array of spells and curses sent to random furniture. He cast a strong Protego on himself in case he was accidentally caught in the crossfire.

Well, at least the random spells on the damaged furniture make it more convincing that we fought vigorously, he thought.

James almost flinched when Voldemort's attention turned back to him, scowled face, and panting from anger and a lot of spellcasting.

"So it was a self-fulfilling prophecy after all? If I hadn't gone after you Potters, I would've won this war in a short time" he snarled and then questioned. "Tell me. Who is this person who told you about the full prophecy? Another Seer?"

James raised his head high. "Why should I tell you if I didn't know that you would harm her?"

Voldemort chuckled. "It's good for you to be still wary despite all this. How about I make an Unbreakable Vow to help?"

James gaped at the dark wizard. While the offer is tempting, he would never expect Voldemort of all people to magically a binding oath that may cost his life and magic.

He snapped out of it. He doesn't have much time left anyway. Sirius and the others will arrive soon so he had to hurry up.

"Do it and make sure the wording doesn't have any loopholes in it for you to take advantage of" James narrowed his eyes.

Voldemort hummed, impressed, and made the vow as the magic wrapped around his magical core.

Once James felt secure, he told Voldemort about his friend who was a Squib and had a stronger Divination talent than her halfblood cousin. He even included that he knew Voldemort would be coming to kill him and his family soon after Peter Pettigrew ratted them out but he just didn't know when.

Voldemort was silent, then he chuckled and soon started laughing maniacally.

Once he calmed down, he grinned sharply at James. "So a Squib who had nothing to do with the war ended up saving two people from different sides of the war from their supposed doom. Very well, her talent is more useful on our side, and will not let it go to waste to some stupid simplicity. Lord Voldemort will be merciful and will spare you, your son, and that mudblood"

James was seething when he heard that word but calmed himself down when it applied to his soon-to-be ex-wife.

"Tell me how I should communicate with that friend of yours" Voldemort demanded.

James used his free hand to take out a mobile phone that he got from (First Name) a week ago to communicate instead of owls in case they got intercepted and pressed a call button.

A click was heard and a grumbling voice came after.

"James, you better tell me the reason why you're calling me just when I was about to sleep" (First Name) grumbled.

"(First Name), it happened and he's with me right now," James said and blinked in surprise when he suddenly heard a lot of shuffling from the other end of the call.

"Already? Okay, I'm on my way to your house right now. Can you tell me your location?" she asked hurriedly.

"It's Godric's Hollow. We already wasted too much time explaining everything to him and I don't know how long Sirius and the others will get here" he explained.

"Right, right. Got it. Since he wants to meet me, put the phone on speaker mode. I already showed you how. Oh and make sure to put up a silencing ward around the both of you just in case"

James put the phone on speaker mode and cast a silencing ward around himself and Voldemort.

"You can talk to her now. She's also on the way here" James explained as he let the Dark Lord into his personal space.

"You must be the Seer whom Lord Potter was talking about" Voldemort spoke out.

"And you must be Voldemort, the dark lord of the Dark side. I've heard a lot about you through the Daily Prophet. There are many things I want to say to you right now but we don't have much time left before Evans finds out that you both were stalling too long for a fight" she added and a motor engine was heard from the other side.

"Oh, right. I forgot about Evans!!" James smacked his forehead.

"Honestly, you can be quite forgetful sometimes, you dolt" she chided him. "Anyway, we need to make a cover-up event to show what Dumbles wanted it to happen, or else our alliance will be exposed and it will be all for frivolity"

"The Seer is right, Lord Potter. The old fool expected you to die while my body will be destroyed if what you told me is true" Voldemort said.

"Wait. . .How about we give them what they want to see?"

"Please elaborate, (First Name). I have no time for riddles!!" James whined.

"James, how about we do one last major prank but this time, our target is the entire wizarding world, and your friends are included as well. Does faking death sound good?" she suggested.

He grinned and laughed. "This is gonna be the best prank I have ever made since Hogwarts. Okay, I'm in!!"

"Okay, so Voldemort. When your body is destroyed, you will be in your wraith form, right?" (First Name) asked.

"Yes, why do you ask? I needed a body to retain my sanity" Voldemort questioned.

"Well, for starters, we need evidence of your defeat and James's dead body to boot. So I have this crazy idea and both of you might not like it"

Voldemort and James glanced at each other and turned back to the phone with suspicion.

"Once the Killing Curse rebounded towards Voldemort and destroyed his body in the process, don't leave Godric's Hollow. You go straight to James and occupy his body"

"WHAT?!" James shouted and thank Merlin for the small mercies that the silencing ward was up.

"Wait, let me finish. I know that a body can't house two souls at the same time so. . ."

"So you want me to bind Lord Potter soul to soul so that his body won't disintegrate for a long term" Voldemort finished. "This was never done before nor was it heard of"

"That's why I said it was a crazy idea but do you have any other ideas? If not, let me finish. Yes, you will bind your soul with James which might look like he died from the Killing Curse because you know. . ." she trailed off.

"Okay, I get it. No need to say anymore. While this was absurd, it is the only choice we have right now" Voldemort sighed in frustration.

A door slam was heard and the two men quickly reacted with their wands raised.

"Hang on, guys. It's just me" (First Name) panted with her phone raised in hand.

"(First Name), you're here!!" James smiled.

She shushed him and he snapped his mouth shut.

"You told me a week before that you and Evans wrote the wills at Gringotts back then, right? It was also mentioned that you asked to be buried by Godric's Hollow if you died. That's where I came in, once the whole process is accomplished, while everyone is not looking, I will dig your grave and pile it up with a lot of dirt so that no one will ever suspect that you’re alive or grave robbed” she explained and shrugged at the end.

“That sounded so easy yet the process looked so hard if you think more about it” James murmured.

“Let's get on with it” (First Name) urged them as she pushed the two of them more into the house while James dispelled the silencing ward.

She quickly ran out of the house and hid somewhere far but enough to quickly rob the grave, cough, I mean dig a grave to save James from being buried alive, and watch the entrance of the door.

(First Name) waited for a couple more minutes until she saw a huge green light blast a part of the roof of Godric’s Hollow and a ghastly-looking wraith flew down the stairs and towards James Potter’s body. He flew backward and fell on the floor with a thud. He looked like he was freshly dead and she could only stare dumbfoundedly with her lips parted.

She had never thought that this crazy shit idea of hers worked. What she just told them was the highest stake gamble she had ever made and thought this plan would backfire.

(First Name) noticed a man she didn't seem to recognize walking fast into the house and didn't seem to be able to see him leave for a while.

She shook her head when she heard a motorcycle engine not far away from her hiding place. She turned around to find a young man whom she had not seen since that day, Sirius Black.

Well, that's to be expected.

Sirius Black immediately ran towards the house and she could guess how everything went. (First Name) saw Sirius leave the house with baby Harry in his arms and then a half-giant came in.

“Dumbledore orders to give the little tyke to me to bring im to him”

Sirius gave Harry to the huge man and said, “Take care of him for me. I'm gonna go after Peter since I know he didn't get far. You can take the motorcycle since I don't need it anymore”

Before the huge man could say anything, Sirius quickly ran off to a muggle street chasing after Peter Pettigrew.

(First Name) shook her head. Why does revenge matter right now? Secure Harry first then deal with revenge later!! Stupid idiot, just why did James make you his godfather again?!

Right, quit complaining. You can throttle Sirius later, she thought.

She continued observing everything as both wixen and Muggles crowded over to Godric’s Hollow wondering what happened. Gossip for the muggles to talk about.

(First Name) waited until all the muggles were gone and the Aurors buried James and Evans in the front yard of Godric’s Hollow. When she surveyed her surroundings to make sure there wouldn't be anyone who would appear out of nowhere, she took out her shovel and quickly walked over to the grave and started grave robbing.

She kept digging until she saw a hand clawing at the dirt and she dug that spot until an arm was visible to her. (First Name) reached her hand out to the arm and pulled James out of the ground.

James gasped for air when his head was finally out of the ground and you continued pulling his tired body out.

“Took you long enough to get me out. I thought I was gonna die by being buried alive with no wand in hand to get me out” James said, desperately taking in all the air he could breathe in.

“Oi, if you’re gonna complain, I will not take you back to my house” (First Name) scolded him as you piled up the dirt on the empty grave. “How is the bonding? Are you feeling any adverse side effects from him when he intruded into your body?”

Unfortunately, she was so busy with the grave that she didn't notice a red blush creeping up from James’s neck, face, and ears.

“There aren't any side effects aside from a bit of itch in my body” James tried to keep himself from being too obvious with his discomfort.

(First Name) stopped momentarily and furrowed her brows when she noticed a crack in her friend’s voice but chose not to comment as she piled up the dirt.

Once done, she walked to her motorcycle and threw a spare helmet at James.

“Wear this and hop on. We need to get out of here before anyone else sees us” (First Name) instructed and put on her helmet.

James put the helmet on and quickly sat behind (First Name), and held on to her waist as they drove far away from Godric’s Hollow.

Present Day

“That is how the whole night on 31st October went” You finished narrating the whole story to Harry and stood up to refill your tea as your throat started to grow hoarse from storytelling.

Harry’s face contorted to one of confusion, shock, and relief. He had so many questions to ask but felt that he shouldn't as you already took almost a few hours to tell him the truth behind it.

You came back and sat down with a new refill of tea. “Alright, do you have any more questions? I know you have them but you just don't want to add any more burdens”

“H-How did you know?” Harry stuttered.

“Your face says it all so that is all I can tell what you’re thinking” you replied. “Out with it. The more you know, the better you can decide with this information”

He nodded and asked, “I-Is my father here in your house? Especially Voldemort?”

You nodded. “They are but I strongly advise that you don’t go up there yet as James just had a rough day and is currently snoozing off in the guest room. You can meet him in the morning if he is up for it”

Harry nodded and asked another question. “Then the incident with the Philosopher’s Stone. . .”

“Ah, that. I knew how your first year went from Voldemort’s point of view so you don't have to explain to me. I anonymously sent a letter to Nicolas Flamel to inquire about the stone and he sent me a reply saying that he gave a fake stone to Dumbledore instead of the real one. After the stone fiasco, he removed Dumbledore from the list of approved people who could get past his home’s wards and he asked him about it but didn't even get an answer in the end” you explained.

“Fake?! It was a fake stone all along and I risked my 11-year-old self through all that trouble for nothing!!” Harry exclaimed and sneered.

“Do you honestly think one of the oldest wizards in history would easily give away the stone just like that? Even if it's Dumbledore, he’s no exception” You arched a brow.

“So then, is Nicolas Flamel and his wife still alive? I was told by Dumbledore that I condemned them both to death when I destroyed the stone” he asked, hopefully.

You clicked your tongue, clearly not happy with Dumbledore’s guilt-tripping. “Yes, they are alive so you do not have to worry about it. If it makes you feel better, I will send another letter to let him know”

He shook his head. “No, just knowing that they are alive is enough for me”

“Very well. Any more questions?”

“You mentioned in your story that Sirius Black is my godfather so if he wasn't sent to Azkaban, I would have lived with him instead of the Dursleys”

“Yeah, that would be the case”

“If my father is alive then why didn't he come to pick me up?”

You snorted. “You think he hadn't tried that? It took both me and Voldemort to stop him and persuade him not to blow our cover. Your aunt Petunia knows what James looks like so it didn't even take a genius to realize that it would be a losing game for us. Even if he changes his appearance with a glamor, he needs a fake identity in the muggle world to take you away”

“Oh” was all he said before he looked down, twiddling his thumbs.

“Was what I would say if it weren’t for my foresight” you smirked.

Harry looked up in shock. “What?”

“A week before the night, I told James to go to Gringotts to secretly make another will without anyone knowing. Not even your mother or Dumbledore knew. I don't know what the contents are but you need to go there to hear it”

Harry’s eyes were a little bit dull before they brightened with hope once more.

“But I will go and stay with the Weasleys. Should I go and tell them?”

You shook your head. “It's better if you do not tell them about us at all. Your best friends are all in Dumbledore’s pocket, remember?”

“Oh” he became downtrodden again and you sighed with a sense of deja vu.

“Why don't you try probing them, see how they react? That way you can know if they are trustworthy. If not, I’m sorry” you suggested.

“Don't apologize. You did everything you could so I don't blame you” Harry quickly went to reassure you.

You smiled. “It's fine. It was all related to you after all so you deserve to know this much and even if you accidentally reveal our location, there’s a Fidelius Charm on my house. Cast by Voldemort and I'm the Secret Keeper. There’s also muggle repellents to keep muggles away ”

You stood up and showed Harry upstairs to the guest room.

“You will sleep here for tonight. Tomorrow, you have to go back to the Dursleys and wait for the Weasleys to pick you up. Remember not to reveal anything what I just told you” you said and pointed to the room at the end of the hallway. “Your father is sleeping in that room at the end so try not to disturb him. My room’s right next door to his so you can find me if you need anything”

He nodded and walked inside the room. It was way better than Dudley’s old bedroom. He lay on top of the bed and recounted the events of the whole night. There’s so much he has learned but he was too tired right now so he decided that he would think about it in the morning.

Meanwhile, you walked to James’s room and opened the door with a deadpan look.

“Are you guys done? If Harry hears this, it will be your fault and you will clean up your mess” You glared at them.

Unfortunately, James and Voldemort’s relationship has changed over the years and your soul bond idea had created unintended consequences that lead from enemies to. . . lovers

You don’t even know how it developed from there. You remembered clearly that James had a lot of discomfort with a shit ton of arguing with Voldemort’s soul in the first few weeks in your house.

You thanked Great Circe for adding soundproof walls and told them to add silencing wards around the room as well or else you wouldn't be able to sleep with all the noises at night. You wished that you had a stronger drink to wash away this craziness.

Voldemort who was currently possessing James at the moment smirked triumphantly and you wanted nothing more than to strangle him but you’ll be strangling James’s neck instead to interrogate him why did he let this kind of shit happen. Although it was partly your fault for it.

“Wouldn’t it be interesting to see my prophesied enemy find me defiling his father for 12 years? I can already imagine his reaction when he finds us looking at this” he said, looking smug with James’s face on it, eyes brimming blood red.

You scrunched up your face in disgust and scandalized as you slammed the door shut. “I better see James in clean slate in the morning, you damn bastard”

You stomped back into your room and slammed the door shut. You screamed in frustration and wondered why did you even bother to help them in the first place. Oh, wait. It is because of your selfishness to keep James alive so that you won’t lose a valuable customer and a wixen one at that.

Whatever, I already went too deep into this rabbit hole so this is already at the point of no return, you thought and then smirked when your cousin came to mind.

“Are you seeing this, Sybil? I became more successful than you, a Squib than a halfblood like you. I have proved you wrong and now I can't wait to rub this to your face when we meet”
