Chapter Text
Finn trembled as he stared transfixed on Huntress's smile. There was none of her usual curiosity or kindness behind it. It was all too similar to the most terrifying smiles he'd seen from all the other unhinged and dangerous women in his life. He didn't fear those women and had no trouble fighting them when he had to. But he didn't love those women like he loved Huntress and so all he could do was freeze. His large frame felt small as she rose from her seat in front of him, her power seemed so great. Her limbs seemed longer than usual, her leafy hair flowing, her hands becoming claws as sharp as her arrowheads. Her unloving smile parted and she spoke.
"So this is all it takes? To get the great hero Finn the human to act like a fawn?"
Despite his height, she was staring him in the eye. He hadn't noticed that she began floating. Her expression was sharp and distant, seeing through him. She was not looking for a response. Her hand raised and her claws dragged up his fuzzy chest. She stroked his right cheek and ran her claw against his scar. She grabbed his beard and pulled as she floated above his head. He staggered forward and fell to his knees, just barely catching himself to land on all fours. He looked up and saw her glowing green against the enormous orange moon. Her eyes narrowed and she darted across the sky, twisting across his vision. She disappeared for a moment and Finn pushed himself up. Before he could fully stand he was knocked back and caught on Huntress's knees. She had one arm cradling his back and the other forcing his shoulder down. He locked eyes with her and she moved her claw into his upper arm. She leaned forward and bit his neck. He gasped and raised his metal hand, giving a wave.
"Done then? Told you I could scare you. Happy Halloween, ya donk."
